SUPREME COURT DECISION ON PDP APPEAL, AFFIRMATION OF POPULAR WILL OF NIGERIANS

The Presidency welcomes the elucidation of the Supreme Court ruling on the PDP petition.

It reiterates that the onus of proof must necessarily fall on those that challenge the vote.

Allegations must be substantiated if they are to hold, and this requires producing credible witnesses that verify key claims. As the Supreme Court has stated, the case failed this test.

On the issue of qualifications, President Buhari has a long history of service to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The questioning of this fact seems to fly in the face of all evidence.

However, now it is time for the PDP to take up the service mandated by this election.

The legislative agenda of the ninth assembly is ambitious in both size and scope. It is critical the opposition is there to scrutinise bills and policies, rather than preoccupy themselves with unsustainable court cases.

We appreciate the PDP and their candidate for taking these claims to courts rather than expressing them in other ways, but now Nigeria needs a robust and rigorous opposition. The nation needs to move on.

While it is correct to give credit to the courts for affirming this electoral victory-and we commend the courage of the bench to arrive at the right conclusion given manifest and subtle pressures to do otherwise-the reality is that courts were convinced by arguments from the lawyers representing the APC and its candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari that results reflected the true wishes of a majority of our citizens.

President Buhari won four million more votes than his closest rival, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the February poll.

No serious observers have challenged this result. Aand now the Supreme Court has explained why the PDP appeal is unsubstantiated. We hope this finally puts the matter behind us.

We should now grasp this moment to move forward – together.

But I strongly believe There is an author and finisher of our soul

The way people presents it especially Africans makes one to wonder is it same Master of universe they refer to

Having said that same God they claimed to love so much gave simple laws and rules yet we don’t follow

For your question about existence of satan I do t believe

The creator of the universe crearted everything in it

It all boils down to the fact that we'd (not just the politicians but many of us humans) put personal and even party interests above national interest.

They're watching each other's backs, supporting themselves in times of need... But us, the masses? We're not even sure where we belong in all of these.

Bello wins? Wada wins? It's the same class of people. Same attitude, same mindset... And those of us on the other side of the divide maintain the same status.

Vote your conscience, Ohanaeze tells Igbo in Bayelsa, Kogi
ON NOVEMBER 12, 201912:25 PMIN NEWSBY NWAFOR
By Nwafor Sunday
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, has on Tuesday advised Igbo residing in Bayelsa and Kogi states, respectively to vote their conscience.

You’re ineligible to field candidates for Kogi, Bayelsa polls, court tells AA(Opens in a new browser tab)
The group through its President General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro and Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, the Secretary General, alleged that Igbo residing outside Igboland face critical challenges, numbering from untold hardship through harsh-induced environment to imposition of double taxations by the host communities, making it unsafe for them to thrive in their business endeavors

In view of this therefore, OYC calls on Igbo in Bayelsa and Kogi states to use their PVCs and show strength by voting against candidates that would likely not protect their interest.

The group asked Igbo to vote for candidates whose policies will not discriminate against them or their children in schools.

OYC, equally admonished Igbo to vote for someone who will not violate their constitutional rights, irrespective of Party affiliation.

“Igbo should vote their conscience, there’s no Igbo Party in Bayelsa and Kogi States elections”.

Part of the statement reads:

“We have cancelled all endorsement of candidates in Bayelsa and Kogi States ahead of Guber elections holding in November 16th 2019.

“Some people used our name to endorse candidates, as there’s no authorization for Igbo to take side with any candidate.

“It’s the exclusive right for any Igbo with PVCs residing in Bayelsa and Kogi States to constitutional exercise his or her franchise and vote according to his or conscience.

“There’s no preferred candidate or imposed party or any Igbo Party or imposed decision on Igbo to vote for anyone.

“Go out enmass and cast your vote to any candidate of your choice. We urge security agents to protect voters especially Igbo during the Nov 16th elections.”

omenka:
Need a more credible site to confirm this.
APPEAL COURT DID NOT SACK SEYI MAKINDE.

The APC Governorship Candidate in March 2019 elections had gone to the Tribunal sitting on elections petitions asking for the Tribunal to declare him the winner because:

1. Makinde was not duly elected based on lawful votes
2. There was over voting
3. INEC failed to comply with Electoral Act.

The Tribunal however threw out the petition into the garbage can because the petitioner was unable to prove his allegations.

Petitioner now went to Appeal Court to ask ngbo, was the Tribunal right to have binned my petition?

Today’s ruling is in favor of Petitioner as the judges ruled that rara o the Tribunal shouldn’t have thrown his case out.

This has nothing to do with the main case of who is Governor or who should be.

However, both parties head to the Supreme Court for a final judgment
