I don’t care if your school is the number one in the world no be you first go there, its not a valid excuse that you not sharing a normal visa transcript is cos you don’t want people to ask you for help. You have every right to say you are busy you can’t help. Share a normal transcript or don’t share at all. No be like this people share the once’s you benefit from

What is it that you don't understand. I don't visit nairaland that much so I won't be here to help and that was the sole reason.

There are many other transcripts that can be helpful. I guess you are difficult to deal with.

I rest my case.

Dude, I actually didn't notice the second bold sentence. Can recall the response you gave in your discussion and share a fresh transcript? And please indicate your school.
Your response to interview questions provides insight for others that are about to start the same journey you successfully completed.
Share your good news in full!

I will be working on how to produce drug in an improved way.

I guess we need to understand some few things here too and I will try to be elaborate as possible. The project you work on as a PhD student is based on the funding available to the professor to do that particular research and that how you are also admitted except you are coming in with an external funding then you can decide on what project you want to embark on. If not you are to choose from the pool of available project that has funding in your school.

And during application for PhD you need not indicate any project except you have been working on it and it is also on going in the school.

I got to know which project I will be working on because I have been admitted, started classes and I am fit for the project.

All these are what I thought of and I realized it is not necessary to share what I am working on.

If this thread is for school application I will share my details in full which I already did many times on linkedln.

In fact someone got my contact from linkdln and flashed me yesterday and I called back to assist the person and I will do like I always do.

And to the person that said Nigerians are wicked and selfish. I guess you have only met selfish Nigerians in your life and you must be very selfish as well because you will only meet people of your caliber.

For the record I only posted what was necessary for this thread if you need more please do the needful. I have learnt from experience to honor the purpose of thread.

And thank you fairheart for your understanding. I respect you.

The purpose of the forum is to help people, I have been on this forum for a long time and see how people visa transcripts has helped a lot. He gained from peoples story and he is hiding his own is selfishness. Am already in the US for your information and don’t need his transcript for anything. It’s better for him not to write anything than write those rubbish. People has done referrals to their profs, send emails, vet SOP for people to apply to their school. That’s wickedness hiding a school you already got funding, everybody go de alright las las

Woooow!!!!

I shared my transcripts in detail if you don't know.
We need to be reasonable and understandable.

I didn't share my school for two reasons.

I have been on Nairaland around the period it was created and if I remember correctly this is either my first post or second post. I check Nairaland once in a while. I realized that if I put my school name people will need me to assist them which I will gladly do as I am currently doing for 5 students but I wont notice that they have asked me any question because I wouldn't have checked and then I will receive the same comment. This is me and I am not expecting you to accept it.

Secondly, this thread is for VISA not school application, however telling you the name of my school could have been helpful for others to apply but as fairheart the purpose is to understand the pattern of interview which I clearly outlined in my transcript. And I have resumed my PhD which make it more difficult for me to even remember to check Nairaland. I only saw this post because the tab was still opened.

Also I felt not too cool not knowing what mascot means which made me further not to reveal my school identity.

My school is in the top 20 in the world ranking, again sharing the name of my school maybe helpful but it's up to you to find the school that matches your profile. That is the biggest mistake many applicant make; then they get many rejection. I applied to MIT too but I didn't get in and I believe it is because of my fit for the school and also the caliber of applicants. Anyway you can always give your shot if you can.

My question is if you go for VISA interview will you mention the name of my school or the name of the school you are going to. And for that singular reason you are yelling

Let me answer this question here too.
Someone asked me for help for mock interview yes I can help provided my schedule won't make it too late because I have started my midexams. I didn't prepare for the interview as I personally felt it was not necessary for me. Everything in my application was real, truthful to the letter that if I am drunk I will still tell you the same and I am fully funded for PhD in engineering. This might not be your case so you might need to prepare very well and that is the sole purpose of this thread.

I have seen many people's transcript and it's not helpful so I understand your point vividly but If you need my school name for visa interview then I don't understand.

Visa Approved
I'll be back with transcript

Interview was scheduled for Friday, 9th October at the Lagos Consulate.

Two windows (VO) were available to interview applicants, both white in their mid 30's - 40's.
My interview session was really brief and straight to the point.

VO: Good Morning, I will like to take your biometrics for verification.
Me: Good Morning Ok Placed my fingers on the scanner.
VO: Please take your mask off briefly for Identification.
Me: Ok
VO: So, where in the US are you going?
Me: The University of Southern Mississippi
VO: What are you going there for?
Me: To pursue a Masters degree in Hydrographic Science
VO: What did you call your course?
Me: repeats twice
VO: So why Southern Mississippi?
Me: The Hydrographic Science program at USM comes with another certification, the FIG/IHO CAT-A certification. It is an industry standard and widely accepted certification. I also want to take advantage of the quality research on Autonomous Underwater Vehicles
VO: Ok, tell me about your course (at that time he stopped looking at me, started typing but kept smiling
Me: drops some sakamanje about AUVs and underwater gas seepages cheesy..... I was sure he had little or no idea about my course so I confidently said what came to my head at the moment (I read my course description last night on the school's website, this was also helpful)
VO: Visibly impressed with my description, So who will be funding your study? Did you get an assistantship?
Me: Yes, My admission offer came with full tuition waiver and monthlyl stipends
VO: Ok, Are you married?
Me: No, I am still single
VO: Do you have Kids?
Me: (at this point, I was a bit worried because I thought he was trying to establish home ties) I smiled and replied calmly, NO sir
VO: Ok, Take this slip to the cashier and make your payments, Keep your I-20 well, it will be requested for at the POE.
Me: I was smiling anyhow already, but I used my nosemask as disguise. grin grin grin Thank You!

That's all..... no question on travel history, educational background or professional experience. Brief and straight to the point. I think it is best to answer the questions as brief as possible, and let your answers match what you filled in your DS-160. About three candidates were rejected while I was on the line waiting for my turn. I was able to eavesdrop on their interview session

Rejection 1: He claimed to have a funding offer but it wasn't reflecting on his I-20. He said it will only reflect upon admission(I guess he meant resumption). The wasn't having any of it, he insisted the guy was admitted already and any funding offer must reflect on his I-20, he said he would have approved him but no proof of funding.

Rejection 2: Baba claimed to be single on DS-160 but said he was married when asked during the interview. He started shalaye , According to him, he gave his babe belle and had to marry her grin grin grin. He said he did his traditional marriage on October 10th, but was yet to do the legal marriage. VO didn't but his alaye ....Rejected.

I can't recall the reason for the third rejection.

The second VO asked some funny questions for the other guys while I was been interviewed
1[s]) What's the official mascot of your school? The guy didn't know, he was asking what a mascot was...... His visa was approved regardless[/s]
2) Pronounce the name of your school (University of Louisville). The guy tried but not so spot on, VO corrected him and granted the Visa .

Overall, today was a good day for most applicants at the Lagos Consulate. I would say about 80% approval (judging from my time in the waiting hall, i noticed only three rejections).
About 30 - 40 applicants were interviewed today, 7 am was the last time on the schedule according to the CGI official on ground, and the last person on the queue (from outside) was already in the waiting hall before I was done with my interview (around 9 a.m.).

Bottom-line, wear something you are comfortable in; It can be a long wait before it get to your turn. Trust me, you don't want to be sweating outside while standing for over two hours. I went in a simple native attire that was free on my body, so I was at ease all through.

He asked me for the official mascot of my school. What I forgot was the meaning of mascot at that moment.
Although I knew what he was referring to.

So let me share my transcript too.

VO: How are you? We are just here to chat.
ME: I'm fine and how are you too
VO: Pass me your passport
ME: I removed my document in between my passport and gave him
VO: No, put the document back and pass them to me. Don't be nervous, Okay?
ME: Actually I wasn't nervous (said this to myself).
VO: What is the name of your school
ME: University of
VO: What is the official mascot of your school
ME: (to myself, I can't remember what mascot means)
VO: He told me the answer and I confirm he was correct.
VO: Why are you going for PhD
ME; I discussed the project I will be working on briefly (less than 10 seconds)
VO: Are you married
ME: No
VO: Do you have children
ME: No
VO: Have you travelled before
ME: No
VO: go get your winter jacket and go pay your reciprocity fee.
Me: Thank you.

The interview was less than 2 minutes.

Congrats again Anybodie

Well done ooooooo

I was the guy that was asked the official mascot of your school. Although I knew what he was asking for but the meaning of mascot was what skipped my memory.

Religion / Re: The Ugly Truth About Jesus!!! by samibk: 11:19am On Apr 06, 2013
bolaino: there's no way anybody arrives at a certain truth in his or her life without being influenced by certain people or certain events,

I presume u're a christian, and there are two possibilities for u being a christian, one is your geographical disposition, (you live in a christian dominated area,) and the other possibility is that you were born into a christian home,

and I can confidently say that u've never practiced anyother religion other than christianity, so my good mann, put urself for one corner,

you dont understand

you dont understand simple thing.... In this life we need a clear cut understanding of things.... Many things that have been told about jesus by some people you need to know why they did that. What is there intention, so things in the bible as been quoted wrongly, i'm sure if i ask you to explain some you cant... So i think you need to sit at the corner and think wisely
