I used GTB online payment.. once you click to get the acceptance invoice downloaded, you will be asked if you would prefer to pay online or manually by queueing in the designated banking hall.. Your choice is yours..
If you choose online, payment is made automatically into UI's account.. For manual payment, follow the instructions in the invoice for the list of banks you can make your deposit.

Did both of you get the recommendation mail from
the same department?
If yes, go to PG school without hesitation. Moreover
don't be panicked cos they are left with no choice
than to reverse the error if that be the case..

If you have been recommended, the department's decision on application status will change from 'Not yet decided' to 'Recommended', with a note saying that Your department has recommended for admission to the postgraduate school and bla bla bla.. But that's how it looks like.. Thanks

I hope microbiology will soon start to send recommendation mails as many departments have dusted off this process.

It can't affect you being recommended. It can only affect the completion of your admission screening after being recommended. However, to be on the safer side, fix the issue asap.. Best of luck!
