Deeper Life Bible Church Discipline A Worker Because He Celebrated His Birthday

Good morning and happy weekend Nairaland, a friend who is a member of deeper life bible church here in delta state was disciplined for Celebrating his birthday without disco music and Alcohol, he works with the church, as a mater of fact news got to the leaders and they stopped him from working with the church were he earns his leaving as well as relief him of his duty as a choir leader.

my people where in the bible that it's a sin to celebrate birthdays?

The chemist is in Lagos, and I nolonger live in Lagos. It was back in 2015 I had the issue. I already left the description to the place on this thread...it is very easy to locate. I feel it is better people go there and see the man themselves instead of trying to get the name of the drugs.

Let me tell you something, your mother is more important than your pastor on this issue. She should be the one you should inform and she will help you in prayers

sammyk sounds like a deeper life. well I was delayed unnecessarily because I told her first and she accepted. when I was asked in the committee of elders the reason for telling her first, I told them it's because I don't want to be rejected, cos I have seen many brothers close to me rejected by sis.

You know quiet well churches are guided by laws, some are biblical and others are self driven...

Nice One, I don't know if it's biblical, because they will tel you that you must follow biblical standards. It's like this, the pastor will confront the sister with a mask identify of the brother and see if God has reveal the name of the brother to the sister

Depending on the doctrines of your church... But to me I belive you'll tell her first... It's better to face rejection from her personally than getting it from the committee of elders

Just like a university, when you are there, you must play by the rules, some churches are against it
