Christianity and Persecution Daily believers are persecuted (maltreated or killed) in different parts of the world primarily because of their faith in Christ. The question that comes to mind is that " why will a caring God allow his followers to be maltreated? " And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life Mark 10:29-30 Persecution can be general; where all believers in a particular place or organisation are maltreated or an individual as a result of his / her faith in Jesus. Pray for your persecutors But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Matthew 5:44. 4. Support believers passing through persecution by praying, giving, visiting or writing to encourage them when it is possible.
