The government is wrong about this crypto thing. Yes, I think crypto is a scam, but people have the right to use their money for whatever. SO if someone wants to buy cyanide and drink it himself, so be it.

But the reason why the naira is falling is simple. We. dont. have. a diversified economy. We cannot earn enough forex to buffer the naira and provide for people's dollar needs. And dollar needs have gone up in the last 10 years

SO banning crypto and forex speculation...is just like building a Potemkin city. It looks good on the outside, but behind it is all rotten. It won't stop the naira being weak, so long as we are NOT A PRODUCER NATION.

Field Ruwe really gave us the way forward 12 years ago, but most people subjected him to abuse. I don't blame them...people no wan see.

Government should focus on diversifying the economy and raising tax income, instead of blaming people for forex issues. The same speculation has been happening for years.

Politics / Ukachukwu Brothers Deserve Commendation, Not Victimization, Ohaneze Demands Over by Oodua2024: 8:56am
Ukachukwu Brothers Deserve Commendation, not Victimization, Ohaneze Demands over Illegal Demolition of Investments

The Apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohaneze Ndigbo has demanded an immediate apology to the Ukachukwu brothers and their subsequent compensation by the Federal Government, over what it called, the unprovoked illegal demolition of the Real Estate Investment at Asokoro extension on the orders of the Minister of FCT, Barr Nyesom Wike.
Recall that officials of the Federal Capital Development Agency, acting on the orders of the FCT Minister, had on the 27th March 2024, invaded the project site with a detachment of over 300 security personnel including the Army, the Navy, the Police, and many others, and destroyed the properties.
The said property has the registration number: FCDA/DC/BP/ASD/29163 validly approved by the FCT authorities for development.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja, the President General Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Engr Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu said there is no way anyone can talk about the development of Abuja without giving due credence to Igbo entrepreneurs, especially young men like Nicholas Ukachukwu, who worked so hard to develop the place.
According to him, Ukachukwu would not have invested such billions in Abuja, if he did not believe in one Nigeria.
“When Abuja was probably one or two streets, Ukachukwu came in here and invested heavily in developing Abuja. By the time these Igbos came to Abuja, many Nigerians from other tribes did not want to invest in developing Abuja.
“So when I invited him and he complained, I was actually moved with compassion because I know that this is a person who sincerely is a patriotic Nigeria and believes in the unity of the country.
“So he is one of those Igbos that Nigeria should be proud of and that is why this demolition is worrying me,” Iwuanyanwu noted.
The Ohaneze Ndigbo leader who described Ukachukwu as an honest and straightforward businessman, said he believes that he was being unjustly victimized and the Ohaneze Ndigbo will ensure that such is not allowed.
He said; “I want to assure you that as the Igbo leader, I will do my best to make sure that the Ukachukwu brothers are not in any way victimized any further and that they receive the due restoration of their properties which they lawfully acquired.”
Meanwhile, the Ohaneze Ndigbo youth wing has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene on the matter as a panacea for peace, equity and justice.
The acting National leader of the Ohaneze Youth Wing, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu who made the call in a press briefing on the matter, said they have seen all the documents of acquisition, court judgments, orders, and evidence of Ministerial approvals for restoration of titles on the said properties.
He maintained that it is quite disheartening that this unlawful act was executed without recourse to the rule of law or any valid court judgment.
“Interestingly, this land was validly acquired in the nineties and has a clear history of legitimacy.
“Contrary to the claims of FCT Authorities, that the land was allocated in error to Praco international limited and the Ukachukwu's, FCT Authorities must be reminded that Nigeria is governed by law and as such should desist from anything that is inimical to the peace, unity, and progress of this country.
“We are miffed by the sheer audacity of FCTA to unleash mayhem on fellow Nigerians even without any serious provocation.
“ FCT Authorities must be cautioned, he said.
The Ohaneze youth leader demanded an immediate and unreserved apology from the FCDA to the Ukachukwu brothers, for labeling them land grabbers
“Government is a continuum; other past FCT Ministers were not ignorant of the law governing FCT land Administration; therefore it is instructive to note that Ukachukwu Brothers are law-abiding citizens, with National Honours, who acquired their wealth through dint of hard work and unwavering commitment for excellence, and have contributed immensely to Peace, Development and Overall wellbeing of the Federal Capital Territory.
“We therefore demand that adequate monetary compensation should be paid to the Ukachukwu brothers for the malicious and unwarranted demolition of their properties.
“We also call on the FCDA and the FCT Ministry, to desist from further unlawful encroachment of the said property forthwith.
“If the intervention of the Ohaneze Ndigbo National leader is not recognized, we shall be left with no choice than to seek redress through struggle,” Okpalaezeukwu insisted.

Even Peter Obi personally criticised the Coastal Road simply because it doesn't include Igboland. The SS and other regions are taking notes.

Shebi Coastal Road is a waste but 2nd Niger bridge is not a waste. Continue shrinking your support base through your factory-fitted stupidity.

People can lose election based so many season despite their fame. Should we list why they all lost out? Did you guys not say Obi lost cos of lack of structure. In other words he won but lacked the state agents that will protect his votes right? Well same thing may have happened to ikembc. The memories of the civil war still in nig head even till date and you think nig will trust him with any position? Even if he is the only candidate they will still find a way to make sure he lost

and joined a non popular northern party.

Someone, might not be you, said Ikemba (RIP by the way) was still influential even from the grave, the person then asked "in that case why did he lose" (if he was still influential from the grave)?

No other contestant was said to have still been influential from the grave, it was just Ikemba. You are still talking about other people who are still alive and/or haven't been termed influential as Ikemba was.

Now I am not sure why the poster asked the question and I guess from your reaction, you felt they were trying to denigrate Ikemba. I myself am very interested in the answer because I particularly find Ikemba intriguing especially politically post exile. That is why I followed up when you responded and I was expecting an enlightening answer, not a defensive one referencing other people who lost.

Per your rant about Peter Obi, I personally have never told anyone he lacked structure. Why even bring him up in an Ikemba discussion? If I talk about him now to respond to you at, other Obidients will start haranguing me saying I should leave him alone blah blah blah.

Just want to have a meaningful conversation about why you are atheist. Tell me, and we'll talk.

There are several reasons but the central thing is when I asked myself if I never believed in a god and was presented with the evidence of all of human history and what we know of the universe then told there was a good god that made all of this, would I believe? And my sincere answer was no. I then moved on to so what explains all the evidence best, an evil god? A nonchalant god? Or no god. The first 2 explain some things but not some others but the last fits every piece of evidence we have. That means what we are experiencing is just men doing what we can, with what we have, where we are. I immediately discarded faith and I felt a relief of being unburden of belief in what in seems like a dream and started embracing what is real.

Crime / ASP Kulu, Elizabeth Nabbed With Kidnapped Toddlers In Abuja by Coolgent(m): 8:39am
An Assistant Superintendent of Police simply identified as ASP Kulu, alongside her accomplice, one Elizabeth, has been arrested by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command for allegedly abducting five children, including a less than two-week-old-baby girl from Sokoto State.

Among the children were three toddlers under the ages of two, and a five-year-old named Asmau Ya’u, who was reportedly abducted while on her way to an Islamiyya school in Sokoto.
The suspects came under suspicion while traveling from Sokoto to Abuja in an 18-seater bus, as fellow passengers observed that none of the women could breastfeed the crying infant, despite her evident hunger throughout the journey.

A co-traveler who gave his name as Abba Danbaba and Comrade Nura Mukhtar of Human Rights Network Nigeria told our reporter that “On that Saturday (April 27), as we were traveling, we noticed that the children were in a frenzy and couldn’t talk.
So, as we alighted at Deidei, we queried them to prove if they were their biological children to which they answered in the affirmative. The ASP said she couldn’t breastfeed the toddler because she’s been battling breast disease.

“We then alerted Deidei police division who took the suspects to Gwagwa division and on Monday (yesterday), they were transferred to FCT command alongside the abducted children.”

Investigation revealed that ASP Kulu, reportedly serving with the Kubwa division, had applied for leave, which was not granted before her trip to Sokoto.

Subsequent inquiries uncovered additional children in her custody at her Deidei apartment, and witnesses from Sokoto Motor Park testified to seeing her with numerous children in the previous weeks.

When contacted, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed that investigations were ongoing.

It is not about looting all the money and looking the other way to the suffering of the people You lead. 14 years after Umaru Musa Yaradua's death, Nigerians still say good things about this man. His legacies of good governance will forever remain evergreen on our hearts.
He really showed that there are good people in every tribe in Nigeria and when such people are leadership position, the people must smile. 14 years after he died, Nigeria has become worst in both social economic development and advancement of its democracy. Too bad.

it is because she has alot to loose that's why she respects him more than you. He definitely slept with her or something close to that.

Most definitely, he has banged her. I believe that the come she told me that she's coming to my house was a hint that she'll be seeing that guy because they were both on off duty that day.

Thanks for your input.

PaaRichie5:

You have said it all. The guy has given you a timely lesson on the sexual behaviour of ladies. The ladies deem him superior to you. Your lady friend puts him above you and her husband. Do you know why? Because she has something to lose if this guy walks out of her life. Unfortunately it's not the same scenario for you. The role she wanted you to play from the start has been filled by this new guy. So beyond some few semantics here and there you are disposable in her eyes for now. She is just trying to be nice with her words.

Keep off the ladies at you workplace like you said. Going after them will make you look weak. They are his leftovers and are still drooling over him. You cannot be his backup option Sir. It's not that hard. Set your boundaries, be nice to them but keep off on the extracurricular aspect.

The funny thing is that you will get the lady on a silver platter las las. She is going to get heartbroken by the guy. The signs are clearly on the wall. And whose arms do you think she will ran to when the inevitable happens?Whose shoulders will she cry on. Your guess is as good as mine.

How do I move on now, almost all the whole ladies hate me so to say.

My major issue is that I can't keep communication with them in a way that will bring us closer.

I've come to realize that there are levels of communication when it comes to women.

The funniest thing is, I can't keep communication with my fellow friends, boys, for 5 minutes. Even my parents, I hardly talk with them.

I have some few female friends that I keep hanging. I did that because I don't want to ruin my chances, as in, asking them out and maybe them rejecting.

I am trying to learn this guys game but don't know how to start. As in, before he even ask you out, he has already weaken your mind.

He can discuss with ladies for hours and I am surprised how he does that. Only that keeps the girls hooked to him.

Please help me,

How do I move on and be comfortable with women and men alike.

Politics / Re: Minimum Wage: Labour Fires Back At Governors by Gajagojo: 8:18am
Salary level is not a right
It has a direct relationship to productivity
In most cases
The work you do. MUST generate income out of which your employer pays you
If you own a business you know this.

Minimum wage applies not only to government but to businesses too

How many business owners take home one million at the end of the month

The money must come from SOMEWHERE
If I own a suya business or a noodle business how do I pay 600000 a month

All this talk about living wage is nice in theory but
where will the money come from
If the employee does not generate the money he has to be fired
That is how the world works
If I own a bakery and a petrol station
I cannot take money from the petrol station to pay bakery workers
If that is happening then The bakery needs to close

The money to pay salaries must come from SOMEWHERE

🎯TOPIC: ANOTHER DIMENSION OF GOD'S LOVE

✝️ TEXT: Psalm 68: 14-26(NKJV)
68:14. When the Almighty scattered kings in it, It was [white] as snow in Zalmon.
68:15. A mountain of God [is] the mountain of Bashan; A mountain [of many] peaks [is] the mountain of Bashan.
68:16. Why do you fume with envy, you mountains of [many] peaks? [This is] the mountain [which] God desires to dwell in; Yes, the LORD will dwell [in it] forever.
68:17. The chariots of God [are] twenty thousand, [Even] thousands of thousands; The Lord is among them [as in] Sinai, in the Holy [Place.]
68:18. You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive; You have received gifts among men, Even [from] the rebellious, That the LORD God might dwell [there.]
68:19. Blessed [be] the Lord, [Who] daily loads us [with benefits,] The God of our salvation! Selah
68:20. Our God [is] the God of salvation; And to GOD the Lord [belong] escapes from death.
68:21. But God will wound the head of His enemies, The hairy scalp of the one who still goes on in His trespasses.
68:22. The Lord said, "I will bring back from Bashan, I will bring [them] back from the depths of the sea,
68:23. That your foot may crush [them] in blood, And the tongues of your dogs [may have] their portion from [your] enemies."
68:24. They have seen Your procession, O God, The procession of my God, my King, into the sanctuary.
68:25. The singers went before, the players on instruments [followed] after; Among [them were] the maidens playing timbrels.
68:26. Bless God in the congregations, The Lord, from the fountain of Israel.

✝️ STUDY: The scriptures, in many places, talk about the love of God for mankind. The most popular of them all is in John 3: 16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son...”From our text today, the Psalmist outlines other ways through which God's love for mankind is demonstrated: (1) God loads us with benefits (who dailybears our burden, v.19; NIV); (2) He saves us, v.20; (3) God fights our enemies, who are God's enemies too, v.21. All these show that God has his people in mind and does not turn away His eyes from His people when they face challenges. This is why the Psalmist says that God is our Saviour who daily bears our burdens (v.19; NIV). When Christians face great trials like health issues, financial crises, marital problems, unemployment, insecurity, etc., God invites them to cast their burdens and cares upon Him (Psa. 55: 22). He then bears the weight of the burdens and sustains His people in the situations. God sets us free from bearing the burdens which enslavement to our enemies would impose on us. Our Lord Jesus Christ himself invites Christians who are faced with challenges to come to him with the assurance of giving them rest (Matt.11: 28). Again, Apostle Paul urges Christians to bring all their anxieties to God in prayer instead of worrying over them (Phil.4: 6). Taken together, all these clearly show other dimension of God's love.

✝️ PRAYER: Father; may I always recognise and appreciate your love for me, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Politics / Re: Lost Opportunities: Edo State's Economic Decline Amidst The Absence Of Foreign by esoheidehen: 7:20am
We can't afford to still put these people back. We need change
Akpakomiza2:
In a recently released report, the National Bureau of Statistics revealed the state of foreign direct
investment in Nigeria. It was disheartening to learn in the report that 18 out of the 36 states in
the country failed to attract any foreign investment between 2021 and 2023. Among these states
is Edo State, under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki. The dearth of any foreign
investment in Edo State is a clear indicator of the lack of progress and gripping economic
mismanagement under the current administration.
It is imperative to address the glaring issues of lack of focus, creativity, and gross incompetence
that have characterized the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration, leading to the
stagnation of Edo State's economic growth. The absence of foreign direct investments in the state
speaks volumes about the failure of leadership to attract and retain crucial investments necessary
for sustainable development.
Governor Godwin Obaseki has fallen short in steering Edo State towards economic prosperity.
While boastful of a team of "brilliant minds," the results of their governance paint a stark contrast
between rhetoric and reality. What they say they are is at crossroads with who they really are. The
penchant of the current leadership of Edo State to talk more than their advertised capacity can
handle, has left Edo State floundering, with promises unfulfilled and potential untapped.
The so-called brilliance within the administration has failed to translate into tangible benefits for
the people of Edo State.
As we approach the next election cycle, it is crucial for the people of Edo State to consider the
future of their state carefully. The failures of the current administration should serve as a wake-up
call for voters to demand better governance and leadership that prioritizes the interests of the
state and its people above all else.
We beg to ask where the brilliance of the economic team of the Obaseki administration is hidden.
As things appear, it impresses the discerning mind and lover of Edo State to see through the
smokescreen, and that what is being peddled as performance in real, actual terms is nothing but
repetitive failure disguised as deceptive grammar yet having no real impact on our brothers and
sisters in hundreds of communities across the state.
In conclusion, the lack of foreign direct investments in Edo State is a clear reflection of the failure
of leadership under Governor Godwin Obaseki. The time has come for the people of Edo State to
rise up, demand accountability, and vote for change. Edo State deserves a brighter future, and it is
in the hands of the citizens to make that future a reality through their votes and actions.

*Edo 2024: The real story of foreign investments in Edo and why APC, Mayaki can’t see beyond their nose*

It is election season again in Edo State and the hawks and purveyors of hopelessness and despair are on the loose. They are scurrying to find a sweet spot to exploit the candidates in the September 21 gubernatorial election, writing disjointed pressers in an attempt to justify their pay from overlords who seek to upend the gains made in Edo State in the last eight years.

Hence, it is not so surprising to see that a defanged penpusher, John Mayaki, who has been disgraced publicly for trading in lies and falsehoods in previous election seasons, has taken on the job of media handler for the All Progressives Congress (APC). He has returned to his rusty pen because he has found people to pay him to tell baseless lies and embark on ill-fated propaganda.

As it has become a tradition for him, he has kicked off with the same old script of peddling lies, falsehoods and half-truths. With a candidate who had to opt for a ‘miracle centre’ to obtain High School certificate at the age of 36, the APC has elected to parley Mayaki to do their bidding, seeing that they can’t run the election on facts, credibility and sound reasoning.

The target this time is to rewrite the story of investment inflow into Edo State, premised on a curious report that had said that the State had attracted zero foreign investment in the last 3 years – a rather curious discovery.

The report would have given one sleepless night except that it is not true and doesn’t reflect the reality in Edo State. Perhaps, one would say that Edo has been one of the busiest states for investors in the last few years. The State has attracted big-ticket investors that have led to the expansion of the local economy.

The total inflow of investment into Edo State for the past 8 years is capped at N5.6trn. One of the biggest investment windows is the Edo State Oil Palm Programme (ESOPP), a N700bn investment outlay attracted to the State for the development of over 70,000 hectares of oil palm plantation across Orhionmwon, Ovia South West and Ovia North East, Uhunmwonde, Owan West Local Government Areas of the State. The project has been described as the biggest oil palm development programme on the African continent.

Some of the companies investing in the ESOPP programme include Dufil Prima Foods, which has Singaporean-Indonesian origin; Fayus Inc., an America-based company, Flour Mills of Nigeria (FMN), among others. These companies are replicating the Okomu Plc and Presco Plc marvel by developing expansive plantations in the State and employing thousands of workers. Aside from cultivating oil palm, some of them, like Dufil Prima Foods, are investing in an integrated farm, which also features an ethanol plant.

Other investors in the state include Radisson Group of Hotels, which is building a 170 key hotel in Benin City. Although the government is involved financially in the project, the group is also making commitments to the building project, which will transform the hospitality and tourism sector in the State.

Another key investor in the State is Mota Engil, a Portuguese international group, which has emerged as the preferred bidder for the Benin River Port. The company is set to move to site to commence construction of the 300,000 TEU port project in Benin.

Also, the Ossiomo Independent Power Project is the product of an earlier partnership between a local company and CCETC Power, a foreign company. The 6600 barrels per day (bpd) Edo Modular Refinery was also birthed through a partnership with AIPCC Energy, which has a Chinese origin. The slew of foreign investments are testaments to reforms undertaken to open the space up for private capital either from within or outside the country.

It is not surprising that the APC and Mayaki cannot appreciate the import of attracting investment because that is not how they reason. They are more concerned about fleecing the people, eating the ‘seed yam’ and empowering non-state actors to unleash mayhem on hapless citizens.

For Edo, it has been a story of an avalanche of investments in the last eight years. The companies, plantations and factories that have been set up are testament to these. The fruits are already sprouting. The efforts to rewrite this feat by emergency historians will amount to naught.

Edo people know better and will not be deceived by efforts of charlatans to market a bad candidate in their quest to return to government to serve their selfish ends. Not only are they blinded by greed, the APC and Mayaki cannot see beyond their nose, which is why they are incensed by the progress recorded in Edo in the last eight years.
