No single name of the people who were sacked? How does one now confirm the veracity of this claim, moreover the writer doesn't really know how the military operates, because if he does he won't have written this rubbish. We really have to be careful the type of news we put out there, may God help us all |
There's no point praying for the dead - whether abacha or any other person - for the dead knows nothing! So praying for or cursing dead people is a useless thing to do. The lesson I learnt from abacha's death is that there's nobody that God cannot arrest or call to order, God owns our lives and can demand for it anytime He so wishes, let's spend the little time we have here rightly, may God help us all |
Can you imagine! So the oil production from ondo state alone is more than the production in the whole of southeast (imo and abia) mtchew |
eyeview:So you can't see that this a faction of the PDP that's not loyal to fayose? Tambuwa isn't the governor of kastina rather he's sokoto gov while Bello masari is for kastina. Always take time to read and digest before commenting on issues, thanks |
If the strike was politically motivated, was the non-payment of salary for 5 months too politically motivated? Some people probably reason with their anus. To those of you who said fayose is your hero, over to you |
Fayose should just shut up, if he still depends on FG allocation for him to do anything in his state, then he's one of the backward leaders in this country, if after almost 2years in office, no tangible projects have been commissioned, workers are being owed 5months salary, then he has no point to make. Buhari hasn't met up with the standard expected of and he needs to buckle up, but what we need is constructive criticism, we need people who know what they are doing to speak sense to Buhari but not one useless agbero guy |
Voting out gej will forever remain the best decision Nigerians ever made, but only time will tell if Buhari is a better alternative |
This badeh of a man may actually be a worse thief than dasuki |
The fourth prosecution witness in the trial of former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh, has narrated how he was instructed to lie to authorities and pretend as the owner of Mr. Badeh’s N1.8 billion shopping mall.http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/204018-badeh-asked-lie-efcc-i-n1-8-billion-shopping-mall-witness.html

I support PMB most times but I honestly think he needs to gather Nigerians who are versed in economic matters and constitute a real economy team which will give this administration the necessary directives on how to run the economy. The issue of making Osinbajo who is a lawyer the leader of your economy team doesn't make sense, if there's one area that this administration is seriously struggling, I think it's the area of economy and this needs to be corrected before it gets out of hand |
The day Nigerians start discussing issues without bias and prejudice, that day this country will start moving forward |
Did you read anywhere that the child is 15months old? All the reports so far said the baby is 4months old, and the picture is more in keeping with 4months old baby than 15months (which is a year and 3months). It's been very difficult for you guys to come to the reality because you people claimed no chibok girl was abducted in the first place. "a honestly mistaken man, when he comes in contact with the truth, he either ceases to be mistaken or ceases to be honest " |
I feel it's a good decision on the part of the government, because this guy has always tax waiver in the past without doing anything and he will continue to get tax waiver as far as Nigeria is concerned, so instead of him getting something for nothing, it's better this way at least he's giving something back to the society |
God bless you Reuben Abati, it's only the wise who would know that Buhari gave the best answer and that his answer actually implicated the Britain as a corrupt country. |
I can't see any element of intimidation in the letter, it was a reply to falana's letter to them and the summary is that he can't demand for the man's release except through a legal means. There was no threat whatsoever from the DSS |
While I cannot confirm the veracity of the reasons stated above by the Op as the cause of the face-off between fayose and ecobank, what I can authoritatively confirm is that fayose has directed all MDAs and agencies to stop banking with ecobank. I'm from ekiti and currently work with the state government, I was called on Thursday last week from the Hospital Management Board that all of us using ecobank as salary account must change our accounts within 48hours! I had to travel to ado ekiti that same day to effect the change. We brought ourselves to this level in ekiti and we should continue to endure for the next 2& half years. It will take us years to repair the damages that fayose has caused ekiti, the decision we made on that fateful day of June 21st |
I will never vote a PDP candidate, I may not vote APC too depending on what they achieve between now and then. As much as I believe in personality more than political parties, I doubt if anything good can ever come out of PDP again. |
Majek is a terrible guy |
COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF MEETING OF JOINT UNIONS/ASSOCIATIONS OF FEDERAL TEACHING HOSPITAL, IDO-EKITI HELD ON TUESDAY 3RD MAY 2016. PREAMBLE: We condole with the families of the six doctors and the NMA driver who died in a ghastly motor accident along Kaduna road {in which the hospital lost Dr Aladesanmi Tunde and Dr Akinyele Alexander and Dr Atolani} on their way to represent their colleagues at a National conference. We pray to God Almighty to protect and provide for the families left behind and to give all the fortitude to bear the irredeemable loss. We use this opportunity to thank the Ekiti State Governor Dr Ayodele Fayose, Kaduna State Government, all and sundry for the support rendered during the period of grief. We discussed critically the happenings at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti in recent times, the yarning of our members and the comments of the Hospital Management without bias and the following are our observations and resolutions. OBSERVATIONS We noted the insensitivity and the irresponsiveness of the Management of Federal Teaching Hospital Ido Ekiti since the occurrence of the accident. Despite being informed; Nine-days later the Management is yet to release a condolence statement to the bereaved families, neither has the Management made any visitation to members of the bereaved families nor were they involved in the burial arrangement for the deceased. We noted that instead of mourning the death or commiserating with their families, the Management especially the Chief Medical Director has politicized the situation and does not mind mocking the dead just to secure his second term ambition as evidenced by various utterances in the media. We noted with dismay the interview granted by the Chief Medical Director to the Nation Newspaper of Monday 2nd May, 2016 where he insulted and called us various unprintable names. We are terrified by the various claims made by the CMD in the said publication where he purportedly claimed that Only five (5) member of staff died since the inception of his administration as against the forty-two (42) claimed by us. Most worrisome is the act of unprofessionalism and unethical behaviour of the CMD in divulging the cause of death of a nurse (to be AIDS) in the Media. This level of desperation, unprofessionalism and insensitivity is disappointing and regrettable. We noted the grievances of the public resulting from the extortion via sales of application forms for employment into various positions in the Hospital at #5,000 each since 2013 without conducting any interview. Rather in October 2014 prior to the commencement of IPPIS, in order to cover the number of ghost workers, the Management employed over three hundred personnel without following due process and backdating their employment letters by one to two years. We noted the unjust removal of various allowances by the Management from the staff salaries e.g rural allowance, despite staff running various out-station in the rural areas. We noted with dismay the sacking of over Thirty Resident Doctors in the name of relocation without making replacement in the last three (3) years. Also we noted a drastic reduction in the numbers of intern doctors (115 to a staggering 18) intern Pharmacist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Physiotherapist etc. We noted with shock the undue inflation of the number of members of staff being paid under GIFFMIS platform and the siphoning of the left over funds. We also noted the stoppage of payment of Update fees, Examination fees, Revision Courses fees, Conferences, CPD and Training allowances to all categories of workers in the last 3 years. We noted the various harassment (including SEXUAL HARASSMENT), threat and victimization of staff through undue demotion, withdrawal of salaries and unnecessary outstation posting for no just cause. We noted that call food has been withdrawn for more than six months despite staff running life-saving duties during call hours compared with what is obtainable in sister institution. We could not believe the level of compromise and bastardization of NHIS services in the Hospital as characterized by unavailability of drugs and special care. We observed that Promotion Exercise at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti is biased and unfair. While friends and allies of the Management get undue promotion, the perceived enemies are denied despite fulfilling all criteria. We noted that payment of Government funds are being made into other accounts being run by the Hospital outside TSA. We noted the geometric increase in incidence of staff death in the Hospital as precipitated by poor welfare, compromised NHIS service and lack of pre-placement medical checkup despite deduction of fees for same from our salaries. RESOLUTIONS That members of staff are law abiding and at their various duty posts discharging their duties, though we are mourning our dead colleagues. That the Union/Associations have the names and file numbers of staffs who died within the last three years but we will not descend so low to publish their names without the permission of their families for ethical reasons. However such list can be made available on request. Therefore if the CMD is aware of only five, maybe the salaries of others are still being shared by the Management. That the Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti is supported by all Unions/Associations in their plan to set up a Trust Fund for wives and children of the affected members of staff of the Hospital. That the Chief Medical Director, Dr L. M Ayodele is becoming rather unprofessional and desperate in his bid to achieve his second term ambition. That the activities of the current Management led by Dr L.M Ayodele are not in line with the Change Agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR. That the entire staff lack confidence in the leadership of the current Management of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti as led by Dr L. M Ayodele, hence members of staff hereby PASS A VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE ON HIS LEADERSHIP. We hereby call on the Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to effect a change forthwith in the leadership of this institution. CONCLUSION We hereby assure the Government and the people of Ekiti State and Federal Republic of Nigeria of our commitment to quality service as we expect the favourable response of Government. SIGNED: Chairman Secretary Chairman Secretary Chairman Secretary Chairman Secretary Chairman Secretary I gave up on the man a long time ago! It's everywhere: nnd.li/LCxc99 |
This man can lie! According to him, it was his efforts that led to the rescue of the survivors even though he only heard about the accident around 9pm, so ayodele is saying that the survivors were left at the scene of the accident till 9pm because the accident occurred around 4;45pm! By 9pm that every body in ekiti already knew about and the number of casualties, infact by that time we already spoke with one of the survivors who told us the hospital they were. He also lied that he left sokoto for ekiti immediately, that's another big lie, infact he stayed back in sokoto till the end of the NMA prog on Thursday! Also saying only five people have since he took over is another blatant lie, although I can't confirm the 42 people are talking about but I know not less than 15 people who have died since 2012! Is it not surprising that neither ayodele nor the hospital management has issued a condolence message to the bereaved families over one week after the incident? So what's important to ayodele is that none of the doctors took permission for the journey? All I know is that we will all reap whatever we sow |
Fayose's end this time around will be worse than what happened to him in 2006 during his first term |
phemy36:Please which town are you in ekiti? I'm currently in ido-Ekiti, pls I won't mind to come over to your place and then take a walk round the town you live in to sample people's opinion at random. This will be at your convenience, we'll record people's response and upload here for all nairalanders to see |
RIP to a great king |
Which projects are they coming to commission? Awedele market road is less than 1.5km, Funmi olayinka complex is a building built in memory of the late deputy governor that died during fayemis tenure, the place was started by fayemi and fayose completed it, but my question about this project is ; of what use is this project to the state? Why are you inviting 11 governors to commission a building built on the burial ground of the late woman? Another project listed for commissioning is the amphi theatre he said he built inside ewis palace (ewi is the king of ado ekiti), not the entire palace, but a hall inside the palace! Is that worth inviting 11 governors to commission? What if he built the whole palace? I guess he would invite Obama for that? Fayose is currently owning us 4 months salary (jan-april), he has no money to pay that but there's money to invite 11 governors to a useless jamboree in ekiti. Please if you doubt all I've said above, you can take a trip down to ekiti this weekend, I will foot the bill. |
How come this man didn't address the part that talks about frsc men demanding for money to fuel their vehicle before they could take the injured to the hospital? The delay caused the death of one of the doctors who wasn't just a colleague of mine but a brother as well. During his burial earlier today, I was asking myself many questions, what if the health system in kaduna state was good? What if rescue mission came earlier? What if the frsc vehicle had fuel to quickly take the injured to the hospital on time? Perhaps my senior and brother wouldn't have died, perhaps Dr adeniyi would still be alive today, maybe the his mother, wife and children wouldn't be in sorrowful mood they were earlier today! |
My sister in law was paid on 25th while my wife got hers on 26th, they both work with federal teaching hospital, ido ekiti |
It's such a tragic thing! I'm still short of words. It's been very difficult to admit these wonderful teachers, and colleagues are gone, that I won't see them again is something I'm yet to come to terms with. I pray that God will console the immediate family members and the entire medical community in ekiti |
They held a programme on 24th March and the communique is just being released now, almost a month after the programme! I won't be surprised if some of the names mentioned come out tomorrow to deny their knowledge of such communique |

There's no doom that's stated here as far as I'm concerned, the article never pointed out any danger that may arise from taking the loans. As regards mismanagement of the funds, there's nothing to fear due to two reasons, firstly the fund will be accessed on project to project basis so it's not like there's one money that someone can take from or divert, secondly is that buhari is not likely going to allow people mess around with such money if at all it's available. Lastly, I want to ask, what do we stand to gain from devaluation of the naira, I really need a lecture on this cos most people I've asked seem not to understand the details too |
Fayose please keep quiet! You're worse than buhari in this aspect. Since you came on board, you've only added to the burdens of average ekiti. You're still owning us 3months salary, yet you asked our children in primary and secondary schools to pay taxes! Where in the world do children pay tax? You increased the taxes on tipper drivers thereby increasing the amount load of sand in the state, you didn't stop there you went ahead to increase the tax payed by the butchers in the state, thus taking meat out of the reach of common man. You've also increased the amount payed for car insurance in ekiti state, thereby making it hard for people to renew their vehicle papers, insurance alone now costs #5000 in ekiti, whereas to renew for cars before now, the total cost was roughly #5000, so Mr Fayose, charity begins at home |
