The global super-rich are flocking to the Kenyan capital Nairobi to snap up additional luxury homes that sell from Sh80 million, according to a new report by property consultants Knight Frank.

Nairobi’s high end real estate allure is also pulling Africa’s most moneyed tycoons, according to the Knight Frank Kenya inside view Kenya report.

“The country (Kenya) as a whole is among the top five most popular second home locations for Africa’s wealthiest,” says the report released recently.

Kenya is also on the radar of high net worth investors from Europe and USA led by British buyers who represent 63 per cent of foreigners seeking properties in the country.

South Africans are the second most buyers of Kenyan homes at 16 per cent, followed by Spaniards, Mauritians and Americans.

‘‘We also see a sizeable number of Italians and other nationalities drawn to the coast around Malindi, Watamu and Lamu, as well as the countryside such as in Nanyuki, close to Mount Kenya, and within private game conservancies,’’ the report noted.


Italians have topped the list of high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) buying prime residential properties in Kenya, according to a Knight Frank report.

HNWIs from the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, New Zealand, the US and France also prefer the African nation as second-home destinations.

The report said that the expensive suburbs of Nairobi and areas along the coastline are in demand by Italians, followed by Britons and Americans.

Elections in Africa are hardly free and fair without inducement, coersion, manipulations or violence. Even in the USA. Remember the Florida recount of 2000 or is it Russians hacking USA election cyberware? Or the mafia buying votes for Kennedy in 1960? But this Nigerian 2023 election is quite peaceful and fair. But a lot of the youth are miscalculating the grievances of the youths which pushed them to vote Obi as general factors. They forget others even among the youths are Very calculating when it comes to electioneering. Obi will come third. Even if the elections were conducted by angels with swords of fire, Obi could not win. Maybe he'd come second.

I never supported Obasanjo, never voted for him despite belonging to the same tribe. But I do not support Obi because his track records in Anambra where he was governor for 8 years pale beside Tinubu's records in Lagos. It's not about tribe. Politics should be about momentum, atmospherics and optics. Things you can feel and see.

Benue was always possible because of their Popular Governorship candidate, the Reverend Father Alia nicknamed "Yes Father" coupled with the hatred for Ortom in PDP who was a disaster as a Governor.

He is loved all over Benue and have been campaigning for APC. This is why they say politics is local not only online.

As for Rivers State, it was clear to me the moment Wike employed new 200,000 special advisers some months ago. Labour party may have won PortHarcourt and the urban areas but not the many local Government areas dedicated to Wike. Also in the riverines even enemies of Wike like Asari Dokubo were all united on delivering Tinubu.

Both Rivers and Benue were clear to me from like a month ago.
