From your write up alone it's easy to see why lawyers are not well paid in Nigeria , you described a lawyer as business man and seem to suggest they only duty of a lawyer is perfecting property sale .

The main reason lawyers are not properly paid is there are too few litigation going on , majority of Nigerians assisted by the police always settle out of court so leaving lawyers to scramble for the few cases left and property deeds ...The only lucrative place is election litigation which has been hijacked by a few legacy chambers already.

Lawyers need to be more creative for example imagine if the lawyer that was hired to incorporate Paystack or Moniepoint asked for shares rather than being paid today they will be worth nothing less than 5 million dollars
