FrLukas: I was amazed when I saw the Yorubas in Benin Republic agitating too on YouTube. They spoke fluent Yoruba and fluent French.
Amazing.
If we can just get Yoruba Republic that will also constitute our brethren in Benin Republic and Togo and Ghana, that would be awesome. Togo, Benin and Ghana would be impossible for now. |

IgboSomalia: I argue based on facts not, emotions. How would Igbos use Kaduna and Kano for Exports when the financial parameters of Kano show that Kano's Exports dwarf the Exports of the SE? What of revenues from Kano?
Reliance on imports kill an economy, exports grow it. Any sensible government would prioritise exports over imports. I'm not reasoning with emotions bro. You talk about agriculture. South east also export agriculture. They produce steal or so in Anambra it can be exported. What about those in Aba, it can be exported. If you're talking based on agricultural only. Kano and Kaduna will beats SE. But check the parameters the guy asked us to use. |

Aq IgboSomalia: All the imports the East do, how much does it add to Nigeria's economy? The Agric exports the North does, how much does it add to the economy? That is the first thing to ask.
The North needs a rail line to facilitate exports so that Nigeria and Nigerians make more money.
The East needs a seaport closer home to facilitate imports. A seaport closer would also decongest Lagos. The poster said, which should come first. If they have rail, it doesn't mean they won't have seaport. Lagos and warri has seaports and rail. So what are you saying? Do you know how much federal government generates from imports? I maintain that Lagos to Calabar should come first before Kano and Kaduna. Nah Igbos go even use Kano and Kaduna maybe 30% They will export items from alaba to Kano. |

mamaafrik: Two friends of mine one from SE and the other from North central brought an argument to me recently and i decided to throw it open to a wider intelligent audience about Lagos-kano and Lago_calabar rail line so i can arrive at my answer. When looking at the following factors:Economic,Financial,Tourism , Historical ,Administrative and social-cultural benefit accrued to the execution of these projects and the present factor at play of one already having an old gauge.
There is paucity of fund to face Both at a go,you can only execute one at a time ,which do you think should be executed first between Lagos-kano and Lagos-calabar route. Let's put ourselves in our leaders shoes this time, imagine you are a a project engineer and also and project accountant at the same time. Kindly explain reasons for your answers Lagos to Calabar first because of the trades/economy/ tourism/social culture factor and administrative. It will serve the entire south east and port Harcourt, But Lagos to Kano, will only serve Kano and Kaduna. Both states don't imports up to east esp Anambra, Abia, port Harcourt, Enugu and Imo. Even the shoes in abia and cars in Anambra can be moved outside, spare parts will be able to be imported also. |

fkj950ax: When I saw that in the article, I skimmed through the rest.
The number is wrong. There are more cars using that bridge daily. Way more than that. Imagine cars parked side by side on four lanes for 3-4km. You'd need more than 100k cars to achieve that. And that's during peak time. Off-peak time figures of and evening peak time again.
According to a traffic report on Third Mainland Bridge in 2002, the number of vehicles in both directions recorded in 12 hours was 180,902 vehicles, which may have doubled or tripled after 16 years. https://autojosh.com/third-mainland-bridge/ Haa, they need to decongest Lagos. The population should go to port harcourt or Akwaibom or Calabar. |

Firespitter: A state with all the national assets situated in it, can not be "just a normal state" you guys should get sense.
Budgeting over 1 trillion naira with nothing to show for it is unpardonable. As long as lagos is in Nigeria, we will continue to criticise the Alausa and bourdillion thieves that are milking the state dry.
Lagos is not your state, it is a state in Nigeria for Nigerians. What about Abuja, I skimmed through your post history. The last minister of Abuja bala, did you critize him when he stole billions of naira as a minister? You've never critize it. What about port Harcourt? |

It's good that he has gotten some sense now Lagos state is just a normal state like Evey other states, critize your own state and your governors not someone else state. Meanwhile you've never critize the minister of FCT |

Yes, I haven't heard about Ikewerre until I navigated to nairaland. Yes, I spent days in port Harcourt. Lol, will I be asking them are they Igbo or not since they bear Ameachi? Tell me the part of this country where the use of these type of names, Ameachi, Wike, Nkechi, Amara, ifeayin is attributed to? If you go to warri South (Itshekiri area) as a novice or someone that has never been there before. You heard names like omobola, Olu, Femi. In honestly what would be your thoughts? |
