Dankwambo is a man of vision, a man of intefrity, a man of ideas, a man who the cap fits. Dankwambo who withstood the storm of 2015 is still waxing stronger by the day. great men put their foot prints in the sands of time, but greater men change time and history. Dankwambo who is a the greatest man, has totally stopped time, and has transformed the face of Gombe state. Only a fool will say Dankwambo is not the best choice come 2019. his incorruptible nature makes him the only Nigerian Leader without a stain of corruption. Even Buhari can not withstand the heat when it comes to Dankwambo. I stand for Dankwambo i Stand for Transformation, I stand for a better Nigeria

ALHAJI IBRAHIM HASSAN DANKWAMBO: A BETTER CHOICE BEFORE NIGERIANS?

Watch Video

It is true that a golden fish has no hiding place. The professional, political and public service career of national and global leaders are always in public domain. Their performance or lack of it stands them out as the populace, public affairs analysts and social affairs commentators are wont to publicly and vocally assess their varied contributions to the socio-economic wellbeing of the citizenry at large.

The above musing aptly describes the dynamic and highly resourceful Governor of Gombe state, Dr Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, FCIB, FCA, OON, (Talban-Gombe) within the backdrop of a higher calling that is currently tolling its bell on him ahead of 2019. For the consummate technocrat, cerebral chartered accountant and super-achieving administrative helmsman par excellence, much has been written and chronicled on his superb and superlative infrastructural and developmental exploit as well as his groundbreaking reforms both in Gombe state as the incumbent chief executive officer and the office of the Accountant General of the Federation that have repositioned and recalibrated the said offices for a more credible, responsive and efficient service delivery to the people and the nation at large.

Much of the publicity has been unsolicited as the unassuming and largely self-effacing Talban Gombe believes in silent and unheeded achievements, with solid and indelible administrative reforms and infrastructural projects on ground to speak for themselves rather than engaging in undue media hype or sensational headlines that are the province of many a politician.

However, much as Dankwambo might want to avoid the public limelight, his tremendous and all-encompassing performance at various levels of governance and administration has attracted unprecedented adulation and encomiums to the extent that no less an influential and prescient man of God, the famed Catholic prelate, Father Ejike Camilus Mbaka, has predicted that the 2019 presidential mandate rests squarely on the broad shoulders of the highly respected Gombe state helmsman. The revered cleric did not mince words while prophesying that Dankwambo has the wherewithal to take Nigeria decisively and unerringly out of the woods of despair, despondency and decay that the APC-led federal government has plunged it since coming to power on May 29, 2015.

In an unequivocal and straightforward celestial pontification, Father Mbaka predicted that the savvy and articulate Dankwambo will inherit the presidential crown in order to repeat the magic that he has performed in Gombe state and at the federal level in order to bring the country closer to the standard of living and economic attainment of advanced countries in the global comity of nations; no more, no less. With the pronouncement of the Catholic priest who is renowned for the authenticity and fecundity of his prophecies and who has never for once met Dankwambo in person, the whole political configuration, calculation and permutations for 2019 has been inexorably altered.

At the moment, the vast majority of the nation’s citizenry are lining up, locked in step behind the fortuitous and auspicious candidacy of the Gombe political wonder who defied all imaginable odds to emerge the only re-elected PDP governor in the whole of the North despite the fact that the rival APC swept the region in a massive tsunami during the 2015 general election.

Indeed, the Peoples Democratic Party leadership seems galvanized by Father Mbaka’s earth-shaking prediction affirming that Dankwambo is eminently qualified to assume the mantle of presidential leadership at any time and that his candidacy must come as a huge relief for legions of the party’s faithful as well as millions of ordinary Nigerians who are craving for a credible alternative to the directionless leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and his fellow travelers in APC. Without doubt, the last man standing, as Talban is affectionately referred to, won in Gombe on the basis of merit, hardwork, competence and exemplary performance.

He touched the lives of the people of the state in all material spheres, be it in road infrastructure, health, education, power, water supply, rural development, agriculture, manpower development and women or youth empowerment. All these sectors have been decisively and positively affected by Dankwambo’s No-Citizen-Left-Behind policy. All the eleven local government areas of the state have felt the impact of the visionary leadership of the governor. For instance, immediately after the 2015 elections, the first set of roads that were constructed Dankwambo where in the enclave of his defeated APC gubernatorial rival, Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya This was in consonance with admirable mantra of Politics Without Bitterness of the Talban Gombe.

Indeed, the infrastructural revolution embarked upon by the indefatigable governor has been unprecedented throughout the nation, dwarfing those of Lagos, Rivers, Akwa Ibom among others, on an income per capital ratio, given the fact that Gombe State receives a paltry N2 billion per annum as federal allocation compared to the over N15-N30 billion naira received annually by the aforementioned oil-producing states.

Tens of thousands of kilometers of urban and rural roads have been completed while a lot more are under construction. Hundreds of hospitals, maternity and health centres, primary, secondary and Arabic schools have been either constructed or rehabilitated with adequate supply of hospital equipment, drugs, desks, chairs and laboratory equipment respectively. In the agriculture sector, tremendous progress has been attained with fertilizer, seedlings, farm implements, tractors, harvesters, planters, sprayers and many more supplied or leased to agrarian farmers at highly subsidized rates to boost agricultural production in the Jewel of the Savannah.

Dankwambo’s youth and women empowerment programme is also a complement to his development agenda for the state as tens of thousands of women and youths have been trained in fish farming, rabbit and poultry production, bee keeping, hair dressing, barbing, sewing, tying and dying, soap making, as well as confectionary skills.

All these are geared towards enhancing their income-generating and self-sustenance status. Thousands of graduates and other categories of staff have been employed in the Gombe State public service ever since the Talban Gombe assumed office on May 29, 2011.

Indeed, to catalogue the length, breadth and scope of the landmark administrative, infrastructural and developmental exploits of the Last Man Standing is beyond the breadth of this treatise, but it is fair to surmise that the nation needs, as a matter of urgency, the leadership sagacity of Governor Dankwambo, as well as his depth of experience, vision, vigour and fortitude to pilot the ship of the Nigerian State to safer and calmer shores come 2019.

Politics / Re: PDP Warns INEC, APC On Ekiti, Says Rig Election, Endanger 2019 by sbaby4b: 5:22pm On Jun 04, 2018
APC can go to any length just to win election come 2019, they are always known to be associated with violence and killings, so it wont be surprising if they get involved in violence acts.
UcheSecondus:
......calls them administration of frame up

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has sent a strong statement to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, that there will be no general election in 2019 if July 14 gubernatorial election in Ekiti state is rigged.

Prince Secondus said while inaugurating  a high powered Ekiti state gubernatorial campaign council at the party National Headquarters in Abuja on Monday that the performance of PDP in Ekiti state makes the contest a smooth run.

He said that the party is aware that despite the negligible presence of APC in Ekiti, the party is determined to connive with the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to manipulate and thwart the will of the people.

In the address titled "Nigeria democracy ambushed, dark days are here with us” Secondus said  "the caliber of names drawn up as members of this council shows in an unmistaken terms the importance the party attaches to this exercise"

"Ekiti state means so much to our party because of the strategic position it occupies in that geopolitical region and the fact that it's a test run election ahead of Osun state governorship election in September and the general elections in less than one year from now.

He said that APC is planning in their own words to capture Ekiti at all cost but noted that "Part of the costs has started manifesting with the shooting carried out at their own rally on Thursday last week which happened to be a continuation of the violence they launched on themselves and the state since their primaries last month"

Prince Secondus said that the attitude of APC now is that of "a drowning man desperate to survive and whose posture is if I cannot make it let me go down with others'

The PDP boss called  on the international community and all lovers of democracy to show more than passing interest in what is going on in Nigeria today and watch as our democracy is being violated and ambushed.

"In this country now, the opposition and anybody holding dissenting views from that of the small clique of persons hanging on to power today have been marked either to be framed up for criminal offenses or for corruption.

"A sitting Governor in Rivers state, Nyesom Wike had cried out recently that there is attempt to assassinate him but his case was treated with levity only for Nigerians to witness a high profiled failed assassination been attempt in Ekiti last week.

He said that PDP is also privy to the secret grand plan of the APC government to raise a special killer squad to kill opponents and disperse rallies especially in the area where they expect PDP rallies to intimidate their own.

According to him, "the motive of all these deliberate Police state being established by the ruling party is obvious; to distract and disorganize the opponent to enable them hold on to power.

"Never, not even in the draconian days of the military rule was number three citizen of the country and an incumbent governor framed up for armed robbery.

"This government has become a frame up administration. Senator Rabiu Kwakwaso's aide was locked for weeks where they were searching for things to frame him up; Senators Dino Melaye and Shehu Sani have all been framed up for being vocal against unjust system being perpetuated by this administration government. The deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu has had his guest house ransacked where they were looking for something to frame him up.

Despite their immunities a guest house in Akwa Ibom was once ransacked by operatives in search of frame up documents. Ditto Governor Wike has had to seek court protection to halt search in his house. Governor Fayose has just alerted the nation of plans to frame him up in the APC rally shooting. Nigerians should watch and be ready for the sacrifice to save not just our democracy but the country. What is however certain is that victory is ours in the end because Nigeria cannot afford this APC journey any longer.

Politics / Re: Road To 2019; President Muhammadu Buhari Versus Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo by sbaby4b: 1:57pm On Jun 04, 2018
from this Analysis it is crystal clear that Dankwambo is not just the best man come 2019 but also the right man, why waste your vote on a second hand product when you can get an original with lesser efforts
Adurofight:
ROAD TO 2019; Muhammadu Buhari Versus Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo;
.
President Muhammadu Buhari hails from Katsina State( NorthWest) while Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo hails from Gombe State( NorthEast)
.
President Buhari is 75 years of age while Dankwambo is 57 years of age.
.
President Buhari's education qualifications is a controversial O'level result and the certificate he obtained when he schooled at United States Army War college in Carlisle Pennsylvania, United States in the 80s. While Dankwambo graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in 1985 with a degree in Accounting. He obtained a Master of Science degree in Economics from the University of Lagos in 1992 and a PhD in Accounting from Igbinedion University.
.
President Buhari was a former Military head of state in the 80s with no meaningful achievements. As the president of Nigeria in a democratic era, Base on fact, Figures and record, His administration remain the worst since 1999 while Governor Dankwambo was a former Accountant General of the federation with clean record since his 40s. Base on his achievements on Infrastructures, Health, Education, Workers welfarism etc, He was rated as the best Northern Governor in year 2015 by Vanguard Newspaper. Again, He won the award of Best Governor in Nigeria in year 2015 from Leadership Newspaper. Whereas, No Newspaper, international body or non Governmental organization has ever rated Buhari's military regime as the best in the history of Nigeria.
.
President Buhari is not medically fit, He had been receiving Medical treatment abroad since 80s while Governor Dankwambo is medically fit without health challenges. Base on Health ground, He has never jet out of the country for Once.
.
According to records, Many divisive, Violence, inciting and controversial statement has been traced to President Buhari in the past. E.g Buhari promised to fight for Sharia Law in Year 2001 if elected as the president, "Dog and Baboon will be Soak inside blood" A Statement Buhari made when he lost year 2011 poll to Goodluck Jonathan. This statement alone leads to lost and destruction of lives and properties in Northwest in year 2011. "Abacha is a good president, He's not corrupt" A statement Buhari made during Late Sani Abacha's remembrance day in year 2008. Again, History can never forget the day Buhari described Northerners as 97% and the remaining tribes as 5% in year 2015. Lastly Buhari declared IPOB as a terrorist group while he hails Fulani herdsmen killer and describe them as a good citizen of Nigeria etc. All these made many Nigerians to believe that President Buhari is a religious bigots and a First Class tribalist. People believe he lacks what it takes to rule a multi cultural and Multi religious society like Nigeria successfully. Meanwhile, No divisive, Derogatory, Inflammatory or inciting to violence statement, Quotes or comments have been traced to Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo in the past. He's a detribalize Nigerian. He's not a tribalist and he's not a religious bigots. His Education background said it all.
.
President Buhari belongs to analog age. His utterances, Manner of approach, Mentality, style of leadership, etc. belongs to 19th century. As a matter of fact, He cannot operate any social media platform. He's running from presidential media chat because of his intellectual ability to give perfect and suitable answers to questions that will be ask by Newsmen . MeanWhile, Governor Dankwambo belongs to Digital age. He's a man with Modern ideas and mentality. He has given meaning to Governance in Gombe State in this 21st Century. As a matter of fact, He operates all his social media accounts by himself. He tweets and post of facebook on daily basis.
.
President Buhari is a man who cannot think by himself. His remote control is in the hands of the invisible cabals in Aso Rock and some political godfather. While Governor Dankwambo is a man who is self dependent. He doesn't have any political godfather. Despite the tsunami of Change that engulfed many PDP candidates in the North 3 years ago, He remain the only PDP Governor that won his reelection bid without the support of President Buhari. He won with a wide margin despite obvious threat by his immediate predecessor who is now a Senator under APC. The gap Governor Dankwambo used to defeat his opponent in year 2015, It is more than what Aregbesola used to defeat Senator Iyiola Omisore in Osun State in year 2014 Guber race.
.
Prior to year 2015 presidential election, it was revealed that 2.8billon dollars was missing under General Buhari when he was the former Minister of petroleum under General Olusegun Obasanjo in year 1977. Till Today, he cannot account for the missing money. Meanwhile, Since Dankwambo's days as the Accountant General of the federation till now, He has never been accused wrongly by EFCC, He has never been indicted for fraud or Embbelzement of public funds by his political enemies or Government officials. He has never been in the watchlist of EFCC or any security agency. I am not saying he's a saint, Only God is perfect. This is one of the reasons why Dankwambo stand out among other PDP presidential aspirants When compare to Dr. Sule Lamido and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
.
In Nigeria today, We cannot point out to any visible achievements of General Buhari as a military head of state in the 80s. He has no achievement in the Education sector, Health, power, Agriculture, security etc. As a president in the Democratic dispensation, As of today, We cannot point out to any visible projects initiated, constructed, completed and commissioned by President Buhari. Meanwhile in Gombe State, The education sector of the State remain the best in the Northeastern part of Nigeria today. Dankwambo has performed exceedingly well in the Health sector, Agricultural sector, Security and other sectors in the State. These are audible to the deaf and visible to the eye.
.
According to record, President Buhari's administration in 3 years has borrowed more than what PDP borrowed in 16years. PDP borrowed 6trillon naira in 16years while Buhari's Government borrowed 11 trillion naira within 3years with no reasonable achievements to show for it. Meanwhile in Nigeria today, Gombe State is one of the best managed State among the 36 States of Federal Republic of Nigeria. Gombe State is one of the states that Collected the lowest federal allocation on Monthly basis from the purse of Federal Government. Gombe, Ekiti and Ebonyi State are in the same Shoe. Despite this, the level of Development in Gombe State is far better than that of Ebonyi and Ekiti State. As at today, Gombe State is not owing workers a penny when compare to many States that collects huge allocation than Gombe State e.g Osun, Oyo, Ekiti and other States in the Southern part of Nigeria. With little resources, The State is the fastest developing State among the Northeastern States. Despite all these, The amazing fact is that Gombe State is among the State with lowest debt profile in Nigeria today. All these are attributed to the transparency, Integrity and financial prudence of Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo. As an accountant, He knows how to plan and manage a little resources to achieve a meaningful things.
.
On security, It is an obvious facts that Nigeria is not secure under President Buhari. Bokoharam are still active under this administration. IPOB agitation also set in. The dead Niger/Delta Avengers also resurrected under Buhari and Fulani herdsmen killers are on rampage killing everybody. Buhari failed to use his experience as a former Military man to combat the insecurity challenges facing the country. Meanwhile, Gombe State on the other hand is one of the peaceful States in Nigeria despite being a Northern State. As of today, The State remains the most safest States in the NorthEast when compare to its contemporaries like Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba and Bauchi. Base on record, Bokoharam has never strike for once in Gombe State. Despite the fact that almost 50% of Gombe State population is dominated by Fulani people, As at today, There is no single record of Fulani herdsmen killing in Gombe State. If we blame the Governor of Benue State for the insecurity challenges bedeviling Benue State today, then Governor Hassan Dankwambo deserves praises, encomium and accolades for the peace and tranquility Gombe people are enjoying under his administration when compare to neighbouring states.
.
In a nutshell, Governor Dankwambo and president Buhari are incomparable. Dankwambo is a man that have everything president Buhari lacks. Dankwambo defeat Buhari in every areas. He remain the best among all the aspirants who are jostling for the post of presidency in year 2019.
.
Fellow Nigerians, I present to you the best Alternative to President Buhari in year 2019. His name is Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, The executive Governor of Gombe State.
.
God bless Nigeria(Amen)

Freedom is said to be the power or right to act, speak, or think as one desires, this also includes political freedom, the right to think, vote and act politically without fear or favour. The right of ones voice to be heard.
In recent times Nigerians has lost one of their fundamental human right which is the right to speak freely without fear. Many people will disagree totally with me because they feel we are operating a democratic system of government and as such have the right to speak freely. But let’s face the fact. Nigerians are shouting at the top of their voices but no one is paying attention.
Innocent blood are spilled daily, now am not talking about the killings we hear on the news, those are mere distractions to the real cause of death in our country Nigeria. People are dying of starvation, parent sell their children for a bowl of Garri, the rich still getting richer and the poor hmmm…. Nothing to write home about. We were promised change and we wholeheartedly with open hands embraced this change. The only mistake we made was not asking the type of change we will be getting.
Some will say the rate of corruption has reduced drastically and yet we are still 3rd most corrupt country in the world. We say corruption has been cut to the barest minimum. Bill gate in his visit to Aso rock stated that Nigeria is one of the worst countries to invest in, billons of naira’s invested to fight polio especially in the north and yet no account for the money invested. He said he was so worried and saddened at the direction of the present Nigerian government.
Some will accuse the past administration, true they had their own defects, but I thought by now we would have moved pass this accustoming blame thing.
The voices of the masses crying for political freedom, even the hundreds killed crying for justice and yet nothing is done. It’s time we think and make the right decisions without sentiments or prejudice.
I just hope we will use not just our hearts but also our heads in voting. The journey of a thousand minds begin with a step, but not just any step, take the right step to achieve a thousand miles. No pain no gain.
Get your PVC’s and vote wisely or else remain prisoners for the next 4 years.

Politics / Open Letter To President Donald Trump by sbaby4b: 4:40pm On May 27, 2018
OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, Mr. DONALD TRUMP

President Donald Trump

Through:

Ambassador Stuart Symington

United States Ambassador to Nigeria

U.S. Embassy,

Diplomatic Drive

Central Business District

Abuja - Nigeria.

URGENT NEED TO SAVE NIGERIA'S DEMOCRACY

Sir,

It is with great delight that I write you this letter, hoping that it meets you well. I congratulate you for having kept to your promise of "America first" so far in all your policies and programmes since assumption of office. Permit me to say that this is not my first letter to an American President, as I made a similar appeal to President Barack Obama in 2015, under former President Goodluck Jonathan, intimating him of the failings inherent in that government and thankfully he acted on the letter. I believe you will also take heed of the urgency of this appeal and act accordingly.

Indeed, your effort to make good on your electioneering promises to the American people and the world, is widely acknowledged and appreciated by all lovers of democracy. However, it is rather unfortunate that in my country, for which I now write to seek your intervention, your friend, President Muhammadu Buhari, is largely paying lip service to his promises and has refused to follow the rule of law in the exercise of his powers under a democratic setting. Democracy in Nigeria is currently facing some of its most severe threats and unless something is done, it could be derailed and jeopardised altogether.

Your Excellency sir, while you daily work to advance the cause of the United States, the Nigerian situation under the present administration, led by the ruling All Progressives Congress, has failed to promote the nation's interest and work for the sustenance of our democracy. It was most unfortunate that when President Buhari visited you recently, he minced words on the true situation of the current happenings in the country, which pose a great threat to our national fabric of Unity, Peace and Progress.

How do I mean? The ruling APC and President Buhari were ecstatically embraced by Nigerians and voted into office with a promise to fight corruption, insecurity and grow the economy in 2015. However, three years on, prevailing maladministration and insecurity have left everyone spell bound, as wanton killings by herdsmen, kidnapping for ransom, armed robbery, corruption and insurgency in the north-east still ravage the country unabated. Furthermore, the cost of fighting these deadly malaise continues to skyrocket without corresponding mitigation in insecurity. A recent example is the withdrawal of $1billion from the Excess Crude Account (ECA) to fight Boko Haram and other security challenges across the country, by the Executive in collaboration with the National Economic Council, without due recourse to the National Assembly for statutory approval. More so, need I mention that the recent advance payment of $496million to your country for the purchase of 12 Tucano fighter jets, by the Buhari-led Federal Executive Council, was done in complete violation of extant laws regarding such purchases. I must say that that action remains illegal, criminal and a breach of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which empowers the National Assembly to approve all expenditures of the executive. I am aware that the United States is a nation ruled by laws and therefore cannot condone impunity and illegality of this nature - no matter the amount of benefits accruable to it from the sale. I would therefore, kindly appeal to you, to use your good offices to ensure that the $496million is repatriated into the Nigerian coffers and the deal renegotiated and made to follow due process.

I want to also appeal to you to help save our democracy by prevailing on President Buhari and his administration to respect the fundamental Human Rights of Nigerians. The right to life, freedom of association, freedom of speech and freedom from fear, torture and molestation which are irreducible minimums in any democratic setting, have taken the back seat since this administration came into power. Unfortunately, these rights are being denied under the guise of fighting corruption by the Executive and its agents. Permit me to say that the fight against corruption by the Buhari government is laudable but grossly selective. I am by no means saying the Nigerian government should not investigate and prosecute corrupt officials or those found to have looted the public treasury. I support the fight against corruption and thus use this opportunity to call on the American government to help Nigeria to win the fight against corruption. However, this letter is to intimate you on the true situation about the ongoing fight against corruption in Nigeria, which is highly selective and partisan instead of being transparent and fair. While members of the opposition PDP and nPDP are being hunted and liquidated in the name of fighting corruption, fraud allegations against close aides/allies of the President and other favoured members of the coalition that fused to form the APC are being consistently swept under the carpet, with the culprits allowed to live freely without any form of legal repercussion.

Regrettably sir, Nigerians are no longer free to express themselves or to criticise the activities and policies of the government without being assaulted or clamped down upon. For example, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, was one of those who supported Buhari and the APC to win the 2015 general elections, but today, has been branded an enemy of the state because he is criticizing the wrongdoings and failings of the administration.

Similarly, I dare say that the harassment, coercion, intimidation and humiliation being meted out on the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, is basically because he emerged as the President of the Senate against the wishes of some powerful and influential members of the ruling party in 2015 and not because he is corrupt as being claimed by some agents of the executive. It is worthy of note, that H.E. Saraki belongs to the nPDP stock of the APC and his unjust trial and persecution over charges of false asset declaration since 2015 coupled with new attempts to link him with arrested murder suspects and cultists in his home state of Kwara, points to the selective nature of the fight against corruption being waged by the Buhari-administration. Note that the political onslaught against Saraki and the National Assembly under his leadership, culminated recently in the invasion of the Senate Chambers by sponsored thugs, who forcefully took away its mace and symbol of authority, without the prosecution of the perpetrators. Besides, facts have recently emerged to buttress this assertion about political persecution of perceived opponents of the government. A Special Investigator engaged by the Special Presidential Investigation Panel on Recovery of Public Property, Evangelist Victor Uwajeh, recently revealed that he was specifically directed to investigate Saraki and other PDP stalwarts who have been marked for persecution by the Buhari-led administration. Uwajeh, in a statement published by the Cable, an online newspaper, said the Special Presidential Investigation Panel on Recovery of Public Property, established by the Buhari's administration, was specifically created to investigate Saraki, his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, Senator Stella Oduah, Senator Albert Bassay Akpan, ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Femi Fani Kayode, Senator James Manager, Governor Nyesom Wike, Senator Jonah Jang, Patience Jonathan and the current National Chairman of the PDP, Chief Uche Secondus, among others.

Kindly note that apart from HE Saraki, all other persons listed above are members of the opposition party, PDP. Mr. Uwajeh's statement, I must say has practically vindicated HE Saraki and other opposition members currently on trial that the allegations against them were politically motivated. Uwajeh had unequivocally stated that his refusal to work with the APC-led Government to humiliate the so-called enemies of Government has led him into exile.

I write to you because Nigeria and America have a long history of friendly relations, added to our system of government which is modeled after that of the United States. Much as the United States and other national governments assisted Nigeria to return to democracy from military dictatorship in the past and has continued to support the nation's fight against insurgency and corruption, it is time to come to our aid once again in order to sustain our democracy and maintain strict adherence to the rule of law. I believe you are better placed to advice the current leadership on the need to obey the rule of law and be impartial in its ongoing anti-corruption campaign.

I humbly invite you to work with other defenders of democracy, freedom and human rights across the world, like the European Union (EU), United Nations (UN) and organizations like the Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, etc, to ensure that the present gagging of the press and opposition political party members in Nigeria do not degenerate further. Help us to prevent imminent breakdown of law and order that may result to chaos and anarchy if the current atmosphere of government's orchestrated harassment, intimidation, coercion, denial of the right to free speech and outright repression of perceived enemies of the administration, is allowed to continue unabated.

I thank you in anticipation that you will take positive steps to liaise with your friend, President Muhammadu Buhari, in order to prevent escalation of anti-democratic acts by agents of the administration.

Long live U.S.A.!

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

Yours sincerely,

OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI ON THE STATE OF THE NATION
Dear Sir,
I write this letter to you, Mr. President, with all sincerity and humility, as it is my very first letter to you since your emergence as President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of our great country, Nigeria.

I would first of all like to use this opportunity to formally apologise to the immediate past President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, for all the tantrums and mistreatment orchestrated by me against his person while he held sway at the helm of affairs of our great country.

Indeed, I and many others may have misunderstood Jonathan's silence for weakness and thus pushed harder to malign his person and portray him as a weak leader. Having achieved the Change Agenda, it is now crystal clear, that the change we had clamoured for is not the change we got.

While this may have come as a rude shock to some of us who preached the change mantra assiduously, particularly the youth, I am consoled by the fact that, Nigeria shall get to the promise land someday and our generations yet unborn will appreciate the genuine efforts made by those of us who stood on the path of truth, rather than being praise singers sycophants.

Mr. President, I am sure that the current state of our dear country should be a cause of genuine concern, as the symptoms of the ailment you had come to cure seem to have morphed into a killer virus waiting to consume its patient (Nigeria) as the clock ticks away.

The damning assessment of Nigeria under your leadership as released by the United States Department of State in its 2017 country reports on Human Rights, cited impunity as being widespread at all levels of government and lack of transparency by your administration.

The report noted that massive corruption by government officials and security agencies is on the rise with most perpetrators being shielded from trial, thus giving room for reckless practices with impunity.

The report stated that, “although the law provides for criminal penalties for conviction of official corruption, the government did not implement the law effectively, and officials frequently engaged in corrupt practices with impunity...massive, widespread and pervasive corruption affected all levels of government and the security services."

Today there is hardship everywhere with the price of fuel now N145 per as against the N85 that it was being sold when you assumed office - the over N1.4trillion already paid by your government as fuel subsidy notwithstanding. You will agree with me, Mr. President, that a report of this magnitude coming from a foreign government should be a cause for serious concern as it posits that your Anti-Corruption Agenda is merely a hoax. Furthermore, your famous slogan of “belonging to everybody and belonging to nobody” has turned out to be a mere Public Relations gimmick, meant to soothe the egos of the spectators that were present at your historic swearing-in-ceremony.

Other assessment cited by the report include the extra judicial killing of IPOB members, Col. Sambo Dasuki’s continuous incarceration, widespread human rights abuses and flagrant disregard for the Rule of Law, under this administration.

You will recall, Mr. President, that a similar report from the Transparency International (TI) was rubbished by your Ministers who claimed the global body was biased in its assessment. Surely, both agencies could not have conspired to tarnish the reputation of your government, as Nigerians can also decipher the high partiality and nepotism being practised by your government, which represents a new low in the history of governance in Nigeria.

I would therefore recommend that your Special Adviser on Media and Publicity should grab a copy of THISDAY Newspaper of Tuesday, 24 April 2018 and perhaps brief you further on the report, in the event that the content of the report has not been brought to your attention.Mr. President, it may also interest you to know that the economy under your watch has been terribly battered, with all the economic indices indicating that we are yet to recover from the recession of 2016, owing to your ill conceived policies as against the rhetoric of the erstwhile administration being responsible for our woes.

The GDP growth before you took over government and three years after being in the saddle of governance attests to woeful failure of government policies while gambling with the nation’s economic gains. The high unemployment and poverty rate as released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) should be a cause of concern to any well-meaning Nigerian, as the masses can barely survive with their current meagre income which leaves them with little or no savings to embark on other meaningful economic ventures to better their lot.

Furthermore sir, I am sure that you’re aware that the level of insecurity in the country now has reached an all time high with an average of at least 50 deaths weekly to the bewilderment of the an already wearied population, whose hopes are dashed on a daily basis. Only last week over 120 persons were kidnapped along the Birnin-Gwari Road in Kaduna State. The farmers/herders crises has continued to claim precious lives as if the nation is in a state of war.

Moreover, the statement credited to you that the killer herdsmen were trained by the late Moumar Gadaffi of Libya is most unfortunate as nothing is being done to police the borders in order to prevent them from coming in as well as declaring a state of emergency on these murderous killers.
More so, the statement credited to former Minister of Defence, Gen. T.Y. Danjuma came as another rude shock to Nigerians on the state of our security architecture in the nation, not also forgetting the statements attributed to former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, reemphasising, that the government under your watch has failed Nigerians.

Surely, the opinions of your comrades cannot all be a farce, but rather a wakeup call to your administration that all is indeed not well with the nation. This is why I dare say that a re-election bid in the wake of this wanton killings and widespread sacrilege in the land, is definitely not the right thing to do at this time in a country engulfed with so much bloodletting. Permit me to say that as things stand today, Nigeria, under your government, has become increasingly autocratic.

Instead of enhancing freedom and rule of law, our democratic gains are being frittered away under the pretext of fighting corruption. The rights to freedom of speech and association are increasingly being denied. People can no longer freely express themselves without security agencies harassing, accusing, arresting, parading, and prosecuting them like common criminals over spurious allegations.
I dare say that I am by this letter offering myself to pay whatever price it will take for Nigeria to be free once again. I know your goons will soon come after me but I am not bothered a bit. I will continue to speak the truth. I spoke the truth when Jonathan, my kinsman, was in power and I will continue to speak the truth. Be that as it may, the truth is that you have destroyed our democracy so much so that Nigerians are now living in fear.

Under your tenure the rule of law has been replaced with the rule of force. You have injected fear into the society. People who voted for you to save them from corruption and ineptitude have been barred from speaking up against the myriads of evil and wicked acts being perpetrated by officials in your government.

Unfortunately, corruption is in the upward swing under your watch. This is why I had to apologize to Jonathan since events of the last three years have shown the former President was a better leader. People freely expressed themselves under Jonathan's administration without fear of being branded cultists' sponsors, gunrunners or aiding murderers. But not so under this administration.

Under Jonathan, Nigerians enjoyed freedom of speech, association and right to hold dissenting views including organizing and partaking in protests against unwelcome government policies. All these are no go areas today. Does it mean Jonathan was a better democrat? It is a fact that no member of the APC which was then in the opposition before 2015 was jailed or harassed for expressing dissent.

However, under this administration, the Senate President is being persecuted, Senator Dino Melaye has been arrested and detained like a common criminal, Senator Matthew Urhroghide had been attached for telling Nigerians that the Federal Government breached the Constitution by paying the sum of $496million for 12 Tucano fighter jets without National Assembly approval; the trial of Senator Isa Misau by the AGF over his face-off with the Inspector General of Police, the persecution of most members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the name of fighting corruption are all examples of intolerance under this administration.

Mr. President, while your fight against corruption is being promoted as gathering steam leading to an award given to you by the African Union (AU) recently, the allegation of illegal award of $25billion contracts leveled against the GMD of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), has not been investigated but rather the malfeasance and shoddy dealing in the NNPC has been swept under the carpet because as the substantive Minister of Petroleum Resources any probe of the agency will require that you make some explanations.

This government has shown total disdain for court pronouncements and the enforcement of fundamental human rights of citizens. El-Zakzaky and Dasuki will not be in jail today but for the present rule of force under this government. It is a pity that today democracy and freedom have become scarce. Insecurity continues unabated. Killings take place on a daily basis across the country either by kidnappers, Boko Haram insurgents, herdsmen, and other criminal elements having a free reign around the country. Life has become worthless and uncertain and people cannot speak out for fear of being labeled anti-government by your regime. Besides, instead of heeding the wise counsel of leaders like Obasanjo, IBB, TY. Danjuma, General Gowon, and religious leaders like Bakare and Oyedepo, you have again declared to seek reelection as President. You even boasted in Bauchi that you will be reelected which was akin to saying you will rig yourself back into office. The worse acts of corruption are being perpetuated under your regime, but people are keeping quiet because of fear of reprisals. This cannot continue. You met Democracy and freedom in 2015, when you leave office, there will still be democracy and freedom for the people. Nigeria will not end with you. Before you, others came, but today where are they? Under this regime, the homes of Honourabe Justices were forcefully broken into and ransacked. Many of them were suspended and are currently being prosecuted by agents of the executive. If this is not intimidation of the highest order what is it? Despite immunity conferred in him by the Constitution, the home of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State was raided. The Governor of Rivers State had to approach the courts for an injunction to forestall a similar treatment being meted on him. Is it not curious that Senator Shehu Sani and Dino Melaye have been framed up as being connected to criminal murder suspects just because they politically differ with their state governors? It is not also true that Saraki and the Governor of Kwara State are now being roped into the case of alleged cultists and murder suspects arrested in Ilorin? If this is not harassment, intimidation and humiliation of perceived opponents of your administration, then what is it?
Don't forget that the Senate led by Saraki has been in a ding-dong with the Inspector General of Police for refusing to honour the legitimate summons of the upper chamber. The plot to once again implicate Saraki in murder activities using alleged cult members earlier arrested in Kwara State is a new low in the antics of this administration to harass, intimidate and humiliate members of the opposition especially those of the defunct New PDP arm of the APC.
The recent attack on the Rivers State Judiciary, the invasion of the Senate and forceful theft of its mace without arrests or word of condemnation by you make the security situation worse and worrisome.

The vehemence with which members of the opposition and the New PDP arm of the APC are being persecuted makes one to wonder why close aides of yours and other high officials in this administration with criminals allegations against them are not equally being prosecuted.
Are you no longer for everybody and belong to nobody? What is good for PDP and New PDP members ought to be good for members of the CPC, ACN, ANPP and a faction of APGA in the APC as well. The reality is that members of the APC are sacred cows that can do no wrong. This growing intolerance, repression and coercion against innocent citizens has led me to the painful resolve to once again offer myself as a sacrificial lamb to pay the price for Nigeria's total emancipation from the shackles of tyranny being perpetuated by your government.

I therefore, urge all Nigerians to wake up and face the current realities and save Nigeria from total collapse under the jackboots of impunity by this administration. History will not be fair to me if I had championed the campaigns against former President Jonathan and now remain silent in the face of anti-democratic tendencies and sheer impunity.
It is my sincere hope that this letter meets you well. I also hope that my outburst will not be seen from the angle of disrespect, but rather of despair and urgency. I believe it is high time for you, as the President and Commander-In-Chief to arrest the situation and restore peace, security and rule of law in the country and confidence in the people once more.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

With best regards

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appealed to the United Nations, the European Union and other foreign countries, to urgently intervene in curbing the excesses of President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.

Other foreign bodies copied in the petition include the American Ambassador to Nigeria, H. E. W. Stuart Symington; Ambassador of France, France Embassy, H. E. Denys Gayer; Ambassador of China, Embassy of China, H. E. Dr Zhou Pingjiang; Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Nigeria, Nikolay Udovichenko.

The 12-paged petition obtained by TheNewsGuru.com, was signed by the PDP National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus, who alleged that President Buhari and his administration are desperate to retain power against the wishes of the Nigerian people who are groaning under the yoke of the misrule of the government in the last three years.

2019: I will return PDP to Aso Rock if elected chairman – SecondusPDP chair, Secondus
Secondus who took office as PDP chair on the 9th of December 2017, lamented that Buhari led APC government is doing all it can to frustrate the legitimate opposition and to intimidate and persecute our leaders
and ultimately destroy the fragile fabrics of our burgeoning democracy.

The petition titled ‘Threats to Democracy, rule of law, basic freedoms and gross human rights violations by the federal government of Nigeria’ reads in part:

“On the 9th of December 2017, I was elected as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), by virtue of which I became the official leader of the opposition in Nigeria. Prior to this, in 2015, our party’s government led by President Goodluck Jonathan conducted a globally acclaimed free and fair presidential election and for the first time in our nation’s history superintended a peaceful, democratic transition of power from a party in government to an opposition party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) – led by General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd).

“Our expectations had been that this government would work to strengthen or at least, sustain the gains of this democratic milestone.

“Regrettably, the President Buhari led APC government is doing all it can to frustrate the legitimate opposition and to intimidate and persecute our leaders and ultimately destroy the fragile fabrics of our burgeoning democracy.

“Our nation has become heavily polarized along dangerous fault lines where citizens now live in fear and mutual suspicion; where citizens are slaughtered by the day by marauders; where hunger and strange diseases ravage the people due to the insensitive and incoherent policies of this government. I am constrained to bring to the attention of the United Nations what appears to be a predetermined and orchestrated plan by President Muhammadu Buhari and the Federal Government of Nigeria through various agencies including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigerian Police and other security organisations to truncate Nigeria’s democracy.

“The President and his administration are desperate to retain power against the wishes of the Nigerian people who are groaning under the yoke of the misrule of the government in the last three years.

“It is imperative to bring to the attention of the world, the various constitutional violations and the unrelenting persecution, arrest, detention and harried trial of opposition members as well as perceived opponents of government, including innocent business concerns, apparently in pursuit of the grand plot to discredit and stifle the opposition in Nigeria.

“There is also, the increasing unwarranted attacks by government-controlled security forces on journalists, media houses and other well-meaning Nigerians carrying out their legitimate duties simply because they hold different opinions from those of APC led government.
