deji2009: Given all the diagnostics you've carried, my advice is to get an externalusb hub. connect
it to the port that works and connect your other device through the external hub
that way the problem is resolve. I'm not satisfied to go ahead with the remote support.

You don't seems to understand my point. They can work with any device that have power adaptor, but, they don't work with anyone that draws it's power from the USB hub and i did some test and detected it seems the power supplied to them are not enoug. How can i connect with you with Teamviewer?

deji2009: go to device manager and right click
each of the device underneath universal
serial bus controller and click uninstall
them and restart your pc wait for the drivers
to install itself then test.

Try the usb device in safe mode and see if it would
work. use f8 on startup to get to safe mode and
restart to log back to normal windows
have you enable the usb legacy support in the bios ?

have u try your devices on another computer


when you click the + sign right click on each of them and
look for properties then power management. if no joy

Restart the computer.
When the first screen displays, press F10 repeatedly

until the setup screen displays.Use the Left Arrow and
Right Arrow keys to select the Advanced tab. Now use the

Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys to select Legacy USB Support .
Press Enter , select Enabled , and then press Enter .
Press F10 to save settings and exit. The error message should no longer display.

look for hp update on your computer and install all update

Thanks. There are three in all. One work perfectly, remaining two only works with devices with external power source, like printer, scanner, etc, but, not with Memory Sticks, Modem, external webcam, etc they won't even power..... please help

type indevmgmt.msc and click each + sign
next to [b]each [/b]universal serial bus controller

go to power management unchecked the
allow computer to turn off these devices
try that first I'd see what comes to my head by tomorrow

I meant the two of the three USB on my laptop only works with printer and scanners, but, won't work with modem, flash memory, etc. They worked normally before until two weeks ago.
NB: I believe they only works with devices with external power source.

How did you attempted upgrading the bios? Which method did you used to start your upgrading, Window or DOS? You can try using the DOS method, i mean the "Press any key to boot from CD...." method. State your PC specification. For the updated bios, you can visit the PC manufacturer website to download the updated bios version.

What's the clock speed of your PC and what's the processor grade? How many time have you formatted the hard drive? The more you formats an hard drive the less the speed, until it stops working. It's not all about RAM. Using 4 Gigabyte RAM on Pentium IV PC is like a professor lecturing a 7 years old child, he can't know more than his brain, it can't perform more than Pentium IV.

The laptops came with WINDOWS CE 6.0 i.e WINCE 6.0 factory installed O/S and 2gb hard disk memory.And I'll like to install windows 7 or XP operating system on it and will appreciate useful info with tech savy guys on how to get it done

Simply go and get genuine Windows 7 bootable OS and get external ROM reader to format and install a fresh copy of Windows 7 on them... But, it will be better if you can let professionals handle them for you...

Everytime i inserts the modem into the laptop, it keeps installling the modem, even if i remove and insert it again, it always installs it. if you dedictae one port to your modem and it still brings up the installation, then you should think of re-driving your "Modem" under the device manager
