Education / Re: JAMB Opens Portal To Check Where You Are Posted For Consideration by sammyashons: 12:49am On Jul 12, 2016 |
Hello people! Just felt I should share my thoughts about how this posting has been done so far. Personally, I've noticed that for competitive courses, especially at highly competitive universities, those with quite high utme scores are the ones that have been posted to be considered for admission. Nonetheless, some candidates with lower scores have also been posted meanwhile those with higher scores haven't... and these people chose same course at same university. What these findings suggest to me is that jamb has sectionalised candidates based on merit, catchment area and elds. Basically, what I'm saying is this; taking the University of Lagos and Medicine and Surgery as case study, let's assume there were 10000 candidates who applied. What jamb does is to group these 10000 based on catchment, elds and merit. Now, jamb uses the quota this institution has for MBBS to send candidates' details for admission considering. What this means is, if they have a quota of 100, jamb would send 100 candidates' details to them based on the 45% for merit, 35% for catchment and 20% for elds. Now, these candidates will be those who scored the highest in each of those categories. This makes sense because now, the institution isn't left with the responsibility of sieving out candidates which normally would have been done through a post-utme exam. I really cannot say what the fate of the 9900 candidates left will be, but I'm thinking they would be posted to other institutions whose capacities aren't filled up. NB: This is purely my opinion and is not meant to trigger fear in anyone. This is not an official statement on how this whole posting is being done. I wish everyone all the best and success in the end! 13 Likes 3 Shares |

Career / Re: On What Basis Are Officers In The Nigerian Navy Promoted? by sammyashons: 1:43pm On Sep 18, 2014 |
Orunto: Yes! They are paid like Pilots. Risky jobs demands risky remunerations, so their salaries include "death allowance".Thanks a lot, please, do cadets who finish at NDA go directly to the navy or how exactly is it done? |

Orunto: On the basis of education, skill, goodness, loyalty, expectation, perseverance and authouritative responsibility. You cannot present a soul that shoots clumsyly and ask me to promote him or her. The answer is No!Thanks, any idea on how they're paid? |

beatsbyj2g: Wat was d answer to no. 1 calculations aspectsWell, for the first one, I just did VR= distance moved by effort divided by distance moved by load which is 4÷2 and so I got 2. The other one, I also used Ef=MA/VR ×100 1 Like |
