Wow..what a mega project. Anambra shall continue to lead the pack in all spheres of real development! cool

Good a thing an International Cargo/Passenger airport is being built not too far around Otuocha to service this center. They should be fast with the concession of the Onitsha River Port..also rail line is equally important.

GOD BLESS Anambra.

This is Lagos line main market. I personally took this pix last Easter when I went to shop with madam. But xmas shopping is the greatest here with even larger population coming for shopping from all parts of the country and beyond. Capital inflow coming into main market on daily basis is so much..cheesy

Yeske2:
Thank God you understand, i for swear for anybody wey tell me to enter Lagos line

PoliticsRe: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by Schematics: 1:54pm On Dec 03, 2014
It is very clear that the whole of West Africa and beyond comes to this Trading Center (Main Market). The huge capital inflow and population is a pointer to that because more and more people are still investing in plazas/malls.

Yeske2:
That plaza by the left, that is Nottidge street by new market road was completed some months back and fully booked already

PoliticsRe: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by Schematics: 12:59pm On Dec 03, 2014
Now that Onitsha is calm and serene hope they will not take advantage of our cool-headed for cowardice. Although the security situation in the city is top-notch. I do not expect any crisis anymore. grincheesy

Yeske2:
Even if they want to claim anything in Alaigbo, a hotbed like Onitsha will be the last place they'll think of. You remember what happened in 2006 riots abi you don forget?
PoliticsRe: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by Schematics: 12:50pm On Dec 03, 2014
Since they are part of the early settlers they may claim ownership. Because those streets and roads were not named after northern names for nothing. They must have had some stakes to warrant that.

Yeske2:
So many of them around Sokoto road, Bida road, Haruna and Kano streets, around Creek road and Niger street Fegge and around bridgehead where they have their section too. I guess most are early settlers. Turn Onitsha to no man's land, they know it's not possible. Why do you think they cross into Asaba at the slightest sneeze whenever gbege starts?
PoliticsRe: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by Schematics:
There are too many hausa people around Bida road. And they have their Mosque close by too. I am sure they are the early settlers in that area. No wonder most of the streets around the place was named after northern names..from Bida to Haruna to Kano to Sokoto roads etc. This can turn Onitsha to a "no man's land" just like Lagos.. grin cheesy

Anambra obodo oyibo..leading the pack in all spheres of development. Very soon only brand new cars will be on Anambra roads. cheesy cool

ducii:
When Nigeria, on October 3, 2013, announced the introduction of a new automotive policy aimed at discouraging the importation of wholly assembled automobile and encourage local manufacturing, it seemed like a tall dream, but building on recent local assembly successes by Hyundai and Nissan was indigenous company Innoson’s unveiling of its new brand of cars last week.

Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Limited founded by Nigerian industrialist, Chief Innocent Chukwuma unveiled its new cars – IVM Umu, IVM Umu and IVM Uzo manufactured at the company’s Nnewi plant in Anambra State, South east Nigeria.

IVM UMU

70 percent of the parts used in manufacturing the cars were locally sourced, heralding the emergence of a local car manufacturing industry that will in the nearest future serve the region. Already, the company has disclosed it plans to take its brand to neighbours in West Africa, with the Republic of Benin and Ghana on its radar. The company had earlier impressed with its trucks and buses.

The range of Innoson brands are already enjoying patronage locally, something lacking in the past, which has stifled the growth of several indigenous manufacturers. But across Africa, locally-made goods are beginning to earn respect and desired patronage through quality assurance and competitive pricing.

Former governor of Nigeria’s Anambra State where the Innoson plant is located, Dr Peter Obi had become a frequent buyer of the locally made vehicles by the time he left office. Founder of the car-making company, Chukwuma said Obi still patronizes his company.

Nigeria’s Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) is expected to soon take delivery of Pickups made by Innoson.

The country’s minister of trade and investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga at the event held in Nnewi, commended Innoson Vehicles Company (IVC) for producing the first Nigeria-made vehicles. He said such an investment is necessary to expand the country’s manufacturing frontiers.

21 auto-companies have already signed commitments with technical partners to set up local assembly operations, according to Nigeria’s National Automotive Council (NAC).

More or less he has been meeting people that grew up in areas like Okpoko. Just like when you go to Lagos and meet someone that stays at Ajegunle..it can never be the same as someone that grew up at Lekki. The same way someone that grew up in Trans-Nkisi, 3-3, Onitsha federal housing, American Qtrs are quite different, and all behave like people in VGC, Lekki, VI etc..

In a nutshell it is all about the location in the each city. Like I grew up in the highbrow Trans-Nkisi area of Onitsha.

Jennydoris:
The ones you have been meeting are different. That does not mean all others are like that too. Anyway, That there difference is what makes them very unique from others tongue

Boxing: Obiano endorses ‘Return of Champions’

ANAMBRA State Governor, Willie Obiano, has put his weight behind the struggle to revive boxing in the country by accepting to host the first world boxing title fight in Nigeria in recent years.

The boxing extravaganza will see World Boxing Organisation’s (WBO) International Light Middleweight champion, King Davidson Emenogu, fighting for the World Boxing Federation’s (WBF) interim middleweight world title at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, the Anambra State capital on Boxing day, December 26.

The six-bout promotion will also see some top professional boxers based abroad returning home to showcase their talents to Nigerians.

The event, being promoted by Emmaco Sports Limited and tagged ‘Return of Champions,’ will also feature current WABU light heavyweight champion, Jude Illo, in a WBF light heavyweight title.

Current WBF welterweight champion, Gifted Cole, will be going for the vacant WBA PAN Africa middleweight title.

The night will also see current Commonwealth super middleweight champion, Isaac Ekpo defending his title.

All the listed fighters have signed on for the promotion and according to the promoters of the event, the foreign boxers will be announced next week during a press conference in Awka.

The organisers also disclosed that top former Nigeria-born world boxing champions, Herbie Okechukwu Hide, a two-time WBO world heavy weight champion, as well as former WBO Champion, Henry Akinwande and Reggie Johnson will also be present as ringside guests during the ‘Return of Champions’.

There will also be lots of side attractions by some top Nigerian musical acts and Nollywood Stars during the event.

Governor Obiano recently put his signature on the World’s biggest boxing gloves, which is going round the country to promote the big event.

The Governor says he is using the opportunity thrown up by the sporting event to invite the world to Anambra State, adding that he wants to ensure boxing as a sport in Nigeria regains its lost glory like in the days of Dick tiger, Hogan Bassey, Jerry Okorodudu, Obisia Nwankpa and Ngozika Ekwelum, amongst others.

cheesy cheesy cheesy

Ikwerre slum dweller. The only knowledge you have is poverty knowledge. I still have opening my Ph office oo. You once claimed that you own Ph until we busted you. Only to found out that you are a mere pauper living with his old sick mother in Ph slum.

I have been to at least 3 European countries in the course of our project. This xmas I will be going to Dubai with my family on vacation, I will bring pix as usual. So at my level I have passed the level of migrating to go and live there to serve oyibo man. While you are wallowing away in poverty and misery. cheesy

Abagworo:
You are looking for who to engage and tap knowledge from. You are definitely one of those that need enlightenment on the usefulness of aesthetics. I have read where you made mockery of planting flowers in Imo or marking of roads in Enugu. I wish you got that visa to Canada. At least you would have been exposed to how people in advanced countries live.
TravelRe: Onitsha At Night, The Las Vegas Of Nigeria (pics Inside) by Schematics: 11:33am On Dec 02, 2014
From your pictures that was shown here sometime it was very clear that you are a jobless old man of over 40 who lives in poverty still unmarried and live with her poor old sick mother. Who still has that abagworo pix here..? cheesy

As for Peter Obi what he achieved will take entire governors of Imo state 100years to attempt..that is just the fact!

Abagworo:
40 year old Chino calling a 31 year old man his elder. At least I am older in knowledge as age is just a number. However you try to twist issues, Peter Obi has little to show for his 8 years.
TravelRe: Onitsha At Night, The Las Vegas Of Nigeria (pics Inside) by Schematics:
The same way Owerre has 98% prostitution based population and commercial se.x hawking as its only viable economy activity.. cool

FYI: Onitsha has a diverse economy that is why 1/4th of Imo state population has invaded the city for their economic survival. You can live with that fact! cool

Abagworo:
I believe in being realistic than hiding under any guise to cover up the truth. Igbos are mostly traders and Onitsha has a 95% trading population. It is not wrong to accept this truth. It is also wrong to assume we are all traders but since majority of us are, trading has come to be synonymous with us.

It is equally true that we are the most dispersed ethnic group across Nigeria. We live virtually everywhere including Sambisa.

I must tell you, that old man knows exactly what he is doing, and he knows that I am the only one who sees through his complex.. cheesy

Ikwokrikwo:
Stop attacking Imo state because of that old fool.
You could see how he denigrated all Igbos in that post I quoted, he doesn't represent Imo in anyway.
TravelRe: Onitsha At Night, The Las Vegas Of Nigeria (pics Inside) by Schematics: 11:14am On Dec 02, 2014
Lolzzz!

He is a complex filled old man. Today over 98% of the traders at the Head bridge drug mart are from his Imo state. The clown deserves pity really.. cool

Ikwokrikwo:
Abagworo is a really disturbed man, he deserves you pity and not your wrath.
See what he said on another thread.

Reading his posts you will think Igbos only do buying and selling and you can't find Igbo professionals in other sectors of the economy from banking to telecoms to oil and gas.
He has mental problems.
