I noticed recently that there is a lot of scammers on this thread who are here for reasons best known to them.
1. Don't join any WhatsApp group.
2. Don't pay money to anybody for any purpose.
3. Ask any questions here and you will get response.
4. The main purpose of Nairaland is to help each other, so that others can benefit too, don't be greedy to create a WhatsApp group that ends immediately you get your visa.

Its funny how i've been through this entire thread and nobody has talked about how student life truly is over there and job prospects after school. Even those who seem to know so much about the Admission process claim not to be students there. We're just here to help one another.
If you ask meaningful questions you will get response here, just drop your questions, don't private chat on gmail or ask for WhatsApp number so that others can read and learn.

It is unfortunate that people are not being told the rigors behind holding a National D visa to work. When you private chat some in there, they will let you know it's impossible to get a job with national D visa. Yet, they keep encouraging people to come over.

We need to help people out if we are there and know the situation of things better.
Are you in Lithuania or Nigeria? Stop saying what you don't know, you don't work with visa but permit .

I really did not want to contribute to this being that I am waiting for my passport I submitted since on the 9th of July at VFS Abuja and it's stressing me. Let me first congratulate you on your scholarship. I am an NDDC PhD scholar as well. Only difference between the both of us is that I can use my scholarship to proceed to any foreign University of my choice and I chose Canada as soon as I got a supervisor, a procedure that took two years of constant mails and calls to this same supervisor without response. I will leave that story for another day.

My colleague at the office got the PTDF scholarship to Germany as well and he's for PhD. He has been trying to secure a supervisor for the past 3 months and he told me it's been hell. He keeps getting rejected by the supervisors. I told him to take it up with the PTDF management during the induction which he did and he said you guys were told that one Nigerian Lecturer based in Germany had promised to help. He also told me you guys were given till September 2020 to utilize the scholarship or lose it. So, I wonder if you have gotten a supervisor and if you haven't. are you willing t put all your eggs in one basket, given the tight timeframe for your PTDF scholarship?

I was a recipient of the the PTDF split-site PhD scholarship in 2017 along with some other colleagues. One of our colleagues had already started his PhD at a Nigerian University then. The split-site did not work out because of the Nigerian University arrangement (you have to do two years abroad and one year in a Nigerian University) and so, this colleague re-applied for the PTDF 2018 scholarship and got it to attend a French University for PhD. At that same time he got the US Fulbright scholarship to spend one year of his PhD in an American University. He decided to opt for the Fulbright while waiting for the supervisor nod from the French University. I can tell you that my colleague is a about rounding up in the US and I'm not sure of his supervision arrangements with the French University yet.

I did my masters in Europe under scholarship with the NDDC as well and I can tell you that at the end of three years you will wish you had taken the opportunity to leave for Canada for a second masters. From language barrier, silent racism, opposite traffic orientation, unpredictable and irregular immigration rules, non-existent jus soli, difficult access to PR, there are a host of factors for you to consider. I don't know what your present occupation is but if you're not a lecturer and your long term goal isn't in the academia, then a PhD will be useless to you after 3 years. It is a backbreaking emotional and mental roller coaster and should only be undertaken when the individual is sure that it is what he/she wants.

You might also be thinking of moving to Germany for the PhD and then move to Canada after through Express entry. At that point, it will be difficult for you to use your degree in Canada without topping it up. I have friends with PhDs who got into Canada with EE and their PhD is useless because Canada low key doesn't value degrees other that theirs and America's. This is what recruiters call Canadian experience. I really hope you think about this well and not lose a great opportunity. I would advise you take the Canadian offer and start the program while processing your PTDF supervisor agreement in parallel because I know it will take you another 6-12 months to sort that out. If by the time you finalize the PTDF arrangements, you decide to switch to Germany, then you can write CIC that you are leaving your programme and request that your study permit be cancelled (there is nothing wrong with this as students drop out for various reasons).

you have 100 % experience, EU is not for baby, i am currently in EU.

What’s if he’s on visitor visa in London?
A Lithuania (Schengen) student permit better than being illegal in London.
Well it’s your choice. Whichever route you desire to pass.

Okay i will update the house on my ordeal as i go by. i have chosen to go through India through the Abuja Embassy although i am in Lagos because of their fairness. i am gathering all of the documents together before i book an appointment. However i have a few questions, Showing an email print out of your LT embassy appointment in India is a plus so i think i would try to get it. so anyone trying to do this must play around with dates and be careful. My questions are. Am i the one to book my appointment with the LT embassy in India or would it be the school(in their website, it was stated that the school would send an email) When the give available dates and the India visa isn't out by then what happens? do you write for reschedule?
You have to book a date for your appointment and your school has to send your documents to the embassy which normally comes with a unique code or number, you are to write this code or number on your filled visa application form

Well bro that's true and i must say this thread isn't giving as much insight as to the best route, the necessary documents and most cost effective but efficient response. i guess all of you out there are busy but if you spare some time and lay some helping it would be appreciated.

Well i got VMU admission and i have decided to go through Indian route. if anyone has a great knowledge please share.
Do i need to book an appointment with the LT Embassy in New dehli so i can be able to present to the Indian embassy here in Nigeria?
LT embassy in india is asking for a health insurance? do they accept an insurance from Nigeria or how do i bypass that ?
The TRP would it be issued by the school or how do i get it ?
,
Everybody in Lithuania came through different route, the documents needed for each route might be different but you can always confirm these documents from their website and you can also call or mail the embassy for confirmation, things are changing everyday and Lithuania embassy are getting smart because applicants and agents package students with fake documents.

So if you are going through India, kindly update the house about your experience in getting India visa so that others can learn from you. India route was used like 3 to 4 years back when India visa was easy to get in Nigeria, Most people come here only to read comments and update then request for whatsapp number, forgetting that some people here no nothing about getting visa mostly when you are in Nigeria.

Find out documents needed for India visa first, but you have to book appointment with the embassy, you can use insurance from Nigeria or Lithuania it does not determine visa approval, trp process depends on your school and Lithuania immigration

Do you have an idea about how long a Lithuania C visa will take in the embassy and do you need an invitation from someone in Lithuania?
You need invitation and it's normally rejection from Nigeria even if the person is your relation and it will be in the data base that you applied for visiting, it can scatter future plans for student visa, don't allow visa agents to confuse you after collecting moni from you, Lithuania is not heaven, Lithuania is the least country in Schengen

if your visa is valid they will accept the application

For now Egypt and Turkey visa from Nigeria is almost impossible to get, this year things are totally different and difficult, getting admission is good but visa is the ultimate thing you need to be in Lithuania or Estonia, making the right decision is very important at this stage as very few will be able to leave Nigeria. Labas for now

Advice is needed urgently please

My sister application for bachelor degree got rejected by VMU, she applied with WAEC WITH GOOD GRADES, the below is the email copy received;

Your application to Vytautas Magnus University regarding [BA] International Politics and Development studies has been rejected.

I regret to inform you that after reviewing your application documents the Admission Committee of the university has made the decision that you are not eligible for bachelor degree studies as your previous education results are too low and overall motivation.

We wish you all the best to find the education fitting your needs and future prospects.

Vytautas Magnus University

PLEASE IS THERE ANY GUARANTEED SCHOOL SHE CAN APPLY THAT CAN GRANT ADMISSION and like i said she has WAEC ONLY.

Your suggestions and advice will be highly appreciated.

klaipeda Universitty admission is still on going and will close this month....but is her waec good?

You need a residence permit in Finland to be able to work. Unless if you know someone dear to you that can do that for you. In such cases, you may still be paid below standard wage.

Good luck
Thanks Ggetter50 I am grateful for your reply, I am aware about the TRP law, that's why i'm asking here. Man just need to survive and pay tuition fee after the summer holiday. Nigerians who got contract and link could assist me.
