This fayose man won't cease to amaze me! A road that is yet to be completed, you're switching on the street lights! Like seriously? Fayose is a clown |
This is a lie from the pit of hell! A governor who's owning most workers in the state 3months salary, some 4months is granting car loans to the same workers? Like seriously? Fayose's lies know no bound, I'm a civil servant in the state and I'm saying it categorically that there's no car loan anywhere |
How did they carry out their study? I've spent over 20 years of my entire life time in ekiti and I'm proud to say this study does not in anyway represents the true picture here in the state. I cannot remember the last time I saw a house without toilet, yea most of the toilets are pit latrines especially in the small towns but that they don't toilets at all? nothing can be father from truth than this |
joeprince23:Really? How come he couldn't win his state in the 2015 election even with the federal might? Sometimes I wonder how you guys overate some of these politicians! |
mightyfada:Tell us about your roots My parents are from Otun Ekiti (in Ekiti State) but I was brought up in Abeokuta, Ogun State. I attended St. Peters College, Olomore and obtained an Ordinary National Diploma in business administration at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta. That's Odunlade Adekola himself telling us about his origin, this was culled from an interview he granted daily independent http://dailyindependentnig.com/2013/02/im-not-a-stereotype-odunlade-adekola/ |
Fiwasayo:Odunlade Adekola is from otun ekiti in ekiti state, his younger brother was my classmate in secondary school. Filani Mosun is from ikole ekiti, I once read an interview by her where she said it |
No matter how hard they try to defend sheriff, PDP has lost with this their decision. |
This is a very patriotic article, my allegiance is to my country not to any individual |
Before I address the essence of this piece, I will start by addressing the reaction. There are two main elements that are likely to ignore rationality when reading and commenting on this piece; the so called Wailing Wailers and the group of people who are still voting President Buhari despite the fact that he is already president. They are often both irrational groups who hold on to opposite sides of an issue mostly based on where they stood during the last polls. Of the two, the Wailing Wailers are of course the most disgraceful, colourfully shameless and with zilch credibility. The reason being that, everything they criticize today, they once cheered and supported. Their only anger with anything today is that Goodluck Jonathan is no longer president. For most of them, they would cheer the stealing of billions of dollars, defend same and even protest if you start the prosecution process of the suspects, all because they supported Goodluck Jonathan. They do not love Nigeria and even if they wail from now till 2090, those who know better will never take them seriously. The other group, those who are still voting President Buhari, are held back by the desperation not to be seen that they made a mistake at the polls. That is an unfortunate state to be in because of the two major options before Nigerians last year, Mohammadu Buhari was a no brainer. Goodluck Jonathan had supervised Nigeria’s longest oil boom, despite that, he left Nigeria with its lowest foreign reserve in a decade, less than 1000 MW of power supply, some 112 million poor souls, over 10 million school kids out of school, gargantuan corruption of which Nigeria would still be recovering the stolen funds 10 years from now. Buhari was the better candidate of the two and Nigerians rightly settled that argument. What Buhari does with that mandate does not make the Nigerians who voted him the wrong party. If doing the right thing eventually results in a bad thing happening, you do not regret doing the right thing. But Nigeria is bigger than the so called Wailing Wailers, Nigerians already proved that on March 28, 2015. End of. Nigeria is bigger than the Buharists too, Nigerians proved it three times before the 2015 elections. Buhari became president because non-Buharists voted him. Let this be clear before people get swept off by the wind and tide that swept Jonathan and his “best president ever” court of jesters. The 2016 budget is a joke, a disgrace and a representation of the unwholesome reality of governance in Nigeria. What that budget simply shows is that we simply are not ready for the change we so mouthed during the last elections. Government officials are speaking of austerity measures and the need for Nigerians to make sacrifices, yet our Budget Office is proposing to spend some bizarre sums on some irrelevant, good for nothing materials that contribute zero-value to the average Nigerian. The 2016 budget has N1 billion for the purchase of tables and chairs. We cannot introduce PDPian reality into governance and then pretend things have changed. N1 billion? For what? That amount will start a big furniture company with the capacity, not only to make enough chairs for the federal government, it will also create jobs. I don’t believe in government starting companies but I’d rather N1 billion spent that way than spent buying tables and chairs. Almost N7 billion will be wasted on the Senate President’s residence and some joke consultancy distraction. If we want to run Nigeria down, let us be frank with Nigerians, instead of telling them now things will be different while continuing with the inanities that led us here in the first place. As we speak, no one knows how the National Assembly spends its allocation. It collects its share and spends it without accounting to Nigerians. We can fool one another, but we cannot fool those watching from outside. So far, nothing has changed here! N4.8 billion has been proposed for operational vehicles for Nigerian Prisons. Let us assume these new vehicles are being bought in anticipation of the billionaires that will be jailed by president Buhari, should they then have access to the same exotic vehicles in prison as they did when eating out our collective wealth out of prison? N237 million was spent in 2015 – at least according to that budget – to purchase kitchen equipment for the state house. Now, another N89 million has been budgeted for same. How is it that kitchen equipment that cost almost N237 million cannot survive beyond a budget cycle? Haba! We cannot stay repeating the same mistakes – should they be called mistakes if they happen every year? – and expect that somehow things will change for the better. The biggest indication of a government’s direction and intention is its budget. If this budget represents the change the APC promised, we might as well now agree that the disaster that was the “Transformation Agenda” has a match in the joke that this is turning out to be. The most part of this is that those who ought to speak are scared to speak out, they would rather speak angrily against the budget privately, then go into the Senate chamber to praise the very same document they tore apart just minutes before. If we continue to make government about individuals, our country will not move an inch forward. What has been stated above about the budget is not a finger at who is wrong, it is a finger at what is wrong. The 2016 budget is wrong. Capital Expenditure at 30 per cent, despite an expanded budget essentially means the reality of recurrent expenditure against capital expenditure remains as it was under the Jonathan years. The difference is too marginal to be emphasized as “change.” President Buhari presented a great speech at the National Assembly when presenting the 2016 budget but if he had actually gone through some of the items in that budget, he would have instead sent those who prepared the budget to present it. This is the first budget under a new party since the PDP’s 16-year reign. It was not expected to be markedly different from theirs because reforms need to be gradual to be sustainable, and to avoid shocks on the economy. Having said this, some items on the 2016 budget could easily have been avoided altogether. Lessons must be learnt, the Buhari administration must do better. If there is one thing this administration can learn from the last, it is this; those who are seen as critics are better than those who praise your every move. We cannot afford to get carried away by the praises of those who will not be there when we are out of power. Those who hailed the last president, as the best thing that ever happened to Nigeria could not even spend a few thousands to wish him a happy birthday just months after he left office. It is the nature of power, it is transient and it carries sycophants along with it, in droves. Let it not be said that we did not speak when things go wrong. Let it not be said that our voices went dead when the very things we criticized under one government reared its head under another. The Wailing Wailers will say this is being done because people like us were not rewarded with government positions, but those with the power to share the offices know those who are begging them for same. And those who do not care who became what or didn’t. May we know to do better! © JJ. Aromas:Where did you see wole olanipekun in the report? The report clearly states that it was Niyi Akintola that led other SANs |
I Just saw it on lere olayinkas Facebook page too, this is the beginning of the end for them. |
Oxygen supply doesn't use electricity so the issue of no UPS doesn't make sense at all, maybe they're negligent in other areas but in the area the accuser stated above, thanks |
Which one is FG's own in this case now Mr Fayose? Did they tell you that aluko is in aso rock? Or has there any attempt to arrest him which was resisted by the DSS? Fayose is gradually losing it, federal might is gone, local support is gradually going as well. You better brace up on how to pay workers salary before they withdraw the little support you have |
This write up doesn't make any sense, so if there's a case at the Supreme Court and saharareporters speculates the judgement would go one way, are saying the Supreme Court would deliberately go against Sahara reporters even if that's the position of the law/constitution just to spite Sahara reporters? The Supreme Court judges would be the dullest people on earth if they ever follow this your analogy. |
PMB, things would be worse if gej was still at the helm of affairs, as early 2015 the FG was already borrowing to pay workers salary, NOI herself admitted it despite the fact that crude oil was selling between 63-68 dollars per barrel then, whereas now that crude is hovering just above 30 dollars per barrel, the FG is still able to meet most of her obligations. Yes, PMB hasn't lived up to expectations but gej wouldn't have done better, if a better candidate stood for the election, I definitely would have gone for him but gej is never a better alternative not even with all the revelations coming out at trial of our yam eaters |
I doubt if it's the fault of the FG, it must have been the plan of the mgt of that University to shortchange the staff. There's no complaints like that from members of staff of FUOYE which is also one the new federal universities in Ekiti state. I suggest the members of staff should raise alarm and even give it the widest publicity both in the print and voice, I'm sure the mgt will quickly reverse the decision |
I doubt the King would say such, it's really pathetic that Vanguard would publish a tweet whose source or handler wasn't confirmed, a simple call to his media aide could have solved this problem, tomorrow now the ooni will deny this and Vanguard will be apologizing again, aren't they ashamed of telling lies all the time? |
This is really shameful |
This doesn't make sense as far as I'm concerned, let this man say this on the floor of the Senate rather than ranting on Twitter. And he should not give us the story that he's giving his money to his constituents, what we want is a drastic reduction in their pay, he should champion this if he wants Nigerians to take him serious, he should stop playing on our intelligence |
Fayose who is yet to pay November salary for workers is registering widows for what? Why did he need to register them when we have a register used during fayemis administration that even involved data capturing,? At best all he needed to do will be to upgrade. While I'm not disputing the fact that the program took in the other two LG mentioned, I'm more than convinced that nothing of this nature took place in ilemeje local government cos that's where I work and I only left the place yesterday evening, so Mr Fayose pls stop lying |
I have a question for this lawyer and I'm asking out of curiosity and with a sincerity of purpose. If what he puts up there is true, how come Nigerian government was dragged to the ICC by the camerounian government over the bakassi land issue and not only did we attend the court, we even lost our land to them and the ruling is binding on us till today. If Nigerian government isn't bound to obey the ICC due to the fact that our national assembly hasn't passed the treaty into law in Nigeria, why didn't this supposed brilliant lawyer raise such then or even now rather than allowing us to lose such a valuable asset to another country? |
Onyocha:.. As much I condemn the massacre by the Nigerian army, the question nobody has been able to answer is; what was the reason why those guys blocked a federal Highway? What were they protesting about? Why didn't they just allow the army chief to pass after so much persuasion from the military officers who were seen pleading with them in the video? What did they intend to achieve by blocking the road and insisting that they wouldn't allow the military chief to pass? I condemn the military action but I also condemn the actions of the Islamic sect, you don't practice religion on the highway, there are better ways of making their grievances known, if they had any. Having a direct confrontation with constituted authority can only have one effect, unfortunately the outcome is not usually palatable |
Congratulate him for winning a court case? So how many people will the president Congratulate cos we have about 25-30 governorship cases in the court. How many govs who have had cases decided in their favour has Ben Bruce asked the president to congratulate? This man is becoming annoying by the day and I think his senatorial have just wasted their slot in the national assembly, cos he could do all these nonsense as ordinary citizen We've never heard of his contributions to any discussion at the plenary |
This is the beginning of the end of fayose, I knew it would come to this. All the noise he was making was just to seek attention but unfortunately for him nobody took notice of all his rants hence the need to go through the back door, but I doubt if it will work, I doubt if tinubu or obj will be willing to forgive him especially now that it's been shown that his influence is very minimal when it comes to national politics. Is it now that he's just realizing the unity of yoruba is important? So what aspects of yoruba unity did he go to aregbesola to discuss? Maybe he went there to learn how to survive owing workers salary anyway. Ayo Fayose pay our November salary! 3 months and still counting! |
Ayodele Fayose is a shameless individual |
God bless you GMB for putting an end to this scam! The kerosene subsidy stuff is the greatest scam of all time to me, you'll never get to buy it at the subsidized rate |
Ogbeni fayose, when are you paying our November salary? Ekiti is being grounded economically and you're there running mouths. You didn't pay our salary yet you imposed #1000 development levy on all our children in schools in the state. A forward thinking governor will be discussing what he will do to get alternative source of income for the state and not complaining that money isn't coming from the Fg. Ekiti state is blessed with fertile land and moribund textile industry, yet all you can think about is a miracle from Abuja. You can criticize PMB for all you care, that's none of my concern but please save some time to face governance in the state. A governor who can't pay salary but wants to build airport, you ask yourself where is common sense in that? And finally, please stop embarrassing the good people of Ekiti, we're forward thinking we'll mannerd people, if you must criticize, pls do it with decorum and let your criticism be constructive, thanks and God bless sir |
So Obasanjo offered you bribe in 2003 and you're just saying it in 2016, 13 good years after? Some people can lie sha |
Most of the comments here just show the problem with Nigerian youth, we don't read! A glance through the contents of the news would have informed you guys that this is an old news, but trust naija, they would just comment based on the headline |
Following the hue and cry over demolition of the popular Owonifari Electronic Market loop at Oshodi, the Lagos State government has said that the market had to go following its security threats to residents of the state. State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, at an inter ministerial chat with reporters on Thursday, said that the demolition exercise on Tuesday and Wednesday actually confirmed some of their fears, “as we discovered concrete bunker and arms underneath the shops.” The government said though the matter of relocation had been on for about 10 years, recent intelligence report and criminal activities around Oshodi during the festive season, informed the drastic action of the state government. The government said plans were already in top gear to begin the construction of a world- class bus terminus in the loop. It would be recalled that bulldozers swung into action late Tuesday night, destroying over 1000 shops in the Owonifari loop following a quit notice served to the occupants on December 21, 2015. Contrary to the claims that the 16-day notice order was too short, Ayorinde said that the issue dated back to 10 years, with back and forth negotiations held with leadership of the market on relocation to a larger Isopakodowo market about 200 metres from the demolished site. He stressed that the move was in the best interest of everyone, adding that the state government could not have been more magnanimous with the conditions of the new market and the rate at which the new shops were rented out. Ayorinde, however, said while markets would always be in Oshodi, some illegal structures already marked by the state government would have to be demolished to make way for traffic free-flow and crime-free Oshodi axis. He said: “Government, I should say, will not be blackmailed because we had done everything humanly possible and you know that the hallmark of this government has been compassion. It is a compassionate government. “The intention was not to destroy the market or destroy properties or to make life inconvenient for them. We believe very strongly that Isopakodowo market is quite ideal; its a lot bigger store-per-store than where they had been removed now and the aim of government, as we stated earlier, is to ensure that that area of the market conforms with the type of image that we want Lagos to be, which is to return sanity to the place, to beautify the market, to construct a world class bus terminus around that place and to ensure that people who use that place on a daily basis – the commuters, traders, everybody enjoy what it means to go to a market in a mega city. “We also believe that the exercise will largely reduce the gridlock that is associated with that area and then the criminalities that were rampant in that Oshodi. What we have done is in the interest of the generality of Lagosians,” Ayorinde said. The commissioner said that the government had already commenced the fencing-off of the set-back on Agege Motor Road that stretches from Ilupeju end of Oshodi all the way to the PWD/Ikeja GRA end of the area. Ayorinde said the ongoing fencing-off and beautification of the road set-back from Ilupeju bypass to PWD/Ikeja GRA would constitute the first phase of the transformation of the Oshodi area. The second phase, he added, would begin from PWD/Ikeja GRA and stretch all the way to Agege/Pen cinema axis. Commissioner for the Environment, Dr. Babatunde Adejare, said contrary to claims in some quarters, none of the occupants’ properties was destroyed in the demolition exercise. “On Tuesday night, we found that all the occupants have complied and moved to the new market. The only one that remained actually called us to say that he was in the East burying his late mother. For that one, we had to evacuate his properties and they are safe with us. So, nothing was destroyed in the exercise.” Adejare added that the governor had been so magnanimous to have allowed the shop owners acquire new shops in Isopakodowo market at N5,000 in a place like Oshodi. “There is nowhere in Lagos where you will be paying N5, 000 per shop not to talk of the central Oshodi, but the governor agreed with them and we said we were ready to concede after which we now formally served them with a quit notice through the office of the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development,” he said. http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/2016/01/bunker-arms-discovered-under-shops-at-demolished-oshodi-market/ |
Try and explain to her why you people should wait till you get married, if she still insists, then allow her to leave if she wants to. A lady once left because I didn't want to have premarital sex, now I'm happily married and the lady never cease to tell how she regrets her decision |
May God console the family of the deceased. I want to suggest that the case be thoroughly investigated cos for all you care it may be more than just an accidental discharge from a drunk policeman. Who says the guy was not assassinated? |
