Some years ago, I was told that one Akwa Ibom boy hears voices from his god and that if I write something on a piece of paper and fold it, he can tell me what I wrote on the paper without opening it. I am a very rational person so I laughed it off. To make them see their own stupidity, I offered to give the guy 10k if he does it in my presence.

Well, two days later, precisely on a Sunday morning they brought the boy. I went inside, wrote 10 things in a sheet of paper and folded them roughly and brought it outside. I remember writing things like:

3. De Bruyne
4. Nigeria is still a slave of their own independence
5. Kemi Olunloye has diarrhea of the mouth

Forgotten the rest... The boy did some incantations and some funny dances and took one of the folded paper, chewed it and spat it out. I held with me 9 pieces. I brought out the 1 one, he closed his eyes and touched it... After meditating for like 10 seconds he would say exactly what was on the sheet. I would open it to confirm. Note that I had my eyes on him and the paper was folded beyond recognition. ( Don't blame me, my money was on the line )..

This guy didn't even give me a chance to argue because those ones he couldn't pronounce, he would spell them correctly. Cos at a point, I was praying he would mispronounce words Edinburgh, lewandowski, De Bruyne or even diarrhea.

He crowned it by also saying what I wrote in the one he spat out. I didn't bother checking cos I knew he got it correctly..

Ever since then, I have been looking for logical ways to explain how that boy did that thing. The more I try, the more ridiculous I would sound.

They are criticized when playing badly, and are praised when doing well (particularly since the 6 month)... Jorginho and Rudiger are fine example of this, despite being label all sort of names on this board, they now being applauded and appreciated by our fans on this board even by their stanch critics.

Such is not extended to the academy players especially Mount which was voted our player of the season, rather his weakness are being amplified and re-echoed by some here. This is a major reason Donstan18 keep resisting Mount slander and even over hyping him in a bid to combat people talking him down.

This not entirely correct....infact most of our signing since Marina took charge is a prove to that, this attitude of always buying fringe players when academy players can easily slot in, as contributed largely to why we have too many deadwood on our hands difficult to offload lately.
I for one wouldn't bat an eyelid if we keep singing WC players that would guarantee trophy and success, remember the Antonio Conte's second season....Imagine Chelsea got Vvd, Lukaku, Alex Sandro, Niagolan/Vidal in that summer which Conte demanded for after a triumphant season, but no the board went ahead to get player of lower quality like Morata, Bakayoko, Emerson, Drink Water, Ross Barkley and rest costing over 250 million pounds. Whereas some player in the academy could pass as makeshifts, till we could invest properly into good players in the next transfer window.
If not for Lampard and the transfer ban, we could have gone ahead signing fringe players once again when the likes of Mount, Abraham, James, Gilmor, Tomori go do a good job....by now TT might be looking for means to offload most of them either because of poor quality or of their incompatibility to his system...added with Conte's deadwood too.

You guys should tone down on your hate towards this player. this guys are still young, free and can do a job or two in the team when needed, if not good enough can be discarded without much hussle. It's a win win situation.....if we aren't getting quality signings, we should just lock up and sign an okay player or two and pick players available from the academy, instead of loading up the club with Okirika players that would be a liability within few months. it's not rocket science!
