Aren't you supposed to be ashamed of this? Since 2013/2014 report still has it that your paved roads are less than 10,000km since independence. Yes our road infrastructure could do with improvement. But it's like our power situation a few years ago. We began from a very low base...about only 12% of kenya had electricity in 2002....by 2006 I think we had around 15%...then we kept doubling...and doubling...now we are looking at UNIVERSAL electricity access.

Kenya has good road network. The problem is % of paved roads. Otherwise rural roads are well maintained if not mostly murram.

We had about 15% of road network paved...compared to say Singapore with 95%. The last five years - we have built about 10,000kms from a low base of 12,000kms...so in 5yrs we probably doubled our paved network. We intend to complete 30,000kms of paved roads in the medium term.....

So yes while you're stuck and getting worse & worse....we will move our paved road network from 15% to 30% to 60% - before this thread ends.

Samrobo, Kenya most settlement is small corridor along the Kenya-Uganda railways (3/4 of population) - and in villages you find electricity, piped water and all amenities you'd find in town. It's not nigeria - where the villages look lso bad.

All these are from my village...private home, farm and small tea factory.

There are research studies out there on the same - their electricity connection includes those with generators. On average they have electricity of 10hours - 14 hours in good places - 0/2 hours in the bad places. In the South it's about 6hrs. It's THAT BAD.

In nairobi connected homes get electricity for less than 10 hours and outside nairobi with the except of maybe mombassa the rest is total and absolute darkness..it's that bad

Here in enugu I have not even heard, or perecieved generator fumes for the past two days and I am not even in the city..I am 1 hour 30 minutes away from the city in one cool quiet town

I also saw the land the were using to develop their airport city and some chinese folks there,and the affordable housing units. The city looks like one of all this Greece city or anyother european city that arranges low rise buildings on hills, and moutains with road cuting through and across those moutains

Kenya data is accurate as of 2017. Now it should be way up - and we have census data to compare soon. Nigeria is obviously a fat lie based on apparently on household survey of 2015/2016.Their data do not cross-reference with electricity customers as per their discos. We know all their electricity distro has 8M customers/household out of nearly 40M household. Kenya power has 7M out of 10.7m households. Tanzania have 2M customers.

Anyway that is not lagos island but oshodi on the mainland and it is not a cbd but a market called "OSHODI OKE" I think...The pics even looks cool compared to the horror I witnessed last week when I plied that route for the first time in 4 months(the traffic and broken road. Oshodi road is in a bad shape because of the giant construction of the bus terminal which has not even be completed and the road construction going on around the area. Roads are blocked and that market is the newest route among so many tight cornered .so many vehicles plies that route so yes expect it to be bad for now until all constructions from road to bus terminal is completed ..
