A SELF DECEIVING COUNTRY CALLED NIGERIA Twenty-one senators currently receiving pensions from government as ex-governors and deputy governors. The current senators who once served as governors are Bukola Saraki of Kwara, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano, Kabiru Gaya of Kano, Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Theodore Orji of Abia, Abdullahi Adamu of Nasarawa, Sam Egwu of Ebonyi, Shaaba Lafiagi of Kwara, Joshua Dariye of Plateau Jonah Jang of Plateau, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto, Ahmed Sani Yarima of Zamfara, Danjuma Goje of Gombe, Bukar Abba Ibrahim of Yobe, Adamu Aliero of Kebbi, George Akume of Benue and Isiaka Adeleke of Osun. The former deputy governors in the Senate are Ms Biodun Olujimi of Ekiti and Enyinaya Harcourt Abaribe of Abia. Danladi Abubakar Sani served as the acting governor of Taraba state. Many former governors are also in Buhari's Cabinet as Ministers. This includes: Ngige, Fayemi, Amaechi and Fashola (SAN).). In Akwa Ibom State, the law provides that ex governors and deputy governors receive pension equivalent to the salaries of the incumbent. The package also includes a new official car and a utility vehicle every four years; one personal aide; a cook, chauffeurs and security guards for the governor at a sum not exceeding N5 million per month and N2.5 million for his deputy governor. In Rivers, the law provides 100 percent of annual basic salaries for the ex-governor and deputy, one residential house for the former governor “anywhere of his choice in Nigeria”; one residential house anywhere in Rivers for the deputy, three cars for the ex-governor every four years and two cars for the deputy every four years. It is alledged that in Lagos, a former governor will get two houses, one in Lagos and another in Abuja, estimated at N500 million in Lagos and N700 million in Abuja. He also receives six new cars to be replaced every three years; a furniture allowance of 300 percent of annual salary to be paid every two years, and a N30 million pension annually for life. This is the reality for all the 21 ex govenors and deputy governors who are currently serving as senators. This same is also true of ex governors who are now serving as Ministers. NOW I ASK: How many years did these guys serve their states as governors and deputy governors? Is it more than 8years? Is that a reason to be entitled to pensions for life? Even if they are entitled to pension for life, must it be so outrageous? As if that is not enough: HOW on earth can any public servant with conscience collect salaries and allowances as a senator or minister, and still have the audacity to claim pensions equivalent to the salaries of a serving governor in Nigeria? IT ISN'T ROCKET SCIENCE...... Once you are elected a senator or appointed a minister, you must forfeit any pension accruing to you from government at any level until you vacate office. This should also apply to senators collecting military pensions like former Senate President David Mark. Yet these senators are in the Senate that is inviting the current finance minister to discuss the recession of Nigeria's economy. A senator pockets approximately 30 million naira monthly as salary and allowances. Our "honourables" are not interested to make laws that could restructure our country into economically autonomous federating States/Regions to save the country from sectional agitations that is threatening to destroy Nigeria. The sad and hopeless situation is that the rest of Nigerians are busy arguing based on party, ethnic and affiliations while these enemies of state continue to rape us. Do you know that it costs tax payers 290m Naira yearly to maintain each member of our National Assembly in a country where nothing works & 80% of population earn below 300 Naira a day ? A working day earning of a senator is more than a yearly income of a doctor; it's more than the salary of 42 Army generals or 48 professors or 70 commissioners of police or more than twice the pay of the US President or 9 times the salary of US congressmen. It's high time the country had a referendum on those outrageous salaries of Senators, House of Representative members and other political office holders. *If you are seriously against the looting of our commonwealth in Nigeria, in the name of democracy, you can let this piece go viral by sharing it with as many of your contacts and groups too!*( copied) Dr Bello Diran |

stevetop:Bros be careful when you make sensitive comments thousands of people in Nigeria and outside are reading .How did you arrive at ' Stellenbosch is a racist ?To say an academic institution is a racist is very fallacious statement. And you are resuming to the ' racist ' school January ? And this same school gives million of rand to black students .I spent time there I didn't see any racism . 2 .How did you conclude that Kwa Zulu is not safe ? Have you live there before or based on what you read online? .We have thousands of Nigerian living in Kwa Zulu and more than 30 on this forum and they are not facing any racist attack ,so far you are not coming to SA for drugs business and Yahoo you have nothing to fear just be security conscious . Let us be careful what we post here there are people from other countries reading comments . |
Kentrasso:The yellow fever you used in your first application is okay . |
Ariel20:For long time Visa you need to provide proof of residence not hotel booking. You can mail your school for this or any one in Capetown can assist you with proof of residence.Although some people used hotel booking and they were lucky but most time it can lead to rejection . |
Kentrasso:Today is 19th why not book appointment earlier next week if you have all docs ready .December 11 appointment is too close to Dec 17 and there is no assurance the visa wil be ready within 5days.Atimes it takes two weeks while for others 5 to 7 days the days are not fixed .My opinion submit this November .You have to book appointment online and make payment . |
For those who are good in Math,Accounting and sciences this the best time to apply for teaching jobs across schools in SA .Check gumtree and apply as many places .When you see SA citizen not getting jobs ,it is not that there are no jobs but some are not qualify and those that are qualified won't take lesser salary than the salary structure of ministry of labour, unfortunately most new companies / schools cant start with such demand ,hence the need to employ foreigners . |
Kentrasso:Please the appointment with embassy ? Have u submitted ? For study visa or tourist ? |
EUGENE846:Immigration at POE not interested they only confirm visa and atmes hotel reservation . |
Ariel20:momentum and compare are okay ,compare is the cheapest .Plan to share a room a lady if you have not gotten accommodation .The city is quiet expensive but it has high rate of employment for students . |
[quote author=Swith post=51101047]. Thanks brother and i appreciate your kind response. Although am not a graduate of science courses, I graduated from banking and finance but am a good barber so if i apply for critical skills work permit with the certificate of barbers association then do you think i can get the visa or do you have ideas about business visa. Ur kind response again will be appreciated .Nothing is critical about barbing . |
47xxx:You are right ,if the German coach was not employed you won't see kelechi and Iwobi playing our local coach said they are not mature for eagles call |
femiaction:Absolutely correct |
elijah101:What does a young man want to do with medical visa ? If he is not banned that will be a miracle. He shouldnt ve overstay in the first place .Hope he learn lessons . |
olusegunthomas:A word is enough for the wise ! Visit SA and go back home .As the name implies " visitor visa " means you can't stay or change status. More importantly apply for work permit in Nigeria with clear evidence that you have the critical skills r and some technical skills are accepted .You must provide document or certificate to show you have the skills .The employment chances for foreigners have reduced ,however if you have the skills with favour of God you may get employment or you create job for yourself. This is not automatic .I remember a guy on this forum who came to SA with his wife and son .The wife got a good job after 3months while he didn't get any but he used his IT skills to design flyers ,handbills ,posters and website design to make money .Once you have practical skills to solve problem you will make money from the comfort zone of your room . For instance ,if you can teach Mathematics very well or sciences ,all you need to do is advertise yourself on gumtree and apply to schools and pray hard. Bottom line is *come with mindset to create job because Scarcity of jobs for foreigners very high * Come with study or work permit *Come with Skills * Come with money because no one can assure u of job . *Come with pure mind ,not dubious mind |
Kunleforreal:how do you charge to recover data from flash drive. The flsh drive not visible on all computer or laptop |
bettercreature:Indeed very shameful my brother . |
Femcesc07:I try to send reply but to no avail . |
Mustiboy:Let him hate your mum and let her have peace and enjoy her privacy .Hating is allowed u don't sacrifice your family happiness on the altar of pleasing a friend .Remember no matter what you do for people they wil still complained secretly or openly . |
Final scores 2 for Egypt and Ghana 0 .Ghana chances look slimmer now .They played very well .It will be a disaster if Ghana don't qualify because they have a very good and compact team |

[quote author=Ariel20 post=50928573]Hello everyone, I just secured an admission into Stellenbosh University & I'm looking to commence study by January 2017. However, I am having issues paying the initial fees with my debit card. Who has experienced same and how did you resolve it?You are not expected to pay school fees while in Nigeria ,unless if it was stated in your admission letter. |
wine4dguy:Let him take the passport data page and utility to post office or police station for certification. he knows what to do . |
2grozz:Apply to the school via website. Find out requirement from the school . Lastly find out if you will need study permit for 3weeks course |
wine4dguy:Before stuff like this was hard but recent development shows it is easier with utility bill and well accepted . The letter can be in Form of tenant and landlord agreement .( you the tenant and your host landlord ). Like this format : This is to certify that Mr ...... With passport number ....has been allocated a room in above mentioned flat .This will enable him to pursue his postgraduate studies with full concentration .The monthly rent will be R2000 and a lease agreement signed for 6 months . Regards Full signature here ) Ajala Trump Landlord . Note : Two to 3 pages lease agreement should be attached .Any utility bill from Dstv to house rent in the of your host will be okay |
pat077:There are many short courses here in SA .Google short courses in Mech Eng you will be amazed ,however why not try masters this will give you an edge . |
Swith:house rent depend on the following : location city Facilities Security Some are furnitured while others are not .No fixed amount on rent rate .It varies and mostly monthly ,so that you can change accommodation if you don't like the place . |
2fine2fast:Let your friend draft a letter stating you will be staying in one of the rooms in the flat and attached proof of utility and passport data page .(Certified ) |
wine4dguy:This is not tenable Embassy won't entertain such excuses .Let your friend in SA draft letter stating you will b staying with him and attached utility bill in his name and passport data page . |
morbeta:lol you are right .....nobody want wahala |
Nigerian politicians with deception. How does that solve the problem in Abia State ? With many personal assistants with files wasting tax money ! |
And the senators from South East kept quiet so far their allowances are paid ! It is very shameful for this govt to borrow money after all the billions they claimed are recovered ! The money was recovered on frontpage of newspapers? .In the midst of recession all members of national assembly still collect bogus allowances .Both APC and PDP are full time thieves only a myopic youth will come here to support either of the two. |
