Meerahbel: Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) in Nigeria offer a unique opportunity for individuals to invest in real estate without directly managing properties. REITs allow people to buy and sell shares in companies that own or finance real estate properties, providing a way to diversify investment portfolios and earn rental income without the hands-on work of being a landlord
Types of REITs in Nigeria:
- Equity REITs: Invest in and own properties, generating income from rents and property sales. - Mortgage REITs: Invest in and own property mortgages, generating income from interest on the mortgages. - Hybrid REITs: Combine elements of equity and mortgage REITs, investing in both properties and mortgages .
*Benefits of REITs in Nigeria:
- Liquidity: REIT shares can be easily bought and sold on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. - Diversification: REITs provide a way to invest in real estate without directly managing properties. - Stable Income: REITs can provide a regular stream of income through dividend payments.
Challenges Facing REITs in Nigeria:
- Lack of Public Awareness: Many Nigerians are not familiar with REITs and their benefits. - Difficulties in Processing Land Titles: The process of obtaining land titles in Nigeria can be slow and cumbersome. - Limited Regulatory Framework: The regulatory framework for REITs in Nigeria is still evolving and may not provide sufficient guidance or support.
Despite these challenges, REITs in Nigeria have the potential to provide attractive investment opportunities and contribute to the growth of the country's real estate sector. Please can we have a chat on WhatsApp? Will be glad |

Meerahbel: Thank you for your this question.
Risk=Rich Fear is what is holding many people from reaching the peak.
You can save by either living below your means. However savings CANNOT make you rich.
Let assume you just got a job, you can squat with friends or stay with parents and when you want to get your own apartment go for a single room not a self contained or if you lucky the jobs gives you accommodation (you are to left with only the expanse to feed yourself) With 60k, save 20% that's N20,000 a year would give you 240,000, that's if accommodation is provided but if no accommodation is unavailable you can do 5-10k per month, you can decide to buy a plot of land or invest in crypto, stocks market most especially foreign stocks (because earning in naira is no longer profitable), Treasury bill, or FG savings bonds (5000 to start by the way and you get interest quarterly) Your return can be used to pay monthly bill in the case of FG savings bonds school fees though or professional qualifications exams.
Invest FIRST, then SPEND the rest.
Everything is all about planing, the day you start taking actions and stop complaining or giving excuses you would see the difference.
Another cheat code to wealth is in Real Estate. For instance, a land I bought for 800,000 in 2015, today that land is worth more than 15 million naira, you can decide to sell and go but an acre some other place. When you buy the acre, you self a plot or two and go to another place buy an acre and RINSE & REPEAT.
I am invested in the following; 1. Crypto 2. Stocks market (both local and foreign) I use trove for foreign stocks, if you interested use the link on my profile to get started we both get free shares. 3. Real Estate 4. Nigerian Treasury Bills 5. FG savings bond 6. REITs (silent money spinner) 7. Remote jobs - By next year I will no longer do 9-5 anymore, I done with onsite jobs 8. My Spa business
No rich person depends on one source of income.
I hope this helps. Please I am interested and how does 4,5, and 6 works? Waiting |

DyshApp: A young Nigerian man shares his frustration over an awkward first date experience with a lady who ordered herself food, neglecting him.
In an anonymous post to popular X influencer @wizarab10, he recounted how the lady’s actions left him feeling overlooked.
The man revealed that the woman paid for her transportation and clothing expenses for the outing, which he appreciated. However, things took a surprising turn when she ordered food only for herself during the date.
“I went on a date with a girl, our very first date and she paid for her clothings and transport. When we got there, we spoke for over an hour and she was listening though. Then, she suddenly called the waiter and ordered meat pie and ice cream for herself and she was eating and listening to me. Isn’t that callous? She didn’t even ask me whether I’m hungry, she just ate, listened and replied me,” he wrote.
He concluded the post by asking followers for advice on whether he should continue pursuing the relationship, humorously adding, “Should I fling?”

Car Talk › Re: CNG Vehicle Explodes In Benin While Trying To Fill Up Gas(video) by seetomorrow: 11:20am On Oct 17, 2024 |
Rebuke: Gosh! Recently, I have been reading alot of terrifying stuffs about this CNG thing, especially converting a vehicle that was not originally built for it.
Some scary reasons it will not be ideal for anyone converting their cars to CNG in Nigeria:
1. Bad Roads: considering how bad our roads are, having a car loaded with cylinder filled with gas and running into potholes every now and then can be disastrous.
2. Hot weather: Sometimes, we experience unusual hot weather here in this part of the world. Most countries have good weather conditions than we do here. I think driving under a very hot weather can have some negative impact.
3. Unprofessional approach: we all know Nigerians and our funny ways of doing things, those converting vehicles can just wake up from the bad side of their bed one day and fix things wrongly that can lead yhu to yhur early grave.
Question: how many of our politicians are currently using CNG vehicles? Please do well to quote me with the name of such politician, if yhu know any.
My conclusion: personally, I would rather buy fuel at N1,300 per litre than using a car loaded with plenty filled cylinders with gas.
Don't offer me death as alternative to cheaper means of transportation.
Please note, this is my own personal view and conviction. I can not come and come and kill myself
No, I no gree abeg. Yes you sincerely made a point. But my question is, how come everyone just relax without talking about protest regards to this fuel price ? It's so scary 😱, does it mean this people used fodoo to silence the nation bcus I don't get it |

True. Just a few days ago, I was in a Sienna, and one of the passengers was going on and on about how T-pain means well for Nigeria, how the pain is necessary because of the reforms; you know, the usual nonsense they recycle from their WhatsApp groups.
So, I asked him, "Sir, what exactly is Tinubu's plan? What is Nigeria’s dream? What are we all working towards that, when we finally get there, we can say, 'Wow, the suffering was worth it'?"
I reminded him how they hyped Dangote's refinery, yet fuel prices still got worse. I asked him, "So, tell me, what exactly are we supposed to look forward to?"

omochelsea004: Nigerian lady fumes as she recounts how her brother-in-law, whom she entrusted with her laundry, washed everything but her pants.
She took to a platform to share this, while asking whether she is overreacting.
According to her, she was rushing out for work and didn’t have the time to get the laundry done, so she decided to delegate it to her brother-in-law who lives with them. She noted that she is older than him by two years, however.
The lady stated that when she got home, she found out that he had washed everything except her pants.
She is left with mixed emotions over this as she subtly considers this to be a disrespect.
Check out her words below …
“I’m living with my brother in law. I’m older with 2years. I’m 30 years. I woke up and rushing to work. I needed to cook for all. Hubby, his brother, my children and I. I already packed hubby and children food and hubby left with them. He will drop them at school and from there go to work. I was already running late and I already Slaked my clothes. Because I was already running late. I asked my bro in law to help me wash them. We have washing machine but it’s not all clothes that I wash there. I came back in the evening to find out he washed the clothes without washing the panties. Of a truth, I forgot panties were among. I wash my undies myself but is it not an insult that he washed the clothes without washing my panties. Why did he leave my pants in the bucket. I came back and washed though. I want to confront him and report to my husband but I don’t know if I’m overreacting.”
