I sent them several mail and they finally replied that I should come pick.. started mailing them close my intended travel date

No I don't live in Lagos but presently in Lagos because I intend to depart(God willing) few days after picking up my passport

The embassy/consulate of a country in another country is regarded as a sovereign soil! Once you step into the premises of The German Consulate/Embassy, you are on German soil and you are bound to the laws of Germany. Only German holidays are observed in the Embassy/consulate. Oct 1st is NOT a German public holiday. Instead, the reunification day will be observed at the consulate. FYI, Julian Assange of wikileaks is wanted by the UK authorities and has been living in asylum in the Ecuadorian Embassy (foreign soil) in London since 2012.

Yes they do observe October 1st. Are they in Dutch Land that they won't observe our laws.

Embassies don't have to abide by laws of their host country especially when it has to do with public Holiday's. embassies are seen as sovereign state within a nation. its why the Nigerian Police force for instant can't arrest anyone within the premises of any embassy.. But don't know if the German embassy observe Nigeria Independence Day though

Please, which courier envelope did you use?

I used DHL before o, apparently something was wrong with my prepaid.. now I have to wait till Tuesday as Monday is public holiday

They didn't replied the mail. They called him on phone that his visa is ready for collection.

They just mailed me that my document is ready for pickup

What was their reply? I have since mail them on the said 26th of September and they are yet to reply

I think it all depend on your travel date. A friend submitted last week Friday and got a call from the Consulate on Wednesday to pick up his passport and documents.

My travel date was suppose to be September 26th which was two days

Sent mine on Thursday via courier and it got there this monday and up till now no word from the embassy. I have friends thats submitted that Wednesday and yet they have not heard anything too

You don't have an issue bro, you should get it today or latest Monday.. I believe you date started counting from Monday, making today your fifth day. submitted mine by hand, so it started counting Monday last week making today the 12th Day

I am having similar issue, submitted last week Monday 17th and yet to hear from them.. Did you submit at the gate of the consulate or you used courier?

Hello house,

I did my interview about two weeks ago with a passport that is going to expire within a year. can I go do renewal and send the renewal to the embassy when they request for my passport, know that biometrics was done with the old one and immigration may likely collect the old one as the only visa in it is to an Africa country which isn't significant to me.

Also,

A friend did his interview last week Friday, only for him to misplace his international passport in transit to IMO from Lagos state. can he do a new one and send to the embassy with a police extract and court affidavits when he hopefully gets his AM?
