Science/Technology / Re: Build A Min Inverter by Savotech: 6:55am On May 16, 2015
HWatt:
good day
this is a mini inverter proposed for small appliances like your laptop and a mini standing fan. the power output can be substituted to get high watt. build this inverter your self by this eBook, don't bother about the price is affordable. the inverter might be small but it is powerful if you follow the steps.
am giving it out @ 4000, with this amount you can continue your job even if there is power outage. no need for fuel, or noisy generator, service the inverter your self because you designed it, you see you save more with mini inverter. it is a simple design with clean sinewave output.
you can reach me on 08104220069.

Where is the link to download d book. Do u think nigerians are dull? U didnt even specify maybe a prior knowledge is needed. Millions of circuits on inverter is on net for free. So if u cant give it for free for people to learn from you, go elsewhere.

Hi just had a quick glance at your source code and expected to see an infinite while loop in your main() function as this seems to be the norm in most embedded real-time software architectures. Also, i think it would be more efficient to use interrupts for handling inputs rather than having software continually poll the hardware -- which wastes CPU time.

With my own little experience, I think he used start and goto start instead of the infinite while loop what serves the same purpose. And as we can see the code worked perfectly.

I have read about interrupts.they r little bit complex for beginner and are used only when the application is time bound or does so many work. I have read many PIC programming book and what they used for reading input button is not an interrupt except except 4x4 keypad which they used portB interrupt. So i think guassian is on the right track. Another thing i notice is that the PIC12f683 he used does not have an external interrupt function.

If i get u right, u said i can get 16 million colors from 1 rgb led, how possible is that.

Woow, this is a good final year project, especially that closed loop system u talked about

How do u go abt the flight booking.. Pls giv me a directory on it

I used fly aero, just loggon to www.flyaero.com the by the right side of the page, you book your flight. It is very easy, just have 19 500 on your account. I used gtb master card, u wan use visa, verve and anyother also. The flight is 19k but sms charge and service charge is the reason fo the the extra 500.
You will print your flight ticket immediately after the payment is successfull.

I was posted to kastina. I have already booked flight online. I will advice anyone there to go by air from lagos. Its just 1.5 hours instead of spending days going by road. Ita just about 19300 Naira. See u guys at kastina.

Science/Technology / Re: Generator And Stabilizer by Savotech: 10:35pm On Mar 22, 2015
Hmmm... I used to hear people say that also, back in those days when i bought gen in school and lowered the voltage and then i used stabilizer for equipments that needs normal 220v, my friends would tell me that the generator will spoil...

To my understanding,
The advantage of using stab is that you will get a stable ouput even if the generator output is fluctuating. You will protect your equipment when using "i better pass my neighbor" that has no AVR which gives high no-load voltage. But have it at the back of your mind that the stabilizer too is a load which will get its own power first and also get the power which it will supply the load connected to it.

The stab doesnt have any effect on gen, its just a load like any other device. The reason why the technicians discourage people from using stab is that the illiterate user might think that using stab will make a small gen power ok 800watts power a 2kw device.

In conclusion, using a stab doesnt have any side effect. I use 2 stabilizer at home for equipment when using phcn and i don't bother to bypass when using gen, and my generator hasn't spoil for 2years and still counting.

Wooooow gaussian where have you been. U r the kind person we need here in this technology section. You gave the best analogy so far on my post about the difference between capacitor and battery.
You are a great practical teacher. Keep it up and never leave us, we need more of your tutorials.

Battery stores Direct current while capacitor store alternating current.
Jesus! Which book that one dey... Or are you just guessing

If so, then we dont need an inverter any longer. We should just get banks of 400v/10F capacitors and power problem is solved in nigeria

Science/Technology / Whats The Difference Between A Battery And A Capacitor by Savotech: 3:39pm On Feb 27, 2015
I heard a student asking a question... Since capacitors and batteries stores charge, then whats the difference. Why cant capacitors be used to power a phone?

Any Engineer scientist or professor in the house, i need you to share your knowledge here because some people are getting confused in this aspect.

We were told in theory, that capacitors store electrical energy when charged and supplies or gives out the stored energy in the process of discharging, so as batteries too; just that they store energy in chemical form.

The question is if they both do the same thing and only the composition differs, can they be used inter changeably? Can a battery be used for smoothing in power curcuit and can a big capacitor e.g 1farad be used to power transistor radios, phones tabs etc?

Whats the major difference in their operation practically speaking.
Science/Technology / Re: New Battery Technology Will Enable Mobile Phones Charge Up In Just A Minute by Savotech: 3:11pm On Feb 27, 2015
Wooooow...
Nice one...
But with my own little knowledge, charging with 80amps will blow up the battery. Also, charging with about 5 to 10 amps is an act used to boost a dead battery.

In boosting a battery, though it appears fully charged withing 2 minutes but runs down quickly because not all the chemical cells in the battery had enough time to gain energy.

I think batteries contains chemical cells that needs time to react, thats why it takes long to charge or thats why we charge with current much lower than the amphour rating.

I am not saying the above technology is impossible but they better give it another name other than "battery".

In physics, electrical/electronic/computer/communication engineering, A CAPACITOR CHARGES OR STORES ENERGY WITHIN MICROSECONDS WHEN CHARGED WITH HIGH CURRENT AND CAN ASWELL DISCHARGE WITHIN MICROSECONDS DEPENDING ON THE LOAD RESISTANCE...

We need this technology in nigeria as fast as possible so that we can switch on our gen for just 1or 2 minutes to charge our laptops , phones , tabs, and inverter batteries . This will relief the PHCN as many will prefer to use inverter.
