it's an internal harddrive, I've tried numerous connectors. the solution will be to low level format d harddrive and I need help in accomplishing that.

mdsocks: is the hard disk an external harddisk or internal secondary hard disk. Or is it a partition? You need to answer this first. If it is the same hard disk you have on your system which you use to run your operating system then you can never format it. however if it's an external hard disk that you bought the hdd casing and coupled before using it as an external hard disk then you need to change the hdd casing i mean the usb and connector and try again else some sectors are damaged. But atleast tell us what kind of hard disk it is.
