Hello doctors, I Just passed out from NYSC last month and patching with a private hospital. I just got a hint of a vacancy for post NYSC doctor who wants to do MSC in any of the pre clinical courses and with full employment included to lecture at a state university. Though I have not tot much about teaching line. I want to know what you guys think about doctors entering into the academic field, Especially the advantage of a medical doctor being a lecturer

It's not worth it, I'm writing from experience. If you can find another clinical job, better for you, unless you want to combine lecturing with private practice. Being a full time lecturer in Nigeria is a No No.

Please Help!
I tried to book an appointment with TLS today, assisted service. There was a little network issue when I tried to pay, but it later went through and showed 'transaction successful', debited me, N11700. When I went back to the home page, I saw 2 red lines with something like processing error or so, but it later went out.
I'm worried because I've not gotten any Confirmation email from them, and when I click on 'my application', the options there are: amend booking, appointment date not set yet, etc.
I've tried to send mail to them through their contact us page, but no reply yet.
Is it the weekend or is there really a problem?
Please how can I contact them? I am already making plans to travel on Tuesday against the Wednesday appointment. What should I do?

@justwise and other gurus please help!

Yes

please, am sorry am still on this. Apart from the Sponsor's letter and Bank statement you collected from your Pastor, did you present any other document from your church?

Also, the explanation in the consent letter you talked about, was it about the church's source of fund and how they spend their money?
Thank you

Details about the bank statement was explained in the letter of consent

By letter of consent, do you mean the sponsorship letter given to you by your Pastor?

For your sponsor's bank statement especially the church sponsor, was there any need to explain any deposits made to it?

Not for a church activity?? But for a person’s exams.. hmmm.. the hurdle might be to convince the ECO of what benefit the exam is to the Church that they would fully sponsor an exam for you... you can try
Your question about bank statement.. ofcourse if there are irregularities that you know and that u feel could damage your application, you should wait and not rush to apply
Thank you

Please House, Can a Church be a full sponsor for one of their workers for an exam in the UK?

If yes, What documents are needed from the Church?

Also, will the applicants bank statement be a problem if there are some irregularities in the account and how many months bank statement does the applicant need to submit?

Flight reservation is just to show the ECO an idea of the price. Reservations last between 24 to 48 hours, it doesn’t matter.. all you need is to submit it notwithstanding ’valid’ date
You can get on travelstart.ng, wakanow, egypt air, turkish airlines etc for free
They will email to u.. simply attach to your application.

Thank you for your response.
Please, what of the 2nd part of the question?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Sebij: 2:18pm On Jan 27, 2020
Please this question has been asked here before, but I don't think any answer was given.

How can I get a flight reservation? will I pay for it? for how long is it valid?

Also, will going to Abuja for biometrcs produce exactly the same result as going to Lagos?

Ok you really need to explain that in your application. Yes your mum can contribute but avoid transferring money into your salary account that is not your salary.
thank you @Justwise

@Sebij you don’t need to worry about the change of name and newspaper publications... gather most importantly the marriage certificate, wedding pictures and nuclear family photographs plus other documentation you are presenting.

U don’t need IELTS to be valid on the day of your plab2 exam.... You only need it after a successful plab 2 examination, that is at the time for GMC registration and licence... so if the IELTS validity expires by the time you are ready for gmc registration, regrettably u will have to take another one. Sorry

Thank you @giselle237
if I wait for a 6months bank statement, it will definitely expire by the time am ready for GMC registration
am really worried

Yes you will have a problem with that, so avoid it. Far better to include your mums bank statement than transferring money into your account.

Is this exam relating to your current job?

No, it's not. am a medical doctor lecturing in a university. I want to go for PLAB 2 exam. And the thing is that my IELTS result, which I'll need later, will soon expire, that is why it's as if am in a haste.

My mum is already maintaining a clean account, she started this month anyway, but she said the much she can go is 3 months

You can give an explanation in your cover letter.

If not in a rush, build the account for 6 months to show how stable you are financially. 4 months might not be enough but then again nothing is impossible

Thank you so much. I really appreciate

First time applicants are always advised to submit minimum 6 months bank statement

Best if she sends the money to your account

Submit all evidence of change of name and address it clearly in the your cover letter

Thank you for the reply.
if she sends the money to my account, hope it won't be mistaken for an 'unexplained lump deposit'?
There have been some irregular transactions in my acct in the past 3 months, that was why I was looking at doing 3 instead of 6, with a sponsor. do you think I stand a chance if I make it up to 4?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Sebij: 1:24pm On Jan 09, 2020
Hello house. I wish to appreciate the elders on this forum for the good work they are doing. Please I need your advice.
I plan to apply for a standard visitor's visa for an exam in the UK, as a first timer. I am planning a 3days journey and the exam is in may. I am married with 3 kids, the last one is 8months old now and I don't plan going with him.
I work with a federal government agency and earn 125k monthly, ME: 50k, DI: 75k
My mum has offered to take care of my flight and 3days accommodation cost, which is approximately 300k. She also works in a fed institution and earns 315k monthly.
My budget for the trip is about 360k, I'll take care of the remaining 60k ie my feeding, transport and miscellaneous.
can I present 3 months bank statement (with opening bal of 382k and closing bal of 607k) as am using a co-sponsor whose bank statement is also 3 months with about 900k+ at the end of the 3 months?
will it be better to ask her to transfer the 300k to my account and save her the stress of presenting a bank statement? this will be explained in the cover letter with the proof of transfer
Also, I did change of name twice: the 1st was from my maiden name to my husband's family name, which is the name on our marriage cert; the 2nd was from the family name (which we didn't like) to my father-in-law's name. I have newspaper publication for only the 2nd change of name but I have court affidavits for both name changes. Will this be an issue?
Are there any adjustments I need to make concerning the finances and the application in general?
Thank you for your help
