Romance / Relationship Gbese: How To Know If Your Relationship Is On Life Support by DyshApp: 4:27pm
It still feels like yesterday when my boyfriend and I had just been six months together. We got into our first big argument that left us both feeling hurt. Guess what?

We were arguing over a trivial matter, but our emotions got the best of us, and things quickly escalated. Before I knew it, we were yelling and throwing around hurtful words.

The worst part was that I didn't feel like he was hearing me. No matter how much I tried to explain my side of things, he just wasn't getting it. And I could tell that he was feeling the same way.

Looking back, I realized that the problem wasn't the argument itself but rather our poor communication skills.

We had never communicated our expectations from each other, and this brought about incessant conflicts.

So, one day, we decided to sit down and have a serious talk about our communication styles. We acknowledged our flaws and made an effort to not only listen to each other without becoming defensive or attacking each other's character but to also share how we want to be loved respectively.

"A relationship without communication is just two people."

"Two things that can destroy any relationship are Unrealistic Expectations and Poor Communication."

These were quotes I stumbled upon on Pinterest.

TONY GASKINS also wrote, "Communication to a Relationship is like Oxygen to Life, Without it, It Dies."

No mention of Hypertension?
That should top the list.
1 in every 5 young Nigerian is hypertensive.
And if the young man or woman was doing well before dying suddenly, it's spiritual.
I've measured BP of friends that visited and complained of one type of headache or another. Especially those Forex boys. And when they see 174/120, they be like "hmm I didn't know o".
Check your BP today. Hypertension no dey show for face.

talk truth. When was the last time you did a full checkup?

When you say "close to GOD", what kind of relationship did you imply? Religious or Spiritual? Cos basically what most Nigerians practice is the former.
Which is why a Nigerian would bind and cast all night, just to go ahead and cheat his neighbour the next morning. Is that the kind of lifestyle that gives long life?

That life for you bro.. Their's good and Their's bad. life no balance

The "Ghana must go" syndrome, which group of tribes perpetuated the act by ensuring the Ghanaians must live? Though it was a nationalistic law, the Ghanaians found safe haven in other regions of Nigeria unlike the south west state.
The politics thing is a tool used by the politicians and most of those who fell victim were the agberos and touts. I didn't say that there is no tribalism in yorubaland, pls don't get me wrong. But it is the least of the three major ethnic groups. Mind you, I've been to other yoruba states too. It's only Ekiti i have not lived in. I have also been to at least two hausa and igbo states too.

Take it for free, ALL the owners know exactly what they are doing. We all pretend like we are not Nigerians.

A very learned friend is currently in blatant violation of building code to build his AirBnB in Lagos and he won't talk to me again for telling him the truth. He recently paid over a million to some unscrupulous elements, who may or may not be official employees of the state government. He knows exactly what he is doing but kept saying 'this is Nigeria'. When government eventually acts, some clowns who don't care about general good of the system will start whining. Your parents warned you to always stand on the right side of justice but you keep saying "this is Nigeria", I can twist things my way.

Due diligence is on the engineers and architects, and most important, due diligence is ON YOU!

jamesversion:

I noticed building sinking also in Port Harcourt. Someone bought a swamp and built an estate on its. There were at the plastering stage when the building started sinking inside.

But why are engineers and architects wicked. Why not inform the owner not to build on such land. undecided

Firstly, understand that you are a human being, and human beings are not perfect (including the hypocrites here calling you all types of names and accusing you).
As a human being, you fell for hardship (that is why poverty is very dangerous).
Understand this and forgive yourself.
Secondly, tell your husband everything now. Return the man's money, too. ALL OF IT.
I presume you are married to a mature man (not a kid like those ranting here).
I also assume that you are telling the truth about this being a one time mistake and not your character flaw.
If your husband has always known you as a normal trustworthy woman, and he is not the deeply insecure type (BTW I warn women to never marry insecure man no matter what), he is likely to forgive and let bygone be bygone.
Just like Jesus told the woman caught in adultery, GO AND SIN NO MORE. cool

Men don’t easily forgive cheating no matter the circumstances or situations leading to it. It’s very hard for we men to forgive a cheating girlfriend, talk less of a wife. I will just advise she stops conversing with the man and focus on her husband. She seems to be a good woman.

I disagree with your Yoruba being tribalistic to igbo example. I am not a Yoruba but i live in Yoruba land and I can categorically tell you that Yoruba is the least tribalistic of the three major ethnic groups in Nigeria. If you want to know, find out how many Igbo live in Yoruba land and how many Yorubas live in Igbo and Hausa land. You'll discover that more Hausas and Igbos live in Yoruba land because they are hospitable to them. Apart from election period, you will never hear of any tribalistic behaviours towards hausas and igbos by the Yorubas. During election, politicians use tribalism as a tool, so that's the only time you'll hear of such.
You are funny.. this can be looked at in different ways and I suggest that you are using "Lagos" as a case study to determine to how hospitable the yorubas are but you still shot yourself when you talk about the use of politics to show how cruel they can be towards other race.

Contradicting yourself all in one comment, hamas is winning( they are practically begging every country to intervene), but Israel is killing civilians( but they just announced everyone should evacuate the south).

If you use your children as shield from a bomb, who did the killing, You of course, a right thinking people will not allow their civilians to be used as shield while the military hide under their skirts and cry genocide.

You want to fight, fight like a warrior, and die, don't hide under little children.
grin nonsense talk. Hamas is not armed. they have no tanks, no warplanes. not even body armor. everything they use are crude, improvised. then u talking about fair fight? u and ur IDF are the greatest cowards ever liveth!
same way Israel told civilians to head south at the start of the war and still bombed them on their way to the south. right now, close to 40thousand Palestinians are dead. more than 50percent, children.
Israel is the one using people as human shield. not Hamas. Israeli supreme court ruled over the matter sef. in 2002 the Supreme Court of Israel issued a temporary injunction banning the practice of IDF using Palestinians as human shield in the wake of the death of 19-year-old Nidal Abu Mohsen, who was shot dead when he was forced by the IDF to knock on the door of his neighbor, Hamas militant Nasser Jarrar, in the West Bank

Crime / Re: Kachallah Mai Daji: Niger Forces Arrest Nigerian Bandit Kingpin by tommy589(m): 3:05pm
ibechris:
Most northerners are in to banditry to make ends meet.

These are the kinds of people that made chief Awolowo to make that quote where he says, that the children of the poor u failed to educate today, will become a thorn on ur flesh tomorrow
.

The north can not stop banditry, not today not tomorrow except they start educating the poor the way and manner Peter Obi changed the narrative in Anambra state.

If they don't priotise education now,the future of the children of the rich would be gravely sabotaged tomorrow especially in the north.

My landlord a former army General from Bauchi state told me,that he cannot travel to his village anymore,I asked why,he said,do u want them to kill me. He further enlightened me that his village has been ransacked by herdsmen and being a former uniform man,he can't try staying a night there.

But in all,he said he ever regret living in Abuja as the cost of things have increased badly.

Above are the true situation in the country now.

Another from Awolowo

“But I think that the sooner than later the leaders of the North will see the repercussion of their selfishness and carelessness in their attitude towards Western education. But the time will not be too late, and if they don’t regret it or blame themselves for lack of foresight"

”In 1959, during the election that was to usher in independence in 1960, I embarked on an elaborate campaign in the North. I was using helicopter to campaign in every nook and corner of the North. The most important aspect of the campaign of the Action Group was free education, life more abundant for the generality of the people etc, etc. Our manifesto was centred on the development of man. We worked so hard that the Sardauna of Sokoto, Ahmadu Bello, was forced to campaign, a thing he was never used to. My hope at that time was to liberate the North from illiteracy, ignorance and the ranka dede mentality. If I had won the election, I would have put a lot of money educating the North in order to bridge the educational gap between that region and the Western and Eastern Regions. This was because I saw the lack of education as a stumbling block against political enlightenment of the whole region.

“Because they were not educated the voters could not make up their own choices. Rather, the innocent people of the North had to be dictated to by Emirs and the elites who feed them on a regular basis whereas in the Western Region, people could argue with their Obas, could read manifestos and make an independent choice which party and which politicians to vote for. Unfortunately, all my efforts to liberate the North from the cruel jaws of the oligarchy were frustrated by those who prefer the status quo to a new dawn of educational advancement. You can see that even now, the educational gap between the North and South is increasing by leaps and bounds. All the talk about catching up is non-sense…how can you catch up with somebody who is running while you are crawling?
