Iamgrey5: So you believe Cross River accounts for 30% of cocoa in Nigeria and it doesn't have a single plant processing Cocoa all this while.
Oyo state has the FTN cocoa processing factory since 1991 which is listed on the Nigerian stock exchange
Ondo also has one
Osun also has one. don't mind the reporter and the guy you quote |

“South East does not have a functioning and operational industrial cluster. Unfortunately, most of the industrial layouts have been converted to estates. While the DAWN Commission in the South West has done so well for the region in promoting investments, our own South East Governors’ Forum Secretariat, which ultimately should serve as the think-tank, seems to be more political than it should be. on the record, DAWN means Development agenda of western Nigeria setup by Afenifere with her headoffice at cocoa house in Ibadan in 2011. DAWN initiated the Amotekun, they are the ones that insist that South west states will resume in August and will write waec before the federal government finally agree that waec will hold in August |

omazus: This is eye opening. It is a pointer to the type of politics we play in SE, that is, the type of leaders we elect. SE believes so much that they can do everything for themselves and pay little attention to what can be gained from others. Unfortunately lazy leaders like this approach. It gives them opportunity to steal and live the people wallow in their self conceived omnipotence. Read the wrote up very well. Even your leaders are concerned. |

OfoIgbo: OK, let me go slightly further.
Any Igbo man reading this should be seated, lest you break your computer screen or kick your shoes at your TV screen.
There is a place called IPONRI, in Lagos. For those who understand modern Yoruba writings IPO in Yoruba will be pronounced as IKPO in Igbo.
Igbos at times go by the title ONO NA IKPO AKU, which means SEATED ON A HEAP OF WEALTH. Basically IKPO means HEAP in English.
Now getting back to my tale, in IPONRI, there is a shrine there till today, which is maintained, exactly the same way the Umu Nris maintain shrines.
What this means, is that Nris (Igbos) made it to Lagos in ancient times. With this in mind, IPONRI now assumes a different meaning as it would have meant NRI JOINT or NRI SETTLEMENT or NRI HEAP.
It was an Oba in Agukwu that informed me of this in Dec 2019, and I had in mind to visit the place and look for this shrine, unfortunately Coronavirus had other plans for the nation
What I am trying to say is that Igbos made it way past Ife. Igbos are extremely ancient people .. IPO In Yoruba is condition, heap in Yoruba means aso. This your history ooo this thread has been derailed anytime you wanna create yoruba - igbo history mention me. Cos this rubbish you're writing, I need to check your brain |

AreaFada2: Oh boy you just dey form Nri supremacy story.
Take permission from Nri?
Benin was a place where every kingdom had what today would be called an embassy. Though not permanent structure as today but regular envoys.
It's no secret that noblemen and princes from far and wide came to understudy Benin administration, culture, and monarchy.
You can focus on Igbo cultural renaissance without trying to claim Edo like Yoruba are doing.
They want the shine of Benin history. Claiming to have controlled Benin is an attractive but dubious short cut to relevance. When put in their place, they call Benin is 2 x 2. Why bother about and scramble over "2 x 2"?
When pikin drag something and e nor reach him hand e go say I nor even want am before sef. I guess post Biafra war Igbo were too busy pursuing individual wealth. Now it's becoming obvious that history and culture are vast inexhaustible wealth on their own.
I wholeheartedly support any group researching and bringing their culture, art and history to the fore. Igbo culture is important to nearby cultures of Edo, Yoruba, Idah, Idoma, Efik/Ibibio, Izon, etc. . Don't mind them they're claiming Yoruba too now. We and you guys, we never settle matter, we still dey on top each other like superiority or where each other come from, Igbo con enter the matter saying we're from Igbos |

OfoIgbo: Thanks Obalatule for reeling out those most Igbo of practices that Benin got from the Igbos (Umu-Nri). I'm already aware of most of them except the EGHO.
Let me just expand a little bit on ODUDUWA. English = Them Anambra Igbo = Fa Imo/Abia = Ha Anioma = Wa
Bear in mind that these activities were happening across the Niger i.e just beyond ANIOMA. So WA becomes the pronoun. ONYE ODUDU WA = Their leader
BINI itself was coined from the Igbo phrase ILO OBI INU, which basically means THE ROAD/WAY OF (BITTER HEARTS)/ANGER.
The first Oba of Benin was Oba IWEKA, an Nri titled man. OBA is a title in Nri and it doesn't mean KING. Now the IWEKA appendage will usually be an alias. So obviously he took on an alias that described the inhabitants of Benin (Ilo Obi Inu). Every Igbo man knows the meaning of IWEKA (IWE means ANGER). For some reason the name has been corrupted to EWEKA. The SW almajiris have also muscled into the argument by claiming that Bini is the short form for Ile-Ibunu. All these twisting of history has come about because Nri in its heyday, was a pacifist cultural society.
In the past, every Oba of Benin or Attah of Igala must be made an Ozo by Nri priests, as princes before they mount their respective royal stools.
I have heard the Isu, Igwekala, Kamalu e.t.c tales in the past by a prof. from Imo state, but I have never heard my people (The Nris) talk about it, and the deep traditionalists in my clan have never mentioned them, so because of that, and the fact the it is hard to prove, I normally do not bring up that issue, as I will not be able to back the tales up with proofs. That doesn't mean it didn't happen. It simply means I cannot back them up with existing evidence. which kind of lies is this. How can you make claims you cannot prove? .. I think you wanna destroy this thread by including Oduduwa and Yorubas |
