Teenager Arrested for Ilorin Arson and Theft, NIGERIA SECURITY reports. A shocking incident unfolded in Ilorin, Kwara State, yesterday, when 18-year-old Olawumi Ayomide was apprehended for setting a house ablaze after stealing valuable items with his gang. The Kwara Fire Service spokesperson, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, confirmed the incident occurred on September 25, 2024, at 12:11 hours.
The Drama Unfolds
The Kwara State Fire Service swiftly responded to a fire outbreak at No. 59, Afenifere Community, Onireke, Gaa-Akanbi area, Ilorin, and found a three-bedroom bungalow engulfed in flames. Despite extinguishing the fire within 25 minutes, two rooms were completely ravaged, destroying items like mattresses, valuable documents, a plasma TV, and clothing.

Bauchi Police Arrest Three Suspected Armed Robbers, SECURITY NIGERIA reports.
In a significant crackdown on crime, the Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended three members of an armed robbery gang that has been terrorizing the Misau Local Government Area. The suspects, identified as Ahmad Musa (alias Abba Yausa, 20), Tijjani Abdullahi (alias T.J, 20), and Danladi Aliyu (aka Uban Daba, 30), were arrested for alleged criminal conspiracy, housebreaking, and armed robbery.
According to SP Ahmed Muhammad Wakil, the command's spokesperson, the suspects unlawfully entered a residence in Misau LGA in July 2024, armed with locally made pistols and seven rounds of live ammunition. They made off with N250,000, three handheld phones, and an unspecified quantity of recharge cards from various networks.
The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) apprehended Ahmad Musa with a fabricated pistol and seven rounds of live ammunition. Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, has ordered a thorough investigation and prosecution of the suspects. The police are also working to apprehend the remaining fugitives, including Ismail Kawuwa, Sadiq Kange, Adamu Dan Kamfani, and Attahir.

Tragedy Strikes Mpape Town: Bandits Kill Imam, Abduct Transporter in Abuja Mosque Attack, Security Nigeria reports.
A brazen attack on a Tipper Garage mosque in Mpape town, Abuja, left one dead and another abducted on Sunday, September 22. The assault occurred around 8 p.m. as worshippers departed after evening prayers.
According to eyewitness Nasiru Ahmad, the bandits laid an ambush for Imam Ahmad Maidara as he attempted to flee through an alternate route. Maidara was fatally shot at the scene. Another garage member suffered hand injuries and received hospital treatment.
The assailants, reportedly using the nearby mountainous terrain for cover, escaped via the same route.
Comrade Hamza Muhammad, National President of the Nigeria Union of Mine Workers (NUMW), confirmed the incident. Maidara's body was transported to his Gwagwa town residence for burial the following day.
This incident raises concerns about escalating violence and insecurity in Abuja.
