The bigger problem for the oppositions is that they are battling a PBAT at the zenith of experience, exposure and knowledge and then holds the ace of incumbency.

That is a journey of no return is you ask me.

There is no game up their sleeve that PBAT isn’t familiar with.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle”.

So you still think APC rigged the elections to the extent that they rigged Obaseki’s LGA?

If Obaseki couldn’t win his own LGA, it shows how terrible he is as a Governor. He has failed his people and the whole of Edo State. Asue was the sacrificial lamb unfortunately.

Edo State has taught Obaseki an unforgettable lesson! 🥹

To all the underperforming governors , dancers and those not delivering, get ready, your people will speak just as Edo people spoke yesterday.

The Obidient movement and LP paper weight in Edo election didn't pull any significant vote to reduce the vote of PDP in Edo State, you know they have always been thinking they have arrived. But the work APC USED them for was more valuable politically than reducing PDP vote:

1. Tv Stations and Radio Stations would have concentrated their energy AS USUAL in supporting PDP "codedly" but they had to divert the MEDIA NARRATIVE in favor of Olumide Akpata that would not amount to anything in the poll.

2. Media ANALYSTS that would have obviously pull their supports behind PDP, for the fear of Myrmidons were all painting both PDP and APC as failures in Edo, hence, PDP didn't enjoy the USUAL Media open support this time around.

3. Even the INFLUENCERS & CSOs that OBVIOUSLY are supporting PDP couldn't openly do so because they openly said LP is the NEW ORDER just last year election. For them to maintain that NARRATIVE of dismantling "structure of Criminality", they must not be seen supporting PDP openly...That alone was a shield for APC.

In it all, the emergence of Obidient movement will always be a tool in the hands of APC in every COMPETITIVE election that naturally would have tilted towards PDP, APC played opposition for years, the only one to catch up with APC is APC from within.

seguntijan:
To those of you shouting rigging, are you trying to tell me that APC rigged in the incumbent governor’s LGA as well?

This fight is obviously personal for the people of Edo

Four years ago, Obaseki had to run to PDP even when PDP was almost wrapping up with their primary election.

PDP saved Obaseki and gave him their entire structures against Oshiomole and APC in Edo State.

In fact, some APC governors low-key supported Obaseki, including some power gladiators from the Villa.

Personally, I made a series of tweets throwing my support for him. Some of us even criticised BAT when he made that video.

The slogan was "Edo No Be Lagos".

Wait!

How did he lose such goodwill in the space of 4 years. All those who fought for him, the majority of them are no longer with him.

How did he lose goodwill with Oba of Benin to the extent that PDP entourage couldn't visit him.

Before you throw blame here and there, do your findings, and you might understand why the election was keenly contested.

:Let us learn to accept the results of elections in Nigeria. The PDP won this same election in 2020 when the APC controlled the Federal Government. We did not complain then. The defeated candidate of the APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, did not make comments that threatened the peace of the state.

We are allowing the sentiment that is popular in our immediate location to affect our judgment of the Edo election. Your party may be strong in your state. But this is not your state. This is Edo State. All politics is local.

The PDP won in 2020 because we were united. Philip Shaibu, our great mobiliser, and Dan Orbih, our party's strong man in Edo, were with Obaseki. This time around, the PDP was divided. Philip Shaibu and Orbih were with our opponents. And we saw this coming when Shaibu was treated shabbily after the primaries. He ought not to have been treated like that.

I would like to say I am surprised at the election result. But I am not. If you want to be emotional, be my guest. But elections are won by rational people.

You have a Governor scaring the electorate by saying the election is a "Do or die affair"?

And knowing the almost godlike authority of the Oba of Benin, why would Obaseki have even quarrelled with His Royal Majesty, Omo N'Oba N'Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare II, over the abode of the returned Benin artefacts? They were looted from the Oba's palace and were the property of the Oba's direct ancestors. At least, the Oba ought to have the main say over their mainstay.

It was hubris on the part of Governor Obaseki to have thought otherwise. How can you be named Obaseki and fail to defer to the Oba? Your name literally means the Oba's favour is better than success in trading or other endeavours?

As I am today, if the Olu of Warri slaps me, I will apologise to him for giving him reasons to slap me. That is how much people who understand royalty respect a natural monarch.

Politics is about addition. You try to avoid subtraction. No matter how popular you think you are, if your opponent is practising addition and you are implementing subtraction, the result of the election is a foregone conclusion, even if you allow social media to mislead you. Remember, there are no polling booths on the Internet.

Sometimes, you win elections, and sometimes you learn. But you only lose if you refuse to learn.

To show seriousness in ensuring Monday wins Edo state, APC had their National Chairman, National Secretary, the Senate President with about 7 Governors on ground in the state!

PDP meanwhile couldn’t get their acts together, it was when election was over that their Governors started announcing results. Imagine the joke. Their party’s candidate did as if NOTHING CONCERNS HIM again

As for Labour Party, it was just Online noises

Election is a serious business and unity of a party plays a major role

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must make sure that Peter Gregory obi contest for 2027 general election under labour party to divide PDP votes again.

Obaseki ought to have excused himself from Asue's campaign the way Tinubu did in APC.
He shouldn't have been the face.
Maybe they should have campaigned more on the performance of Asue in his corporate life.

The permutation for this Edo election is very simple.

APC has Oshiomole for Edo North on lockdown ✅
Senator Monday has Edo central on lockdown ✅

Edo South is the swing Senatorial District and it has the majority votes. That’s where Obaseki and Olumide Akpata comes from.

So whatever votes APC get in Edo south is good enough for us to scale to victory. ✌🏽

The Edo South senatorial district in Edo State covers seven local governments which include Oredo, Ovia South West, Egor, Ovia North East, Orhionmwon, Ikpoba Okha and Uhunmwode local government areas. Oredo LGA is the headquarters (collation centre) of Edo South.

Democracy at the end of the day is a popularity contest. It is the tyranny of the majority. You either love it or hate it.

Let it be known that since the 2023 elections were concluded, these losers haven’t been able to produce any candidate from their party as a winner of any election. They just continue to play the spoiler card to give way for the party they hate the most, despite their messiah endorsing these candidates.
Their popularity will be tested against Soludo next year in Anambra, once they lose that one also, they should just forget Nigeria politics.

2027, May God keep us alive, I can’t wait to watch them lose again, in grand style.

The first ERROR Obidient movement and LP made in Edo election was to go against reality that Politics is SENTIMENT.

The people were telling you to ZONE it to their own Zone, they said their own person has not governed Edo for more than 35 years. they said EMILOKAN is not just Tinubu's statement but political REALITY that must be obeyed in local politics.

Even APC had to rearrange their Primaries to reflect that EMILOKAN reality to gain the sentiment of the LOCALS...
Edo Central said EMILOKAN, but you guys love funny takes and noise making because Peter Obi is now popular in your own eyes.....

but you guys love Twitter Emotion than common sense!

OBIdients are always USEFUL and what makes them unique is that they are not aware of this🤣🤣🤣

Fellow Nigerians, let us take a look at Kenya.

William Ruto was elected in 2022. Decided to raise taxes to reduce the deficit and have access to loans. The citizens protested, destroyed and looted the country.

The president cowered, did their bidding , drop the new taxes and reduced the size of his cabinet.

But did that change anything ?. NOPE.

Kenya will be forced to borrow at an expensive rate , will sink further in debt and progress will be slow.

Meanwhile , the protesters continues to threaten the president everyday about another round of protest. They have fully weaponized protest, become a bone in the neck of Ruto and a distraction for his administration

What did Ruto gain by cowering to the protesters?. What did Kenyans gain ?

Safe to say the wheels of progressed is grinding to a halt in Kenya.

Now compare the contrast to President Tinubu who within a year got an improved credit rating for Nigeria from three rating agencies, got our foreign reserves up after paying a backlog of $5 billion within 4 month, paid external debt of $3.5 billion, paid domestic debt of N7.4 trillion amongst other local debt, got our stock market performing the best in Africa, got our Revenue from N 3trillions ( H1 2023) to over 9 trillion ( H1 2024) , oil and gas production up, security and fight against terrorism improved, funding to health and education improved and reform underway, social safety net reform, student loan, minimum wage, credit facility, youth investment funds, to mention a few.

But you want the same man to go the William Ruto way ?.

You clearly don’t want the best for the country nor wish the country well!!!

I don't think Local government chairmen are caged in Lagos o. From Kosofe to Shomolu to Bariga to Lagos Island East to Ikoyi-Obalende local government chairmen are really working like governors in other states.
