I think most of those pictures are not recent. The project has gone far beyond this. We can't wait for its completion soonest!

Onitsha Mall parking lot smooth awaiting asphalting. I heard there will be serious landscaping with grass and trees to make the parking lot into a sort of garden. The remote end of the parking lot will be demarcated away from the rest of the parking lot and made a conducive area for out door children's parties!

Stop listening to a sworn bitter man. All the roads connecting main market from New Market and Old market roads have been fixed by the previous administration. The ones that are not completed yet are still at the completion stage. Some of this people are just bitter and intimidated so they just do anything to get at us but we have surpassed them all. Today Imo state is as good as dead in all sectors but they will not go to their thread and unleash their frustration. Are we responsible for the under development in Imo state? Did we push Okorocha to borrow 200billion with nothing anywhere on ground to show for it? Imo state roads are still the worst in east even when compared it with aba roads. The teaching hospital still a poultry farm same is also imsu. So we understand when come over here to express their frustration on our advancement in all sectors. 1/4th of imo population have invaded Anambra to live and earn a living. So we understand..

i think yu spoken the truth somehow,

^^^^ You are not making any sense, you are actually the one that is in pains because of our advancement. Your bitterness and frustration cannot remove the fact that Onitsha is booming infra-structurally, economically as the most cosmopolitan city east of the niger..ahead of anything else! Onitsha is presently a mega city..

PoliticsRe: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by Schematics:
^^^Forget about what he wrote. His complaint arose from heavy traffic within and around Main market due to the season. The main market area is always a beehive of activities because of people coming from all parts of the SE, Nigeria and beyond for shopping.

That is why it is called the biggest shopping center in West Africa.

As for the infrastructural development in the city..it is top-notch. You can take that to the bank.

like seriously.. to avoid sentiment "Truth and reality is written all over this guy Comment." i thought i was the only one seeing it coming...that upper iweka still needs to be sanitized. too early for drums and praises everywhere... if you look at those street lights, some of them needs painting, re-positioning cos some has bent like mad. people still hawking(chasing buses) on the high way littering dirt everywhere..but they deemed it good showing us only Asaba/Onitsha Federal Govt 4lane whichi is not 1km as Obiano achievement. well i commend him for the road marking stuff and lighting it up. but that's not where anambra started and ends .. is nice but that 4lane is too sandy and dusty.... i mean i dnt just get the kind mentality way we get.

PoliticsRe: Senate Rejects Bill To Recognise Anambra As Oil Producer by Schematics: 4:41pm On Dec 17, 2014
Drilling it currently ongoing. Whether they include us or not, we shall explore and sell to the international market and make money directly.

Heroesglobal:
Mr 9jacrip please don't ask blind questions, marry your Google about oil producing states in Nigeria, you will see everything you want to see, Imo and Abia started producing oil for a very long time, Anambra had not only oil but has the largest Natural gas reserve in Africa which prompted China to have signed a $20b deal even during Obasanjo, Everywhere south is blessed google it nd don't argue more,

may it also interest you to know that few Anambra business men have already sank in more than 8b naira plus Anambra state govt to be able to put up the first indigenous Refinery in Nigeria there in Anambara state, so where are the kogites when all those investments were ongoing, Now they want to come nd eat from where they did not sow, Crazy lazy iddiots of the North.
PoliticsRe: Senate Rejects Bill To Recognise Anambra As Oil Producer by Schematics: 4:38pm On Dec 17, 2014
Stop it. Which way could he had presented it? Does Ayogu not know that Orient is already drilling oil in Anambra?

My take is that the clown Ayogu just want to play to the gallery.

Andy Uba presented the matter very well. The only reason I found that made the bill to be stalled was because of NBC ongoing delineation. Very soon they will be through with it and as we already know 98% of the oil fields are all in Anambra which is why there is drilling ongoing right now in Anambra.

Collynzo9:
Andy Uba messed up, it is as simple as that.
He didn't present the case like someone who even went through elementary school.
I would have been the first to shut him up if I was there.
Fûcking disgrace.
PoliticsRe: An Open Letter To Anambrastate Governor Willie Obiano From A Concerned Resident by Schematics: 3:35pm On Dec 17, 2014
Stop deceiving yourself..

What Obi achieved in 8years will take the clown Okorosha 30yrs to attempt. That is a plain fact!

I keep saying it that the only difference between Orji and Okorosha is that the former didn't borrow but did little work while the later borrowed over 200billion within just 3yrs but we have not seen anything on the ground to show for the grand fraud..rather its citizens are running to a nearby state to live and earn a living. cool

Abagworo:
Obi wasted 8 years without fixing those roads and even took a popular picture jumping on filthy road. Obiano is barely 9months and just because he fell out with Obi they are trying to blackmail him with Obi's failure.

I have and will always maintain that the difference between Obi and Orji is media propaganda.

APGA can get it truly right if they insist on fielding core professionals with long standing experience in human and capital resources. This way the party can churn out only full bred technocrats.

cjrane:
Independence means the ability to choose our own leaders. If we eschew personal ego and ambition to help APGA grow into a party that selects the best Igbo sons and daughters to rule our land, then we are truly independent from those that try to keep us down by choosing only our worst crooks and criminals to represent us politically.

Obasanjo desperately wanted a two party system so that he could impose whatever crook that served his wicked design as governors in the east. The multi party democracy ruined that for him.

REMARKS BY THE GOVERNOR OF ANAMBRA STATE, HIS EXCELLENCY, CHIEF WILLIE OBIANO AT THE SIGNING OF A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT, TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL COLLEGES, FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC OKO AND INNOSON VEHICLE MANUFACTURING COMPANY, ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2014

PROTOCOL

This is a remarkable event in the life of my administration. Today, we begin a new chapter in the powerful narrative of the New Anambra State. Today, we lay the foundation for the emergence of a generation that will fully demonstrate what we call the SPIRIT OF ANAMBRA to the rest of the world. With the MoU that we will sign here today, we begin a more organized quest for industrial excellence in Anambra State.

As some of you here may recall, I paid a glowing tribute to Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Limited in my Inaugural Address. I described the story of Innoson as “the story of courage and vision.” Our objective here today is to expand the vision of one man so that it becomes the vision of a people. We have resolved to avoid the mistakes of the past when we lacked the foresight to harness the gifts and talents of today for the progress and prosperity of tomorrow.

Ladies and gentlemen, the partnership we are cementing today is an important step in exploiting INDUSTRIALIZATION, which is one of the Four Pillars of my administration’s economic blueprint. The other three are Agriculture, Trade & Commerce and Oil & Gas.

Education is a very important ENABLER to all the Four Pillars. It is especially important to Industrialization. While our people have always demonstrated a strong inclination towards industrialization, there has not been a serious institutional effort to build our capacity to support our quest for industrial growth. There is a need to develop more approaches to capacity building beyond the Technology Incubation Center in Nnewi which is jointly owned by Anambra State and the Federal Government.

That is why this partnership is aptly tagged The Bridge Project. It serves as an important bridge, connecting the educational sector to the dynamics of the labour market. Under this partnership, we are redesigning the curriculum of our technical colleges to ensure the production of students that are truly equipped to fit into immediate employment.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is important to state at this juncture, that the Bridge Project is a fulfillment of the World Bank’s State Education Programme Investment Project (SEPIP) for 2014. The World Bank is committing the sum of $2.1m to this project. We must thank the World Bank for its significant interest in Anambra State and its efforts to assist our quest for accelerated development.

In this first phase of the Bridge Project, we are offering a unique training experience to 493 students, drawn from 11 technical colleges in Anambra State. These students and their teachers will learn the intricacies of designing automobile bodies and other elements of automobile engineering. It is my candid hope that the students and their teachers will find this opportunity a rewarding experience. It is even more so when we remember that the training will take place inside the workshop of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, the leading automobile manufacturing plant in West Africa.

Under this partnership which will last for 10 years, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company will not only offer its auto production line to the benefit of the students, Innoson’s crop of auto engineers, designers and technicians will also devote time to teaching and mentoring the students and their teachers. The beneficiaries will observe and learn the entire process of automobile production from the best hands in the business. A direct consequence of this partnership is that the State Ministry of Education, under the able leadership of Prof. Kate Omenugha has started the process of redesigning the curriculum of our technical colleges to accommodate automobile body building.

We are also using the opportunity offered by this new thinking to review the curriculum of our schools with a view to giving our children a more functional education than is presently the case. We must thank Chief Innocent Chukwuma and his group of companies for influencing such a remarkable change in our educational sector.

Another reason why the training should be of great benefit to the students and teachers drawn from all the technical colleges in Anambra State is the involvement of the Federal Polytechnic Oko. Under this partnership, Lecturers from the Federal Polytechnic Oko will support the Innoson Group with their own expertise in addition to providing mentorship to the beneficiaries. The presence of these lecturers will heighten the academic and conceptual content of the programme and ensure a balanced and wholesome experience. Indeed, we must also thank the governing council of Federal Polytechnic Oko for being a part of this historic partnership.

Ladies and gentlemen, it may interest you to know that in the past 5 months, my administration has attracted investments estimated at $1.63bn into Anambra State. Of all these investments, the one that will benefit the Bridge Project the most is the $150m agreement with UDIPPCO Ltd to build and generate 80 megawatts of electricity in Anambra State. It is my fervent hope that when this project becomes operational, the power supply challenge that has forced many industrialists out of business will be dealt a fatal blow to pave the way for the emergence of a new generation of industrialists and entrepreneurs.

On this note, I would like to thank the representatives of the World Bank, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Federal Polytechnic Oko and the various technical colleges here present for being a part of this historic ceremony.

God Bless Anambra State
God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Dalunu!

Chief Willie Obiano

Governor, Anambra State
