PoliticsRe: BREAKING: U.S. Court Denies Tinubu’s Emergency Appeal by scribe2000(m): 1:10pm On Oct 01, 2023
This is a very significant development, and only one of 2 things are possible: Either Tinubu is vindicated of this certificate thing once and for all (this seems unlikely), or this becomes his Waterloo and political end.

If forgery is proven, or the original CSU student admitted in 1978 turns out to be a female, I see no middle ground, even with a monumentally corrupt judiciary.

For the sake of Nigeria and her future, the next 48 hours need to come very quickly.

Great outcome for Nigeria.

PoliticsReal Origins Of "We Rise, By Lifting Others". by scribe2000(op): 4:40pm On Nov 20, 2021
"We rise by lifting others" was a phrase coined by the OCI Foundation’s President, Dr Chris Ifediora, back in 2016, when the Onyebuchi Chris Ifediora (OCI) Foundation was established.

Before 2016, that phrase was not in existence anywhere in this world. Not in that combination...

Quotes on Google were not there before 2016.

It was designed to match the lifting hand, which was crafted by a handsomely paid graphics designer hired by the OCI Foundation on the Gold Coast, Australia.

The attached logo, which came into existence in 2016, tells the story.

The OCI Foundation is an international (Australian-Nigerian) charity body established to advance health, education and social welfare, for Nigerians.

The Foundation is currently partnering with the NYSC, the NOA, the Federal Ministries of Health and Women Affairs, as well as the Nnamdi Azikiwe University and Innoson motors, to deliver on its aims.

HealthNGO To Provide Free, Digitalized Cervical Cancer Screening For Women In Nigeria by scribe2000(op): 12:53pm On Feb 26, 2021
SOURCE, DAILY TIMES: https://dailytimes.ng/ngo-to-provide-free-cervical-cancer-screening-for-women/

A non-governmental organisation, the Onyebuchi Chris Ifediora (OCI) Foundation, has announced plans to introduce free cervical cancer screening service for women using a state-of-the-art digital and portable technology called Gynocular.

The President of the Foundation, Dr Chris Ifediora, disclosed this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Onitsha (Nigeria).

Ifediora said that the screening service will be launched during the Foundation’s novel anti-cancer health initiative tagged ‘Arm Our Youths (ArOY) Health Campaign’ across the 36 states and Abuja.

“When fully in place, this service will, arguably, offer the most advanced and most reliable cervical screening test to Nigerians, relative to the current procedures available in the country,” he explained.

Ifediora further explained that the Gynocular was a cutting edge optics and LED technology, which could be used in any health setting in the world, both urban and rural.

According to him, it will be very suitable for remote locations in Nigeria, and can be used by any official trained to do so, not necessarily medical practitioners.

“In addition, the OCI Foundation intends to set up permanent screening centres in its Awka and Abuja locations, where the services will be rendered in an ongoing basis at token fees to Nigerian women,” he added.

He said that Anambra (where the ArOY programme was already functional), Benue and Niger (which are both in line to commence it), as well as the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) will be among the first beneficiaries of the screening service.

Ifediora said that the OCI Foundation was working with various state governors and the governors’ wives in its resolve to cover the entire country before the end of 2025.

“Already, a number of medical experts affiliated to the Foundation have received preliminary training via a Zoom meeting on Feb. 11, ahead of the full roll-out.

“To further entrench quality and ensure that results from this screening are reliable and are available within hours, the Foundation has commenced the process of establishing a team of world-leading experts.

“These experts were selected from Nigeria, Australia, Canada and the U.S. and will remotely view and report on the samples through telemedicine,” he stressed.

However, the President called on Gynae-oncologists and experts in the field willing to be part of the exercise of the Foundation to reach out to it.
NAN reports that the ArOY campaign is a novel, Harvard-endorsed, WHO-supported, and evidence-based health promotion initiative of the Foundation, being introduced across all senior secondary schools in the country.

The campaign, among other things, aims at tackling breast and cervical cancers among women and female secondary school students across the country.

He said that the Foundation’s aim was to inspire medical students who possess traits of literary skills. Ifediora said that students from the various medical schools in eight tertiary institutions across the South-East geo-political zone would be eligible to compete for the maiden award.

He said that such eligible students would partake in a literary essay competition with the theme “Back to the Future: Thinking back to 2020”, the essay seeks to know measures that can be put in place to ensure that the devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic does not reoccur,” Ifediora said.

He said that students were expected to submit essays of between 800 words and 1,000 words on the theme. He added that the submitted essays would be assessed by a panel of judges that would comprise students drawn from each of the medical associations within the institutions. The president said that the deadline for submission of the maiden edition of the essay would be 11:59 p.m. of Aug.31. “The judges will look out for creativity, relevance to the theme, originality, grammar and spelling,” he added.

According to him, cash rewards for the first, second and third positions have been designed to identify, inspire, and reward medical students who show literary dexterity.

Ifediora, a practising physician based in Australia, believes that literary skills among doctors could unlock huge potential that might significantly complement medical practice.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that OCI Foundation is an international charity organisation currently working with some state governments and institutions in the campaign against breast and cervical cancers in Nigeria.

The organisation also organises annual scholarship programmes for brilliant but indigent secondary school students in Anambra who were preparing for their exit examinations.

INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT FOR OCI FOUNDATION’S ArOY CAMPAIGN GROWS (AS AMERICAN CDC, NEXTGENU, AND MULTIPLE VARSITIES ENDORSE INITIATIVE)

The OCI Foundation’s Arm our Youths (ArOY) Health Campaign received a huge international boost a few days ago, as a number of the world’s powerful institutions and universities indicated support for the novel, life-saving initiative.

In a letter signed by the Canadian-based Prof Erica Frank (Founder of NextGenU.org, the world’ first free online University) and dated July 13th, 2020, it was indicated that, the American Centres for Disease Control (American CDC), along with NextGenU.org and the Universities of British Columbia and Saskatchewan (all in Canada), will be supporting the OCI Foundation’s nationwide roll out of the ArOY Campaign across Nigeria, as well as the research component of the initiative.

“It is with the strongest possible endorsement in my capacity as UBC Professor and Canada Research Chair in Preventive Medicine and Population Health, and as the Founder/Inventor of NextGenU.org that I write in support of the Onyebuchi Chris Ifediora (OCI Foundation)”, writes Prof Frank.

Prof Frank, who, in addition to being the Inventor and Founder of NextGenU.org, is also the ‘Canada Research Chair’ of the University of British Columbia, went further to state that “This partnership includes support from the extraordinary team assembled by Drs. Ifediora (Founder of the OCI Foundation) and Mutwiri (University of Saskatchewan), as well as the U.S. CDC, with which NextGenU.org has an extensive collaboration, where they have been developing and disseminating cervical cancer prevention education”.

She concluded by saying that “We are keen to further develop and study the effects of these resources and expertise in partnership with the OCI Foundation, and believe these initiatives to be essential and novel, with the potential to create significant impacts in the lives of young people and their communities globally”.

Recall that the ArOY Campaign is an innovative and evidence-based health promotion program that was conceived by the OCI Foundation, and designed to introduce anti-breast and anti-cervical cancer teachings into the regular curriculum of all Nigerian senior secondary schools, using measures that are sustainable, cost-effective, all-encompassing, and culturally-acceptable. It already has the endorsements of experts from the Harvard Medical School (USA), the WHO Nigeria, and the Griffith University (Australia).

The Onyebuchi Chris Ifediora (OCI) Foundation, a Nigerian-Australian international NGO, aims to introduce the Campaign across all the senior secondary schools in Nigeria, between now and 2025.

It has already successfully done so across all the 261 eligible schools in Anambra State, and are in advanced talks to do the same in Benue State and with the NYSC, before the COVID-19 lockdown took effect across the world.

A number of other reputable Nigerian institutions partnering the OCI Foundation on this initiative include the Innoson Group, the NYSC (National Office), the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs (Nigeria), Nollywood Nigeria, the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Silk Road Restaurant (Abuja), and the Post Primary Schools Service Commission, PPSSC (Anambra State), among others.

The OCI Foundation is in a nationwide consultation with major stakeholders in Health, Education and other institutions across Nigeria, in efforts to expand its partners, ahead of a massive launch of the ArOY Campaign as soon as the COVID-19 lockdowns are eased.
