This device should have come with a removable battery. Before anyone will say I bought fake, I bought from a reputable store (name withheld as them no pay me for advert) at Ikeja computer village.
Truth is that hot4 is an hotplate.

So, i was at carlcare today and with the explanation i was given @jaymichael i will highly advise you to find a way of disposing your phone since you've experienced and overheating issue with the device, it's better to barter out the device while it's still in good shape honestly.

Here is the clear pictures of my device for those that my be doubting the authenticity from the first picture and as regards the present state of the device having being in fear of powering it up since last Thursday since the incident happened, i finally tried powering it up, it did boot but it the screen was not displaying anything the only way i knew the device was up was through the start up vibration and also using the wrong fingerprint as it vibrate(So, battery and charging problem can be ruled of the question for those that may be thinking that). Moreover, i could also notice an expanse in the plastic at the side where the device sustained the burn (My device has never taken a fall and the bulge/swell is a result of the heated up device) but Hopefully, by the time the device gets to them at calcare tomorrow i will get answers as to what went wrong and post it here with any other thing involved

The issue could arise with any phones (not limited to infinix hot4 or the infinix brand) but the non removable battery design is a minus when issues like that arise that could have been solved with a quick removal and insertion of the battery.

Well, I wouldn't want to scare you but, you should consider going to Carlcare if you experience such incident again, cause just like you have described here, my experience was same. you an check out my thread in the link below. Going to update the thread once I go back to carlcare tomorrow and post whatever they say went wrong with the device and any other thing involved

had similar experience last week with my hot4, wished the battery was removable, else I could have rescued a hardware that sorta fried itself inside my device out of sudden unresponsive system and overheating, Hopefully, Carlcare will be opened tomorrow here in Ilorin.

definitely the best thing to do is to get it changed as you've said, because the idea of a repaired device that once burnt doesn't sound safe. More So, I have to know what really went wrong with the phone for safety.

I bought my Hot 4 since January and am enjoying the phone wella.

bought mine last year November and enjoyed it until now

I Will keep you guys updated on this thread when I take the phone back to carlcare on Monday.

It will be a futile gesture to keep replying someone like you; cause you will keep saying what you want anyways and ignore the facts but for one last time. I harmlessly put up this thread because the phone had already been to carlcare once and I don’t know if any other person has experienced such before. Moreover, I know there is carlcare operator here on nairaland. Just to add that there are phone engineers (gurus) on here too and they could have speculations as to what could be wrong with the phone especially where it sustained a burn mark.

if you read very well, I didn't say my device exploded(a component inside the phone got burnt out of overheating) , and to correct you I'm not trying to tarnish Infinix image here I just plainly stated my experience as I have already taken the phone to Carlcare once and I supposed the phone was fixed but definitely they didn't get what was wrong.

So, before anybody conclude that I bought a fake version; nah! This is not the case of a fake infinix Hot 4. In fact, I was at carlcare(Ilorin) today with the same phone to complain about the problem of overheating which drains the phone battery totally and becomes unresponsive and after hearing my complaint they verified if the phone was still under warranty and it checks out(It was accepted and fixed under warranty for free), I was told to come back later in the day to pick it up as it would have been fixed and I did. Well, I tested the phone before leaving their office everything worked okay. Until I got home this evening to fully charge the phone and after charging it up fully, it started overheating again, had to remove my Sims and memory card while doing this, lo and behold! The second SIM compartment was emitting smoke (definitely something was burning inside and a burn mark also can be seen under the screenshot I’m attaching to this thread).

NOTE: I did a system update at the beginning of this week (possible culprit but unsure)

Don’t know if anybody can speculate what could have gone wrong with the phone? Because I’m totally unsure what could have gone wrong and even out of ideas. Hopefully, by the time I check this thread tomorrow there would be helpful suggestions from you guys (had to borrow a friend’s phone to post this night).

I'd give you a couple...You'd have to find out the rest.
1.Don't quit till you try out Zone Control at Rank 4.
2.Don't quit cause of the bad initial gun, which isn't really bad. It depends on your level of skill. Save up, Then Unlock extra weapon slot then buy a Machine Gun - Bigboy and a Shotgun - Mace. You could keep Using both all the way to rank 14 or 20.
3. Do not take cover with your back open, take cover with a wall behind. Though a grenade could flush you out. You just have to improvise and think on the go.
4. Never run straight to an opponent shooting you, you'd get gunned down ASAP.
5. Number One Noob Mistake: Never stand still while shooting your target as it makes you easier to hit and to get killed by another player. Move sideways when shooting and press down your thumb on the shoot button while shooting your target.
6. Make sure you get a grenade kill, if possible kill more than 1 players with it.
7. When someone is using a Shotgun, don't engage in close combat.
8. Memorize map layouts and find corners for the best kill.
9. Learn from what killed you Earlier.
10. Don't buy random weapons, money isn't easy to get. Only those two i mentioned can take you to rank 25. It all depends on you.
