Lagos 20M figures like Nigeria population figures are grossly exaggerated. Census found out only about 8M people in the entire Lagos state.

Now talking of largest port - Mombasa has bigger port than two ports of Lagos. Nairobi JKIA handle more passengers and aircraft that Lagos airport.

None of them claim to be 100B GDP based on that alone.

Kibera and all Nairobi slums were all started in 80s - by Sudanese Nubians who found themselves illegals in Kenya - and there is rarely any new slum you'll see.

Look at your brand new slums - in few years - Joburg, Capetown and name them will be sprawling slums. Already 1/3 of cape-town are slum dwellers - and the numbers are increasing.

As for this project it might get funded by private sector and be backed by LASG same way they are doing with ilubirin...I have pics of sanwo checking out some prototype sample in China early this year..

if you say Lagos is 60-70% slums then I think you need to give the criteria for slums. if you are saying that Lagos has kibera levels of slums in abundance that's not true. makoko is the place I can best describe as being like that however if an American says we have a lot of slums based on where he is coming from I would agree cos some of the poorest American areas or projects are just like a lot of Lagos neighbourhoods
