Fembleez1: Semi-final tips.
This composition is for Science student but Arts and Commercial can take one or two things from it.
Some people still haven't come to grip with themselves UI won't allow calculators. You better come to terms with that.
I believe anyone who wants to write UI post-UTME next week should be done reading by now. Cause there is virtually nothing to read again.
This week is a revision week, and should be expended on time management. It's a mock week as well, if we all still remember what 'mock exam' is.
Physics for many is very hard while for others, it is cheapay.
Yea.
-Just do the subject you know very well first, -Or the one that would be easy for you, -And won't take much of your time, -At least 30 to 45 seconds on 1 question, -Skip the one you don't understand or grab what the question is talking about easily from/at first read, -Move to the next, once you read a question, You'll be able to know whether it is simple and you can answer it, -If otherwise, move to the next question in no time. -When done with those you are sure of, go back to the ones you left undone, and start turning your head over those ones. -Try as much as possible to attempt all questions or subject. -If you waste time on Maths alone or Physics and leave Chemistry and English undone, you've virtually failed, (this is not a fact, so don't quote me anywhere). -So you have just 1week left to time yourself 30 seconds per question, know which one you can answer easily from this week. -If Use-of-english won't take more than 15minutes or less to answer the 25 questions, -Then, how many can you take in answering 25 Chemistry questions? 15minutes too or less? -Then if you are able to use just 30minutes on 50 English and Chemistry questions, You have 1hr for physics and Maths. And Count that 1hr as just 45minutes.
If you're going to use real time (wall-clock, wristwatch) to test your readiness. Give yourself 45minutes for 100 questions. But if Stopwatch, 1hr. University of Ibadan's time is like stopwatch. Even some guru's would finish before exhausting the time given. So be sincere with your timing at home this week and you'll be happy at the end you did.
For my bosses who all have been bombarding one another with questions on here, it's time to make use of your Cue-dependent memory or Recall. You must be able to recall that argument you had with someone here on a particular question or what correction Rursh pointed out or what EngrBello said to be the perfect answer to 'Chem157' question. You've scored yourself cheap marks if you happen to come across such question on D-day.
Final tips in one week's time.
My email is still adefemi.george@yahoo.com for personal questions, while UI helpdesk or admission office numbers for anything relating to school and registration Ui.edu.ng
Bye for now. Thanks boss, God bless! |

Aybalance: Thanks sir.But how did u arrive at Tcos30...Am a bit confused sir..Why not Tsin 30..I dont get how it is decided...I really need explanations sir When you draw the diagram, and since the angle is measured from the vertical, you will see that the horizontal side is facing the angle which makes it the "opposite", the string at which the tension is acting through is facing the 90° which makes it the " hypotenuse " which automatically makes the third side the "adjacent" since you're resolving vertically, we make use of the adjacent and hypotenuse and that's "CAH" Cos∅ = Adj/hyp, adj is the vertical component adj = hyp cos∅ adj = Tcos∅. And I no be Sir oh |

What is the final temperature of the gas if both the pressure and volume are doubled? @Samuelizz This should be 899°C after converting T2 back away from Kelvin .. But I saw different ans in the Ui PQ and a Jupeb PQ T = 20 + 273 = 293K 1/293 = 4/T T = 1172K T = 899°C 899°C is the right answer |

Resolving the tension vertically = Tcos30 since the body can't move vertically, the vertical component is at equilibrium. Tcos30 = 20 T = 20/cos30 T = 20/(√3/2) T = 40(√3/3)N. |

I'll be very grateful y = sin(2x² + 3x - 4) Let u = 2x² + 3x - 4, du/dx = 4x + 3 y = sinU , dy/du = cosU dy/dx = dy/du × du/dx dy/dx = cosU × (4x + 3) dy/dx = (4x + 3)cos(2x² + 3x - 4) |

Hardebaryor: Vx = Ux = 10ms-¹ Please explain this equation From one of the motion equations.. v = u + gt Ux is the horizontal component of the velocity but since the horizontal component is not affected by the acceleration due to gravity,g, then g = 0, g only has an effect on a vertical motion.. Vx = Ux + gt, Vx is the final velocity.. but since g => 0 Vx = Ux + 0t Vx = Ux. Hence, from that it is deduced that the initial horizontal component of the velocity is the same as the vertical component of the velocity |

Ajet001: 2) Frictional force, Fr= 20N (the horizontal force just sufficient to set the block in motion)
Applied force, F = 40N (when the initial force is doubled)
Net force/Accelerating force,
Fa =F - Fr= 40 - 20 = 20N
Mass, m = 4kg
Acceleration, a = ?
Recall that, net force, Fa = m*a
Therefore, 20 = 4a
a = 20/4
a = 5m/s² Ese sir  |

1. KE is converted to PE ½mv² = mgh v² = 2gh. h = 5cm = 0.05m v² = 2(10)0.05 v = √1 v = 1ms-¹ 2, the acceleration doubles when the force doubles, since the mass is kept constant. 3. y = vertical component, x = horizontal component V² = U² + 2gh 30² - 10² = 2gh h = 40m. H = ½gt² 40 = ½(10)t² t = 2√2s. ( time taken for the journey) Now to the ball thrown horizontally, Vx = Ux = 10ms-¹ Vy = Uy + gt.. Uy = 0, since the ball was thrown horizontally, the vertical component is zero Vy = 10(2√2) Vy = 20√2ms-¹ V = √(Vx² + Vy²) V = √(10²) + (20√2)² V = √(100 + 800) V = √(900) V = 30ms-¹ 4. KE = ½mv² = ½m(20²) KE = 200m PE = mgh = m(100)10 PE = 1000m % = 200m/1000m × 100 m cancels out with annoyance.. % = 0.2 × 100 % = 20% 5. mass of water = 5 - 4.26 = 0.74g mass of anhydrous salt = 4.26g Mass of water/mass of anhydrous salt = 18x/molar mass of salt 0.74/4.26 = 18x/208 x ≈ 2( the number of molecules of water) Mobuoy19: Good morning guys, please I need help with these questions.
1. Th highest point of a simple pendulum bob is 5cmvertically above the lowest point as it swings to and fro between the extreme ends. At what velocity does it swing past the equilibrium point where the string is vertical?
2. A force of 20N applied parallel to the surface of a horizontal table is just sufficient to make a block of mas 4kg set for motion. Find the acceleration when the force is doubled.
3. A physics student standing on the edge of a cliff throws a stone vertically downward with an initial speed of 10m/s. The instant before the stone hits the ground below, it id travelling at a speed of 30m/s. If the student were to throw the rock horizontally outward from the cliff instead, with the same initial speed of 10m/s. What is the magnitude of the velocity of the stone just before it hits the ground?
4. A body rolls down a slope from a height of 100m. It's velocity the foot of the slope is 20m/s. What percentage of its essential potential energy is converted into kinetic energy.
5. 5g of hydrated salt of barium when heated to a constant weight gave 4.26g of anhydrous salt with a molecular weight 208. The number of molecules of water of crystallisation in the hydrated salt is?
Please someone should me, I sincerely apologise for bombarding you with these questions. I just need help and there's no where else I can get it from.
