Eko City was started in 2003!!!!!!!!!!! A kid born the same year is now in university. And the city is still two lonely towers. Nairobi in those 18yrs has totally transformed. The problem with Eko and Lagos - there is overcapacity - because of the largely informal economy. You cannot build a city without figure out how people will move in and settle there.

Those lonely towers are very likely empty as we speak. There is very little construction activity. And at that pace of construction - it will be not ready in 2050.

A proposed project can die, launched project can die, but approved project is so difficult considering the fact that some people have already placed their shares on it.

The tower started back in 2020 but due to court hindrance the approval was denied.
So the condominium team have been fighting until victory was awarded.
The investors have money and everything in place, H young, the construction company which are doing Avic towers in westlands will be the one to handle that project.

Before any massive building breaks ground, the live site cam should be on site to oversee the progress from scratch.
And yes, the cam was fixed back in 2013 when ground breaking commenced.
The cam will operate till the building is done, even if it will take 10year,( which is quite impossible in kenya)
