Well, firstly, games are SCRIPTED not PROGRAMMED

secondly, C# goes with unity... c++ goes with unreal

thirdly, which is suitable depends on the engine you plan on using... Unreal/c++ combo is pretty hard to learn, for both language and engine. Unity/c# or JavaScript is much easier (especially for a newbie)... However Unreal creates better graphics and has an inbuilt feature named "blueprint" which can handle the C++ scripting part for you.

lastly, here is a link to ebooks that can help you get started with scripting with unity (I do hope you however ain't a newbie to programming)

I think I will disagree small on the graphics part sha. Yes, graphics from unreal games tend to sometimes out shine their those done in unity, but we know that neither engine is a true modelling software. Am thinking this is because there are more AAA level artists presently working with the unreal engine

There's no unreal pro version. It's just unreal.

It's free, but you have to give them 5 percent of your earnings or something like that. I only do unity

If you have, you will know that you can only use JavaScript, c# or Boo ( whether anybody actually uses that in spite of how popular python is, I cannot say.) with unity3d. If you must use c++, then go learn unreal engine.

Just curious though, how far have you gone with the said game development?

Bro, there's nothing like 3d sprites. You can however get free and high quality 3d models +animations at mixamo

What I love is the way you asked your question and the level of details (LOD for those familiar with game programming ) you attached to it.

My two pence. Find out more on branch of programming you want to take. Where does your interest lie ( for example web, software, mobile applications, etc). Then also consider the whispers from your pocket. If you have the cash, nothing stops you from going for the programs and learning online too

Thanks a lot for the detailed reply. It turns out all I needed was a blackberry pin id. I would be porting the app to blackberry as soon as I kill a few cockroaches remaining on the app and add a little more touches .

Hello big boss. Am thinking of porting the app to blackberry, but I need you to help me with a few questions. Please I'd appreciate if you can be as detailed as possible.

1: does blackberry require a registration fee to deploy apps to it's playstore ( just like Google demand 25 dollars and apple 90 dollars)

2: Which ad network work for blackberry as the two that I used in the game (admob and chartboost) don't work and I don't want to use unity ads for now.

3: do people still download blackberry apps? I need your opinion as a blackberry developer.

Initially, coming from a background of mortal kombat, street fighter, tekken, war gods, and soccer. On arriving on the stores - IOS/Android, i had to settle for simpler games that are not so time-consuming.
By the time you commoth game pad to start playing soccer or combat game, your programming things don enter one chance be that.

What I mean is that it seems more people download those games. Games like GTA and mortal kombat x has like maximum of 200 000 downloads from playstore while temple run has a whooping 5 million ( I think it's more than that)

I discovered that a good part of my recent posts have been hidden by nairaland's antibot with the attendant bans. I have reviewed what I posted and can't seem to find out what I did wrong.

Abeg make the moderators ( I believe they can see hidden posts) help me look up those posts find out what am doing wrong, make I know whether na village people don track me come nairaland.

The said posts are mostly in gaming and programming sections

On a curious note, it seems those "girly" games sells very well for playstore. Any dude planning to go into 3d game development should keep that in mind
