CoronaVirusPro:https://www.archives.gov/research/military/vietnam-war/casualty-statistics#:~:text=April%2029%2C%202008.-,The%20Vietnam%20Conflict%20Extract%20Data%20File%20of%20the%20Defense%20Casualty,casualties%20of%20the%20Vietnam%20War. |
CoronaVirusPro:Are you aware the US lost over 58000 troops in Vietnam and still lost the war? So its not really about the superiority of the weapons. |
Mynd44:Well, I think they don't want the technology behind the multi role fighter jet to fall into the hands of the enemy, they'd rather have it rot. |
Mynd44:F-22 by law, is not to be exported to another country not even their strongest ally - Isreal. Though the F-35 can be exported. |
Ikaeniyan0:Army wey never fit crush a rag tag Book haram, Iswap or even unknown gunmen. |
Kenmatt:Those are necessary when you're fighting a conventional war, but Nigeria is fighting an asymmetric war at the moment, the enemy is highly mobile, adopt guerrilla tactics and are missed with the local populace who are meant to be protected. So what is really needed is Intel ( both electronic and human) to distinguish the good guys from the bad and precision strike. |
Curse777:Even Colonel is political, because once you're through with Staff college in Jaji ( Senior Division) you hang Lt- Col, after that any promotion is based on quota system and federal character. I served in 82 Div Enugu and witnessed a peculiar situation where a Lt - Col ( Salihu) was still on that rank whereas his course mates were Cols and Brig Gen. The reason was that, in his state of origin ( Kebbi) they had many generals who were still serving. Unless they retired, they would be no space for him to attain the next rank. So he stagnated on that rank. The Army doesn't want a situation were many Generals would come from a particular area like you had with the Langtang Mafia. |
From the body posturing and language she appears to be the dominant partner. The groom looks laid- back and subservient. Omo it looks like na she go de run things for the house oh! |
What most applicants are not aware of, is that your fate has been decided even before the interview. The consular officers are usually given quotas. Those quotas are used to determine who gets the visa and who's declined. Secondly, when booking for the appointment, make sure you use genuine supporting documents eg bank statement, transcript etc. If you're using an agent to do the booking ensure that he/she gives you a copy of the completed forms so that you'd be conversant with it. Those applying for B1/B2 visa class ( travel/tourism) stand at an advantage if you have a good travel history. I.e. you've travelled to many western countries or you have a very fat bank balance or proof of funds. If you don't have sufficient travel history ensure that the person sending you the invitation has a good job or is of reputable social standing, good credit, or not a felon. The sure route ( in my opinion) to getting Visa if you're a young person is the F1/F2 student or dependent visa category. It has a high success rate. When applying to schools, pick government owned institutions or Ivy league schools ( Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford etc) Or schools like Louisiana state university, Michigan state or reputable HBCUs ( historically black college and universities) also ensure that you've paid some of the fees . This goes a long way to convince the consular officer that you genuinely intend to come over for schooling. Lastly, most consular officers are trained to look out for inconsistencies. That's why its important to memorize the answers to the questions asked in the form. Once they observe something not in tandem with what you've filled, instantly a red flag goes up. You can be declined based on that, irrespective of whether you have enough supporting evidence/documents or not. That's why its imperative that you're truthful at all times. Applicants are deemed to be a flight risk if they don't have strong country - tie. Eg you're not married, or have a good job/ business or something that will ensure you'll come back to Nigeria if you're given a visa. So in most cases if you don't have a strong country - Tie, there's a high probability you'd be declined. In summary, it's not what you say or don't say that determines whether you're given the visa. The consular officer already knows if he or she is going to give you de visa even before you appear. The interview is mere formality. |
Report the Bastard to Ahmed Isa of Human right radio. |
meum:This people really take us for fools ![]() |
olaolaking:I won't bother dignifying you with a robust response since you lack the intellect to engage in an intellectual discourse. I would have reeled out Statistics of how many of those jets acquired and names of pilots who became casualties but I see say you're not worth my time or sweat. |
JONSYN7154:No mind that Muntula, he don see where papa de measure prick with pikin? ![]() |
olaolaking:Go and learn how to spell "Liar" correctly, then I'll consider if you're worthy of getting the facts. |
That F-7 Jet is a flying coffin, I've lost count on the number of those jets that have crashed since purchase. |
Na today? |
nighthawk1:Most Defence Attaches are Col or Brig Gen equivalent, it's most likely he got promoted to AVM while he was still a defence attaché. |
Bringbackmandat:Why? Do you know how much it cost to train an officer to the rank of an AVM? So because of political expediency, you'll do away with the all the collective experience, skill and expertise at the snap of a finger? |
So he was a highlander while at the Academy? Abyssinia rocks. |
NOETHNICITY:I beg to differ to your opinion that military officers struggle in the field of intelligence, each of the various services have their own intelligence arm and they're numerous military officers that have distinguished themselves in the field of Intelligence. Of note is Gen Gusau rtd. The man was so indispensable that the government of Obasanjo, Yardua and GEJ retained his services at different times. |
DeLaRue:They would not openly disobey Ribadu, but they would not give him full cooperation or openly set him up to discredit him and make him appear incompetent. For instance, We all witnessed how Gen Burantai, and Air Marshall Sadiq as well Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas treated Gen Moguno (NSA) who was completely sidelined in the day to day affairs of their various services. They procured military hardware and equipment without recourse to the NSA. It got so bad that Moguno had to write that damaging Memo which got leaked to the press. Imagine he wore the uniform like them, he was even their senior, but look at how he was treated! How much more a blinking police man. For those quoting AIG Ismaila Gwarzo, they fail to remember that it was a Military regime, and the office of the NSA didn't have to interface much with the military because that role was covered by the CGS and CDS. |
Moblux:Please who was the police officer? |
Maize247:How is it balanced when there's little or no representation from the South - South and South East? |
The Appointment is a bit fair, Most Presidents choose Chief of Army staff from their regions, at least since 1999 it was only Obasanjo that appointed a Benue man - Gen V Malu. The last Yoruba man appointed COAS was Alani Akinrade ( over 40 years ago) So appointing Gen Lagbaja is not a bad call. Secondly, Appointing Ribadu as NSA is not a good call because the Military brass would not defer to a Police officer, we all saw how it went with Sen. Musiliu Obanikoro when he was made Min of State for Defence. His orders were flagrantly flouted with disregard. Ribadu would be treated with disdain or would not receive the full cooperation of the military brass. Another sore note is the appointment of Hadiza Usman ( El - Rufai's girl friend) we all knew how it went down when she held sway at NPA. She is yet to clear the corruption charges levelled against her by Rotimi Amaechi. |
sogodihno:I am not talking about Peter Obi, in fact Atiku stands a better chance, but am only saying if the election was free and fair would Tinubu have won genuinely? |
Confirmedzombie:I would have dignified you with a robust answer but your monicker makes me think it would be an exercise in futility. |
Shantyken:Talk true, for your conscious unbiased mind you really believe say Tinubu really win the election? |
tinsel:No be Naija we de? |
emekajacobogbon:Of course, the court will make a joke of itself. They will not disappoint. Justice has already gone to the highest bidder. Just watch as they will uphold the election of Tinubu. Those Justices don cash out tey tey. |
TemplarLandry:Which discretion? Whatever happened to putting a square peg in a square hole? Let's call a spade a spade, This reeks of nothing else but Tribalism. |
The guy is "Ninja Man" in "Third world cop" movie. Bombaclaat! |
