The reason why there are no super tall skyscrapers in Eko Atlantic, is because the project is being executed in phases. And there are height restriction laws in specific parts of the project. But Kenyans probably wouldn’t understand that cause their cities are not made that way.

You don't proof the obvious. Westland district host the only UN HQ in the global south. Nairobi's south follows - hosting karen/Langata/upperhill-ngong-road-but most of it's is occupied by Nairobi National Park.

Nairobi's Larger Westland District is without doubt the richest district in Sub-Sahara Africa outside South Africa. Westland contributes to more than 50% of Nairobi wealth. If you split Nairobi into North, East, West and South.

Westland host the UN HQ in Gigiri.

Westland consist of Apart from being a commercial centre, Westlands is also one of the eight administrative divisions in Nairobi. The division consists of the six subdivisions

The far end starts in UN HQ in Kitusuru division - consist of high end estate in Muthaiga,Runda, Gigiri, Rossyln, Nyari, Redhill, Peponi road, Kitusuru, Lower Kabete,Kitusuru and Loresho. These are mostly low density upper class resident. Rent here start at minimum at 2,000 dollars a month - to more than 5,000 a month. Houses here start at minimum 500K dollar..but many are more than a million dollar.

After that you cross the forest - over Parklands-Highridge - westland CBD itself - to the north of Mombasa -Uganda highway. This is low density area turned high density. Lots of apartment. Rent here is minimum at 1,000 dollar a month. It's now turning into a business district

When you cross the highway - you go into rich neighborhood of Riverside (last bomb attack happened), State house, Milimani, Hurlingham, Kilimani, Lavington, Kilelewshwa. This is mixed area. Minimum rent is 800 dollars a month...but in many places - expect to pay 3-5K dollars a month.-Riverside and part of Lavington are damn expensive.

You're now doing what Nairobi did in decades time and still mastering on it. meanwhile, Lagos State government has now realized the benefits of greenery they are actually renovating existing parks and green areas, with a long-term goal of expansion. Many good quality buildings are interspersed across the areas where shanties and other ugly facades structures were protruding. Nice move though, that's the spirit. .
The fore-and-aft tect of most of your bulding including your tallest structure is not appealing at all. the spires and antenna that supports its aesthetic condition has worsen everything. I can site few examples of what am talking about, I guess this debate will hold water if we bake it up with pics.
I just want you to observe the final facade of what I'm talking about. The realm of upperhill will speak volume.
On the lagoon part;, you can't be proud of the same section when your state has failed to maintain, is it not the same lagoon that stings the entire Lagos to the high abroad? .

Skyscrapers; having skyscrapers ahead of us will not dispute the fact that your skyline can't match Nairobi., the entire real and realm of your city is not mind boggling to the strangers eye when skyline is figured out. The few skyscrapers you have no one can match those in Nairobi in terms of quality., remember the aesthetic is one aspect that is aided by them and one of our structures once received emboris award.

I will be glad if you give out the per capita figures. Money flow will definitely make way through huge population but when we dig dip into the city aesthetic, zoning e. t.c you'll realize Lagos is nowhere close Nairobi.

If you take note of that key factor which is core in urban planning, you'll realize Lagos is failing dismally. It focus mostly on Buldings codes, blocks , streets to the structures. The final facades that most of your buildings are can't withstand it. The zoning laws that allows shanties to protrude from the city centre has atterly tempered with aesthetic view of Lagos.
Urban sprawl which is quite tremendous in Lagos has spoilt everything, the reason for slum growth is due to that.
Should I also talk of unique environmental positions?, Nairobi is unique as it holds national park, one of the only few cities in the world.
Nairobi is the sixth most dynamic city in the world, forget all the brt, commuta R, e. t. c., we're just unique the way we are.
Skyscrapers are unique features that you guys don't want to hear, I will let that slide.

Don't forget the sharp rise in slums, congestion, disorder, ugliness, and threat of disease which will provoke a reaction in which sanitation wrecks havoc.
The shanty which I have posted here before is clear indicator though. Your city is nowhere close to Nairobi though economically you're definitely ahead due to numbers but then again when HDI is factored in, you still lag behind[/s].
