Brazilian football superstar Neymar is leaving Spanish club Barcelona and moving to Paris St-Germain in France and is set to burst the transfer record fee with a whooping €222m. That equates to £198m or $262m. In Naira, that is around 96940000000 Naira. N96.9bn. What can you do with that type of money in this country? 1. Not much, but you can sponsor the 2017 budget of any of these 4 Nigerian states, Ekiti with N93bn, Gombe N69bn, Nasarawa N67bn or Yobe N69.3bn and still be a multi billionaire 2. Pay the salary of 449,000 workers for a year at 18k minimum wage 3. There are about 10 planes in the presidential fleet. The Boeing Business Jet, which is also known as the Airforce 1, costs approximately $80m. You could help president Buhari reduce the cost of governance by copping that and have some change left. The change can buy two other choppers in the presidential fleet 4. Scholarships for over 27000 students in Covenant University for 4 years each 5. Over 414,000 Samsung Galaxy S8 phones at 243k each 6. 52 plots of land in Banana Island plot at $5m each 7. Over 1000 Rolls Royce Ghost luxury vehicles at $250,000 each 8. 121,000 Toyata Camry (Pencil Light) vehicles at 800k each 9. 5 million bags of rice 10. 51 million cartons of Indomie Chicken noodles 11. 28 million packs of Domino pizza 12. 646 million bags of sachet water (pure water) 13. 969 million bottles of plastic Coke If you had that type of money, what would you buy? ![]() Source: https://www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/13-things-you-can-buy-in-nigeria-with-neymars-transfer-fee.242352/

The drama in Nigeria's parliament in the last two weeks cannot but go unnoticed. The nation's highest lawmaking body has been engulfed in grave allegations of scandals that bother on university certificate and over fake Customs document scandals. The allegations bothering on Certificate was on Kogi West lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye, while that of fake documents was on Senate President Bukola Saraki. The two were yesterday cleared of the allegations but Nigerians should not be ignorant of their responsibilities as citizens – they also have the power to call home, their representatives if involved in 'dirty' deals. This process of ejecting a lawmaker from the parliament is called Recall. In Nigeria's 1999 constitution,a recall is the process through which a validly elected Senator may be removed from his/her seat in the Senate. It is a voting process where the electorate decide via a referendum (a yes or no vote) whether they want the Senator to remain for the rest of his term or whether he should be recalled. The process for recalling a Senator is contained in Section 69 of the 1999 Constitution. The steps are: 1 More than half of the registered voters in the Senator’s senatorial district write, sign and send a petition to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC alleging their loss of confidence in the senator. 2. The petition must be signed, and arranged according to polling units, wards, Local Government Areas, and constituency. 3. INEC notifies the Senator sought to be recalled, stating that it has received a petition for his or her recall, if the petition is valid. 4. INEC issues a public notice or announcement stating the date, time and location of the verification of signatures to the petition. 5 INEC verifies the signatures to the petition at the designation. The signatories must be individuals who appear on the voters’ register. 6. INEC conducts a referendum if more than one half (50% + 1) of the signatories are verified 7. INEC writes to the petitioners stating that the minimum requirements for a referendum were not met, if the number verified is less than one half of the registered voters in that constituency. The petition will therefore be dismissed. 8. INEC conducts a referendum within 90 days of receipt of the petition if the minimum requirements for a referendum are met. The referendum will be a simple yes or no vote on whether the Senator should be recalled, and will be decided by simple majority of the votes of the persons registered to vote in that Senator’s constituency. 9. If majority of the voters in the constituency vote ‘yes’ the Chairman of the INEC will send a Certificate of Recall to the Senate President to effect the recall. 10. The Senate President will show affected senator the way out of the Senate. Source: https://www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/scandals-10-ways-you-can-recall-a-nigerian-senator.236094/

Valentine is here again and as usual, Nigerians are loaded with ideas on how to make the day a memorable one. However, the economic downturn which has affected almost every strata of social life poses itself as a ready bane to the realization of these ‘dream day.’ Below are few ways you can celebrate Valentine’s Day on a budget as low as N1, 000. 1. Engage in SMS challenge You are in Lagos and your girlfriend is in Abuja. Though you are free to travel to spend the day with her but you don’t have the fund. Worry less, just recharge your phone and engage her in an SMS challenge. Send the first message early in the morning and follow it up with two or 3 messages every 30 minutes or an hour. By the end of the day, she will appreciate this more than a million roses. 2. Pay surprise visit Valentine is not only for lovers but also for the people around us. Just appear at the door of a friend or relative living close by, whom you have seen a long time ago. Just be sure your transport fare will not exceed your ‘N1, 000.’ 3. Give yourself a treat Have you been longing for that Amala dish, Tuwo with Kuka and cray product, or fresh Apu with bitter leaf Egusi and catfish, February 14 is a day to bring to reality you wish? Enter a decent restaurant and order for a good dish you haven’t taken a long time ago. Again, be sure not to order for food more than N1, 000. 4. Call old friends The love can be extended to friends you’ve seen for a long time. Recharge N1, 000 on your phone call some of them and relish old times. The memories of good times spent together could give your heart a soothing company the whole day. 5. Gift a stranger Turn the N1, 000 to a gift and give it to a stranger. According to reports, US President Donald Trump will today speak to President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria and President Jacob Zuma of South Africa. Here are likely things the two leaders may discuss, as compiled by Nigerian Bulletin. 1. Boko Haram: The several attacks by Boko Haram terrorists in North East Nigeria may also constitute what the conversation will be about. US President will want to know what the efforts of the government have been, and how the US can be of help to curb violence. Recall that President Trump in his inaugural speech said his Presidency will eradicate Islamic terrorism from the face of the earth. 2. IPOB: The Indigenous People of Biafra have staged several protests both in Nigeria, and the United States, calling for the intervention of US President Trump to secure release of their leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from detention for treasonable felony. This could make up what the two leaders will discuss. 3. Nigeria-US Relations: The bilateral relations between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the United States of America are very strong. They have long been close allies. The United States is Nigeria's greatest trading partner and is undeniably its most important diplomatic partner. 4. Chibok Girls: At a news conference in Abuja in June 2014, a United States Congressional Delegation consisting of Steve Stockman, Sheila Jackson-Lee, Frederica Wilson and Lois Frankel indicated that US troops were ready to assist in the search for the missing girls of the Chibok schoolgirl kidnapping. An interdisciplinary US team was also sent to assist the Nigerian military. Donald Trump may be ready to support Nigerian army in negotiating or finding an approriate way on getting the remaining girls out of Boko Haram terrorists captive. 5. Nigerian Economy: Nigerian economy is currently in recession, and with dwindling oil prices. How the Economy has fared, and the measures so far by the Nigerian government may make up the call. NIGERIA: Well, with a troubled economy and a nation engulfed in so many problems, it is quite difficult not to fall sick as a President. Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari is currently on vacation in the United Kingdom and has sought for an indefinite extension of leave to complete test and medical routine before returning home.. There have been speculations about whether he was physically fit for office even before he took power in May 2015, and rumours flying around of recurrence of what happened in 2010, when late President Umar Musa Yaradua was in power. Late President Yar'adua on the other hand, was the 13th President of Nigeria. He served as governor of Katsina State in northern Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 28 May 2007. He was declared the winner of the controversial Nigerian presidential election held on 21 April 2007, and was sworn in on 29 May 2007. In 2009, Yar'Adua left for Saudi Arabia to receive treatment for pericarditis. He returned to Nigeria on 2 May 2010, where he died on the 5th. Here are seven similarities between the two Katsina born leaders, as compiled by Nigerian Bulletin 1. State of Origin: Muhammadu Buhari was born on 17 December 1942, in Daura, Katsina State, to his father Adamu and mother Zulaihat. He is the twenty-third child of his father. Buhari was raised by his mother, after his father died when he was about four years old while Yar'Adua was born into an aristocratic family in Katsina; his father, a former Minister for Lagos during the First republic, held the chieftaincy title of Mutawalli (or custodian of the royal treasury) of the Katsina Emirate, a title which Yar'Adua inherited. 2. Endorsed by Olusegun Obasanjo – Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria’s former president, has publicly expressed support for the electioneering campaign of Muhammadu Buhari, a former military ruler and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while yar'Adua highhandedly picked Umar Yar'Adua for the position of the President. 3. Health Issues in office - In May 2016, Buhari cancelled a two-day visit to Lagos to inaugurate projects in the state but he was represented by the Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo after citing an "ear infection" suspected to be Ménière's disease. On 6 June, Buhari also travelled to the United Kingdom to seek medical attention. This happened days after the Presidential Spokesman Femi Adesina was quoted as saying Buhari was "as fit as fiddle" and "hale and hearty", to much discontent and criticism from political analysts and followers. Late January 2017, following what were described as "routine medical check-ups" in the UK, Buhari asked parliament to extend his vacation trip to allow him attend to medical issues and await test results. President Yar'Adua left Nigeria on 23 November 2009, and was reported to be receiving treatment for pericarditis at a clinic in Saudi Arabia. He was not seen in public again, and his absence created a dangerous power vacuum in Nigeria. He returned February 24, 2010 under the cover of darkness. His state of health was unclear, but there was speculation that he was still on a life support machine. Yar'Adua died on 5 May at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa. 4. Vice Presidents take over in Acting Capacities - On 9 February 2010, a motion from the Nigerian Senate invested Goodluck Jonathan as acting President of the Federation because President Yar'Adua went to Saudi Arabia in November 2009 for medical treatment which later claimed his life. The recent vacation trip of President Muhammadu Buhari makes vice President, Yemi Osinbajo acting President for the third time within two years of the APC-led federal government administration. 5. Fulani - Tribe – They are both from the Fula family also known as Fulani, one of the largest and a widely dispersed Muslim ethnic group in Sahel and West Africa. The Fulani are a group of West African pastoralists. They move over vast areas and come across many cultures known by different names, the Fulani are called Peul in Wolof, Fula in Bambara, Felaata in Kanuri, and Fulani in Hausa. 6. Uncertainty Over Health Issues: Like Yar' Adua's health which was shrouded in the clouds of uncertainty, President Muhammadu Buhari's vacation has been extended without a specific date of return over health issues and expected to get Doctor's node before returning back home More mystifying is the fact that the duration of the extension was not specified. The development has almost immediately given rise to more speculations and uncertainty, with some individuals already pointing at an uncanny parallel between it and the leadership drama that characterised the days of the late Umaru Yar’Ádua administration. 7. Both Were Flown Abroad for Treatment: Yar'Adua received health attention outside the shores of Nigeria and raised concern over Nigeria's health institutions. President Muhammadu Buhari is toiling the path despite allocation to the health industry and the Made-In-Nigeria or Buy Naija syndrome of taking the nation out of recession. Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the Senate to extend his medical leave, deepening suspicions that his health is far worse than officials are publicly admitting. The 74-year-old leader who had been dogged by speculation about whether he was physically fit for office even before he took power in May 2015, had been due to return to Abuja on Sunday after taking more than two weeks' leave for medical checks in the UK. But, why is President Buhari's health report/status shrouded in secrecy, as it seems? What are they hiding about the President's health? Here is a list of Nigerians who are believed to respond on the health status of Nigeria's number one man, as compiled by Nigerian Bulletin 1. Aisha Buhari – Aisha is the wife of Nigeria's President, Mohammadu Buhari. Few days ago, reports say Mrs Aisha travelled to the UK to check on his ailing husband. Except photos that surfaced on the internet, Mrs Aisha did not publicly disclose her husband's health status. 2. Vice President Osinbajo – Prof. Osinbajo, a legal luminary is the Nation's second-in-command chief executive. He of all persons should know what exactly is wrong with his 'partner'. The comments of Osinbajo on Buhari's health is that he affirmed that he is hale and hearty, when he spoke with him. 3. Lai Mohammed: Lai, Nigeria's minister of Information and Culture controls the media, defends the actions and inactions of the government. Lai Mohammed has been at par with the government since his days as the Publicity Secretary of the Action Congress. Then as the mouth piece of the Action Congress, in 2009, he challenged the Federal Government to update Nigerians on the state of health of the late Umar Musa Yaradua. Now as it is the case with him as the Minister of Information, and whose President's health is questionable and fuelling a lot of rumours, Minister Lai Mohammed has not spoken on President Mohammadu Buhari's state of health. 4. John Oyegun: Oyegun, a native of Edo state is the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, the party of President Mohammadu Buhari. He, among other party faithfuls are very close to the President. But, be as it may, Mr Oyegun has not commented on the state of health of his party-man. 5. Bola Tinubu: Likewise, Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress. He has not commented on the health of the President so far. Tinubu is one of Nigeria's prominent politicians and the founding fathers of the APC. He was among those who 'sold' APC to Nigerians, and surely cannot be schemed out of things. But, why has he not commented on the President's health? 6. Femi Adesina, Media Team: A trained journalist, Femi Adesina is the Special Assistant on Media to the President. In simple terms, he is the President's spokesman. Adesina – who is currently a trending topic on social media – has not given a pleasing answer to the state of health of his principal. Instead, Mr Adesina claims that only the President may wish to disclose his health status. Adesina maintained that Patient-doctor-confidentiality is enjoyed by any medical patient, and which also applies to President Buhari's case on not disclosing his health status. However, in a series of interviews, Adesina has always stated that the President is hale and hearty. 7. Garba Shehu Garba Shehu is also a strong man on President Buhari's media team. He is the Senior Special Adviser on Media. Besides reports that says Mr President is hale and hearty, Shehu has not come out openly oh his kinsman's health status. He only said: the President is "not in any serious medical condition". 8. Mamman Daura - Mamman Daura -is the President's cousin apart from being in government and very close to President Muhamamdu Buhari. Daura is said to be one of the stronghold in Buhari's administration. He is expected to know what the president is upto at any given time because he enjoyed the Presidency privileged though not officially stipulated in constitution. Mr. Daura wears same clothes with the president and goes travelling with the president on most major trips. He might be among those Mr. Femi Adesina's the media aide to president said he has been speaking with since the President left for vacation. 9. Abba Kyari - He is the chief of staff and one of the 'Cabals' in President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government.. Mr. Kyari holds strong place in the President's heart and should be familiar with the acitivities of Mr. Buhari both home and abroad. 10. Senate President, Bukola Saraki: A staunch politician, Bukola Saraki Nigeria's Number 3 Man. He is the President of the Senate. The leadership of the Senate under Saraki received the two letters President Buhari forwarded on his vacation notice, and consequent extension. Senator Saraki, as widely held should be aware of the President's state of health. But the Senate President has not commented on his health at all. 11. Ibikunle Amosun – Ibikunle Amosun is the second-term governor of Ogun state. Amosun is widely believed to be closest of all Nigerian governors to President Mohammadu Buhari. Reports had it few weeks ago that the south-west governor visited Buhari in the UK, and dined with him. Amosun, too, has not disclosed anything on the President's health since his return. 12. El-rufai: Nasir El-rufai is the governor of Kaduna state. El-rufai - whose state is currently enveloped in a religious violence in Southern Kaduna – is widely regarded as the 'unofficial Vice President' because of his closeness to the Buhari-led Federal government. Award-winning Nigerian singer, 2face Idibia, has championed the cause to protest against the Federal Government. Many Nigerians have joined him in the nationwide protest that will hold February 6, 2017 in Lagos and Abuja. But, since the artiste made the announcement, there have been several efforts by the FG to frustrate the protest in one way or the other. The first was when the Special Assistant on Media to the President, Femi Adeshina said that the protest is as a result of those that are aggrieved they lost the elections to President Buhari in 2015. As if this was not enough, Lauretta Onochie, also an aide on Social Media to the President confronted 2Face to go on live TV to give reasons for his protest and action. Also, on Wednesday, the Lagos State Police Commissioner Fatai Owoseni said he will not allow the planned protest against the Federal Government slated for February 5 to hold in the state. Owoseni said: “Information reaching us revealed that some hoodlums are planning to hijack the peaceful protest. And as such, we won’t allow it to hold in Lagos. We know that Tuface do not have the capacity to contain such a crowd and we will not fold our hands and watch while things go out of hand.” But, really, why is the FG trying to frustrate the protest. Nigerian Bulletin compiles some of the reasons why this is so: 1. FG Believes 2Face Belongs To The Opposition: The Federal Government seem to believe that the artiste pitches tent with the opposition party – especially as it was in the news few days ago that Senator Akpabio, a PDP lawmaker is a sponsored party to the protest. The Senator however denied those claims. Well, this could be one of the fears of the government. 2. To Cover up the rot of the government: The Federal government wants to frustrate the protest as a measure to cover up for their excesses, and since the demonstration is to protest everything that is wrong in the government since inception. 3. This present government seem not convenient with confrontation: Have you not noticed yet? That the APC-led Federal Government seems not convenient with confrontation? Several attempts by labour unions, groups to protest wrong workings of the government have been silenced or quickly settled. Except for social media protest, no demonstration has been against the Buhari-led Federal Government since inception. 4. Activists bigger than 2Face May take up the protest: The federal government is fearful that renowned activists with higher status than 2face may take over the protest and it would be a messy situation for the FG. Already, renowned artistes have declared their support for the 'African Queen' crooner, and also a civic organisation; Enough is Enough Nigeria 5. The greater side of the populace is on 2face' side: Since 2face announced the protest, it has been the trending topic on social media with the hasttag: #iStandWith2Face #iStandWith2Baba #WeWillProtest #iStandWithNigeria. The larger chunk of the populace is on the side of the artiste and the massive movement is what the FG is afraid of. Obafemi Awolowo University is a federal government owned and operated Nigerian university. The university is in the ancient city of Ile-Ife. Established in 1962 as The University of Ife. The University is situated on a vast expanse of land totaling 11,861 hectares in Ile-Ife, Osun State, southwest of Nigeria. Right from the start, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU), has continuously proven its academic, administrative, research and community service supremacy over and above other universities in Nigeria. Why this is so is explained in the points below as compiled by Nigerian Bulletin: 1. Students Unionism: Of all student unions in Nigeria, OAU student union stands out. Its slogan Great IFE means: Great Intellectual Fighters for Emancipation. The ivory tower boasts of vibrant union and fearless national activists. Examples include: Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, Bamidele Aturu, among others. While other schools has Students’ Union Government ; government connotes operating within a territory, OAU has a Student Union which fights not for only OAU but entirety of Nigerian studentship. 2. Academic Excellence: This is a non-negotiable attribute of why thousands of students troop into Obafemi Awolowo University. The academic excellence and intellectual supremacy of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife cannot be matched with any other higher institution of learning in Nigeria. The ivory tower has an extensive history of academic excellence. Its products dominate and excel in various fields. 3. Beautiful Campus, Architectural Balance: OAU does not only have 'Africa's Most Beautiful Campus' in its school anthem, it has truly lived up to this name. The architectural masterpiece of building structures, and the serene environment will always leave you wowed. Besides this, OAU has good building structure. Halls of residence are removed from the academics. Banks have their place on campus. Market has its place. Lecture theatres have their places. And so on. 4. Strong Alumni Body: OAU boasts of an impressive alumni body both home and abroad. 5. Zero cultism: The last time cultist struck in OAU was in 1999. An attack which was allegedly orchestrated by the school management. Since then, the campus enjoys a cultist-free status. 6. Social life and rich cultural orientation: No other school compares when it comes to the social life in OAU. From Awo to Faj, Moremi to Akintola, the school maintains a rich social culture. Each hall of residence has its own students' peculiarity. For instance: Awolowo Hall is known for 'Aroism, and its habitual consumption of beans. Moremi is known for being the domain of campus big girls. Angola Hall is for the fresh male students. Mozambique is for the fresh female students. AngloMoz Park (the fusion of Angola and Mozambique) – which is in between Angola and Mozambique halls is a home for new students to hang out with one another. Fajuyi hall is known for being the hall of 'gentle' students. Apart from several hall orientation programmes, social events and displays from students will make you want to have a taste of the Great Ife! 7. Aroism: This is a concept that may sound ridiculous to students of other institution but it resounds a familiar meaning to an OAU student. It is a term used for hilarity in the school. 8. Peace, serene environment where students can move any time of the day – Not many Nigerian university campuses give you the freedom to walk at any time of the day, freely with no fear whatsoever. Students can leave their dorms to study in lecture theatres at any time of the time – even in the midnight, with no fear of intimidation. Besides campus security that is everywhere around the campus, students also watch each other's back. 9. Relatively cheap items – This is very very true of Obafemi Awolowo University – things are incredibly cheap on campus. Where do one even start from? From making photocopies of documents – which ranges from N3 – to transport fares which is N20 (from campus gate to inside the campus) no matter the size of the luggage. Also at butteries, prices of goods/stuffs should not be more than what students can afford. There have been cases where butteries have been shut because of trading over-priced items that are more expensive than outside campus. 10. Internal Government – Well, OAU has its own government. Cases are settled within and among the students. There has never been cases where policemen/armed forces invaded the campus to arrest or harrass students. These issues are always resolved among the students, and by the security arm of the school. Source: https://www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/oau-10-reasons-it-is-the-best-nigerian-university.232214/

The information on the site explains that: 'We apologize for the inconvenience, but unfortunately, this website is currently unavilable.' On the blog's twitter page, @MissTechyNG, the latest post 'Programming Language of the Year', was posted 10 hours ago – an indication that the blog went offline at the early hours of today. is owned by Tobi Ayeni, a graduate of banking and finance at Covenant University in Nigeria. Tobi constantly gets tested by Nigerian males to see just how much she knows about software and technology. Miss Techy is Nigeria's most popular female blogger. One of the reasons MissTechy has been so successful is because she has been able to, in her mind, bypass the male technology agenda and find topics that are valuable and interesting to her. For MissTechy, her goal is to "change the way people think about tech" and to get more people in Nigeria interested in technology, she said in an interview-feature on Nigerian Bulletin 2015 Source: www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/misstechy-com-–-nigerias-hottest-tech-blog-temporarily-offline.230573/

The Nigerian Senate on Thursday rejected the nomination of Ibrahim Magu’s as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. His rejection came after a closed-door session stating that his rejection was based on “security report.” What could have been responsible for Magu's nomination? Here are likely reasons why: 1. His Anti-corruption Clampdown – The Senate may have rejected Ibrahim Magu because of his anti-corruption clampdown that have rounded up lawmakers, and mostly members of the opposition party. 2. Pitching Tent With Buhari: The Senate may have rejected Magu's nomination because he may be seen as blowing trumpet of President Mohammadu Buhari's administration who is also stiff on trying politicians of corrupt practices. 3. Another Northern Appointment: Also, the Senate may have rejected Mr Magu as the EFCC Chair so as to falter another appointment from the North, as President Buhari's appointments so far has majorly tilted towards the North. 4. Buhari's Not-to-good Relationship with the Senate: The Senate may have perceived Magu as being planted by President Buhari to sniff into their actions, as the President is not in good terms with the Senate. 5. Security Report: Well, according to Aliyu Abdullahi, the spokesperson of the House, he said: “The Senate wish to inform the public that based on available security report, the Senate cannot proceed with confirmation of Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. “The nomination of Ibrahim Magu is hereby rejected and has been returned to the President for further action,” Source: https://www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/5-likely-reasons-why-senate-rejected-ibrahim-magu-as-efcc-chairman.229028/

2016 has not been a good year for Nigeria politically and economically. Here is a list of some politicians who disappointed Nigerians despite high hopes that they are capable of taking the country to an enviable heights. 1. President Mohammadu Buhari: President Mohammadu Buhari tops the list of most disappointing politicians in Nigeria for 2016. Where do we even start from? Is it of the economic recession? or lopsided appointments? selective anti-corruption war? no sound economic policies and directions; no strong measure to tackle insurgence and herdsmen killing? The list is endless. 2. Governor El-Rufai: Governor El-Rufai's entrance into power was for the first few months applauded because of how the governor rolled out good governance policies and investment scheme in the state. But the disappointment is how the governor is unable to contain religious crisis – that claimed dozens of lives – in the state. He recently labelled the Shiite Islamic Movement of Nigeria, an insurgent group. 3. Governor Wike: Nyesome Wike of Rivers state has positioned himself to be political stronghold in Rivers state. Ever since he took over power from his rival Rotimi Amaechi, the state has been embroiled in political war. Elections under Governor Wike have been a nightmare – laden with bloody and gruesome killings. 4. Solomon Dalung: Amid giant strides from Nigerian athletes in various sports, Mr Dalung has not made the Nigerian Ministry of Sports worthy. Nigerian athletes have been disappointed, embarrassed on various occasions, with inaction and disparaging comments from him. The latest of his controversies being the non-payment of allowances to the Super Falcons after AWCON win. 5. Raji Fashola: Babatunde Raji Fashola has been shouldered with Nigeria's Ministry of Works, Power and Housing. The former Lagos state governor has failed to deliver on its promise of fixing Nigeria's power supply a year after appointment. Before his appointment, he was quoted to have said any responsible government would fix power in six months. He also promised 10,000 MW by 2019, but we are way below the half. 6. Governor Aregbesola: A look at Governor Aregbesola's adminsitration in Osun state points out to how so many things are wrong in his administration. Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola was returned to office in November 27, 2014 for a second term. 6 years since he has been piloting the affairs of the state, Governor Aregbesola is running government without commissioners, no local government elections, the state also grapples with backlog of salaries. ---- Know of some others? A conspiracy theorist has claimed that Jesus will return to destroy the Earth this month. Nora Roth, a Christian computer programmer, says she had performed complex calculations which suggested the apocalypse will occur by the end of 2016, Daily Mail reports. The claims have been made on Ms Roth’s website, MarkBeast, in a post called ‘2016 The Time of the End.’ According to her, at that point, ‘everlasting righteousness will be brought in (1)’, and Earth will be ‘left to rest’ for a millennium (2). She wrote, ‘In the fall [autumn] of 2016, the 6,000 years of sin on earth will come to an end, everlasting righteousness will be brought in, and Jesus will come again to take His people to heaven. (3)’ ‘Then the Earth will begin its 1,000 years of rest.’ Ms Roth believes that each person has a probation time on Earth.
