Don't be bothered about what the world thinks about you. If there's anything you need to do, try not to keep the kids away from their father unless he doesn't want to be in their lives. This is a time for you to look inwards. Find love with yourself. I mean really do self love. Appreciate your space. Do what makes you happy. The kids will be all over you, not having a father figure around can be too much work on you for some time. However, you will pull through. |
Looks like the country is more difficult than we think. Even banks have failed to send Christmas messages to their customers. It's for the best though. Because we all know one certain orange bank that charges us for every SMS they send. Merry Christmas all. |
Globalization has never being more real than it is now. From the revolution in transportation to telecommunication. We celebrated Airbus. While still in the euphoria of that, we got supersonic planes that moves in the speed of light. While Nigerian leaders are busy cutting ribbons unveiling locomotive trains Japan and the rest have bullet speed trains. There's no need dwelling on the changes we have seen on how information travels. When the World Wide Web started in the 1990's, I am not sure those guys envisaged we will have what like this today. The way we trade has also changed drastically. You don't need to spend long hours traveling on the back of the Camel to go get goods across the Sahara, from the back seat of a car, you can move money and goods across the world. If the world has become so interconnected, why has this era aslo seen some of the most militant Nationalistic calls? It is this thought that is making question if there's no more than we see or know about the COVID19. Maybe I have read too many Sidney Sheldon or seen too many CIA or FBI conspiracy movies. Could there be some eggheads somewhere in a bid to protect their borders tweaking and tweaking the COVID19 virus? We have seen how some merchants of war profiting from causing chaos in various parts of the world. However, the world still finds a way to come together and clean the mess created by a few hot heads. With the way the COVID19 spreads and it's debilitating effects on the human body, every leader will put the interest of it's citizens first before other considerations. With this consideration in mind, could there be someone or a group of people behind the various variants of this COVID19? I bet alot of people have forgotten that it was once called the "Wuhan Virus" named after the Chinese City of Wuhan where it was once discovered. We have the Delta variant, now it's Omicron which sounds more like the name of a computer or a Company into ICT. Whatever the real story about the COVID19, Africa seems to be at the receiving end of it. No African country has yet to come up with a vaccine, even if they try to, it will be deemed as non effective. The world is quick to slam travel bans on African countries. When are we going to wake up as a Continent and take the lead in global affairs? Nigeria as a country is still grappling with constructing good roads, we have leaders cutting ribbons to unveil public toilets and tagging it as development projects. We have leaders who call carpenters to put wood together and call it bridges. We have a long way to go as a Continent and as a Country. While we continue to hold our leaders accountable, we need to rise up to the challenges we face as a Continent and a country. Why do we continue to handover the reins of leadership to simpletons and circus performers, while do we continue to allow ourselves to be divided along the lines of religion and unhealthy tribal and ethnic lines? Until we realize that our voices can be the trickling water that builds up to become an ocean we will not rise to become a great nation that we all desire. The Continuous Voter Registration exercise is ongoing, the politicians are spending money to get those the can give a cup of rice to get their PVCs. They know they power that it brings. Don't leave the decision making to those people who will give their mandate for a cup of rice. Make a decision to be heard in the next Local , State and general elections. Be a part of nation building today. |
Depends on the area you are looking at Ikorodu. If you must in Ikorodu don't go beyond Ebute. There are some nice Estates there. However, the rent don't come so cheap. |
Pregnancy is a period that comes with dramatic changes in a woman's body. It also comes with women having this funny and sometimes crazy cravings that will awe you. I remember when my wife was pregnant for our first child. Oh! It came with some very funny moments. One night at about past 10pm or thereabout, my wife woke me up to tell she wants to eat peppersoup. At first, I pretended I didn't hear her. The next thing was a kick from her that woke me up from my sleep. I got up and got dressed to go look for where to get her peppersoup. Luckily, Lagos is a city that never sleeps as I found a place to get her a nice plate of peppersoup. Funny thing, when I got home, this woman said she lost appetite for it. I just laughed. Okay, madam since you lost appetite, let me savour the sweet peppersoup that I had to leave the house for that late, madam said I must not touch her soup. There were several other funny moments we had to deal with. Our boy is almost 3 now and fatherhood is such a blessing. Guys, let's hear your own funny stories when dealing with pregnancy. |
In the past few days we saw alot of young Nigerians who left the shores of this nation to look for Greener pastures. As usual, there will be those who will try to make us believe that leaving Nigeria amounts to an act of unpatriotic act. When you interact with those who have lived outside the shores of this nation, you will realize that our government has really failed us. Don't be deceived, the saying that " don't ask what the nation can do for you, rather than what can you do for the nation" doesn't apply to the average Nigerian. Looking at where we are coming from as Nigerians and where we are supposedly heading to, the country doesn't hold much for us. Let no one ever ever talk you out of seeking a better life outside Nigeria. Japa is a goal! |
In 2013, I was in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State for a job. When I was there, logging was a booming trade. Popularly called "Madrin" the youths in the land had no other job than logging of Rosewood. However, before I left that place, there was a decline in the trade as these people continued to cut down their trees without thinking of planting. When there was more wood to cut, some took to okada riding, while those who were used to the easy money that used to come their way saw crime as an alternative. The story of Egbe people shows the general outlook of the average Nigerian. We just wan t to satiate the cravings of the moment and forget that tomorrow will come bearing the seeds that we sowed today or failed to sow. |
@Spice123 do you do this after saving a little of your salary? Believe me women can be funny. I am married, we have tried this at some point because the madam kept asking what I am doing with my salary. Forgetting that after I have sent her money for upkeep there are miscellaneous I have to cater for before a new month comes. Meanwhile, the man's money is the family's while the womans money is hers. |
