Indians are a pretty racist bunch, their contempt for black people knows no bound. Violence against women is commonplace and they treat it as a normal thing, if not until of recent where most female advocacy groups started protesting against domestic violence. I won't be surprised if the authorities sweep this matter under the carpet.
