Nairaland / General / Navigating The Pitfalls Of Online Ventures: A Guide To Sustainable Success by Mikel57(m): 1:32pm On May 04
Sometimes I wonder why people have this "what if" situation embedded in their mindset. Do you doubt your abilities?

I chose to be a Marketer (Affiliate), but to tell you the truth, I didn't think for a moment that I would make it or even be the best at it, even though I haven't scratched the surface. My journey in the "make money online" realm started with FREE PLATFORMS, then I ventured into PONZI SCHEMES but didn't succeed. Africans, especially Nigerians, can relate because it's a common practice here.

These are the kind of things lazy teenagers do. Because what they don't know is that they are playing "Risk with Reward." In the end, they tend to regret, cry (sometimes), and get frustrated, wondering why the platform crashed or why it didn't work. This is one of the common problems with the platforms they invest in they often crash, leaving them with little to no profit and they live with it. It pains me to see them face this. I remember a video where Iman Gadzhi mentioned why investment is unwise for beginners - the risk to reward balance. Most beginners always want quick money, something they don't have to stress themselves about. But why do they think this is simpler than investing in a life-changing course, book, training, or mentorship that could change their financial life?

Now I see why marketers advise against indulging in PONZI SCHEMES, even though they're common. Most marketers started there and ended up nowhere until they took up a skill that could change their life.

One thing people don't understand is the potential ahead of them in buying an expensive or cheap course.

Don't get me wrong; people can still buy digital courses/ebooks to learn a skill and benefit nothing from them if the value offered is pointless. So my advice is to take a course but also "Choose your information correctly." If you don't want to buy a course/ebook, you can learn organically, i.e., through YouTube I highly recommend it. YouTube is a learning studio for beginners who do not wish to spend and also it's the second largest search engine after Google. So there's a massive amount of information available. Even I didn't buy a single course, though I had them at my disposal. I used YouTube most of the time and got the value I needed. But those videos aren't as packed with valuable information as a course could provide. That's why I took the UIG Course (Ultimate Income Generator) made by my mentor. Funny enough, you go to university to extend your educational knowledge, so why not take a course?

The most popular online businesses here in Nigeria are PONZI SCHEMES, Content Creation & Affiliate Marketing. I wonder which is getting the upper hand. Affiliate Marketing should, why? It's easier to start, but most people see it as stressful or hard. It can be hard if you don't have the right information and guidance. But what if you do? Can you make the most out of it? Can you be consistent? Another thing people should know is marketers advise against taking affiliate marketing as a "GET RICH QUICK SCHEME " I.e the likes of PONZI SCHEMES. You will fail if you do. Affiliate Marketing is simple if you understand it. Get information, learn it, and implement. I remember a word that the prince of copywriting, Emmanuel Akpe, said, "If you know your onions, you'll eat your suya," meaning, "If you have the right information, you can succeed," no matter the outcome.

Leave PONZI SCHEMES; they won't fetch you anything. They may get you a couple of thousands, not millions but there's always a but. Do you know that you, who's just starting up, is competing against thousands of successful investors who know the tricks, tactics, and truths about those platforms? They would never tell you all they say is invest now while it's early and gain, which makes you an entire loser in the game because you know nothing more than just the basics.

But if you invest your time in learning skills such as Sales and Marketing, Content Creation, Copywriting, Website Design, Graphic Design, Ghostwriting, Social Media Management (SMMA), and more, you stand a chance of being a winner among your peers in the game. No one would give you information on these skills without mentorship or guidance if guidance isn't involved it's entirely a waste. Having a good mentor or advisor in your business is essential for growth.

A good mentor wouldn't lie to you; they'd be ready to reveal their secrets for your success. All you need to do is be attentive and listen to them, and you're on the path to achieving that goal. In cases like sales & marketing and content creation, a good mentor would come in handy.

If you can understand and apply this as a beginner, you will surely succeed.

So choose wisely.

So having said this, I hope this information gives you a push in the right direction to avoid PONZI SCHEMES and anything short of investment as a beginner. If yes, please like, follow, and comment.

And share this with anyone who you think might benefit from this information.

I'll leave you with my word: I await your success, and I'll see you in the next.
Education / 17-year-old Earns Bachelor's Degree From YSU Before Graduating High School by greenermodels: 9:34am On May 04
*17-year-old earns Bachelor's degree from YSU before graduating high school*

One Poland Seminary High School senior is preparing for her high school graduation at the end of the month. But she's already a few steps ahead of the rest.

Bianca Patrone will walk the stage at Youngstown State university, receiving a Bachelor's degree before she even earns her high school diploma.

17-year-old Bianca Patrone started taking college courses through YSU's College Credit Plus program when she was just 13.

Patrone learned about YSU’s College Credit Plus program after listening in on a senior assembly at her high school.

“I just stood right in the doorway and I listened because it was for the seniors," Patrone said. "I realized when I researched it that you could start in seventh grade. So, I decided to start that summer before my eighth-grade year started."

"I said, 'Are you sure?" said Sarah Eisnaugle Bika, Program Coordinator and Biological Sciences Instructor. "She wanted the challenge and some students really want the challenge." Eisnaugle Bika worked closely with Patrone during her journey as her advisor at YSU. "This is a lot of hard work. It takes a tremendous amount of time and not everybody can do what Bianca accomplished."

Patrone is the first student in the CCP program to earn a Bachelor's degree just weeks before her high school graduation.

"I'm just very proud," Patrone said to 21 News. "I've worked so hard to get here. I knew when I started the fall semester that graduating this spring was a possibility. Once I figured that out, I knew that it would be my end goal to get here. Now that it's here, it's so shocking but exciting."

She's had a strong support system, earning the necessary high school and college credits. It was a challenge completing internships at such a young age because employers were hesitant to hire a teenager.

"She was just very focused so the very first time I met her, she was very driven," Eisnaugle Bika said. "She had a passion for what she wanted to do and she knew exactly what she was going to do and how she was going to get there. She found all the courses needed. If something at YSU didn't fit in with her schedule, she would go take it at Eastern Gateway Community College. She was very flexible with how she accomplishes what she wants. Once she sets her mind to something, it's obvious that she has clear intentions on doing it."

Patrone doesn't believe she sacrificed giving up the traditional high school experience. "I honestly feel like this is a better opportunity for a lot of people my age," Patrone said. “I had so many opportunities through this program. I gained some much-needed experience in networking and it molded me into the person I am today.”

"She gave up a lot of her high school experience because that was important to her," Eisnaugle Bika added. "She mapped out her courses. She would take some courses online in the summer, the fall, and in the spring semesters."

Patrone hopes to be an influence to other teens, letting them know the possibilities offered through the CCP program.

"This program is so overlooked and not a lot of people know or talk about it," Patrone said. "I want to get it out there for not just kids my age but for other people out there who could take advantage of it."

"Because of Bianca's influence, we have younger students interested in our CCP program," Eisnaugle Bika added. "It's a great thing but it's something we often caution against. You never want a student to put themselves over their head. My biggest concern is a student doing this and then not being able to do well and then maybe feeling like college isn't for them or setting themselves up with a low GPA. Those are all things Bianca knew coming in and she took on those risks with confidence."

With a Bachelor's in Business Administration now under her belt, the 17-year-old has real-estate opportunities in London or California she could dive into next.

Patrone's dream is to open an international real estate company. She formally receives her Bachelor's this Sunday, May 5 at YSU. She will receive her high school diploma from Poland Seminary High School on May 25.

“I wanted to build a story and create something memorable for other people like me, who just want a different approach to education," Patrone concluded.

Patrone's younger brother is on the same track, also planning to earn a bachelor's through YSU's CCP program before graduating high school.

Good day fellow Nairalanders....
I wish to appeal to you to assist in making a better choice for a fellow Nairalander who wishes to do his master's degree.
This guy graduated with a good grade in Physics (Ed).
He can do the PGD in any university as that is the general prerequisite courses before he could register for MSc programs.
He wishes to know what area you may suggest for him.
Though he has in mind Quantum Physics or Computer Programming.
Between the two, which is better for him to go for and which has more opportunities for him.
Thanks

The Director of Corps Welfare & Health Services, Mr. Ayodele Folorunso Benjamin Omotade, has admonished Corps Members on the need to be masters of their lives by controlling what engages their attention and energies. He also urged them to be law-abiding citizens by conducting themselves within the ambits of the law during the one year national service and beyond. He reminded them on the need to render committed and patriotic service, saying, “the embodiment of your personality and success achieved in life will not be measured in the quantum of material resource gathered but in the number of lives touched by your services”.

He gave this admonition on Tuesday 30th April, 2024 while addressing the 2024 Batch 'A' Stream II Corps Members deployed to Edo State at Multi - Purpose Hall of the NYSC Edo State Permanent Orientation Camp, Okada.

To achieve this and avoid consequences therefrom, he advised that they should be conversant with the tenets of the NYSC Scheme as well as guage their activities with the provisions of the NYSC Bye-Law, the NYSC Act and all other periodic instructions that would be handed out to them from time to time by the authorities.

Speaking further, he charged them to be security conscious at all times. “In this direction, there is the need for you to complement efforts of the NYSC Management by not engaging in activities that may endanger and expose your lives to risks. I must disabuse your minds from falling into temptation of embarking on unnecessary journeys, participation in clandestine activities and many other vices that plague our contemporary society “

Mr. Omotade, urged them to use their hands to create wealth by participating fully and actively in all the programmes, of the orientation course, especially the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development ( SAED ) training. He said, “it will be a shame that after the service year, you will go back home to be liabilities to your parents who have made enormous sacrifices to provide you quality education and armed you with reliable means of survival”.

Furthermore, he charged them on cultivating meaningful and rewarding relationships in line with time-tested objectives of the NYSC of promoting national unity and national integration.

Speaking further, he advised them to explore areas of felt needs in host communities and through constructive mobilization and engagements, seek to better their host communities than they met them. This he said, towing this line of action could earn them a reward at the end of service year and thereby pave the way for better and brighter opportunities in life.

He warned them against being slothful about their health care needs while encouraging them to always seek proper medical attention. “You are so exceptional because government has paid for your health care needs under the NYSC-NHIA GIFSHIP-n initiative which guarantees free medical treatment for all corps members nationwide “, he said.

Earlier in her situation report to visiting Director, the State Coordinator, Mrs Ifeoma Ben-Ushie, said the corps members have been of good conduct and that all camp officials have been working in harmony with others in the camp community. She also reported that the State Government have been supportive of their activities and programmes since the commencement of camp.

Politics / Insecurity: Benue State To Launch Security Outfit Before May Ending. by Oyikoha(m): 6:28pm On May 01
BENUE STATE TO LAUNCH OWN SECURITY OUTFIT BEFORE MAY ENDING

…AS BENUE APC STAKEHOLDERS PASS VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON GOV. ALIA

Wednesday, May 1st, 2024

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has said the state government will launch its own local security outfit that will consist of ten thousand youths before the end of May, 2024, to complement the efforts of the other security agencies in tackling security challenges bedeviling the state.

Governor Alia stated this on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024, during the Stakeholders Meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at Government House, Makurdi.

The Governor who appreciated the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the security agencies in securing the country and the state, said the launch of the State owned security outfit will aid in securing Benue communities, enabling farmers to access their farm lands without fear.

He said his administration is already working towards procuring Hilux vans and motorcycles that will be used by the security outfit to access the nooks and crannies of the state.

On the reason for the stakeholders meeting, the Governor said it became necessary to enable him brief the members of the party on the plans the government has in place to arrest the security challenge, adding that the government had written to the Commissioner of Police, intimating him of the necessity and urgency of the meeting, saying the commissioner gave the go ahead for the meeting before it was convened, especially as the ban on political gatherings is still in force in the state.

He informed the stakeholders that some enemies of the state had gone to invite unknown gunmen to come into Benue and destabilize its peace, but that the government has been able to push the invaders back to where they came from, and will continue to do so until they are all gone, to enable the farmers return to farm to ensure food security for the state.

He explained however, that some local government areas such as Kwande, Ukum, Logo, Gwer East, Gwer West, Guma, Apa, Agatu, are still affected by the attacks, but that the state government will not rest on its oars until the state becomes much safer.

Speaking on some of his achievements in office, the governor said his administration has made tremendous efforts in almost all the sectors, including the construction of rural and urban roads, assuring that he will do more to make Benue a greater state.

He said, even though the government has made a lot of impact in the Health sector, with the recruitment of over 400 Specialists and non Specialists Staff at the Benue State university Teaching Hospital, it still intends to revamp both the primary and secondary healthcare systems across the state, adding that the School of Nursing will also be re-opened, with the government paying half of the tuition fees for students of Benue indigenes who will be returning back there to study.

He also intimated of his administration’s plan to reintroduce scholarship award to students of the state, encourage skills acquisition programmes for the youths as well as to encourage the study of science related courses.

While appreciating the federal government for the award of the Overpass at Wurukum roundabout, the governor said over 50 other road networks have also been awarded by the state government across the state, and are to be completed within 12 months.

He said although some people are not happy that his administration is doing things differently from the past, he will continue to ensure the right thing is done for the overall good of the state.

He appreciated the stakeholders and the entire leadership of the party for always supporting his administration, calling on the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) to fast track the process for the conduct of the local government elections in the state.

He insisted that the party in the state remains united under the leadership of the acting state chairman, Hon. Benjamin Omakolo, and is on the right track to develop Benue, warning those trying to destabilize the state with divisive comments to stay clear as he will not allow anyone to destabilize the government, including those who served the state in the past.

Earlier in his welcome address, the acting State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue, Hon. Benjamin Omakolo, appreciated the governor for his continued support and leadership to both the party and the state, insisting that there is no disunity in the party under his watch, assuring that he will continue to promote unity, fairness and collaboration with party faithful and stakeholders ahead of the local government elections in the state.

In their separate remarks, Senator Barnabas Gemade, responding on behalf of Zone A elders and stakeholders, Hon. Hinga Biem for Zone B, Hon. Nelson Alapa for Zone C, Scholastica Ben Sough for the Women, Adah Nath for the youths, Hon. Philip Achua for Benue state ALGON as well as Hon. Saater Tiseer for the Members of the Benue State House of Assembly, in appreciating the governor for his developmental strides in the state, passed a vote of confidence on him, urging him to continue to do his best for the overall interest of Benue and it's people.

In his Vote of thanks, the Deputy Governor, Barr Sam Ode, also said he is solidly behind the governor, insisting that even if there is any impeachment attempt, he will not avail himself to be used to succeed the governor.

He assured the people of Zone C that the administration of Governor Alia has a lot of good plans for the zone, urging them and the entire people of the state to continue to support the government for more development.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State.

Education / 2024 Jamb Failure Is Collective by Jimsonjaat86: 3:44pm On May 01
By Taofik Adekunle Jimoh (JAAT)

Ten years ago, I lost 70 marks in JAMB (230 out of 300), and it took the consolation of my brother Okeola Abass Abayomi for me to recuperate emotionally. He said nobody would have blamed me had I failed, as my mother had just died a few days before my exams. Who knows, I might have scored 299 like Onomejoh Princewill, the 2014 highest scorer.

Fast forward to 2024, the JAMB result statistics released are not only saddening but also call for serious concerns. And I also call it a seed sown decades ago which has begun to germinate.

Today, Nigeria has two generations (Gen Z and Gen Alpha) who don't see much good about education, and they don't see any reason why they should study hard because they don't want to "stress themselves." I speak from my knowledge of these generations (Gen Z and Gen Alpha); if you give them assignments, you will need to beg them to do it and explain how it will contribute to their GPA.

Some will even come back to tell you that the assignments you gave them are stressful, hence, they can't do them.

Giving them days' notice for tests, assignments, and exams doesn't mean they will come to school on the D-day. "I'm sick" and "I'm busy" are the most constant excuses I hear from them, and there's nothing to do. I always wonder, busy doing what exactly?

These are generations that are led to believe that everything is about money, and as long as you have it, through straight or curved means, you are good to go. It is a common scene to see secondary school students in public schools buying phones, clothes, and other stuff worth hundreds of dollars and thousands (if not millions) of Naira, and society appears unconcerned. This is a society that shames hardworking individuals and glorifies fraud and shortcuts. These teens are exposed to internet money and quick money-making systems, and there's no turning back, just like a domesticated lion tasting blood for the first time.

When discussing this earlier today, my Brother Saheed Olayinka-Olaiya Shittu said, "Do they have to (study)? How long does it take for those who choose integrity and hard work to succeed compared to how long it takes a TikTok dancer, political thugs and sycophants, Yahoo runners, drug peddlers, treasury looters, etc to succeed?

"Of all the above, the TikTok dancer has the most honest job; it hardly adds anything to people's lives, but they would rather watch hours of dance than minutes of learning."

This society is not encouraging hard work and talents if the two are not producing money quickly. People with the best university certificates are seen roaming the streets hunting for jobs every blessed day, so how would that motivate their family, especially younger brothers or sisters, that education is the key?

Some brilliant and talented graduates have been forced to take up alternatives for survival. Well, it is said, "to say you are from me is better than everything on your CV."

I know a colleague who resigned from his lecturing job because the highly exalted job has now been subjected to ridicule.

Despite going to work every day, the management said they will be paying them every semester (3 months), and it will also depend on the number of courses they were taking. Imagine going to work every day and being paid 30k after three months because you took three courses throughout the semester? I know two tertiary institutions that adopt this payment system.

People will be looking at you from the outside and say, "he's a big man. A lecturer at so and so," but in all honesty, you earn 40 - 50k in 3 months. Everyone knows salary earners clear their debts at the end of the month. How would you explain "at the end of the semester (3 months)" to those you owe?! On top of 50k!

By Olaniyi Apanpa

On Monday, Liberian President, Joseph Boakai, appointed Major General Charles Johnson (retd.), as the Director of the National Security Agency, pending confirmation by the Liberian Senate

His appointment is coming months after his resignation as Minister of National Defence.

Before that, he led the Armed Forces of Liberia as its Chief of Staff for six years.

Though born in Monrovia, checks on his military background showed that he completed one of his officers’ courses at the Nigeria Army School of Infantry in Jaji, Kaduna State.

He is also an alumna of the United States Army Command and General Staff College.

After completing his officer candidate School in 2007, he was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant. In the AFL, he also served as Military Assistant to former Minister of National Defence, Brownie J. Samukai Jr.

In 2014, Former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf promoted Johnson to Brigade Commander of the 23rd Infantry Brigade, becoming the first Liberian to hold the post of Brigade Commander in the AFL following the end of the Liberian Civil War.

Education / If You Have Less Than 200 UTME Score In 2024 JAMB, Here's What To Do by Adenugay(m): 12:54pm On Apr 30
Having Less than 200 UTME score and you still want to gain admission into univeristy is still possible, even though you will be competing with 1.4 million of same score range.

To be able to gain admission with less than 200 UTME score, you can decide to wait for the university of your choice to release their cut off mark.

Though most universities now have increased their JAMB score for most competitive courses to above 200 score.

In a nutshell, if you are a parent, you can continue to wait for the university to release their cut off mark.

You can also decide to register them for A"level ( any one year program your ward can register for to gain admission into university without having to write JAMB)

Alevel programs are like IJMB, JUPEB, Cambridge A'level.

Another option is to let them study abroad, Abroad is not all about UK, US, or Europe, they can study in Ghana, Benin, Kenya, Cameroon, and Cameroon and look for low cost institutions over there.

You can find more information on IJMB at https://ijmb.com.ng

For JUPEB, you can get even further information at https://ijmb.com.ng/jupeb-programme/

Education / Atswa…….the Fastest Route To Become A Chartered Accountant In Nigeria by starryadmin: 12:30pm On Apr 30
Do you know that you can start your accounting career

immediately after you finished Secondary School?

But most commercial department students of secondary schools are not aware of this, according to a recent survey

If you start ATS after secondary school, you would have

become a Chartered Accountant before you graduate from the university.

This is how it works; After your SSCE, in a year, you will finish ATS 1 the first diet and ATS 2 the second diet because in a year there are two ATS diets. The next year, you will finish ATS 3.

While in the university, since you have ATSWA certificate, you will start ICAN from Skill Level because you will be given exemption for Foundation Level and one paper in Skill Level(Audit and Assurance), it means you will not write any paper in Foundation Level and one paper in Skill Level which is Audit and Assurance.

So in your year 1 in the university, you can write ICAN Skill Level and in year 2 you can write Professional level.

You may ask, but how will I combine all the ATS courses with

my school studies? The answer is simple, what you will be learning in the university is almost equivalent to ICAN courses, if you are studying accounting, but if you are studying other courses, the truth is your brain is still fresh while you are still in school and it can accommodate as much as you allow, so no shaking.

This means by the time you graduate from the university,

you would have become a Chartered Accountant.

This will give you an advantage as a young graduated, in fact it is easy for companies like PWC, Adekola Deloitte, KPMG, Accenture Inc and other top accounting firms to employ you.

Isn’t that enough reason for you, your child or anyone you know to start their accounting career journey immediately after secondary school?

Don’t just read please share with others

P.S : Information is power only if you can take action with it.

Then, and only then, does it represent knowledge and, consequently, power……. Daniel Burrus

Education / Age Limit For Varsity Admissions Backward - Punch Editorial Board by FreeStuffsNG: 8:05pm On Apr 27
Age limit for varsity admissions backward

WHILE the Nigerian tertiary education landscape is plagued with problems that demand urgent attention, the Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman, seems interested in exploring a controversial policy. During his tour of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination centres, Mamman said that the Federal Government is considering the adoption of 18 years as the entry age for admission into universities and other tertiary institutions. This is a backward proposal; it should be consigned to the dustbin.

Mamman’s grounds for this retrogressive proposal are that younger students are responsible for some of the challenges within the system. He suggests that they are not mature, unsuitable, and unable to manage their affairs.

He argues that some of these younger students are meant to remain in the controlled spaces of their parents rather than in the vibrant university environment. These arguments are fallacious.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities lends its support to the age benchmark. The President of ASUU, Emmanuel Osodeke, describes it as a welcome development and wants regulators to implement existing laws to enforce the age limit. This is overregulation. The position contradicts ASUU’s consistent activism for university autonomy as the age benchmark should be firmly within the purview of each university.

There is no guarantee that the policy will succeed. In Nigeria, parents will devise unwholesome means to circumvent it, as they are doing with the age policy to enter Federal Government Colleges.

The proposed policy can exclude younger, brilliant, and self-motivated students from admission into the universities of their choice.

In a digitalised world, the policy would drag Nigeria backward. Universities compete for the best in their admissions process. At inception, the Obafemi Awolowo university, in its wisdom, prescribed no age limit. There is nothing wrong with this.

For his brilliant performance, Oluwafemi Ositade, 17, a student at a secondary school in Ota, Ogun State, has just earned a Harvard university and 17 other Ivy League scholarships in the United States, Canada, and Qatar, amounting to $3.5 million. If the policy is implemented, that means Ositade would miss the golden chance. This is not logical.

One of the ills bedevilling tertiary education in Nigeria is the lack of autonomy. It is part of Nigeria’s flawed federalism in which the centre controls the affairs of the federating units in a master-servant relationship. Consequently, the Federal Government and the National Universities Commission render the authorities of universities redundant. This is ridiculous.

Therefore, rather than micro-managing tertiary institutions, the Federal Government should allow individual universities to determine the minimum age limit of their students.

In the United Kingdom, each university oversees its admissions. Swansea, Southampton, and Cardiff universities admit at age 16; Kent pegs it at 17 years. While the Open university admits at 16 years or lower, Cambridge prescribes an age of 18 for some courses, including medicine. Therefore, Mamman should face the real problems affecting education in Nigeria, especially the 20.2 million out-of-school children figure.

The tertiary institutions are bogged by shabby infrastructure and poor funding; in a dynamic world, their curricula are obsolete. There is a lecturer shortfall.

Nigeria’s universities rank low globally. In the 2023 Webometric ranking, the university of Ibadan, which ranked first in Nigeria, is 14th in sub-Saharan Africa, 21st in Africa, and 1,138th in the world. Cairo university (521) and the university of Cape Town (237) fare better on the impact, openness, and excellence criteria.

Despite the prevalence of incessant strikes and university closures, younger graduates have ample leverage in the labour market.

The Federal Government should look within. It creates problems by establishing more universities when it cannot adequately fund the existing ones. With better funding, the institutions will thrive. This deserves priority.

So, the age limit requirement is a chasing after the shadows, it must be dropped.

Politics / Prof Nnamchi Changing The Narrative Of Representation In National Assembly* . by ComradeNap: 4:55pm On Apr 26
By John Agbo, (John Lead)

In the annals of representation in Enugu East/Isi Uzo Federal Constituency in particular and the whole of Enugu State in general, nobody has given the state a national visibility in the past 20 years up to one tenth of what Prof. Paul Sunday Nnamchi has done in less than one year of his inauguration as a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing the good people of Enugu East/Isi Uzo Federal Constituency.

There is no house session that held without the erudite Professor making news both in notable national news media and in social media. It is now as if the entire membership of the lower chamber of National Assembly only sit to listen to Prof. Sunday Nnamchi. He has presented bills upon bills all geared towards the welfare of his constituency, his state and the country in general.

The people that sent this university of Nigeria Professor to the National Assembly have done alot of favour to Enugu State and Nigeria at large. Imagine what the tenth Assembly would have been without the likes of Prof Nnamchi. It is therefore not surprising that institutions are falling upon themselves to have this ebullient Rep member identified with them.

We the people of Enugu East/Isi Uzo Federal Constituency are as usual and as always uplifted by the news that our own Prof. Paul Sunday Nnamchi was the choice of the Nigeria security top brass comprising of people from the rank of Directors of DSS, National Intelligence Agency NIA, Defence Intelligence Agency DIA, and other high military officers at the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) Abuja on Wednesday the 23rd April 2024 as the guest lecturer during their their Strategic courses.

We therefore congratulate our man for proving to be a National asset and our people for discovering such a hidden treasure during the 2023 general election.

Education / Exploring The Details Of BALLB Course: A Comprehensive Guide by Jitendra123: 11:49am On Apr 24
The Bachelor of Arts Bachelor of Law (BALLB) course is a unique blend of subjects from the humanities and law, designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of legal principles alongside a broad educational background. This interdisciplinary program is gaining popularity among students who aspire to pursue a career in law while also exploring subjects in the liberal arts.

Course Structure:

The BALLB course typically spans five years and is divided into ten semesters. The curriculum is structured to provide students with a strong foundation in both legal studies and liberal arts. Here's an overview of the typical course structure:

Foundation courses: In the initial semesters, students are introduced to foundational subjects in law such as Constitutional Law, Legal Methods, and Legal History. They also delve into subjects from the arts stream like Political Science, Economics, and Sociology.
Core Law Subjects: As students progress through the program, they study core law subjects including Contract Law, Criminal Law, Tort Law, Administrative Law, and International Law. These subjects lay the groundwork for understanding the legal system and its various aspects.
Electives: In later semesters, students have the opportunity to choose elective courses based on their interests and career goals. These electives may include specialized areas of law such as Intellectual Property Law, Environmental Law, Human Rights Law, or Corporate Law.
Internships and Practical Training: Many BALLB programs incorporate internships and practical training opportunities to provide students with real-world experience. These internships can take place at law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies, or non-profit organizations, allowing students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a professional setting.
Moot Courts and Legal Clinics: Moot courts and legal clinics are often an integral part of the BALLB curriculum. These activities provide students with the opportunity to develop their advocacy and legal research skills by participating in simulated court proceedings and providing legal assistance to clients under the supervision of faculty members.
Seminar and Workshops: Throughout the course, students may participate in seminars, workshops, and guest lectures conducted by legal practitioners, scholars, and experts from various fields. These events expose students to current legal issues, emerging trends, and practical insights into the legal profession.
Admission Requirements:

Admission to the BALLB course is typically based on entrance exams conducted at the national, state, or university level. Eligibility criteria may vary depending on the institution, but generally include:

Completion of higher secondary education (12th grade) with a minimum aggregate score.
Qualifying the entrance exam, which may test students' aptitude in subjects like English, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, and Legal Aptitude.
Some institutions may also conduct personal interviews or group discussions as part of the admission process.
Career Opportunities:

Graduates of the BALLB course have a wide range of career opportunities available to them. Some of the common career paths include:

Legal Practice: Many graduates choose to practice law as advocates, solicitors, or legal advisors. They may work in law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies, or start their own private practice.
Judiciary Services: Some graduates opt to pursue careers in the judiciary by appearing for competitive exams conducted by judicial services commissions. Successful candidates may serve as judges in lower courts, district courts, or higher judicial bodies.
Corporate Sector: Graduates with a BALLB degree are in demand in the corporate sector, where they can work as legal consultants, compliance officers, or in-house counsel for companies and multinational corporations.
Public Policy and Administration: The interdisciplinary nature of the BALLB course equips graduates with skills that are valuable in fields such as public policy, administration, and governance. They may work in government agencies, non-profit organizations, or international institutions.
Legal Research and Academia: Some graduates choose to pursue further studies and academic research in law, leading to careers in teaching, legal research, and academia.
Conclusion:

The Bachelor of Arts Bachelor of Law (BALLB) course offers a unique educational experience that combines the study of law with subjects from the liberal arts. By providing students with a comprehensive understanding of legal principles, critical thinking skills, and a broad educational background, the course prepares them for diverse career opportunities in the legal profession and beyond. If you're passionate about law and interested in exploring interdisciplinary subjects, the BALLB course may be the perfect choice for you.

Education / Schools Peter Obi Built & Over 100 Schools He Renovated & Upgraded As Governor by Gossipninja: 9:24am On Apr 24
Normally, I don't do this, but when a lie is said overtime, it tends to turn truth.

What Reno Omokri is doing now, was the same format that was used to assassinate the character of his former boss, Ex. President Goodluck Jonathan.

Reno that is now forming savvy and table shaker was a social media aide to Jonathan, yet newbies like Tolu Ogunlesi, Omojuwa, Bashir Ahmed used lies and propaganda to pursue a better President than all that their party APC has given us. Reno folded his arms and boys ran him over.

Well, I don't have the time to continue to discuss Reno, because he's a rabble rouser and his kind deserve just total ignoring, just as Peter Obi is doing to him already.

Sticking to the main purpose of this post, I will be listing out some of the strides Peter Obi made in the education system as Anambra state governor, with a good number of schools that he built, renovated and upgraded.

While Reno is having orgasm over just 4 Millennium schools that are currently dilapidated that Tinubu built, checkout this link to see the state of the so called school..

I will be listing over 100 schools that Obi brought life into in Anambra state and these schools are still doing wonders for the state and country at large. Atleast we all can see some of the achievements of Anambra school children both locally and internationally.

First on my list is Anambra state university Igbariam Campus.

Yes, Anambra state university have been in existence since the year 2000. But it had only one campus in Uli, Anambra state and originally, it was Anambra State university of Science and Technology.

Read through the schools website to confirm yourself.
https://coou.edu.ng/our-history/

Currently, Anambra State university which is now Chukwuemeka Odimekwu Ojukwu university has three campuses.

*Anambra State university, Uli
*Anambra State university, Igbariam
*Anambra State university, Awka.

Due to the nature and location of the Uli campus, which was situated on a site for Ekwenugo Okeke Polytechnic, HE. Peter Obi led administration in 2006, began the construction of the second campus which is located at Igbariam in the former site of the College of Agriculture.

The law establishing the university phased out the State Polytechnic and the university inherited its assets and liabilities.

On the other hand, the university law failed to repeal the Edict establishing the College of Agriculture, Igbariam, hence, legally, the university and the College existed side by side at the Igbariam Campus site, until 2006 (Obi's Administration) when the government relocated the College of Agriculture to Mgbakwu, about fifteen kilometers away from Igbariam.

By the Anambra State university Amendment Law No. ANHA/LAW/2006/01 of 26th January, 2006 (Obi's Administration), the name of the university was changed to Anambra State university

In 2010 (Obi's Administration), the Amaku General Hospital, Awka, was converted to College of Medicine and Teaching Hospital after it received legal backing as the state House of Assembly passed an amendment act to situate a third campus in Awka.

If you go to the school's website,.... You will see all the history of the school.

https://coou.edu.ng/our-history/

How the Anambra State House Assembly under Peter Obi legislated the new Igbariam campus and this particular campus was built from scratch and was Commissioned by Peter Obi. Faculty of Law, Management courses were amongst the buildings.

Let us take Abia State university for instance.

The main school campus which is in Uturu was built by Dee Sam Mbakwe.

The the Medical school and Teaching hospital in Aba was built by Orji Uzor Kalu, and the new School of Law in Umuahia was built by Theodore Orji.

Please reasonable Nigerians, for the fact that the school was built by Mbakwe, will you now throw away the works of the two other governors or say they didn't build any school?

In Business we call it Subsidiary,

In Health we call it Annex,

In Banking we call it branch.

Then in Education, we call it Campus.

For the fact that a bank has its headquarters in Abuja, doesn't mean their branch in Lagos wasn't built from scratch or mean the branch is not a new building.

Same thing applies in business. For the fact that Dangote has already made name and amassed wealth from his age long Cement business, doesn't mean his Refinery isn't a new idea initiated, built by him. Since the Igbariam Campus built by Obi isn't new enough, maybe Dangote should have given his Refinery a new name or Federal Medical Center, Akure be given a new name from Federal Medical Center, Owo.

First picture is entrance gate of Anambra State university, Uli. I added it, so that you can see that the two campuses are different.

Remaining pictures are for Anambra State university, Igbariam built from scratch by Peter Obi attached below.

Education / Atswa…….the Fastest Route To Become A Chartered Accountant In Nigeria by starryadmin: 12:39pm On Apr 23
Do you know that you can start your accounting career

immediately after you finished Secondary School?

But most commercial department students of secondary schools are not aware of this, according to a recent survey

If you start ATS after secondary school, you would have

become a Chartered Accountant before you graduate from the university.

This is how it works;

After your SSCE, in a year, you will finish ATS 1 the first diet and

ATS 2 the second diet because in a year there are two ATS diets.

Isn’t that enough reason for you, your child or anyone you know to start their

accounting career journey immediately after secondary school?

Don’t just read please share with others

P.S : Information is power only if you can take action with it.

Then, and only then, does it represent knowledge and, consequently, power……. Daniel Burrus
