Hello Mr belong & everyone... trust u all doing great... been an off and on person on this thread as I feel its a cumbersome process back then which requires a lot of finances to make it become reality. oh well I chickened out back then because I had no funds to carry on this process and no job experience per say.. but with the Glory of God, I have some lil work experience teaching @ a college in South Africa (2years & 2months)... I recently did a free evaluation with delta immigration to peruse my chances of making the required points for my desired subclass i.e 189 but it seems I might in reality be short of points from the evaluation which is 60points... this is a breakdown of my points

N.B my assessing body is aitsl for skilled occupation SEC SCH TEACHER

Age - 30points
Qualifications - 15
ielts in view - realistically as an objective person from all studies on many forum I feel I can only make 10points on this. ALSO CONSIDERING MY PRACTICE RESULTS THAT I HAVE DONE... having a band of 8(superior English) in all bands to get 20points might be tough one so I already realistically scored myself (10 points)
Experience : 0 points

TOTAL= 55POINTS

pls my query to everyone with suggestions is this.... the agency where I did a free evaluation put something in perspective for me i.e I might be able to get 5points for work experience in 10months time having just worked for 2years and 2months as at now. but the reality is I have a one year experience from NYSC when I did my nysc, teaching in a secondary school but as we all know I don't have a concrete evidence to show for this asides my NYSC certificate which does not even indicate my place of primary assignment.

If you really did do the NYSC (I'm not saying that you didn't), go there, meet the principal, if you are lucky they wont ask you to wet their pockets, you might even type the letter you want and give them to sign, as long as you worked there, I believe they'll help.

so pls guys I really wanna commence with all but I feel I might only make 55 points for now.. but If i can claim experience from my nysc WHICH I DONT KNOW HOW, it will give me 3yrs+ experience hence giving me 5points and me scoring 60points pass mark required. alternatively, if I wait 10months more I will have 3yrs experience @ my current work place and bag me 5points but like I said I wanna start this process now so the waiting game for me is not an option.

pls guys advice me on how I can or how possible to claim work experience with NYSC ( I only have my nysc certificate) ??

I am baba ijebu and I don't want to start wasting money on assessments that wont come out positive

Thanks guys

Greetings House, when people say information is the world's currency i don't understand until I found this platform yesterday night. since then I have been reading it. I just finished reading the threads, and I must salute the person that started it and those who have been contributing to it. It has opened my eyes to a lot of things. I'm really happy for those who have successfully applied and had traveled. I believe the door will open for others as well.

I have checked the skilled occupation list, I found one I can apply for but I haven't heard anyone on this platform apply for secondary school teacher. Pls if there is anyone I need assistance for assessment of my credentials

I have Ba.ed in history education but the aitsl(EVALUATION ORGANIZATION) wants me to provide specialised teaching practice certificate which was not issued separately by my university.... It is part of our coursework in school.

Also ,I want to ask if I must have certain amount in my account when visa has been issued...

Age ...30points
Certificate.... 10points
ielts .....?
Work experience..... 1year 4months

Thank you

thanks. according to what I read on aitsl, I think I need to sit for ielts first, before proceeding with the accessment?
and please, can I apply for this occupation at any time of the year?

Yes, you need to write an English test first.

Yes, you can apply anytime but the earlier the better. Delay can be dangerous.

i kept wondering that from page one of this part. no one o quote NO ONE applied as a teacher for PR. does that mean nigerians were not qualified or our certificates wete not recognised by AISTL or we couldnt meet up with band in ielts.? very suprising. abi owo lo fa ni?

There is no part that says Nigerians are not qualified. There are teachers who have migrated and are not on Nairaland.

This thread is a general instruction for all occupations. It was listed there that you should follow the instructions of your assessing authority.

Take time to read requirements of aitsl, I guess for teachers. If you can meet their requirements, you are good to go.

Hello to all ogas here,@bellong good work bro, please help me do justice to this enquiries,

I am hoping to apply for PR and my wife will be the principal applicant with the following details

Age -36 years

Qualification - B.a Philosophy(2006) and Post Graduate Diploma in Education(2014) (pgde certificate not collected)

Experience _ 8 years plus of Teaching with Lagos state government in a secondary school teaching Government

English - Yet to be taken

Please note that i found on the SOL and CSOL list there is Secondary school teacher(philosophers can also be teachers in career)to be assessed by aitsl

Questions

1.can you help me calculate her points
2.Is there any other job description she can use on the SOL list
3.her assessing body want her to do ielts with 8 bands, can she also use this at dibp(i prefer PTE sha)
4.should she use her degree or Pgde for assesment(she finished pgde in 2014 at National teachers institute, kaduna)

i will ask more when you answer, thank you in anticipation(please also add your advice, thanks

1. If you follow what I wrote in the opening and subsequent posts, you will be able to calculate the points you have control over. I can't calculate her total points until she has done skill assessment and written English test.

2. You can check the two list for a closely related occupation. However, since she has been teaching and has a certificate degree in Education, she can nominate teaching.

3. Yes, she can use it for DIBP. If she gets 8 in each band, that is 20points.

4. If she is assessing as a teacher, she should use both.

House please help, the university I graduated from sent my transcript to aitsl(Australia institutue of Teaching and school leadership)the assessing authority for secondary school teacher migrant in the consolidated sponsored skill occupational list of Australia.Actually aitsl required that the transcript should be sent by the applicant alongside other neccessary document, aitsl warned against sending one document then later sending other documents which will be considered as incomplete application, they required that all the neccessary documents for application should be certified and mailed together by the applicant.when I contacted my university and applied for a transcript requesting for my transcript to be given to me they told me it was against the school policy to give transcript to graduate student after some weeks of application for my transcript I have been told that my transcript has been mailed to aitsl by the university which aitsl will consider it to be an incomplete application because I have not sent other documents to them which I planned during if I had my transcript at hand so am confused now please people in the house I need your advice

How did your ielts goes.
