‎Background Insight:
‎I started domaining about 11 months ago. This is my first sale, picked from E.D about 3 months ago.
‎I believe this is an outbound sale because I reached out and followed up today, even though there was no response.
‎I currently have just 8 domains in my portfolio(Of course that number would increase gradually), and I’ve always told myself: what I lack in quantity, I’ll make up for with outbound effort. This is the reward. Alhamdulillah. Big thanks to God and Oga I.K.

The story

I reached out to a few end-users last year when I priced this for 999. No show. So, I hiked the price to 3k when I reviewed some listing prices upwards towards the end of last year.

I received a message from an Afternic broker about a 1.1k offer last month, stating this was an improvement from an earlier 750 offer. This was just a month and a day after the domain would have expired if I hadn't renewed it.

I asked the broker to try and push to about 1.5k. I probably would have accepted that 1.1k if not that I forgot it wasn't the first offer but the first that I was informed about. I always try to counter first offers ever since I got that tip 2-3 years ago - coupled with personal experiences.

After that, the lead disappeared from my dashboard. I thought the deal fell through. I had to use Grok day(s) later for a second opinion on whether I priced the domain too high and got a confirmation that it was fair pricing, so I planned to continue renewing it.

I was informed five days after the initial contact that the buyer agreed to do a maximum of 1.5k. Thanks be to God!

Glory to God! Second Spaceship sale, also with lander pointed to Afternic.

The name originally sold at Afternic for $1488 BIN back in December - 20 days after registration. However, the sale was cancelled due to the 60-day transfer lock.

Last night, I saw an offer of $795 on a BIN of about $1374 - I usually reduce prices at Spaceship. I countered with $1200 and the buyer accepted in matter of minutes. His payment was confirmed this morning.

Of course, I already had plans to increase the price at renewal (or when I just feel like).

How my 2025 went.

Acquired 280 domains. (106 during one dot com $1.9/2 point something promo, while the remaining from Dreamhost, unstoppable and Z for $5). GEO/EMD. All hand reg.

I've probably worked on around 65% once and yet to work on 35%.

I worked on around 17 to 23 names monthly. Manual scraping and outbound.

Made 7 sales jan, 5 feb, 1 March, 3 April, May 0, June break , July 2, August 6, September 2, October 2, November 2, December 3.

Sold 33 total, all afternic lander. $369 average sale price. Sold only 2 from first email. The rest are offers which could even be at first email. While few are after price drops.

$12,179 before commission.
$9,326 after commission and expenses.

I price 988 for Geo while 1455 for EMDs. I send total of 4 to 5 emails follow up and stop at $300. I plan to do price drops to 150 or 100 when I revisit the domains for second round of outbound however I'll start from 988/1455

I counter or not to offers depending on the situation at hand.

Few tips that might help.

Utilize promos. I would have spent around $2,500 to acquire 280 names but it only cost me $1,117 or my $1,117 would have bought just around 124 domains. Good thing is that I still have domain to be busy on going to 2026.

If I see a niche, I check if there are cities or EMD available using namebright bulk searche. I Check if there are endusers. I find niche through sales reports, while scraping, or just when browsing/surfing the net or in my environment.

While scraping, you can sometimes find endusers email from their Facebook page. If no Facebook page or icon in the site, simply write "Facebook" in the front of the Business name or website in the search bar and search. It would bring out the Facebook page if there is one. Write " owner" or "leadership" if you want to find who the owner is.

Simple sales letter to control spam issues.

You can't just register 3 names and wonder why you didn't make 6 sales. Numbers is a big factor in this game. Register, work it and go to the next.

For every sale report you see, there are handful that didn't get sold.

In everything I use common sense, I evaluate options, consider pros and cons then decided what I prefer.

Everyones journey would be different because our creativity differs, information we have is different, how we assimilate and use information is different... Just do your best.

I registered this domain along with four other .org domains last year to test an idea - I experiment with ideas (and other extensions) occasionally. I dropped two at renewal time and renewed three, including this one.

The domain was priced for $688 in the first year and I even reached out to some potential end-users but never got any reply (I think).

For me personally, .org has better sales potential than .net. This is now my second sale in this extension over the years, even though I don't think I have registered more than 15 or 20 over that time. I renewed only about five of those and did so this year because I only went back to the extension last year for another experiment.

ED picked on Dec 2. Outbounded for $1000. I received 550 offer and I countered with $750. I only ended up selling for $700 due to afternic nonsense money addition.

Name still under lock, that's why it is covered. Money not yet received and name was sold through custom link (only 5% commission)

Keep buying(only "good" names) even if it is just a name a month. Have others hustle but don't EVER leave domaining.

This month I received many "how much" inquiry which they later ghost.

This particular name was listed for 1,250 at atom but when I received an email of asking price I quoted 500 assumed he will ghost like others but asked me for how to pay, that he preferred Godaddy, that's how I became sad suddenly because similar name sold for over $3k. (Certified Roofing Specialists .com)

In summary I undersold it and this is the only name I've regretted underselling and felt it.


But in all I am very grateful to God.

The year was slow not just because of DAN but because of some lapses on my side. Sometimes to get 100naira sef na wahala.

Average sales for geos have been like 2 to 1 sales at most 3 per month. I had two months with zero sales. Tried to liquidate sef, wahala.

If things are going south don't give up yet just keep going sha. Most of those Twitter White ppl na gibberish dem dey dish out I pity ppl wey no code..just engagement farming..they won't drop d real thing. This sub na for for Arab guy abi na French...

No where like home. Everything u need dey this thread. Whether geo or anything else...any other place you can think of na oyo..just read d thread..it's laid bare open. Facts u can relate to as na fellow 9ja guys.

Last last sha, from my 120 Inbound name, I made 1K sale with another 10K so far. My first 5 figures sale(241 sales so far 5year period). I have about 80 outbound names. One sold just now..I don't see the hype people give Spaceship lander(still buggy) & can't convert like than. Seems Europeans have hacked this domain lander thing..look at Fruits.....co but dey don't yet support Nigeria..

Thanks to everyone that answered me. I finally registered a name on dreamhost today. I have set the price and also the landing page to spaceship seller hub. But on the landing page, i can see the "buy it now" price and also "make offer" option.

I want to start reaching out to endusers, but before I do that, how do I turn off the "make offer"option house?
