Considering the fact that the song writer knows his Onions to the smallest bulb inside it, He made himself a talking point Saying
"He will rather drop 5 meaningful songs in a Year than dropping 50 crap songs over a year"
Going by the Garri And Sugar Crooner's point, we also could remember vividly that the famous Cobhams Asuquo just drop his first album this year 2017 and ALL the songs on the album are blessed with luxury of meaningful CONTENTS Despite the fact that Cobhams has been signed to Sony Music since year 2006, he has been very careful so as not to drop substandard CONTENT.

Nairaland / General / Xenophobia: 156 Arrested As S’africa Anti-immigrant Protests Erupt In Capital by Sanyiicrown(m): 7:32pm On Feb 24, 2017
Below is naijatatafo.com.ng’s live coverage of the #ForeignerMarch in South Africa.
1.15pm’ South Africa’s national police chief Khomotso Phahlane says 156 people have been arrested in various incidents during the anti-foreigner march in Pretoria.
156 arrested as S’Africa anti-immigrant protests erupt in Pretoria
According to Phahlane, random acts of violence, looting and destruction of property had occurred during the protest.
However, it was unclear how many of those in custody were South Africans and how many foreigners.
Phahlane said anyone found to have been inciting violence would be prosecuted.
Police disperse the protesters

S’Africa anti-immigrant protesters
1pm’ Recall that President Jacob Zuma had called for calm ahead of today’s anti-immigrant march. However, many unemployed South Africans accuse foreigners of taking their jobs.
The main group behind the protests, Mamelodi Concerned Residents, has blamed foreign nationals for taking jobs and accused them of being involved in prostitution rings and drug cartels, accusations denied by immigrant communities.
South Africa experienced its worst outbreak of violence against foreigners in 2008, when more than 60 people died.
Two years ago, similar xenophobic unrest in the cities of Johannesburg and Durban claimed seven lives as African immigrants were hunted down and attacked by gangs.
12.50pm’ The police are battling hard to keep South Africans and foreigners apart
12.45pm’ Foreigners in South Africa’s capital, Pretoria have stood their ground against a march by residents.
A video shared on Twitter shows one man saying that they do not want to fight but are “ready to protect our property”.
12.30pm’ Reactions have been trickling in following the on-going development.
12pm’ Police have started using rubber bullets and stun grenades on a crowd of what looks like about 200 immigrants who were running along Eskia Mphahlele Drive in Pretoria.
The group is reported to have been running from town to join their fellow countrymen in an area with shops owned by Somali citizens.
Police opened fire on the crowd when it refused to stop with some lifting their hands in surrender while some were holding stones and sticks.
11.55am’ Atteridgeville residents in Pretoria have described how protestors have started to block roads with burning tyres ahead of the planned anti-immigrant march which was scheduled for today, February 24.
11.30am’ A large group of protesters has left the township on foot and is arriving in the Pretoria CBD. This comes on the heels of violence in Attridegville this morning.
Numerous roads have been closed as police confront the demonstrators, firing rubber bullets to disperse them.
Hundreds of protesters are expected to march to the Home Affairs Department to hand over a memorandum which outlines grievances against foreigners.
Police officers from across Gauteng have been deployed to monitor the anti-immigrant march.
March organisers, the ‘Mamelodi Concerned Residents’, say it’s unfair that the violence is now being blamed on South Africans.
11.00am’
Foreign nationals gathered ongoing in Pretoria for the #ForeignerMarch
Following approval from the Tshwane Metro Police Department, the Mamelodi Concerned Residents has organized a protest against the illegal immigrants in Pretoria on Friday, February 24.
Tshwane Metro Police Department said that after much consideration it had decided to give permission for the #Foreignermarch to go ahead in Pretoria, but with conditions.
Xenophobia: Over 1000 protesters take to the streets in S’Africa (LIVE UPDATES)
Around 1,000 people are presently gathered on the streets, and the organisers said they are not targeting foreigners but the South African government’s controls over immigration.
The march takes place with a backdrop of attacks against foreigners across select sections of Johannesburg and Pretoria.
In recent weeks, homes and businesses have been torched and looted in the name of stopping crime committed by foreigners.
The actions have been fuelled by both the sentiment that foreigners are committing crime in South Africa and that they have been able to economically prosper where locals have not.

Celebrities / 6 Nigerian Musicians Who Have A Side Hustle Apart From Music(you Must See #6) by Sanyiicrown(m): 11:46pm On Feb 23, 2017
Back in the day, there was a worrisome trend among Nigerian artistes. Those who were in the limelight and considered to be rich because they are the ‘rave of the moment’ would become broke just a few years after no longer being in the limelight. The sad trend would be amplified should a life threatening ailment befall such artiste or his standard of living became quite deplorable. Then our internet would be filled with cries for help and claims about how the industry is unfair and does not recognize the contributions of the said artiste to it’s growth.
Thankfully, this is fast becoming a thing of the past. The new generation of artistes have taken heed to the advice of getting a side hustle. Music might be paying the bills but these artistes have used some of that money to invest in businesses that would supplement the moneys they make from music. Infact it now seems that once an artiste makes it with music, they never again go broke in their life time.
We went digging to find out the side hustles of some of these Nigerian musicians some of them you may know already, some might just be as surprising to you.
Here are 5 Nigerian musicians who have got a paying side hustle apart from the music:

1.Eldee The Don
Eldee is a long time Nigerian rapper who relocated to faraway United States for greener pastures.
Side hustle: Playdata. Play data is a an online technology that keeps track of the amount of times a particular song is played on radio. This helps artistes and radio advertiser to track revenues. Playdata is also the source of some of the data used in charts on popular Nigerian music sites. Check them out here.

2. Mr Eazi
Mr Eazi has always been a businessman. Before the music, he used to sell gold in Ghana, organize campus rave parties and even ran a defunct phone trading company which got about $30,000 from investors.
Side hustle: phonetrader.ng – another phone trading and repair startup which he runs in partnership with Airtel.

3. IllBliss
During my previous interview with him on Buzz’r TV , IllBliss told me (off camera) that he regards himself as an investor. He claims music does not pay the bills. Prodded on what his side hustle,IllBliss said he’s an investor and has a couple of Uber cars. Cool one!

4. 2Baba
Someone predicts 2Baba will retire from active music in 2017 (we’ll only watch and see). As for his side hustle, y’all know 2Baba runs the popular Club rumours which has branches in Festac Town, Ikeja GRA and now Victoria Island.

5. D’Banj
The Koko master might be struggling musically but his bank account keeps getting on the rise. D’Banj has leveraged the ‘Koko’ brand to come up with succesful ventures like the Koko Garri, Koko water etc. Plus he’s got huge endorsement deals with power brands like the Bank of industry.

Nairaland / General / Photo/video News: Nigerian Businesses, Church Burnt In South Africa(xenophobic) by Sanyiicrown(m): 10:13am On Feb 19, 2017
Nigerians in South Africa are living in fear once again after renewed Xenophobic attacks.
The new attacks which started in Pretoria West at about 4 am Saturday, has seen natives looting Nigerian-owned businesses and a church.
Ikechukwu Anyene, president, Nigeria Union, said intelligence report suggests that that there will be more xenophobic attacks against foreigners on February 22 and 23, and already he has advised members of his union to take precautionary measures.
“As we speak, five buildings with Nigerian businesses, including a church have been looted and burned by South Africans.
“One of the buildings is a mechanic garage with 28 cars under repairs, with other vital documents, were burned during the attack.
“Also, the pastor of the church was wounded and is in the hospital receiving treatment,” he said.

Politics / No Vacancy In Anambra Central – Okonkwo, PDP Chieftain by Sanyiicrown(m): 11:47am On Feb 18, 2017
Dr. Obiora Okonkwo contested the last PDP primary for Anambra Senatorial seat. He has been in courts seeking to prove that he won the exercise. In this interview, the politician spoke on last week’s Supreme Court ruling that threw out the suit by Senator Uche Ekwunife. Ekwunife had earlier challenged the Appeal Court judgment that nullified her election. He also shared his thoughts on other issues including the APC government, survival of PDP and the next Anambra governorship poll.

Last Friday, the Supreme Court threw out Hon. Uche Ekwunife’s case on account of lack of jurisdiction. What is the implication?

The decision in itself does not entirely take care of the Anambra Central dispute. It only answered to Uche Ekwunife’s appeal to the Supreme Court to review the final judgment of Appeal Court, which we all know is the last court of jurisdiction on any post election matter. It was expected, those who should know, knew that the Supreme Court had no jurisdiction to even look into that matter. It is a constitutional matter. I knew the case would end up that way. It was an outcome that I predicted. If at all it is of any benefit, the benefit comes only personally to me as the authentic candidate of the party. The decision of the Court of Appeal that nullified Ekwunife’s candidacy was like deciding my own pre-election matter. I have a pre-election matter before the court, challenging the authenticity of the candidacy of Uche Ekwunife. After the primaries, I had gone to court to say with all the proofs that, indeed, I am the original candidate of PDP for Anambra Central senatorial district election. To support this claim, we have affidavit for all the members of the panel, the national executive panel that came to Anambra to conduct the primaries. The affidavits were sworn by former chairman, former senators, professors; they are clearly before the court. They are saying that concerning the primaries they conducted in Anambra Central for senate, it was me who won the primaries.

When we heard Uche Ekwunife had applied for joinder, we allowed her to come and defend herself. She came up with a result sheet, which obviously in the new electoral law is the most determinant factor. She came out with the result sheet that purportedly gave her victory. In the same result sheet also, we have been able to prove that even the Returning Officer she claimed had gone to the field to conduct the election, had disclaimed even being nominated to do that job, and that the signature purportedly contained in that result sheet was not his. They were forged.

The panel members also in that affidavit had claimed that they never appointed that individual to do the job and that the only person appointed to do the job was the Returning Officer that returned with my result sheet, which was declared authentic for the victory.

This matter has been there before the election. She has been to the Appeal Court, and the Supreme Court because of the other technicalities that are contained in the judiciary process. They are okay. You have to allow people to explore all legal options open to them. Other issues are interlocutory matters where people will want to use some delay tactics, so we are back to where we were. But we are hopeful that something positive will come out of it. But, basically, having gone through the Appeal Court and other interlocutory issues, we are back to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court was about to determine this matter before Justice Abang was transferred out of Abuja last year. Now, the matter remains in his court and the new judge taking over has fixed the matter for February 23, 2017. The electoral law and the constitution have made it very clear that it is the party that wins, not the individual. In this case, the court has said Uche did not win the primary election, so the court has actually joined verdict to our own claim. We are only waiting for any other court to authenticate it, that this is ours. We were not party to post election matter between her and other contestants.

So, as soon as that is done, we have to demand to go and occupy the seat that belongs to PDP in Anambra Central. I am the only candidate who can step into that seat without any election. Therefore, we are declaring for the benefit of those who may not know that the seat is not vacant. It belongs to the original winner of that primary who ought to have been the candidate for the senatorial election. The Appeal Court that nullified Uche Ekwunife election did not nullify the PDP victory; it nullified Uche Ekwunife’s candidacy because she could not prove that she was nominated.

But former Anambra state governor, Peter Obi is also in court seeking to be the candidate of PDP. Isn’t that a sign that PDP is singing discordant tunes?

As far as I am concerned, there is no case in court with the name Peter Obi as claiming any candidacy because you can only claim candidacy if you were part of the primary process. Out of the other aspirants in PDP who were there before the primaries and who went to court after the primaries, I am the only person who has a substantive suit. I am the only man standing. The reason is because I have all that it takes to prove that I actually won the primaries of PDP. So, I am not aware of any case because Peter Obi has no locus to institute a case. However, I am aware that PDP had gone to court and has said to INEC: if indeed there would be any re-run (which is fair enough), PDP ought to have a candidate. PDP has sworn an affidavit to support that case.

What if the court rules that you go through election, would that be acceptable to you?

We will not preempt what the court will rule but it will not be justified with the reality on ground. We should expect that if the court authenticates our candidacy, then the only thing left in law is to say ‘go and take over the seat,’ because part of the consequential orders we are demanding is to order INEC to issue us the certificate.

There are insinuations that the plots of some political personalities in the state are to ensure that no one occupies the seat till 2019, what do you make of such rumour?

It is not out of place for people to plot such, but the important thing for me is that someone who does not win the election will not occupy that seat. And if it pleases God at His own right time, the rightful occupant of that seat (which is obviously no other person but me) will take over the seat. So, we are also watching. There is a high interest in Anambra Central. I can tell you it is the most hotly contested senatorial seat in the entire country.

Have politicians in the district realized that the state is losing a lot over this unnecessary dispute?

You are absolutely right. They are losing. But if you look at the flipside, it is a lot better to fight in court than to fight with guns and knives. Since the election took place, no one has heard that anybody has been killed. Strangely enough, majority of those in this electoral battle are friends; they attend personal functions and visit one another’s homes; they drink from the same bottle of champagne and share glasses and hug themselves. It is healthier that way than becoming brutal and killing innocent people because of politics. That is one phenomenon in Anambra which other states envy. But I wish that by the time we finish this struggle, most people will just sit back, and then count their losses. Probably, that will help them and other people who are coming into Nigeria to know that it is not the best way to play politics.

It appears PDP in Anambra is almost gone, if by tomorrow there is an election, do you see yourself winning on that platform?

If it becomes the very last option, I have no fear. I know that all the contestants are afraid, that is why they are just clamouring that PDP must not have a candidate. They are not talking about the candidate that has been disqualified; they are not talking about the individual that may be aspiring to be a candidate, they are saying so because they know the likely candidate that should be for the election. And that person is me. That is why they are afraid. I don’t have a problem winning the election.

I don’t think we would get to that, though, because this matter is clear. We have to follow our matter to conclusive end. You can’t conduct an election in a place that is not vacant. The decision of the Appeal Court for rerun is based on the information before it.

How do you feel about prominent PDP members in the South-East leaving in droves for the ruling party?

It is normal. While some people are leaving, some are coming in. There is nothing to be worried about. I have seen people leave. Maybe at this point those people in their calculations think their political aspirations or ambitions are better achieved in their new party. This is what is happening for now. Let’s see how things turn out in the future. My prediction is that there will be a lot of movements and counter movements in the Nigerian political landscape in the coming months and years. That is why I am not worried.

Some people recommend that the South-East should have good presence in both APC and PDP. Do you share that kind of argument?

Well, for the benefits that those schools of thoughts believe will accrue from such arrangement, why not? It is a simple thing that you should not put all your eggs in one basket. I don’t think that should be the issue. My own concern is wherever anybody is moving to; you should play the right politics and know that you must not be motivated by your own individual ambition. It must be a place you are going to exercise proper representation and do service to mankind. But if it is just politics, for your stomach, that is where I have a problem.

I really think that PDP is facing its own challenges. I think there are challenges in other parties. If the current leaders of the party have thought it wise to make a presentation of how they think this party can be revived, they are taking the right steps in the right direction. I will not simply discard the effort until I see the implementation and the outcome.

It is not in my nature to undermine people’s effort especially when I know that the leaders are working hard to make things happen. But I know in the coming years there would be more people from PDP moving to APC and there might be more people moving from APC to PDP. That movement will continue. There might be a possibility of even PDP going

African nations performed poorly in the index, with most falling out of the top 100 least corrupt nations.
According to Transparency International, the global average score is a paltry 43, indicating endemic corruption in a country’s public sector.
The agency also noted that the 2016 results highlight the connection between corruption and inequality, which feed off each other to create a vicious circle between corruption, unequal distribution of power in society, and unequal distribution of wealth.

According to the index, Somalia is the most corrupt nation worldwide, followed closely by South Sudan and North Korea.
Transparency International noted that the lower-ranked countries in the index are plagued by untrustworthy and badly functioning public institutions like the police and judiciary. Even where anti-corruption laws are on the books, in practice they’re often skirted or ignored.
Meanwhile, in this latest ranking, the Middle East had the highest corruption incidence.

Sports / Wayne Rooney Could Be On His Way To Chinese League On A £1million A Week Deal by Sanyiicrown(m): 8:37pm On Jan 22, 2017
Chinese Super League officials are plotting a move for Manchester United record breaker Wayne Rooney, according to the sun
Rooney became the club's leading goalscorer after his late equaliser at Stoke on Saturday, and is reportedly being lined up for a whopping £1m-a-week deal by Chinese Super League. The deal would be worth £60m-a-year as officials continue to attempt to raise the profile of football in the Far East.
The likes of Paulinho, Oscar, Alex Teixeira and Hulk already earn huge paycheques having swapped European football for the Chinese Super League, and a Sun source believes United may allow Rooney to leave Old Trafford in the summer.
"There is a belief that Rooney might be allowed to leave United this summer, by which time he’ll have spent 13 years at the club and made more than 550 appearances.
“Even though he’ll have one year left on his contract, it's a good time to go because he is now the top scorer in the club’s history.
“He would probably sign a two-year deal in China and will earn more in that time than he has done during the whole of his United career."
Rooney has previously stated he would never play for another Premier League club once his time at the Red Devils comes to an end, despite being regularly linked with a return to boyhood club Everton.
Rooney has struggled to start consistently under Jose Mourinho thanks to Zlatan Ibrahimovic's impressive form, and has scored two goals and contributed five assists in 16 Premier League games this season.

Celebrities / Inspiring: Heart Touching Story Of Michael Jordan That Will Spark The Greatness by Sanyiicrown(m): 11:40am On Jan 22, 2017
Michael Jordan was born in 1963, in the slums of Brooklyn, New York.
He had four siblings and his father's earnings were not sufficient to provide for the whole family.
He grew up in a poor neighbourhood. Exposed to mindless violence and heavy discrimination in the slums, he saw for himself only a hopeless future.
His father saw in Michael, a lost soul and decided to do something.
He gave Michael, who was 13 years old, a piece of used clothing and asked: "What do you think the value of this outfit would be?"

Jordan replied,"Maybe one dollar."

His father asked, "Can you sell it for two dollars? If you can sell it, it would mean that you are a big help to your family."

Jordan nodded his head, "I'll try, but no guarantee that I'll be successful."

Jordan carefully washed the cloth clean. Because they didn't have an iron, to smoothen the cloth, he levelled it with a clothes brush on a flat board, then kept it in the sun to dry. The next day, he brought the clothes to a crowded underground station. After offering it for more than six hours. Jordan finally managed to sell it for $2. He took the two dollar bill and ran home.

After that, everyday he looked for used clothing, washed and ironed it, and sold it in the crowd.
More than ten days later, his father again gave him a piece of used clothing, "Can you think of a way you can sell this for 20 bucks?"

Aghast, Jordan said, "How is it possible? This outfit can only fetch two dollars at the most."
His father replied, "Why don't you try it first? There might be a way."

After breaking his head for a few hours, finally, Jordan got an idea.
He asked for cousin's helpto paint a picture of Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse on the garment. Then he tried to sell it in the school where the children of the rich study.

Soon a housekeeper, who was there to pick his master, bought that outfit for his master. The master was a little boy of only 10 years. He loved it so much and he gave a five dollar tip. 25 dollars was a huge amount for Jordan, the equivalent of a month's salary of his father.

When he got home, his father gave him yet another piece of used clothing, "Are you able to resell it at a price of 200 dollars?" Jordan's eyes lit up.

This time, Jordan accepted the clothes without the slightest doubt. Two months later a popular movie actress from the movie "Charlie's Angels", Farah Fawcett came to New York for her Movie promos. After the press conference, Jordan made his way through the security forces to reach the side of Farah Fawcett and requested her autograph on the piece of clothing. When Fawcett saw this innocent child asking for her autograph, she gladly signed it.

Jordan was shouting very excitedly, "This is a jersey signed by Miss Farah Fawcett, the selling price is 200 dollars!" He auctioned off the clothes, to a businessman for a price of 1,200 dollars!
Upon returning home, his father broke into TEARS and said, "I am amazed that you did it My child! You're really great! "

That night, Jordan slept alongside his father. His father said, "Son, in your experience selling these three pieces of clothing, what did you learn about success?"
Jordan replied, "Where there's a will, there's a way."

His father nodded his head, then shook his head, "What you say is not entirely wrong! But that was not my intention. I just wanted to show you that a piece of used clothing which is worth only a dollar can also be increased in value, Then how about us - living & thinking humans? We may be darker and poorer, but what if we CAN increase our VALUE."

This thought enlightened young Jordan. Even a piece of used clothing could be made dignified, then why not me? There is absolutely no reason to underestimate myself.
From then on, Michael Jordan felt that his future would be beautiful and full of hope.
He went on to become the greatest basketball player of all times.

How can I increase my own value? I am finding it a very interesting thought. I am sure, you too, will.
