Source: https://ocifoundation.org/oci-foundation-partners-with-unizik-nollywood-innoson-others-anaedo-online-news/September 17, 2019 OCI foundation has officially flag-of the program “Arm our youths Health Campaign” which is targeted to equip the young women and men with the know-how to curtail the risk of breast and cervical cancers in the society which is in a tricky situation. The foundation flag-off its campaign with an event at the auditorium of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) auditorium. Founder and president of OCI Foundation, Dr. Chris Ifediora in his speech said OCI foundation is designed to be a wide-reaching, sustainable and cost-effective way of spreading anti-breast and Anti-cervical cancer massages to millions of at-risk Nigeria women in a way that is timely, efficient and culturally-acceptable. Primarily, the campaign targets students across all senior secondary schools in Nigeria by introducing the relevant teachings into their regular academic curriculum, along with assessment/examination systems. “By 2025, it will benefit all the schools, across all the communities, and all the local government areas in all the states and geo-political regions of the Nigerian nation. Anambra state is only the first state to benefit, and has this privilege because the foundation’s activities commenced here three years ago and have gained lots of support, goodwill and the necessary buy-in needed to excel”. Ifediora informed The Vice-Chancellor, of UniZik Professor Charles Okechukwu Esemone in an interview with journalists commended the initiative of the foundation emphasizing that it is a welcome initiative. He stressed that with the quality structure put in place by the foundation, it is destined to succeed. It is good that the program is targeted at the youths, and focusing on prevention, which is better than a cure. We are proud to associate with them. Esimone called on government agencies, philanthropists, business moguls, wealthy and privileged Nigerians to support the movement. The best invasions are the once that are targeted at the youths. He advised the foundation to set up a trust fund where the public can contribute in helping to sustain it even beyond Anambra state. OCI foundation whose App is OCICorviBreast is registered both in Nigeria and Australia and has given scholarship and educational activities that have benefitted dozens of brilliant but less privileged students and pupils, across junior secondary, senior secondary, and tertiary institutions The high point of the event was the issuing of the certificate of ambassadorship to Unizik, Innoson, Nze Uche Nwaora amongst others and group pictures.

AN Australian-based non-governmental organisation, Onyebuchi Ifediora Foundation (www.ocifoundationng.org), has taken campaigns on breast and cervical cancer to secondary schools in Anambra State. OIF said the health awareness campaign was to ensure that young women were tutored on the danger of the scourge early in life. The one-day health symposium on breast and cervical cancer was held for female senior secondary school students at Stella Maris Girls’ College, Umueri, Anambra East Local Government Area of the state. The President and Founder of the foundation, Dr. Chris Ifediora, said the objective of the campaign was to create a society where everyone would be empowered to take control of their health, irrespective of their financial, social, cultural, religious and educational disposition. Represented by Onyechi Ononye, a lawyer, Ifediora said the prevention of breast and cervical cancers among young women was the first of the many steps in actualising her dream of knocking down barriers to the attainment of good and affordable health for all. He noted that while the foundation might not have the financial or political power to create or implement major health policies that would affect millions of Nigerians, it had the commitment and skills to empower the people in the way that they could take control of their health. This, he observed, could be achieved by changing the individual knowledge, attitude and practices towards some key health issues such as breast and cervical cancers. He stressed that the risks of breast and cervical cancers could be minimised by early detection of the symptoms and by empowering the young women in their teens. He said, “They can spread the message further to their parents, female family members and others in the society.” Ifediora said the programme would be limited to the three local government areas in Otuocha zone of Anambra State, namely, Anambra East, Anambra West and Anyamelum, adding that the project would be extended to other parts. Speaking, the wife of the State Governor, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, represented by the Executive Secretary, Anambra State Primary Health Care Services, Dr. Chioma Ezenyimulu, described the project as a good initiative. Obiano said though cancer had no cure, it could be prevented through early detection, adding that the state government had renovated 63 primary health care centres in the 21 local government areas of the state to boost healthcare in the state. ElsonMorali:I don't need to "form" for you. And you ain't even qualified to see my CV. Had you been well trained and not a disrespectful, tribal bigot, I might have offered you a job, better than whatever you are doing now. Your miss! Well, you are working too hard to digress and walk away from the mess you created. Next time, do not pick on people you don't know. Again, I urge you to get lost! |
ElsonMorali:[/s] You said nothing!!! I do not need your attention, but I only responded to you to put you in your proper place. And hey, I do not need an MTN data. In my world, I have access to unlimited data!!! And I did not just get employed. I employ people!!! Now, I warned you to get lost and stay lost. Be a good boy and do so!!! |
ElsonMorali:Focus on the issues being discussed, and stop sounding like a silly brat! Oh, wait a minute, maybe you are really one. Are you tired of being bashed? Come on, deal with the facts and stop looking for an easy way out. You looked for me first. And, even after I tried to forgive you, you came back with the trash above. Well, if you have the guts stay on, otherwise, get lost,...and stay lost!!! |
ElsonMorali:Lol. Tribal bigot! You can't even write without "speaking in tongues". You've been beaten on your own game and tuff. Respect your elders next time, and learn to mind your own business. Now go, and sin no more . . . . |
ElsonMorali:You sound pained! But I can't help you. Just put your energy in trying to grow up. You'll feel happier that way and will find it easier to quit envy. |
ElsonMorali:I am glad you have learnt your lesson. So, from now on, simply focus on celebrating the success, and do not be worry about those pointing out an aspect of the news people like you wish were never there. For the records, you were the one who first said that you expect people to champion the tribe of the young girl mentioned, then you went ahead to mention me as an example of that. When you grow up (if you ever do), you would learn to face the devils you create rather than blame others. On this occasion, that devil is that you instigated a tribal issue, but lack the balls to face it. |
ElsonMorali:Poor you. I'm sure you know I have never been involved in anything tribal here. But facts are facts! And you may just wish to check the original post. You would notice that these feats were recurrent. And the there names mentioned were 3 Igbos. Three, not one! |
They all seem to be Igbos. Blessed race, the Igbos!!! |
I thought her phone was stolen and that was why she couldn't provide evidences to support her claims? How did she find the phone now? And now that the phone is there, can she provide more facts? And, what really does the new image on the phone prove? |

Senatorial Ticket: Oyegun, Others Shun Ekwunife At APC National Secretariat Senator Uche Ekwunife’s controvercial journey to the All Progressives Congress (APC) might suddenly hit the rock, as the national chairman of the APC, Odiegie-John Oyegun and other members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) on Tuesday, shunned the former PDP senator at the national Secretariat of the party in Abuja. Ekwunife who formally announced her defection to APC at the weekend from the People Democratic Party (PDP), made a surprise appearance at the national Secretariat of APC at about 1pm in a Mercedeze Viano black colour, with registration number BWR 180 RP was seen moving from one office to the other without any of the party officials attending to the new member. Dependable sources at the party House told newsmen that the national chairman of APC was not billed to see the former senator. One of the sources said that the former senator was at the party Secretariat to lobby the party leaders for her to secure Anambra senatorial ticket without going through the primary. When newsmen approached the stranded defector to clarify some issues regarding her defection she simply look the other way and said she was not in the mood to talk. Ekwunife at the weekend revealed that she joined the APC because the PDP was no longer interested in winning the Anambra Central senatorial election which is expected to hold in March. She said part of her reason was to ensure that her people are well and equitably represented and have a voice in the national government. Reacting to the development, Minister for Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, had however said that the former PDP senator will not be given an automatic ticket to contest for the Anambra Central Senatorial election in March, 2016. http://247ureports.com/senatorial-ticket-oyegun-others-shun-ekwunife-at-apc-national-secretariat/ |

By SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORK Oct 12, 2015 The National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal for Anambra state has declared Tony Nwoye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the winner in a petition brought against the election of Peter Madubueze of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). Tony Nwoye A judgement delivered by Justice Nayai Aganaba in Awka today restores Mr. Nwoye as the duly elected candidate for the House of Representatives for Anambra East and West constituency. Mr. Nwonye had approached the tribunal asking it to set aside the election of the APGA candidate because the elections had been rigged in several polling units in his strongholds at Nsugbe Ward I and ll in Anambra East local government area. The tribunal sided with Mr. Nwoye and declared him winner by awarding him 3,003 votes from Nsugbe "Ward l" that was initially denied him during the April 11 National and State Assemblies elections in Nigeria. http://saharareporters.com/2015/10/12/election-tribunal-declares-tony-nwoye-pdp-winner-house-rep-election-anambra |
So Olu Falae himself lied? He said his kidnappers were fulani, and even recounted the warnings from them to him. Someone is trying hard to distort the truth here and push the blame on another ethnic group. |
socialmediaman:Regarding the bolded, these same vices have been there since Nigeria came into existence. These same vices have not disappeared under the current PMB presidency (Amaechi and Fashola are still free, and the Invasion of Akwa Ibom Govt House comes to mind). The whole essence of this post is to make the president aware that he can find talented Nigerians from every region if he searches for them. Merit is not limited to his brothers in the North. Unfortunately, his bigotry will blind him to this basic fact of leadership. |
I noticed that the list contains Hausa/Youruba/Igbo. I hope PMB can find such a balanced group of ethnically diverse, gifted Nigerians. |
Nigeria’s former president, Goodluck Jonathan recently described his appointees during his time in power, as a world class team. Jonathan made the assertion when he wrote a letter of commendation to the former minister of Agriculture in his cabinet, Akinwunmi Adeshina and the former director general of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Ms. Arunma Oteh. Adeshina had just won the race to become the president of the African Development Bank while Oteh had been appointed the Vice President of the World Bank. Naij.com profiles 5 officials who worked with Jonathan that have now gotten international appointments after leaving government. Read below: 1. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala: Okonjo-Iweala first stint in Nigeria’s government was under former president Olusegun Obasanjo who appointed her as finance minister in July 2003. Before then, she was the vice-president and corporate secretary of the World Bank. She was later moved to the ministry of foreign affairs but eventually resigned from the position after Obasanjo sacked her as the head of country’s economic team. She was however reappointed as minister of finance by Jonathan with an expanded portfolio that made her the coordinating minister for the economy. Yesterday, September 21, Lazard Limited, a prominent financial advisory and asset management firms that operates from 43 cities across 27 countries in Europe, Asia, Australia, North, Central and South America, appointed Okonjo-Iweala as a senior advisor with focus on sovereign advisory. She was also appointed the chair-elect of the board of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, founded by Bill and Melinda Gates. Akinwunmi Adeshina: Ogun state-born Adeshina served as Nigeria’s minister of agriculture before emerging as the president of the African Development Bank in May this year, making him the 8th president of the AFDB and the first Nigerian to occupy the position. Adeshina was no doubt one of the shinning lights of the Jonathan administration as his policies had a major impact of Nigeria’s agricultural sector. Before his appointment by Jonathan, Adeshina had excelled in the international stage as he was the vice president of policy and partnerships for the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA). Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Akinwunmi Adeshina Akinwunmi Adeshina 3. Arunma Oteh: Oteh was appointed by late president Umaru Musa Yar’adua as the Director-General of the Securities & Exchange Commission in 2009. But she stayed under the Jonathan government and was stoutly defended by the Jonathan administration when she had issues with Nigeria lawmakers who went on to withhold SEC’s funds just to spite her. But she was rescued by the then presidency as funds were approved for SEC directly from the presidency. She actively contributed to Nigeria’s economic development and helped to transform the Nigerian capital markets by exposing the mismanagement that was inherent in the markets. In July this year, she was appointed vice president and treasurer of the World Bank. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Arunma Oteh Arunma Oteh 4. Amina Mohammed: Another appointee Jonathan inherited from the Yar’adua’s government, she worked as senior adviser to the president on Millennium Development Goals, before she took up her present appointment where she is the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s special adviser on post-2015 development planning. Very experienced, she has been working in the field of development for more than 30 years both in the public sector and the private sector. She has also served on many international advisory boards and panels such as the Gates Foundation and the UN Secretary General’s Global Sustainability Panel. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Amina Mohammed Amina Mohammed 5. Muhammad Ali Pate: Pate raised eyebrows in the polity when he resigned as Nigeria’s minister of state for health in July 2013 and resumed as a Professor in Duke University’s Global Health Institute, USA. His action then was surprising as it is not in the character of Nigerian politicians or political appointees to abandon their posts for international assignments. A medical doctor, Pate is an American Board-Certified MD in both internal medicine and infectious diseases, with an MBA (Health Sector Concentration) from Duke University USA. He also serves on the agenda committee of the World Economic Forum and he is a member of the strategic advisory group of experts.
