@ all,
my suggestion to seun is to make this fta a section of its own on this forum and make it in such a way that it is only the registered users that will have access to the contents on the free to air section. if there is any different view or opinion i welcome it. please moderator can you help us pass this over to the admin.
don't you think that the very people we are running away from will still be among the registered members?my opinion still remain that get-together talked about in part 1 should be looked into,at least we will see each other face to face.still my humble opinion
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by sayso: 10:34am On Nov 28, 2008
@All
this thing is moving to another level,let me asked are we all addicted to NL?.can we not creat a yahoo group,each person submit his or her e-maill and only then can we be certain that information about FTA remains with us.just my humble opinion.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by sayso: 3:36pm On Nov 27, 2008
obnelly:
All sorry for coming up late,i was having some headache with my internet.Its true that you can watch with 90cm but the signal do flunctuates,that was my new discovery.Moreso this forum is full with spy or ies,RDV was scrambled yesteday while champions league was going on and main why i watched english premiership on the same station chelsea v newcasle but now its scramble.any good information on this forum should be through yahoo messenger,its much better than we working and one useless companies taken our free lunch away from us.Let every house mates activate their messengers hotmail or yahoo so that we can discuss important information there.No more No less.
This is why that get-together talked about in FTA part 1 is important,at least there will be focal point in any region in 9nija and forum members will know each other and those from outside 9nija will decide on how they will share their information(s).

@all
for those wey want catch the Virus keep trying,am sure there is a cure but for those wey done catch the Sirus can anyone comfirm that RDV is still scrambled.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by sayso: 3:27pm On Nov 26, 2008
Guys I do not know about the RDV data posted on this forum, 12557V,3332.But I just checked their site and I found this

Satellite: SIRUS 4
Position: 5 degrees
Frequence: 12556MHZ
Symbole rate:3333
F.E.C:   2/3
Polarite: Verticale
pls let the forum experts  explain if this could be the reason for the off air of RDV
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by sayso: 3:13pm On Nov 26, 2008
@olofofo
Group Excaf Telecom, the owner of RDV is  major Pay TV operator in Senegal and they know what they are doing. if they chose to encrypt  RDV, that will be their perogative and it will mean that all their viewers even in Senagal will be scrambled.  people should stop giving HITV and DSTV too much props. No be the same DSTV wey dey give their programs free on Tanzania and Kenya?

I second olofofo on this one,I think, what we should do is to monitor West African satellite  footprint,since some of those channels are coming from west africa and they want to show them to their citizens,with that we will always catch them when they come on air.
onelove FTA.
TV/MoviesMovies For Xmass by sayso(op): 11:42am On Nov 26, 2008
NL's which movie(s) will you be watching this chrismass,I recommend THIS CHRISTMASS   A Christmas time drama centered around the Whitfield family's first holiday together in four years.
Starring:Laz Alonso,Chris Brown,Loretta Devine,Idris Elba and Regina King.

Loved this movie,  It reminded me so much of my own family,  The love/hate, the sibling rivalry, the oldest feeling like she had to help raise the others.

@ all,
I personally think we need to be posting latest prices of satellite accessories ranging from dish of various sizes, LNBs, Decoders e.t.c

To those that can be of help, i will need the latest price for
a 1.8m dish, Fuji LNB (ku), C-band, Jack and positioner. Your help will be appreciated.

I even got to learn from olofofo that a 1.8m PAN dish cost about N7,500 at ALABA market.

@ olofofo,
if you have any contact at ALABA market, can you kindly send across to me the details of that dealer. Thanks

I second enitan2002 on this,pls also include that of 2.4m,3m dish price and other available decorders best for tracking FTA and if possible state the features that makes it better or best.thanks

@all gurus in the house good day to all.I have been doing some reading from www.lyngsat.com and found something I think the gurus will help us understand.
(1)Nilesat @7 degrees west and Badr 3/4/6/ @26 degrees East seem to have the same channels on free,but from Badr 3/4/6 EIRP(dBW) medium which covers Nigeria and also from dishpointer,you can use a dish size of 100-125cm.So my question is this,why can we not get Nilesat with that same dish size?the only difference I noticed from Badr 3/4/6/ @26 degrees East is that the frquencies are mostly in Horizontal polarity.

@obnelly and folo28 pls keep posting your experience.To all happy weekend.
PoliticsAfrican Leaders @un by sayso(op): 9:48am On Sep 17, 2008
Somebody should please wake them up for the sake of our children.

When they were deliberating on energy and power @ the UN, they were sleeping.
When they were deliberating on economic development @ the UN, they were sleeping.
When they deliberated on food security @ the UN, they were asleep.
When they fixed interest rate on debtor's (African) loans @ the UN, they were asleep.
When they deliberated on conflict resolution through dialogue they were already snoring @ the UN.
They only wake up, to support motion for adjournment and signed the communiqué.

Of course!, they need rest, they worked tirelessly back home clamping down their opponents and critics.

They Spent the night strategizing on the next move to subdue their opponents.

Back home  airports were closed 2hrs before their arrival, motor-ways were blocked 1hr ahead, Armed Policemen stood guard 8hrs before arrival. Rented crowd clamoured under sun to cheer them up, WHAT HAVE THEY BROUGHT HOME?
