Politics / Ogun 2019 Update :Plot by Amosun to bribe INEC Bursted by segunwilly: 10:21am On Mar 07, 2019
It has been confirmed that the governor is relying heavily on the EOs to manipulate this Saturday's election. And it has been confirmed that he has bribed each EOs with 1 million naira each.

Incase you don't know, EOs are the ones who get election materials for each LG from the REC and they are assisted by 3 assistants.

Amosun has also bought the Police institution in Ogun State. Each DPO is getting N500 thousand naira.

Also at this same time, some contracted tailors are sewing NYSC uniforms and Policemen clothes at Alhaji Mufa house at Sabo. Alhaji Mufa is the elder brother of Ibikunle Amosun.

WAY FORWARD FOR LOVERS OF DEMOCRACY

ALL party agents must be very sharp and intelligent. They must open their eyes from the point where election materials will be released and transported to each polling unit.

They must ask the right questions fearlessly and also ensure that they monitor election results to collation centers.

Ogun State is about to experience the most interesting and groundbreaking electoral fraud and rigging under the direct supervision of Ibikunle Amosun, who is hell bent to install a fraudster and gay as his successor.

If Gov. Amosun could fire Triple A as SSA (Taxation & IGR) for alleged misappropriation, then SIA is cruel to want same man as his successor. The people of Ogun State must resist this attempt and stand for what is just and right. The people of Ogun State must resist this attempt and stand for what is just and right.

As you go to the poll on Saturday, vote to reject 3rd term, vote to reject Governor by proxy and vote against another embarrassment like the Kemi Adeosun saga.
Politics / Opinion Poll Causes Jitters In Ogun State by segunwilly: 8:03pm On Mar 05, 2019
Fresh facts have emerged on why some political parties are spreading fake rumours that Ogun State African Democratic Congress (ADC) Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka has stepped down from the race.

The rumour which has backfired and exposed the weaknesses of GNI opponents had been discarded as failed propaganda.

But unknown to many the result of the opinion poll conducted by an independent Swaghenz Consult and released Tuesday morning showed that the ADC candidate is comfortably leading in 15 out of 20 local government areas in the state polling 43 percent of all the total votes cast.

Second on the list was the APC that scored 25 percent while PDP came distant third with 19.8 percent. APM polled 12 per cent. Other parties scored less than 0.02 per cent in an opinion poll that sent many politicians back to the drawing table in the state.

Majority of the respondents said they considered integrity and track records of the candidates in voting in the opinion poll. Besides, some of the candidates were said to have one Issue or the other the law court which made them to fail integrity test.

Respondents are also of the opinion that never has political parties in Ogun State fielded some candidates with questionable characters. While one is still facing certificate forgery scandal, another is an American ex convicts while one cannot even travel outside the shore of the country.

Reacting to the opinion poll, APM e-rats went to town with fake news that the leading contestant, Isiaka has stepped down as a diversionary tacit to water down the effect of the opinion poll.

Also the result has rattled APC apologists that doubled their attack on GNI and entertaining themselves on thier wishful thinking.

However, many analysts in the state have approved the veracity of the opinion poll as a true reflection of what voting pattern will look like on Saturday. They advised the electroreates to be vigilant and defend their votes to prevent ballot box stuffing, altercation of result sheets and vote buying that characterised Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.

Wishful thinking. The election is APC's to lose. How many seats did ADC win on February 23rd? APC swept the polls in all the senatorial districts including his, that is in spite of the APM schism.

Most of the candidates in question are not as popular as GNI.... People don't vote party nowadays, they vote personalities...

Politics / I Have Not Stepped Down For Anyone, I Am Still Very Much In The Race - GNI by segunwilly: 9:33am On Mar 05, 2019
PRESS RELEASE

GNI IS VERY MUCH THE CANDIDATE OF THE AFRICAN DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (ADC) AND SET FOR VICTORY IN THE MARCH 9TH 2019 GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION
(A rebuttal of the wicked rumour in Ijebu area that GNI has defected to the APC)!

The attention of the Gboyega Nasir Isiaka Campaign Organization has been brought to the sinister rumour especially in some areas of Ogun East senatorial district to the effect that our Principal, the Gubernatorial Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) has purportedly joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). This is a lie from the pit of hell and we are not surprised this is coming in the last few hours to the governorship election – where GNI is set for victory.

Our investigation revealed that the rumour is the handiwork of some disgruntled elements in Ijebu area that are sympathetic to the APC and their intention is to discourage our supporters in Ijebuland. We were also inundated with the fact that the rumour gained traction due to the defection of Deji Ashiru, the Senatorial Candidate of the ADC in the National Assembly Elections to the APC; especially the rebranding of Ashiru’s campaign vehicles – which had GNI images – to the APC colours.

Let us state emphatically that Ashiru’s purported movement to another party is his personal choice and has nothing whatsoever to do with GNI. His campaign vehicles are also his personal properties which he reserves the right to deploy to any use as he deems fit. We also saw the deliberate plot with the manner in which these agents of destabilization promoted the vehicle rebranding on social media just to weave a plot and score cheap political points.

We wish to state that GNI as the governorship candidate of the ADC remains strong and focused on the race ahead; suffice to that we are set for victory in Saturday’s governorship election. Our supporters and the voting public in Ogun East senatorial should disregard the wicked rumour and go all out to vote for GNI as the next governor of Ogun state and all the ADC House of Assembly Candidates on March 9th 2019.

The People's Democratic Ogun Central Senatorial Candidate has resigned from PDP and has reiterated his plan to support ADC Gubernatorial Candidate in person of Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka.

Although there are reports that the All Progressive Congress in the state is doing everything to win this Political figure to their side using every available Federal might at their disposal. Yet, the renowned Politician has clearly stated that his support for GNI is born out of personal conviction and long standing relationship he has with the Candidate.

GNi - "Firstly, I am from Ogun state, I had my primary and secondary school education here in Ogun state so I know where the shoe pinches. If you are looking for someone who knows so much about Ogun state, I am one. I have traversed the length and breadth of this state. I have had interactions with different people in different religion and party. Apart from all these, I have the passion to serve the people of Ogun state. I am the most prepared of all the candidates to be Governor of Ogun state. My 8 years as GM, Gateway Holdings and 8 years moving round the state in my quest to become Governor of Ogun state" :

GNI : "As for what i have done differently to get elected this time around, i opted for a more democratic, participatory and less rancorous party like the ADC. It is a party devoid of internal wranglings and infighting. We have gone to all the 236 wards in the 20 LGs in the state to canvass for votes from our people. Preaching the message of HOPE and telling them what we want to do differently when we get to power by the grace of God" :

GNI- "Education is an integral part of my 7- Steps development agenda for Ogun state. Education is one of those keys that helped the Yorubaland to stand tall anong other ethnic nationality in the country. We must ensure the glory is restored in Ogun state. We cannot subject our children to terrible conditions in schools were roofs are leaking and many dont have chairs and desks. We must ensure the standard of the teaching is high. We cannot continue to lag behind in 19th position in the log when performance of states in WAEC is concerned. We are going to renovate all existing schools and to this effect, we are going to set up a unit for this in the Ministry of Education. We are going to initiate STEM model in our school curriculum. We are also going to encourage vocational and technical training. We must motivate our teachers and ensure prompt payment of their emokunents. Bursaries must be paid and scholarships will be granted on merit to those who deserve it. MAPOLY situation will be looked into and we must resolve the crisis that has engulfed the institution. For the Model schools that the SIA government couldn't complete in 8 years, we are going to review the project and put it to good use especially in vocational and technical training. We will ensure Free Education in primary and Junior level is sustained and then introduce free education at the secondary school level too" :

GNI- All LGs that have boundaries with Lagos are going to recieve special attention for development in our Government. We are going to set up Ogun/Lagos Border town development agency to facilitate the infrastructural development of these LGs. They need good and motorable roads. They lack good schools and hospitals. Yet people are coming from neighbouring states to settle in this area and we must be proactive in this regard. I have visited all these areas - Agbara, Ogere, Mowe, Arepo, Ota etc to interact with residents there. -

Yet people are coming from neighbouring states to settle in this area and we must be proactive in this regard. I have visited all these areas - Agbara, Ogere, Mowe, Arepo, Ota etc to interact with stakeholders

GNI - "In 2011 when this Government took over, they took some decisionsr that were not good enough and was born out of vindictiveness. Government is a continuum and so I am not from the school of thought that one must write off the 8 years of a government. I believe Ogun state is greater than all of us and its interest should be paramount. We will do a review of all projects embarked upon by this government, those that must be sustained will be sustained, those that needed to be improved upon, we will improve on it. We believe Ogun state has the required human, material, natural and mineral resources to be an envy of other states in Nigeria" :

GNI: "When our Government come into effect, we will ensure that Local Governments are independent and have a free hand to do their constitutional duties. We won't emasculate them or take over their responsibilities or finances. The present structure where LGs are crippled financially is not sustainable. LGs should be able to construct roads in their domain in our government" :

GNI -: "We are also going to ensure the development and empowerment of our teeming youth population. ICT is one sector we are going to use to drive the development of our youth. Sports has been neglected and we must revive sports development to engage our Youth. Our Sports facilities must be given attention. I know we can employ and engage many Youth in the Sports sector. We also want to provide soft loans to our Youth and women who have businesses and need support. We must also ensure that our companies employ our Youth who need gainful employment. This should be part of our agreements with companies when they set up shop in Ogun state" :

GNI : "We have plans for non-indigenes in the state. Same for the Physically challenged in the state. We intend to appoint representatives of these groups in our cabinet when elected. The kind of support we have received from this set of people is unquantifiable and so we cannot afford to neglect them when we come to power" :

GNI : "It is true President Obasanjo said I am the most qualified to Govern the state and his assertions and reasons are valid. I am also someone who has not been invloved in any scandal. I don't have any corruption allegatiom levelled against me and there is absolutely no controversy over my origin or where I'm from. All these informed my endorsement by the Traditional rulers and Ogun West Shareholders who met and decided to back my ambition to be Governor. They know and trust me very well. One thing is sure, the people are interested in the person who wants to occupy the office now rather than the party of the candidate" :

GNI : "I am committed to frontally addressing the issues of pensions and gratuity. It is sad that have served this state continue to suffer unduly due to insensitivity of government. All these will be eradicated in our administration" :

Politics / Amosun Defrauded Ogun Unemployed Youths Through Ascon by segunwilly: 6:07pm On Mar 03, 2019
We would recall that Amosun promised to provide jobs for the unemployed youths in Ogun state during his campaign.

Afterwards, Amosun directed that interested candidates should pay N10,000 before being allowed to sit for ASCON exam.

The Civil Service Commission claimed the exam was meant to screen the candidates so as to get the best and most outstanding ones to fill the vacancies in the Ogun State Civil Service.

Over 20,000 candidates paid the N10,000 ASCON fees and sat for the exam at the former MAPOLY, Ojere, Abeokuta and during the exam, Amosun said he will employ 5,000 candidates (comprising new applicants and other sub cadres) through the ASCON examination and other related processes.

After the exams, the successful/qualified ones were then invited for interview and they went through the rigorous processes of interview, document verification and other stages and are anxiously expecting to resume work as a civil servant BUT hitherto, we haven’t heard anything, and bearing in mind that Amosun’s government is almost rounding up.

This is a clear case of fraud as it is now clearly evident that Gov. Amosun has duped the unemployed youth of over N200m (over 20, 000 candidates paid the N10,000 ASCON fees) and this same Amosun wants to represent us at the Senate and also install his stooge (Akinlade) as the next Governor.

We the youth of Ogun state say a big NO to Akinlade as we see it as a continuation of fraudulent government in Ogun state. We also demand immediate employment of the 5,000 that have passed the ASCON exams or a total refund of our N10,000.

We cannot be unemployed and still be scammed by Gov. Amosun of our hard-earned N10,000, totaling over N200m and still, he wants to scam us of our votes again.

Ogun indigenes, pls shine your eyes, Gov. Amosun is a fraudster and a big thief.

Politics / Battle Line :Amosun Is Overstepping His Boundaries by segunwilly: 8:03pm On Mar 02, 2019
BATTLE-LINE! Governor Amosun is overstepping his boundary, Labour dares him to make his worst move, ahead of March 5 protest

The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has revealed that plans are in motion to must rescue Ogun workers from some alleged anti-labour practices of the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

This was made known yesterday night by the President of NLC, Mr Ayuba Wabba, while stating the position of the congress known in a statement released in Abuja.

Image result for amosun labour ogun
There has been a confrontation between the state governor and the leadership of NLC over non-payment of workers’ salaries and arrears and the recent sack of the NLC state chairman by the governor.

The NLC leadership also accused Amosun of non-remittance of statutory deductions from workers’ salaries and his refusal to pay gratuities of retired state and local government workers since 2013.

Wabba said NLC was prepared for a showdown with the governor if attempts were made to “disgrace the NLC” during its rescheduled March 5 protest in the state, as reportedly threatened by him.

He said the decision to ‘confront and tackle’ Amosun had already been taken by the NLC at its 12th National Delegates Conference and that there was no going back on it.

“The leadership of the NLC has taken cognisance of a statement credited to the Gov. of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, where he threatened to disgrace the leadership of the NLC if the Congress insists on embarking on a protest scheduled for Tuesday March 5, 2019 in Ogun State. This was reported by Premium Times on 1st March 2019 and other platforms. Our Position is that The Nigeria Labour Congress has taken note of the threat by Governor Ibikunle Amosun. But we want to assure him that his threats will not deter us from defending the interest of workers in Ogun State whose rights he has been trampling upon. This is especially on the following issues: the non-remittance of statutory deductions from workers’ salaries for pensions, cooperative, ileya, Christmas etc. over a period of one hundred and five (105) months,” he said.

He said that Amosun had refused to pay salary arrears of workers at the Tai Solarin College of Education, according to him, which has accumulated for the past ten years and now grosses to a financial liability of about N9 billion.

“To make matters worse, Governor Amosun sacked the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress from his employment for standing firm in the defence of the rights of workers in Ogun State. The issues we have highlighted are too grievous to be swept under the carpet, therefore, the decision of the 12th National Delegates Conference of the NLC to confront and engage Governor Amosun will be carried out to the letter on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. We are not unmindful of the fact that even Amosun’s political party has complained of his penchant to violently disgrace other spheres of leadership outside his control and sometimes beyond him.

“We are not unmindful of the fact that Governor Amosun’s hostility to Nigerian workers is primarily a transfer of aggression. Our confidence stems from the protection and guarantees provided by Section 40 of the 1999 Constitution, which gives workers and indeed all Nigerians the freedom to peaceful assembly and protest,”he said.

While insisting on the scheduled protest, Wabba added that, “”All that the law requires us to do is to inform the police and relevant security agencies. This we have done. We are ready to peacefully protest the grievous mistreatment by our workers in the hands of Governor Ibikunle Amosun on 5th March 2019. We want to warn Governor Amosun that we will hold him personally responsible for any harm that comes to any worker during our protest on March 5, 2019.
Politics / APM, The New ATM In Ogun After 7 Years Of Neglect. by segunwilly: 8:00am On Mar 01, 2019
They are boasting of keeping billions of Naira already to campaign and dole out to people to vote APM, this is the money they are supposed to have used in paying;

1. Students bursary for almost 7 years of nonpayment
2. Tai Solarin College of education staff salaries and arrears of 6 years.
3. Ogun State higher institutions subventions of 7 years.
4. Over 46% of Ogun State workers salaries in the form of Coop deductions, promoting arrears, leave bonus, study allowances to the tune of BILLIONS OF NAIRA.
5. Networks of roads and bridges across the 20 Local Government which are in a messy and internationally embarrassing situation. Those of us living in Ogun State especially in Ifo, Ado Odo/Ota, Yewa North, Ipokia, Obafemi Owode, Odeda, Sagamu, Ijebu Ode, Imeko-Afon LGs are not only living in pain, our lifespans are been reduced, just because Amosun wants to be the richest man in Africa whose boys are bragging to have the richest bags of money to deceive the suffering masses of Ogun State.

How many of the branded buses he bought with our stolen money will revive our lost lives to accident, manhours lost on the death tolls called roads or loss of lives in our mortuaries called hospitals without drugs, electricity, sufficient doctors and nurses, beddings and so on?

Can we imagine Amosun has sank billions of Naira on his anointed candidates from APC to APM including Abudukabiru Adekunle Akinlade as Governor, Gbeleyi as Senator for Ogun West and so on in APM. With all these embezzlement to win the 2019 elections and continue his looting from the rare stage through Triple A, are Ogun State people so foolish to vote Amosun stooges into power again to secure third term agenda for Amosun? They are even bold to say they are sustaining the mission to rebuild Ogun State as if rebuilding Ogun State is just about demolishing thousands of houses and business outfits and fail to construct roads after all.

Ogun people will collect all the money you are bringing and still vote you out. APM means ATM, it is time Amosun spends all the money he has been looting through Triple A. Please Vote wisely

GOVERNORSHIP candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State, Mr. Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka (GNI), on Wednesday said he is poised to run his government with a good heart, strong passion and true love for the people that generation yet unborn would be proud of if elected into office as next governor of the state.

Isiaka gave the promise in Lagos at an interactive session he had with newsmen, assuring that he would ensure that his government strives to make a remarkable impact on the lives of people of Ogun State in areas, including education, health, job creation, roads, infrastructure, among others within just two years in office.

This was just as he disclosed that his administration was resolved to convoke a summit within first 30 days of assuming office to proffer solutions to the problems facing the sector in the state, lamenting that it was bad that the state had to slide to no 19 in WAEC out 36 states in the country.

Having contested twice for the governorship position of Ogun state and lost, what motivates you to enter the race for a third time?

Yes, I am running for the governor of Ogun for the third time. I first ran in 2011 and 2015. I am very optimistic that given all the factors, this time around I will be able to get it. I am from the Yewa bloc of Ogun state in Ogun West Senatorial District. I bring to the table, first my capacity, experience, knowledge and exposure. I make bold to say that among all the people that are contesting for the governorship position in Ogun today, I can beat my chest that when it comes to the candidate with a rich knowledge of the state, passion and track record that gives a positive indication as to what to do when elected into office, I make bold to say that I am poles apart from the other candidates. In addition to that is the fact that I come from a part of the state that has not produced the governor. I have always said that my certificate or qualification or what I put on the table for this office is not where I come from, it is who I am; though where I come from happens to be an advantage because indeed, when there is no equity, there cannot be peace. Therefore, I believe based on the principle of equity, where I come from, which is the Yewa axis of Ogun gives me an advantage. Having traversed the entire nook and crannies of Ogun state and having managed the investment of the state for about 7 to 8 years with a record that I am proud of even till now, and having been around on the streets all this while without and scandals around me, I believe I have what it takes to pilot the affairs of the state.

The belief by some people is that you are well known in political circles, but that your party, ADC is not very popular which may affect your chances. What is your take on this?

Let me first of all correct the wrong impression that my party, African Democratic Congress (ADC), is not a well-known political platform in Ogun State; maybe before now that statement may be necessary. But in the last couple of months now after our electioneering campaign, ADC has now become the fastest growing political party in Ogun State with great acceptance by the people.

Again, I want the people to also know that the individual coming to power is a more significant factor since it is human beings and human factors that drive political parties and political administration.

To God be the glory, I can emphatically mention here that the brands GNI and ADC are now prominently well known to the people of the state, as a leading candidate and leading party in this coming general election.

What are your plans for Ogun state if elected?

My intention is to achieve what we called ‘A Greater Ogun State’. That is premised on the fact that Ogun state has lots of potentials. It is not so much about who has done what or who has not done what. While that is there, I think the important thing is that we have quite a lot of potentials in human and material resources. Good location is also an advantage to us that we can explore for a better development of Ogun State. That is what we want to try and do if elected. In doing that, we also want to make sure that we put into place certain areas that we consider important; education is key in what we want to do. Health is also another key area we want to look at. Job creation is also one of the seven-point agenda that we have towards a greater Ogun state. We also want to look at Agriculture and rural roads and inter-community roads. Our roads in Ogun state are in deplorable condition, so we are giving infrastructure priority too. We also want to look at our border towns which are number 6 on our agenda. Our border towns and communities that shares boundaries with Lagos where we believe we have lots of potentials that we can tap into. Infrastructures in those areas are particularly bad yet the population is increasing by the day. In addressing that challenge, we want to set up an agency that will specifically look at those things. In doing that, we will be able to grow our economy and economic activities will grow there. Finally, we will improve the relationship with the public servants and general reorientation of our people. Value system is broken down everywhere in the in this country and it is reflected in everything we do, including our electoral systems. We have a situation where elections have turned to bazaar as it were. So, we just have to find a way to continuously push for what is our society is known for; things like values, ethics, hard work, honesty, patriotism and so on. Even if it is a small percentage that buys into it, we will continue to do that. So, as a government, we want to do that through our traditional institutions and religious bodies. Most importantly, we want to run government with a good heart, passion and to leave a lasting legacy that the generation coming after us will be proud of because at the end of the day, what we do is determined by who we are more than what we have done.

You are contesting against a candidate that has the support of the ruling party at the centre and another that has the support of the incumbent governor. What are your chances?

Politics / GNI Charges ADC Memebers To Remain Strong And Focused On The Victory Ahead by segunwilly: 4:08pm On Feb 25, 2019
*GBOYEGA NASIR ISIAKA CAMPAIGN ORGANISATION (GNICO)*

*PRESS STATEMENT*

NASS ELECTION OUTCOME: ADC SUPPORTERS SHOULD REMAIN STRONG AND FOCUSED ON THE VICTORY AHEAD ~~ GNI

On the 23rd February 2019, teeming members of the ADC and indeed, the good people of Ogun State went out to vote for their representatives into the two chambers of the National Assembly; and as results trickle in and awaiting release of final official results, the outcomes for the ADC may not have been as expected .

I want to thank all faithful of the African Democratic Congress and every citizen of the state that put in their votes for our candidates. I am of the firm believe that this exercise marked a paradigm shift in the political history of Ogun State; as we effectively birthed a third force built on sound democratic credentials and peoples power.

The results notwithstanding, we must appreciate ourselves for the effort and courage to go the other way. We must also appreciate the good people of Ogun State for every single vote the ADC got in the last 48 Hours. The acceptance and good faith shown us have been most endearing.

However, the battle continues and our chances remain very bright. As party members, we must not be despondent or discouraged at the final results of the National Assembly elections. The Gubernatorial and State Houses of Assembly election on March 9th 2019 will be a watershed in Ogun State. That day represents another opportunity for the will of the masses to prevail. It is a stand-alone election that will be determined purely by the votes of Ogun electorate.

I am very positive that no two elections are the same. The fundamentals and dynamics of two Saturday's time will confound the critics and pundits. We have traversed the length and breadth of Ogun State. The people have made up their minds to give us the winning votes; and that must be our abiding motivation.

I implore every patriotic member of the ADC to look ahead with optimism and be confident of victory on March 9th, 2019. To this effect, the next ten days becomes critical. We must double all efforts in our respective locations and polling booths; ensuring that we work on further selling the ideals of our party and forging strategic alliances.

Like one of my favourite quote says, "Victory is always possible for he who refuses to stop fighting". We shall not rest until victory is delivered and I believe that standing together, the ADC will win the Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections.

To the people of Ogun State, I sincerely thank you all for the votes. We are committed to the promises made all through the electioneering period and on this strength, we trust that you will stand firm by our electoral covenant by voting for me and all other ADC candidates in the next election.

Politics / Ogun 2019 :inec Refuses To Release Ballot Papers For Senatorial Election by segunwilly: 7:32pm On Feb 15, 2019
OGUN ADC PRESS STATEMENT:

The attention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been brought to the refusal of Ogun INEC to release ballot papers for Senatorial election; just few hours to voting.

We understand that the commission had earlier released ballot papers for Presidential and House of Representatives election. We wonder how the ballot papers for the Presidential and House of Representatives got ready but the senatorial became unavailable.

All efforts to get the Resident Electoral Commission to release the papers for Senate has so far proved abortive.

Ogun electorate is hereby put on notice about the potential danger of this premeditated action.

We therefore urge the commission to immediately releae the ballot papers for senatorial election now!

APM Guber Hopeful Akinlade Indicts Governor Amosun and APC... Confirms Ogun State is in a State of Hopelessness.

The Ogun state APM gubernatorial candidate, Hon Adekunle Akinlade has described the people of Ogun State as hopeless. He made the statement at the just concluded BBC Yoruba Gubernatorial debate which was held today.

In his words Akinlade said he had visited 211 wards across Ogun state and he has seen how hopeless the people of Ogun State are... "I have covered 211 wards in ogun state and have seen the hopelessness of people"

This statement from Hon Adekunle Akinlade shocked the audience at the debate who were all dumbfounded considering the fact that he Akinlade is a stooge of the incumbent governor, Ibikunle Amosun and the statement is an indictment on the part of the governor.

Another gubernatorial candidate present at the debate, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka thanked Hon Akinlade for speaking the truth and admitting that Governor Ibikunle Amosun has failed the state. Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka responded by telling Hon Akinlade that he has covered the whole 236 wards three to four times since 2011 and that he is glad Hon Adekunle Akinlade can testify to the fact that Ogun State has backpedaled during the reign of Governor Ibikunle Amosun and that is why he is on a rescue mission in ensuring a life more abundant for all and sundry in our dear State.

Politics / Isiaka Raises Alarm Over Alleged Plans To Rig Election by segunwilly: 6:58pm On Jan 30, 2019
The Ogun State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, has raised the alarm over what he termed “clandestine and well-orchestrated plan” by the opposition political parties in the state, to manipulate the results of the March 2 governorship election.

Isiaka, who declined to mention the parties involved in the alleged plot, disclosed that the “plotters” have perfected four different rigging plans, including unleashing of thugs to precipitate violence in many polling booths and compromise the collation of election results.

The ADC governorship candidate, otherwise known as GNI, rang this alarm bell at a World Press conference held at his campaign office in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

Speaking further, Isiaka, explained that part of the plans to skew the outcome of the poll in the state, included ploy to declare poll results inconclusive and force a rerun in premeditated polling booths.

He, therefore, warned the newly posted Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ogun State, Prof. Abdul-Ganiyu Raji and his team not to allow themselves to be used for “the sinister plot of the anti-democratic elements,” just as he expressed his party’s readiness to defend votes freely given to it by the voters.

He also called on security agencies, including the police, DSS, NSCDC and military formations in the state, to be on notice of the alleged rigging plans and intended security breach by certain names loyal to the government of the day.

GNI added that the alarm raised by the former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on the alleged grand plan by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to rig the February 16 presidential election, was not a farce, tasking the security agencies to be alive to their responsibilities and prevent what he termed “localisation and domestication of APC rigging plan in Ogun State”.

“At this juncture, l wish to – and on behalf of our party – raise an alarm about the clandestine and well-orchestrated plan by known opposition political parties – to manipulate the March 2nd 2019 gubernatorial election. In the last few weeks, we have been inundated with unimpeachable information and security reports about the grand plot by these elements to deliberately compromise that election.

“They have hatched four different rigging plans. Their first plan is to unleash thugs to precipitate violence in many polling booths and compromise the collation of election results up to close figures and push it to a point of having overall results declared as inconclusive (in a first run scenario) and then force a rerun in premeditated polling booths within a particular senatorial district (name withheld); where they then hope to cement the plot by outright intimidation and harassment of our party members or sympathetic electorates.

“The recent controversial Osun State governorship election comes to memory. The full details and mode of operation of implementing these plans will be kept away from these conference for both security and strategic reasons. However, we must state that these grand plot is their response to an apparent defeat at the polls,” Isiaka stated.

He, however, implored voters in the state to cast their votes for his party on March 2, submitting “Ogun State citizens cannot afford another four or eight years of “a failed rebuilding mission in any guise.”

Politics / Re: GNI Berates The State Of Ogun State - Press Conference (Pics) by segunwilly: 3:25pm On Jan 30, 2019
31) Another way to examine our dire situation is that average monthly revenue of N9.37billion (FAAC plus IGR) is less than our average monthly recurrent expenditure (including salaries and overheads) which as at June 2018 stood at N10.09billion. This is classic bad financial management because it means our income is barely able to sustain the overheads; which leaves nothing to capital expenditure; hence the use of bailout and refund to bridge part capital needs and salaries payments. It suffices to say Ogun state government has needed to constantly borrow to finance capital projects and cannot embark on any new project without borrowing! In the spirit of good faith to our dear state, citizens will also like to be inundated with facts as regards other unstated liabilities such as Contractor liabilities; Outstanding salaries and Subventions to tertiary institutions; Arrears of pensions and cooperative deductions among others.
32) All these is interesting to note, coming from a government that had so much financial liberty at its inception. Our sporting infrastructure is decayed as a visit to the Ijeja sporting complex and our three stadia will reveal neglect and abandonment. Gone were the days when Ogun state won medals at national sporting competition; or attracted tourists to the diverse potentials within the state via various sport meets. The dearth of sporting infrastructure has diminished our youth capacities, deprived us income potentials and exacerbated crime among out teeming youths.
33) We recall how this government as part of laundering its agricultural sector achievements in December 2017 – launched the Mitros rice wonder pyramid. A lot of observers queried the scam but the administration was defiant. A year on, precisely December 2018, no trace of the Mitros rice anywhere; as the pyramids have become plains! Our people must also be weary of a government that is promising to construct/renovate several tourism sites with less than four months to terminate! Citizens must be circumspect of a regime that did not add a single workers housing estate to the ones it met on ground eight years ago.
34) Gentlemen of the press, our campaign is issues-based and we have made issues of governance the focus of this conference. Ogun State citizens cannot afford another four or eight years of self-aggrandizement or sustaining a failed rebuilding mission in any guise. The electorate in our dear state must be prepared to choose between darkness and light; between sincerity and deceits; between capacity and mediocrity.
35) Ogun state cannot afford another four years of indirect tenure elongation for the apostle of mission to rebuild or have in the saddle of government an ill-prepared candidate whose only agenda is to sustain the current decline. Our people must reject arrogant candidates that have no touch with the challenges of our people.
36) What the ADC and I are offering Ogun people is good developmental programmes as enshrined in my 7 Steps to Abundance Manifesto. We have a Greater Ogun State Agenda and we possess the capacity and competence to drive this agenda. Most importantly, we have the sincere heart to be committed to our promises. In answer to the questions and challenges of this state at this time, human capital development will be the focus of the incoming administration; with education and healthcare taking priorities. Job creation and empowerment of our youths and women will be given top priorities via our economic approach and targeted programmes. Rural development that focuses on enhancing our communities in terms of infrastructure will be vigorously pursued.
37) From history, many nation-states have made remarkable leap from the backwaters of underdevelopment and recorded huge transformation that have stunned the world, using different approaches, strategy or models. Nations such as China, Singapore, Norway and to an extent our earlier contemporaries like Brazil, Malaysia and India, have shown that any government that gets its priorities right and adopts the right economic approach will sooner than later reap the benefit of strong economic growth, human development and social welfare. It has also been proven that sub-national economies can be developed in a way that enables them to be major contributors to the national development. What this mean is that, if we look inwards and explore our potentials, Ogun economy can grow and become a major hub not only within Nigerian but also the West Africa sub-region; as we remain the gateway to Nigeria and West Africa.
38) We shall reduce largely our dependency on federal allocations as we hope to build a state that is self-sustaining by gradually building our IGR base without burdening the people. We are bringing in the Nordic model of Social Welfarism that has proven useful to small functional governments with fiscal autonomy. This model thrives on a liberal economy and welfarism. It encourages a democratic culture that pays critical attention to the social welfare of its citizens. Our party, ADC believes in social democracy as an ideology, we shall promote a business friendly environment for entrepreneurship and industrialization to thrive while ensuring that our people’s welfare and economic enhancement is given adequate attention. In this development model, Education and Healthcare and Social Security will be the cornerstone of our welfare system.
39) In this model, every economic participant is a free agent with minimal regulation which means everyone is able to do one business or the other without any inhibition coupled with government’s provision of enabling infrastructure. This model significantly reduces poverty and inequality; two major goals of the sustainable development framework. Economic pundits have said, while it can work in nation with large heterogeneous population, it works even better in smaller societies and that is where a state like ours can take advantage; provided there is cooperation and trust among the citizenry and sincerity on the path of the drivers of government.
40) We shall practically combine lavish welfare systems with fast growth and low unemployment aimed at encouraging the thriving, supports the striving and takes care of the struggling. Our economic potentials across the three senatorial districts will be fully tapped under this model.
41) At this junction, l wish to – and on behalf of our party – raise an alarm about the clandestine and well-orchestrated plan by known opposition political parties – to manipulate the March 2nd 2019 gubernatorial election. In the last few weeks, we have been inundated with unimpeachable information and security reports about the grand plot by these elements to deliberately compromise that election. They have hatched four different rigging plans – one of which we shall highlight here while the other three shall be withheld for exclusive counter action.
42) Their first plan is to unleash thugs to precipitate violence in many polling booths and compromise the collation of election results up to close figures and push it to a point of having overall results declared as inconclusive (in a first run scenario) and then force a rerun in premeditated polling booths within a particular senatorial district (name withheld); where they then hope to cement the plot by outright intimidation and harassment of our party members or sympathetic electorates. The recent controversial Osun state governorship election comes to memory.
43) The full details and mode of operation of implementing these plans will be kept away from these conference for both security and strategic reasons. However, we must state that these grand plot is their response to an apparent defeat at the polls. We recall that few days ago, former President Olusegun Obasanjo equally raised an alarm about the rigging plans of the APC especially at the federal level where presidential election figures are already being allocated. What we have on our finger tips is the localization and domestication of same plan in Ogun state.

44) We want to assure them that we shall not be taken by surprise by their plot as we are fully ready to protect every single vote the people freely give us using all means that is lawfully feasible. We also use this medium to call on the newly posted Resident Electoral Commissioner and his team not to lend themselves to the sinister plot of these antidemocratic elements. They must make every vote count and resist the temptation and inducement of the current establishment. In similar vein, we call on the Commissioner of Police, State Director DSS, NSCDC and the military formation in Ogun state to be on notice of these planned acts; including intended security breach by certain names loyal to the government of the day. Our votes must be protected and every electorate must be protected all the way.
45) Finally, I urge the good people Ogun state to embrace the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the vehicle that will engender the Greater Ogun State agenda of making life more abundant for all. The March 2nd 2019 election is a referendum on good governance and choice for a better future. Vote buying is real and it is a plague with huge implication on our future growth. Let us endure the remaining four and half months and reject them on the ballot paper with a vote for ADC. All men of goodwill must rise up to support the effort to rescue our state from political buccaneers and return it to the path of people-centered governance and sustained development.
46) Once again, I thank everyone for listening. God grant victory to the ADC, God bless Ogun State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
