PDP is quite powerful i must say. The main reason why groups like PDP can lose is when people like ojukwu or a main force steps in.

But who send you though? This is what I love about nairaland - people throwing irrelevant "opinions",  like who gives a fidduck?
People who reply to my posts like you grin, as i said chiogo carry dey go. As someone who lived all his life in Victoria Island and VGC, how do you think Enugu would look to me. Poo.h.o.l.e

anyways back to topic

Well, if your place no fine, you have no say. C'est fini.
Ok, I would shut up, about how enugu looks. I will not invest in it though.

Maybe you need to the waters. Time to taste your feelings in order to lead into an informed and exprienced mind. Or maybe you can ask Oba Adeyinka Oyekan of Lagos who lived in Umuahia
Una no dey hear word. I said invest- living in a place and succeeding financially in a place are two different things. Go and try and invest in china and see if invisible racial walls would not pop up because you were black. However, go and live there with your money and I am sure you would have the time of your life. Well a bit

You stomach is growling. You a mere undergraduate looking for scholarship/graduate assistantship to study further. You have no poo to invest. Keep quiet, even on cyber. Ibadan cannot by any stretch of imagination be compared to Enugu.
Sefago knows he has no dime to invest. He is still looking to lick Oyibo nyash for a non-tax-free graduate assistantship (GA). Wetin go remain for the peanut that they pay for GA for him to invest with? Poor boy, really.
Yeah thats true, believe what you want. It would be silly of me to talk much anyways. Its funny tho, because you won a scholarship for your graduate school and basically lived from hand to mouth as a result you expect other people do so grin grin, you dont know anything yet.

Even the apartment I live in (around 30,000+ dollars a year) is way more expensive than where 90% of Nigerians live, and higher than the income of a lot of americans not to talk of my parents grin. Or do you think my parents are even remotely middle-class, or poor like yours?

chiogo:
Look at this SEFAGO, where are you from again? Calling Enugu a shiit hole. Nonsense.

@topic, I dunno about these governors, the previous ones haven't been able to do anything.
Enugu is a s.h.i.thole period. Why will I want to invest in anything there? Do they have any company quoted in the Nigerian stock exchange? How many private equity funds are there? Any major stockbroking firms? Do they even have a cinema?

Or do you want me like your brothers to do spare parts trading grin, abeg chiogo carry comot. You are still young so you have a very limited world view. Asking me where I am from, even if I was born poor, dont I have the right to significant ambitions. So na spare part trading for enugu you want to wish me.

Shouldn't you think of trying to invest in your stomach first? How can you invest what you haven't got in the first place or am I am missing the meaning of investment?
To my knowledge most investment comes from surplus, not from what doesn't exist.
So u have not invested yet b4? LOL, my stomach is doing fine, way too fine. Why will I want to invest in the s.h.ithole called enugu. I would take my investments to mauritius, spain, and other places with good property prices and stability or at the worst lagos abd ibadan- places with international contacts

Even before Zik and Awo wahala Ojukwu's father and other Igbos were already owning properties in Lagos and the North. What stopped the Yoruba from doing so then?

Wish you could  put your mouth where your money is cos it seems you ve got a lot catch up to do cos most Igbos can attest to that. Go live , work and invest in other parts of Naija outside your enclave. Let's put one Naija in action if you truly believe in this your feel good message.
Maybe its because other cultures are less hospitable than the Yoruba? I have a feeling if I go and invest in enugu I will not be well received.

Monkey. You dot not know if Ojukwu is my father, uncle or kinsman. Why do you insult him? The quesion remains, why is Ojukwu described in a different way than the other rich Nigerians of then?
If Ojukwu is your father say it. No worries. If Hitler had children they would be here defending him too undecided

These mannerless omoibo that are all over Nairaland sad

You really do not have the right to personally insult someones father. And its even more stupid when you draw parallels between criticizing a leader and personally insulting someones relations. I know its part of igbo culture to be rude and mannerless, but at least do it amongst yourselves. Eziachi if you want go and slap mekusxyz's father no one is stopping you. However, know that some cultures revere there elders even when we simultaneously criticize them.

Ikemba ko Ikebe ni

mekuszyx:
And the same article says ''Ojukwu was perhaps, the wealthiest Nigerian of his generation: a multi-millionaire businessman''

What do you mean by low profile? Do you care to explain? Thanks.
I know they didn't teach you english in FUTO or Nsukka but biko, read well now.

mekuszyx:
Did anyone claim Ojukwu's father was the first African millionaire? If so, that will be preposterous since we do not know much about other Africans as of prior to the 1960s. As for me I have always read that he is the first in Nigeria. I like to restrict myself to Nigeria except where the data is clear for the whole AFrica. This is unlike Yoruba-run Yabatech that claimed to be the third oldest in Africa and 27th in the world grin grin
Read where? Did they go to his bank to verify this claim? Or was it Ojukwu's father who told people he was the first millionaire?

mekuszyx:
Sefago, Bluetooth, Roadstar, etc
Seriously, jokes aside, do you know of any Yoruba milionaire during the time that Ojukwu's father was making his money? Please educate us so we know. No harm in knowledge sharing. Thanks.
I dont make unsubstantiated claim. There might have been some i dont know. But case in point, Ojukwu's father might not have been a millionaire.

Like Odutola, Louis Ojukwu attained prominence as an astute businessman and one of the first millionaires the country produced
I have heard of odutola, but like ojukwu his claims are unsubstantiated. What one should say, is that they were one of the richest men in Nigeria during their time not the first yada yada

It quite true ,it is not properly documented but i read about it a few years back. i can't seem to find the exact article but let me show one of the recent pics i can find of those buildings :

No, its not true except it is documented. The problem is that this is quite common- nigerians of all ethnic groups claiming to be the first africans. Of all the countries in Africa, it is always the yoruba and the igbo claiming to be the first millionaire, the first doctor, the first lawyer, the first cab driver, the first 419 artist (Of course we chop that one), the first bicycle rider, the first African  owner of a TV- they are always claimed by Nigerians grin

What about Egypt, Ghana, Senegal and a host of other African cultures- na u dey all be the first.

mekuszyx:
Was Forbes already in existence before the 1960's when Ojukwu's father was not only the first millionaire in Nigeria but also the only one at that time?

Something on Ojukwu snr:

Louis Odumegwu Ojukwu
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
Sir Louis Odumegwu Ojukwu, OBE, (1909-1966) was a notable Nigerian businessman from Nnewi. Ojukwu was a director in various Nigerian companies and also won a parliamentary seat during the nation's first republic. He attended a primary school in Asaba and the Hope Waddell Institute for secondary education.

[edit] Life and career
Ojukwu started his professional career at the Agricultural department before leaving to join John Holt as a tyre sales clerk. He also incorporated a textile company in Onitsha to supplement his income during this period, already exhibiting a little bit of his entrepreneurial spirit. While at John Holt, he noticed the severe strain a lack of adequate transportation had on Eastern textile traders. He later left John Holt to create a transport company to improve the trading environment for Nigerian traders. As a transporter, he was a tireless worker and meticulous to detail; he was usually the first to inspect his transport vehicles for oil and leakages. Apart from his work ethic, his success was also oiled by the economic boom after World War II, working with the West African Railway Company and the newly inaugurated produce boards, he provided his fleet for commodity transportation and for other traders use. During the 1950s, he diversified his interest, bought some industries, invested heavily in the real estate sector and became a director in numerous major corporations. He was a member of the board of Nigerian Coal Corporation, Shell Oil, D'Archy, and African Continental Bank.

Ojukwu died in 1966, just a year before the Nigerian civil war. His son Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu was the leader of the secessionist state of Biafra.
^ Thats the point. How do you know Ojukwu's father was the first millionaire (In what currency-cowries grin)? Do you know what was happening in other places in Nigeria. No be by igbo  mouth we hear these lies grin

I don't give a be intimate with where you crawl out from, your advise is for Igbo to have a 35 year old leader, well choose a 35 year old leader for the Yorubas you claimed to be before prescribing it for us and from what I can see, Dimeji Bankole is not far from the age of 35 and he is not setting any fre on the mountain. Ojukwu is one of few people in that God forsaking country you cant point corruption toward him. His father was once richer than any African and he is a omfortbale man, while his peers become overnight billionaire farmers even though from poverty crippled families,
Tangible proof? Was he in forbes richest african list or punch richest african list grin, how do you know?

There is no history book that say's anything different from what I mentioned, except its a fairy tale. The truth is sad.

Mandingo's methods are crude, but the door was left open centuries ago and it's still open today.
True a bit. I do have reservations though. Mandingo is not a disenfranchised and ignorant African-American. He is a troll. Especially if he considers an American prison better than Nigeria

an american JAIL CELL is preferred to an upscale nigerian living.

Let's see what they get:

3 square meals
Clean living space
healthcare
work out facilities
Cable television
WORKING electricity.

yup, I'd rather be in an American jail cell than in a Nigerian slum.
