Good morning everyone.
Please I have calculated my points and I can see I have a score of 85 for subclass visa 190 if msc is removed and double honors degree is approved. If msc is added I have 80 points as my three years job experience becomes null. I studied English Education, a four year course at Tai Solarin University of Education(4yrs course with certificate of B.A and B.ed and yes we did 7months of teaching practice). I have a masters in English and Literature studies(from Univeraity of Ibadan). And 3 years of work experience as an English secondary schoolteacher. I've written CELTA (which makes me a specialist in ESL) and have academic ielts results.
Aim is to teach english at ESL level or as a Secondary school teacher till I do my phd. All my experience is before masters. Will they be accepted by AITLS? Destination is Melbourne.

I need to know before proceeding to pay for assessment with AITLS if my degrees are acceptable by AQF. And do you think I can get the 190 visa with my 85 or 80 points? I am single and unmarried.

P.S I also have a vocational result in fashion design from my university and an additional one year training with certification.

You can apply if your other points meet the minimum requirement for ITA cos your current English score is z

As it is, aitsl requires ielts Academic 8877 for a positive assessment.

Also, can I apply for visa 491 with the competent English (6.5) result that I have or should I still write to get higher score?

You have read that you don't need work experience to assess with aitsl. I don't think there is anything complicated on their website.

Sit for ielts and score minimum of 7 in each band. However, without any experience, will you be able to make the minimum of 65 points?


Secondly, I don't think there is any formal qualification for a customer service manager. People I know that got positive assessment in the occupation do not have any academic qualification as a customer manager. What you should be concerned about is how you can align your job descriptions with that of the anzsco job descriptions for a customer service manager.

VETASSES will give you a positive assessment if your job descriptions align. Customer service manager is a skill level 2 which means you don't have to worry if your school is tier 1 or not. If you can align your skills to the job descriptions of a customer service manager, you stand a very high chance of getting a positive assessment.

I need help please. I studied English language (education) - UNN. Other than approximately 2 years teaching experience which includes my NYSC and teaching practice experience, I have about 8 years experience in administrative functions and I am confused on what to apply for under the skilled occupation in subclass 189.

In a nutshell, my certificate I'm education doesn't confirm with quality experience in another field (administrative officer). I need advice on if to apply for education using just 2 yrs experience or look for something similar to admin although I don't remember seeing admin in the occupation list.

Please advice me professionally while considering the points that would be accrued to me

In this point things involving married couple. Both need to have qualification n skills assessed by d relevant authorities and take english test too? If am d principal applicant, my wife's ielts, age, qualification n Skil assessment will only add 5points t me and she will get no point on her own either , If my wife's is the principal applicant too, my age, ielts, education n Skil assessment will giv my wife just added 5points as well? Did I understand it. Your analysis on the partner point is correct.

But does it mean dt f u didn't assess ur partner's qualification n skill, he /she wouldn't be allowed t join d oda t live n work in Australia. She is still eligible to join you, only thing is for her to provide evidence of English proficiency which is usually 30 in PTE or 4.5 in ielts or letter from her school stating she was taught in english (this last option is usually subjected to CO's willingness), so I lean towards taking the English test


My wife is younger than I am, by her age, she is sure to get 30points on age, but she has NCE but has only taught in primary school for jst 2yrs

Me, by d time, I will b getting assessed by EA n finally writing my EOI, I estimated a yr, by den I will only get 15 in my age( 38 nw).I hv 10yrs job experience in line with my education qualification.(HND civil engineering).
one year is over stating the fact, you can be done in a 4 months will utmost dedication and fast track

She can access as a Secondary School teacher with aitsl. She needs to take her ielts exam before the assessment. They require a minimum standard in the English test (Read it up)

As a secondary school teacher in a subject like Mathematics, she has a good chance. But it will be difficult to achieve your aim if you don't read extensively.

I need urgent advice on way forward for this PR matter.

I have a 2.2 bsc degree in mathematics. A msc degree in mathematics. A PGDE from NTI.
Work experience: 1 year nysc teaching time, 2 years in another school as a maths teacher, 3 months as a primary teacher, 1 year as a contract part time lecturer in about 3 universities outside the shores of naija as an undergrad maths and OR lecturer. Currently in a secondary school in naija as a maths teacher.

Toefl scores: writing: 22, reading, listeningand speaking: 24,24,23.

Which of the various options can I pursue.

I will be glad if someone can take his/her time to help and advise accordingly.

Hi Ezilytina, We can rob minds together as i am also a newbie. Thanks to the info given by oga Bellong and all the senior Gurus, I have most of the information needed to start the processing. I joined the thread few weeks back, started from page 0 and read each page diligently(Now on Page 323).

As teachers, We assess with aitsl. 8/8/7/7 @ ielts & supervised teaching practice are both important to get positive assessment from them.
