Try rooting with FRAMAROOT installed on your phone.
But on PC, download VROOT and enable USB debugging on your phone become connecting.

I recently bought a neat z10 which happened to be a clone from a pal here. the phone came with a BB pin and bb z10 boot animation. it is a complete replica of the bb z10.

at first I thought the OS of the z10 has been switched to android since the phone runs on android 4.3.

I did factory reset on the phone on Sunday thinking the OS would revert back to bb10 O.S so I can utilise glo bis on it but to my surprise what I saw after reset and reboot was a stock android boot animation logo on start up.

i checked my imei and got an "invalid imei" response. I couldnt make calls or browse with the phone.

well after much researching, I had to implemented a frameroot on the device .the root fixed and recovered my imei, this morning I injected a bb imei on the Z10 clone also & am currently using glo bis on it.

my problem now is the z10 boot animation. I don't want my friends who use z10 to know that my z10 is a clone even though my android is more sophisticated than the real BB z10.

pls how can I change get back the z10 boot animation logo?

I know that it is possible to change boot animations.

can any guru in the house give me a link to where I can get z10 boot animation.

thanks
z10 boot animation logo can be searched for online and downloaded in a zip format. Then with CWM installed on your phone, your install it as an update. Albeit,it must be packaged in the same way the original files are.

Got the stock ROM via ... But after flashing the ROM on the phone , it still don't come up
Sometimes, those downloaded stock ROMs are incorrectly packaged.I prefer you get someone using your type of phone, backup the ROM using MTk droid tool and create the files to flash by clicking the !PREPARE BLOCKS FOR FLASHTOOL and then flash using SP FLASH TOOL.
Bet this will work best for yo.

please brother I've downloaded the apps you mentioned but I still don't know what to do with them, could you be a little more explicit
Open Root Explorer, go to data, look for LOG-OTHER-MODE,delete all the files inside.Next go to system, look for drop box and do the same .Search for tombstones and delete everything in the folder.
SD MADI APP works very cleanly too.Download the SD MADI PRO /SD MAID UNLOCKER to make it work wella. It is very clear, CORPSES FINDER, APP CLEANER, SYSTEM CLEANER are some of the buttons in it.

Thanks for your response Bro, but hw do I locate the ES FILE EXPLORER? where do I go to do this? I'm confused! more so, I don't knw much abt the phone. I just need to get this done. Do I need to go thru using
mobile uncle tools? I'm a novice pls.
Yea, I Downloaded a ES FILE EXPLORER,I checked the Host File with "etc", I opened the File & could only see the code u wrote..." 127.0.0.1" with localhost after the code. can't find first nor 2nd line...what next do I need to do? I was told File can't be written...
If the phone is rooted, download SD MAID APP AND SD MAID UNLOCKER PRO , analyze your phone using the buttons provided, sure it will help you clean up unwanted files.

Kindly help me... My techno h5 is no longer booting after a auto format using sp tool..... The phone is not rooted
Why format in the first place?
Before formatting , did you make a backup of the Stock ROM?
You don't just go about doing stuffs to your phone because you've some softwares to play with!
I guess you formatted without ticking the ''FORMAT EVERYTHING EXCEPT BOOTLOADER'' option. FastFingers bro.
Well, the only option for you is to look around for anyone using the same type of phone with you ,back it up and flash to your phones.
Alternatively, search online, especially (forum dot dot com)!

Pretty easy to fix that bro.A blocked I.P has been written into the host file on your phone.Use ES FILE EXPLORER to browse the root of your device.Go to a folder named ''etc'' and open the ''host'' file using a text editor. Clear the second line, leaving only the line that contains 127.0.0.1.Save it and close.Go to your play store and boom.....you're there.

"Some apps like"? No app is unmovable except system apps.I even deleted system apps that I don't fancy. If your phone is rooted, download ROOT EXPLORER ,go to DATA and click log_other_mode, delete all its content.Download SD MAID APP too and clean up unnecessary files.

Hi Gurus,
I use Tecno N7 but 3 days ago, some unwanted applicatns like zero launcher, app master, phone cleaner automatically download each time I switch my data on. If I try to install, it shows parsing error or something like that...It's sucking my data besides I'm scared they might be malwares as well. It might not be unconnected to the fact that I use mobogenie for downloads as my google play store doesn't respond. The problem began after I downloaded and installed an app that manages battery. The app suggested I try anoda app that helps free up space which I installed. It's after this that those useless apps began popping up. Despite uninstalling these apps, the problem hasn't stopped 'tho I haven't uninstalled mobogenie. Can the mobogenie be responsible?I need urgent help plz. Hope I won't av to do 'factory reset'.
Though factory reset maybe the best option, downloading apps that hibernate an app or prevents an app from accessing the network might be an alternative.
Download these apps to do either of the two;
1. NOroot firewall
2. Greenify
3. Lucky app manager
They can help you to freeze or completely disable an app.

Bro, stop spending your cash tracing this calcare guys or uncertified engineers!
What you changed is just a part of the system files in your phone.
All you need do is to back up your corrupted ROM on PC and then, the run st is history.
I Bricked my phone while changing the boot animation and it gave me practical knowledge on how android technology as related to phones are packaged.I fixed my phone myself while I was charged #10,000 by Tecno Calcare!Imagine!
So, download MTK DROID TOOL, PDANET AND SP FLASH TOOL.
back up the corrupted ROM and I will upload the font system app to you which you will use to run place the corrupted one in your phone's backup and then flash back to the phone. That's all.

If you are not going to use PC,then mobile uncle is the closest alternative.
Use MTK DROID TOOL on PC using the NVRAM backup/imei button to back up and change OR download MOBILE UNCLE ENGINEERING app to change using your phone. There is also a software that can create imei files you can put in the root of your phone to replace the original imei. So, which way do you want to follow?

I've tried to use framaroot application to root this phone but every time attempt to do so, it keeps telling me that my phone is not vulnerable to the exploits by the app. I've also tried a host of other apps like vroot, srs root, and so on. Atm, the phone seems unrootable.
Why not try using a system?
Install PdaNet and Eroot on your system
enable USB debugging
root your phone

Probably, there may be too much logs written on the root of your phone, ranging from kernel logs to event logs. Also, tombstones files are written every time an app crashes and drop box files are written countless times.
Maybe this could help ;
Root your phone
download root explorer
click Data and access the log_other-mode folder, delete all the contents or change permissions to read only by long pressing each of the files.
Go to system, click Tombstone folder and delete all.
also click drop box folder and delete all too.
SD MAID APP is a very good app to clean your phone too of unnecessary files.

If the phone is rooted, just use ES FILE EXPLORER OR ROM TOOLBOX LITE app to access the ETC folder and open the HOST file using a Text Editor.Edit it by deleting anything inside, only leave the first line containing 127.0.0.1 local host.Save and exit.Restart your play store and you're good to go.

Both apps refused to root d phone o, can someone help.
Steps to root you android phone without a computer:
Step 1: Download the Framaroot app from the link provided to your phone or computer.
Step 2: Copy downloaded Framaroot app from your computer to your internal storage or external SD card. (follow this step
only if downloaded to computer)
Step 3: Enable ‘Unknown sources’. Go to Setting >Security and then check the box next to ‘unknown sources’.
Step 4: Install Framaroot app from the apk file.
Step 5: Open the Framaroot App and Select “Install Super Su”
Step 6: Select an exploit. Every phone has a different exploit so don’t worry. First, try the first exploit. It will work for 90%.
If you fail, don’t worry. Your phone has not bricked. Try the other exploits.
Step 7: If you see a “Success … Superuser and su binary installed. You have to reboot your device” message then you have
successfully rooted your phone.
Step 8: If you see “Failed … Try another exploit if available ” message, don’t worry. Your phone has not bricked. Try the
other exploits. If none work then your device is unsupported .
Step 9: Once rooted (and rebooted), you can install a root checker, such as Root Checker , to verify whether your phone or
tablet has been really rooted or not.
Step 10: You will also find a new ‘SuperSU’ app icon (see screenshot). This will manage any ‘Superuser’ privileges that you
grant to any apps (which is a fancy term for being able to access the root folder and other root functions) . This is mainly
done automatically: many apps will detect that your device is rooted and request Superuser privileges, or will do so when
you try to access functions that require root. You can manage these Superuser privileges from the SuperSU app (see
screenshot).
Step 11: If you need to access or manage your root folder, there is a FREE file management app, ES File Explorer but you
will have to configure it for root access as detailed below (see screenshot).
What happens if all exploits do not work? Will it cause any damage?
No, it will not. Nothing, will happen except that your device will not be rooted . I tried to use ‘Framaroot’ to root my
friend’s Lenovo A850+ unsuccessfully and moved on without changes to his device. You can install the app in your
android device and check out if it works, the app won’t brick your phone as it does not touch your kernel, nor flash
anything.

NOROOT FIREWALL
Android: Most of the apps on your Android device probably require
a data connection, and you may not even know when they are
sending or receiving data. NoRoot Firewall puts you in control of
Internet access for apps, as well as how they can access it.
As the name suggests, the app doesn't require you to root your
Android. Instead, it creates a VPN and diverts all the traffic on your
phone through it. This way, you can choose which traffic you want to
allow and which you want to stop. When any app tries to access the
Internet, you'll get an alert where you can allow or deny it and save
the setting for the future. This level of control can also let you see
when a certain app is accessing data for ads and block it.
NoRoot Firewall also gives you the option to set up filters, both
globally as well as for individual apps. Much like a VPN on your PC,
these filters let you allow or deny connections to certain IP addresses.
My favorite part of the app is in its ability to specify if an app can
access the Internet only over Wi-Fi, only over 3G/Data, neither or
both. It gives you the control to tell your Dropbox or Play Store to
only download when you're on Wi-Fi, or set some other app to be
active only on 3G.
There's some bad news for 4G users though as NoRoot Firewall does
not work well with 4G at the moment. And I'd like to issue a word of
caution: while I'm using the app, those who are a bit careful about
their privacy may not want an app that gets control over all the data
transfers on their device.

IMEI Replacement Method
This method involves the use of MTK droid tools and is only applicable
when your SIM cards are detected but IMEI is invalid or null. To do
this:
1. Download MTK droid tools
2. Download PdaNet
3. Enable USB debugging on the phone then connect it to the PC (don't
enable mass storage)
4. Install PdaNet on the PC with the phone connected; you should get a
message saying drivers installed successfully.
5. Extract then launch MTK droid tools on the PC (still with phone
connected to PC)
6. MTK droid tools should detect and display your phones details
7. Click on IMEI/NVRAM
8. Supply the IMEI(s) then click replace
9. Restart your phone if it isn't automatically restarted
10. Your IMEI issue should have been resolved
NVRAM Restore Method
* Note that you need a working phone of the same model to backup
NVRAM first
1. Download MTK droid tools
2. Download PdaNet
3. Enable USB debugging on the GOOD phone then connect it to the PC
(don't enable mass storage)
4. Install PdaNet on the PC with the phone connected; you should get a
message saying drivers installed successfully.
5. Extract then launch MTK droid tools on the PC (still with phone
connected to PC)
6. MTK droid tools should detect and display your phones details
7. Click IMEI / NVRAM
8. Click Backup
9. When backup is complete, open the MTK Folder > BackupNVRAM to
confirm that backup was successful
8. Connect the phone with Basebrand / IMEI error to the PC still with
MTK droid tools open
9. Still under IMEI / NVRAM, click Restore
10. Select the appropriate files from the windows that pop up
11. Reboot the phone once the procedure is complete
